From USA Today bestseller Logan Chance comes a deliciously wicked dark romcom vigilante romance.
Poe Cameron doesn’t do obedience. He does revenge. But the mafia crime syndicate known as Goldenbell has his sister.
Kidnapped. Hidden. Alive only as long as Poe follows orders. Betray his vigilante crew, feed the syndicate intel, play the loyal attack dog… or they kill his sister.
Now Poe's undercover inside a trafficking ring he’s desperate to destroy, walking a razor-thin line between saving his sister and burning the entire operation to the ground.
Then he meets her. Orchid Lin.
Goldenbell’s enforcer. The woman who makes grown men obey with a smile and a threat. She doesn’t trust Poe, so she keeps him on a leash… in a safehouse with one bed and nowhere to run.
She wants him broken. Trained. Controlled.
Poe wants to bring Goldenbell down.
And if falling for the enemy is what it takes to make them obey?
So be it. He’ll obey long enough to get close, then he’ll make Goldenbell choke on every order they ever gave him.
*Make Them Obey is a high-heat, high-stakes dark romcom packed with forced proximity, one bed, vigilante justice, savage banter, and a hero who’ll burn the world down to save his sister.

Make Them Obey starts right where Make Them Hurt left off, and I've been anticipating this release more than most. The chemistry and drama are absolutely present, and the intensity lasts on all levels throughout the story right to the very end. The series is definitely building to an explosive final story.
MAKE THEM OBEY was absolute chaos in the BEST possible way and somehow Logan Chance keeps making this series more addictive with every single book. I’ve ARC read the entire series and this one might honestly be one of my favorites yet.
Poe Cameron was already intriguing in previous books, but getting inside his head completely wrecked me. Beneath all the sarcasm, reckless energy, and vigilante chaos is a man carrying the impossible weight of trying to save his sister while betraying the people he considers family. Every decision he makes feels like a disaster waiting to happen, and the tension from that never lets up.
And Orchid Lin?? OBSESSED. She walks into every scene with this terrifying calm confidence that immediately steals attention. She’s sharp, dangerous, emotionally guarded, and absolutely capable of ruining a man’s life with a smile. Watching her and Poe constantly circle each other while trapped together in forced proximity was EVERYTHING.
The chemistry in this book was unreal. The banter? Top tier. The tension? Painfully good. The “I hate you but I can’t stop wanting you” energy between them carried this story so hard. And underneath all the dark humor and chaos was a genuinely emotional story about loyalty, survival, trust, and how far someone will go for the people they love.
I also really loved how this series continues balancing darker themes with Logan Chance’s signature dark romcom energy. One minute you’re stressed out over trafficking rings, mafia politics, and betrayals… the next you’re laughing because Poe refuses to shut up even in life-threatening situations.
And THAT ending?? Absolutely criminal. I need the next book immediately.

…you need this series on your TBR.
Huge thank you to Logan Chance for the ARC opportunity. This entire series has been wildly addictive from the beginning and I’m already emotionally preparing for book six.
I’m obsessed with Poe and Orchid’s toxic-yet-delicious "I hate you but I want you" energy. Their banter is pure gold, the tension is agonizingly delicious, and the wild plot twists kept me hooked from start to finish. The mashup of gritty drama and hilarious, chaotic romcom vibes is everything—especially Poe’s antics when things get life-threatening. Underneath all that lethal chaos is a brutally emotional story about loyalty and survival. Drop everything and add this entire series to the very top of your tbr list.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I received this as an arc from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was a great forced proximity romance. It was a well written story and it had some unexpected twists along the way. I liked the chemistry between Poe and Orchid and their dynamic in the steamier bits was interesting. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Can this series get any better? Another story from this author I couldn’t put down. I do love a forced proximity book. Poe and Orchid’s chemistry was on fire, loved the twists and drama. Their story had me on the edge of my seat and wanting more. I highly recommend this amazing series.
Make Them Obey delivers an electrifying blend of suspense, emotional intensity, and razor-sharp chemistry, making it a standout addition to the Pretty Deadly Things series. Logan Chance crafts a story that is both propulsive and immersive, balancing danger and intrigue with a compelling emotional core. From its gripping premise to its fast-moving execution, this novel keeps the reader fully invested from beginning to end.
One of the book’s greatest strengths is its character work. Poe Cameron is a layered, memorable protagonist whose desperation, loyalty, and determination give the story real weight, while Orchid Lin brings a commanding presence that makes every scene between them spark with tension. Their dynamic is magnetic, filled with conflict, wit, and emotional stakes that elevate the romance far beyond the expected.
