Blessings to you

Thank you for this short story even though it is short it is so powerful. Many need to be reminded of the sacrifices that was made by many so that we can live as we do today! I will be following Drew and reading as much as I can!

Heart breaking

Slave Cry is a well told representation of the horrors of slavery. I could imagine not only the physical pain endured by Mary, but her emotional pain as well.

🖋️ What struck me most about this short story is that without telling the reader, sounds of silence emanate from the telling. I enjoyed it.

Jesus Christ...

What a gut wrenching read, to be so short. I can only cry and pray. My heart hurts for all people during these times, because if one can inflict pain and suffering on another human with out a conscious, and the other human that's receiving the punishment and shame, can only endure it as long as they are alive. So so sad.

A succint powerful tale of slavery so raw that it propels out all human emotions. So provoking that I wonder if the slaveholders' of the past conscience would still hold on to the enslaved as mere property.

The author's pen brilliance for storytelling is immensely visible within the short story. Mary I am empathetic to your pain and struggle.

Quickest read I have ever downloaded. It left me wanting more. Great visual narrative. I could picture the story perfectly, feeling the pain Mary endured. Hope one day to see this story extended into a novel.

I wish I could get those minutes back.

Everything is not for everyone. This was definitely not a story for me. This story had me confused. An answer or revelation about this story was not necessary, I'm just not that intrigued.
