The Chicago 19 are back at it again in this twisty thriller sequel to The Chase.

The Gamble takes everything we see in book 1 of the Chicago 19 and turns it up. More Spice, more twists, more emotion.
I loved getting to know more about Phoenix, and enjoyed all of her interactions with those around her. She is a fierce character and I love how deeply she cares about the people in her life.
I've never written one, but I imagine that a serial killer cannot be an easy character to capture, but I think Waters does a great job of depicting the character is a way that is both intriguing and chilling.
This book definitely turned up the heat from book one! So be prepared for the spice!
And that cliffhanger??? I cannot wait to see where book 3 will take us!

The Gamble is the second book in The Chicago 19 series by Jessi Waters . The Gamble follows a mysterious serial unaliver through journal entries and Phoenix , a police officer you meet in book one (The Chase).
I loved learning more about Phoenix and her love story with Derek. I also loved that the author gave us insight into the serial killer's mind and crimes . I don't want to give too much away about storyline or plot . Just a warning , this book does end in a cliff hanger .

Was another good read. if you like crime and spicy books this one is for you.