Chance also excels at maintaining momentum, weaving together undercover danger, family loyalty, and vigilante justice in a way that feels cinematic and urgent. The pacing is tight, the banter is sharp, and the stakes remain high throughout, creating a reading experience that is as entertaining as it is absorbing. Each chapter pushes the story forward with purpose, making it difficult to put down.
Overall, Make Them Obey is a polished, thrilling, and highly enjoyable read that will strongly appeal to fans of dark romantic suspense with vivid characters and high emotional stakes. Logan Chance delivers a confident, entertaining novel that combines intensity with heart, leaving a lasting impression long after the final page. It is an excellent choice for readers looking for a gripping story with style, energy, and unforgettable character dynamics.

Independent reviewer for BookSirens, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is book 5 in the Pretty Deadly Things series, and you do need to read them in order. Much is not recapped and there is that on-going story arc. I enjoyed those 4 books, thoroughly.
But here's the thing. This one? Not so much, and I've no idea why! My book brain can't figure it out, and it's stressful!
Poe was the bad guy in the previous book. Given how tight knit this group are, it was always going to be something massive to make him switch sides. His sister being kidnapped did that. Poe's jailer sets off all kinds of bells and whistles, and not only the smexy kind. Orchid is hiding something.
This review will be short, cos I don't wanna bash this book, cos I did finish it and I really want to see an end to Seraphina and her trafficking ring!
I loved that Orchid was so dominant with Poe, but she does let her guard down a time or two. I think I saw what she was hiding coming at me, but still.
Given how this ends, it's got to be a happy for now/cliffhanger. I also said that, in my review for Hurt, that Ozzie and Salem's story felt unfinished and it would feel more finished in this book. Well, it doesn't. And there is what ever is going on with Salem's dad to deal with, cos that one has thrown me, completely!
This was so good and filled with twists, some I expected and some I didn't. I wasn't sure what to expect from Poe after the last book, but I really liked him in this one and being inside his head was fascinating. He was put into an impossible situation with trying to save his sister and not betray his friends at the same time, and he was pretty smart in how he did it. Orchid was an interesting character, I really wasn't sure how to feel about her at first since she was cold and worked for some awful people. But as Poe slowly wore her down, and the cracks started to form, she became something I wasn't expecting, and I do love a dominant and badass FMC! There were some logistical errors though, like in his POV he was kneeling but in hers he was standing, etc. And there were quite a few repeating paragraphs, one being 2 of the spicy scenes so it took me out of it a bit. This ended on quite the cliffhanger as well, so I can't wait for the next book to see if they're okay. No cheating or OM/OW drama, fake relationship/warden and prisoner, lot's of twists and false identities, no condoms, dominant FMC but sometimes the MMC as well, "good boy" and "crawl to me", dual POV's, happy for now but left on a "in danger" cliffhanger and a chapter from the next book. I can't wait to read Render and Enley's book! Not only brother's best friend, but also to learn if everyone's okay!
"Make Them Obey" is the fifth book in the *Pretty Deadly Things* series. Poe finds himself with little choice but to follow orders, betraying his team at Maddox Security in an effort to save his sister. However, he is puzzled by Orchid; something about her facade seems off. The more time they spend together, the more he notices her mask slipping, which only intensifies his desire to uncover what is truly happening.
Orchid's role is to oversee Poe and ensure he stays on task, but she is also hiding a secret. As tailing him becomes more necessary, it grows increasingly difficult for her to keep this secret from Poe, especially as he starts to question their surroundings. The tension between Poe and Orchid is palpable, leading to explosive, steamy moments.
Their slow-burning romance is filled with action and mystery, creating an addictive suspense. Simultaneously, they both express their vulnerabilities and open up about their rare, true feelings, creating an emotional depth to their connection. With a surprising cliffhanger at the end, I am left on the edge of my seat, eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.

is dark, twisted, emotional, and impossible to put down. Poe and Orchid’s story is packed with betrayal, secrets, obsession, and the kind of chemistry that burns through every page.
Orchid is the one holding the power, keeping Poe prisoner while trying to decide if the man in front of her is a monster… or someone worth saving. Poe betrayed his own brothers to protect his sister, but every lie has consequences, and the truth slowly starts tearing everything apart.
The tension between them is addictive. Every conversation feels dangerous, every touch feels forbidden, and the line between hate and love disappears fast. Just when you think you know who’s telling the truth, another secret comes crashing down.
