I really enjoyed Genesis, but I think Deception was even better. The writing felt noticeably stronger and more polished in this book, and I found myself even more invested in the characters and the world R.M. Baril has created.

I especially liked getting to see the story expand beyond what was established in the first book. It still had the action and suspense that originally pulled me into the series, but Deception felt like it added more depth to the story and gave me even more reason to care about what happens next.

This has turned into such a fun series to follow, and now I’m just disappointed that I have to wait for book three! I’m really excited to see where the story goes next and will absolutely be reading it when it comes out.

Definitely recommend starting with Genesis and continuing straight into Deception.