What makes this story stand out is the emotional depth underneath all the darkness. Poe isn’t just fighting for survival — he’s fighting for redemption, for family, and for Orchid’s trust. And Orchid refuses to be weak, even when her feelings threaten to destroy the walls she built around herself.
Dark romance readers who love captivity tension, betrayal, morally gray characters, and high-stakes passion will devour this book. The question isn’t whether Poe and Orchid love each other — it’s whether their love can survive the damage already done.
Make Them Obey by Logan Chance is a wild, high-stakes ride that blends dark romance, suspense, and razor-sharp chemistry into an absolutely addictive fifth installment of the Pretty Deadly Things series. Poe Cameron is forced into a brutal double game—betraying his vigilante crew to save his kidnapped sister while infiltrating a dangerous syndicate. His only oversight? Orchid Lin. Cold, controlled, and terrifyingly efficient, she’s the enforcer tasked with keeping him in line… and the one person he absolutely shouldn’t want. The tension between Poe and Orchid is electric from the start. Forced proximity, one bed, and constant power struggles turn every scene into a battle of wills and desire. Their enemies-to-lovers dynamic is messy, intense, and completely gripping, especially as trust becomes just as dangerous as attraction. What really stands out is the blend of action and emotional stakes—there’s real danger, real betrayal, and a romance that burns right through it all. The banter is sharp, the twists hit hard, and the cliffhanger leaves you absolutely reeling. Dark, sexy, suspenseful, and impossible to put down—this series just keeps getting better.
🖤📚 Make Them Obey is another addictive ride through the Pretty Deadly Things series. This is book five, and it delivers everything I love about this world: danger, obsession, emotional damage wrapped in expensive black clothing, and chemistry hot enough to set off smoke alarms. 🔥
Poe and Orchid completely consumed this story for me. Poe has that perfect dark, controlled energy that makes every scene feel heavy with tension, but Orchid refuses to be overshadowed. She pushes back, challenges him, and pulls emotions out of him he probably never wanted to face. Together, they’re chaos in couture. Every interaction feels loaded, whether it’s anger, attraction, vulnerability, or all three tangled together at once.
This series keeps proving why the Maddox Security world is so addictive. If you love morally gray characters, protective antiheroes, intense romance, and stories that feel equal parts dangerous and emotional, Make Them Obey absolutely belongs on your TBR. Poe and Orchid left claw marks on my brain in the best possible way. 🥀🗝️
Oh wow… Make Them Obey by Logan Chance had me completely hooked from the very first page! 😳🔥 There’s something so deliciously intense about this story—it’s bold, steamy, and full of tension that keeps your heart racing.
Logan Chance writes with such confidence and flair that every scene feels electric. I couldn’t help but get swept up in the push-and-pull between the characters—the chemistry is absolutely off the charts, and the stakes are just as high as the desire simmering between them.
What I loved most is that beneath all the heat, there’s a story that keeps you caring about the characters, their choices, and the consequences of their actions. It’s intense in all the right ways, yet somehow still manages to be… fun? Heart-thumping fun, that is. 😏
This ARC was impossible to put down—I finished it in one sitting, completely enchanted and slightly breathless. If you love dark, commanding romance with tension that keeps you glued to the page, Make Them Obey is a must-read!
Make Them Obey is the 5th book in the Deadly Things series and follows Poe Cameron and Orchid Lin.
Poe finds himself in a precarious situation when he's setup and forced to betray the very people he trust the most. When his sister Enley is taken by the mafia crime syndicate known as Goldenbell and their nemesis Serafina. Now he's being guarded and controlled by Goldenbell’s enforcer Orchid Lin who's hiding secrets of her own. The longer they are sequestered in the safe house the more they find themselves drawn to each other especially when they have to pretend to be something they're not to the nosy neighbors. This is a captivating story where not everything is what it appears. There are twist, turns, secrets, betrayals and danger that lead to one doozie of a cliffhanger that leads to the next book Make Them Pay featuring Render and Enley.
I received a free copy through Booksprout an I'm voluntarily leaving my review.
Make Them Obey is the 5th book of the Pretty Deadly Things series. I'm really enjoying this series with the suspense, action, danger, heat and plot twists that you don't see coming!
The instant attraction building between Poe and Orchid with the love/hate relationship of captor and captive playing out provides the heat and spice that could disrupt the power structure between them. Their struggle with it conflicts with their objectives versus their desire for each other. The interesting dynamics of their relationship adds to the complexity of the story as Orchid is the one orchestrating Poe to "obey" her instructions to protect his sister while his team questions his loyalty.
There is a very big cliffhanger at the end that has me on edge waiting for the next book to find out what happens!
Thank you Logan Chance for an early copy and I'm sharing my voluntary opinion.
We're back with book 5 of the Pretty Deadly Things series, and this vigilante crew just keep getting hotter and hotter, and into more trouble then they care to admit. Poe Cameron is being stitched up and he's being blackmailed to go against his team, his babysitter / enforcer is the gorgeous Orchid Lin. She's cold, determined, intimidating and controlling in every aspect of her life, lets no one into those sky high walls she's built. The physical connection they share is palpable, and will most certainly get you hot under the collar! This one is all about falling for the enemy, trusting your instincts and literally no one else. High on angst and drama and the Serafina saga continues.
I voluntarily reviewed a free advance copy of this book provided by the author. The opinions expressed are my own.
This book delivers a great mix of action, suspense, and slow-burn romance. The tension between Poe and Orchid is compelling, and I really enjoyed the mystery surrounding both their motives and secrets. The story has plenty of twists, emotional moments, and a strong sense of intrigue that keeps you engaged.
That said, I do think this is a series you really need to read from the beginning to fully understand what’s going on. I hadn’t read the previous books, so I felt like I was dropped into the middle of an already complex story. It took me a while to get into the plot and connect all the dots, which made it a bit harder to follow at first.
Once I got more familiar with the characters and storyline, I started to enjoy it much more. The writing is engaging, and the ending definitely leaves you wanting more.
Poe finds himself in an untenable situation where he is torn between loyalty to his crew and his love for his sister and trying to find a balance that will allow them all to emerge unscathed. This situation is made even more difficult when the woman who needs to ensure he does what is required inspires feelings that are very different from hate.
Orchid knows what she needs to do but Poe is everything she didn’t know she wanted. She is used to being in control and failure is not an option however the more time she spends with Poe the more difficult it becomes to keep her distance and her secrets.
The intrigue keeps you on edge, the action is non-stop and even though Orchid and Poe are brought together under the worst of circumstances that doesn’t diminish the feelings or the unexpected bond they have for each other.
Poe has been abducted by Orchid to hack some code for a crime organisation. He knows if he goes along with this he can secure the release of his sister, Enley who has been kidnapped. But once he starts hacking the system, he realises he is being tasked to hack into Maddox Security who he works for. He initially refuses but Orchid insists that it is the only way to save his sister. So he agrees to hack the system and feed the criminals dummy information. Some suspicious nosy neighbours threaten to expose their cover and as Poe learns more about Orchid he thinks she is also hiding something. Add to that the complication that their is intense chemistry between meaning that they can't resist each other and this makes for a very entertaining romantic suspense story.
I absolutely love this series!!! They just keep getting better and better. The characters are amazing and the storyline is brilliant. Logan Chance really created an unforgettable group of characters. This book is Poe and Orchids story and wow it’s incredible. Not to mention totally Hot 🔥, there chemistry is off the charts.
Poe’s sister is kidnapped and he is made to betray his friends and obey the enemy. Orchid is the enemy and the organization she works for has Poe’s sister. Put the attraction is undeniable, and Orchid is not who she seems. The book is will keep you on the edge of your seat and completely captivated.
This story as well as the rest of the series are must reads. It’s completely different from anything you’ve read.
As one story ends the next begins with Poe becoming a pawn in Seraphina's malicious plans. Things have taken a progressively dark turn and it has become personal for Poe with the kidnapping of his sister Enley. Orchid is Seraphina's enforcer, but she has secrets hidden deep.
Thrown together with lives depending on them, they fight their attraction to no avail, keeping their cover while doing Seraphina's bidding.
There are secrets and menacing hidden forces at work which culminate in an unexpected and explosive cliffhanger ending. Not best pleased about that, but keenly awaiting the continuation of this series with Render and Enley's story.
I gratefully received an complimentary copy of this book and this is my honest review.
This latest segment of the Pretty Deadly Things series picks right up where it left off in book four with Poe stealing/kidnapping Salem’s dad because Serafina has taken his sister. His handler, Orchid, Serafina’s right hand is not all she portrays. As Orchid and Poe are forced to stay in close quarters Poe starts to see it. But can he trust his feelings. Can he get word to his team that surely hates him for his betrayal? Can he save his sister, himself and Orchid now that he realizes he doesn’t want to lose her either? This is a great segment of the Pretty Deadly Things series. Cannot wait for the next book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
The search for Serafina continues only this time, the team isn't sure Po is a friend or foe. When Po is taken hostage by a beautiful enforcer, Orchid Lin to hack Maddox Security, he has to use his top notch hacking skills to "look like" he is doing what is required all the while protecting Maddox Security and their clients and getting an untraceable message to his team explaining that he is not a traitor. Secrets are kept until they are forced out in the open in a surprising way and the hope that was their for an HEA is almost dashed. Great story and the next book in the series will hopefully bring closure to the Pretty Deadly Things Series and I can't wait for it to be released!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Poe and Orchid's story is one that is filled with endless emotion throughout the book. They are both in positions that they cannot turn down due to the consequences each would face individually. I adore Orchid, she is a firecracker and Poe, this man is one of a kind for sure. The passion is on point and the storyline keeps us on our toes all the way through, you might think you know what will happen but you will be sorely mistaken. I will say that this story is one that will leave you hanging in the end saying "damn, I need more now. Why would you end this book this way?" but at the same time I love it because I cannot wait for what's to come next.
I would say this is the SPICIEST book of the series. Need some ice cold water after this one because Poe and Orchid are H.O.T hot!!🥵❤️🔥
We left off in the last book with Poe kidnapping Salem's dad. Turns out that Serafina is blackmailing him by holding his sister hostage. She wants Poe to hack a system, he just doesn't know what it is yet.
Orchid is his handler and their forced Proximity and having to pretend to be married to the neighbors is getting to them both. When Poe does what he's told he gets to be her "Good Boy" 😜.
But Orchid has secrets of her own that may jeopardize the whole mission. Does Poe's friends think he's turned to the dark side or will they find him and save him and his sister.
Didn't see that coming!! Poe and Orchid is the definition of enemies to lovers. He is held against his will by her in a safe house asking him to do the unthinkable. Poe's heart is torn in two as their attraction becomes all consuming and he tries to fight back against the enemy while Orchid's lines blur between obligation and passion.
This very intense and riveting suspense romance will have you holding your breath to the end and beyond. As the series continues the story takes turns you won't expect and will make you hungry for the next book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Make Them Obey is a dark, spicy story full of twists!
"Strong women don't have attitudes, we have standards." MARILYN MONROE
What you get.... ♡Dark Rom-Com ♡Vigilante Romance ♡Forced Proximity ♡One Bed ♡Vigilante Justice ♡Savage Banter ♡Instant Intense Chemistry ♡A Hero Who’ll Burn The World Down to Save His Sister ♡High Heat
Orchid and Poe's story turns the heat up, the danger, and the stakes! The vigilante crew keeps getting messier, hotter, and deeper into trouble they absolutely did not sign up for, and I have loved every second of it! I'm addicted to this series and can not wait for the next book!!
The fifth book of the Pretty Deadly Things series. Even though this can be read as a standalone I highly recommend reading the series to understand all the dynamics. The mystery of Poe’s actions becomes clearer. His sister’s safety brings him under the control of evil enemies. Orchid is his assigned handler and boy, does she make him obey! Sizzling! Their chemistry was scorching as they began to trust each other. If you like a series with the suspense, danger, action, found family, heat and plot twists that make you gasp, this is worth your time. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. The ending has me anticipating the next book!
Poe has had to betray his friends in order to save his sister. Serafina has made it so he has no choice but to do her bidding in order to keep her safe so when he is forced into hiding with enforcer, Orchid, he can’t help but feel there is more going on that expected.
This book has forced proximity, crazy chemistry, enemies to lovers so if you love all of those you will love this story.
This is book 4 in the series and I recommend reading these in order as this one starts where the last one left off and there is a lot of crossover with characters.
I read this book voluntarily for an honest review.
Love this world I love this whole series. Each and every character is unique and complex, Poe and Orchid are no exception. I was so excited for this release after the little cliffhanger from the previous book. The overarching suspense and mystery continues and we get to learn more about Poe and his actions. Orchid is such a strong woman and she really keeps Poe on his toes. This is full of action, drama, angst, betrayal, intrigue, secrets, twists, danger, found family, emotion, steam and wicked banter. There’s more to come with another cliffhanger and I can’t wait for the next instalment to give me answers about Seraphina, Salem’s Dad and to see all the relationships grow.
