To stop their foe, Quinn and her friends must embark on a desperate mission filled with magical dangers, daring heists, and enemies at every turn.

If they fail, it won’t just cost them their crowns.

It will cost them their world—and each other.

Brittany Wang’s sequel to her book “On Wings of Ash and Dust” needs a standing ovation. Sure, I was sad all the trials ended in book one, but I loved getting to know each character better with all the different POVs. Wang is a master in her craft when it comes to making each characters voice so distinct and different. Wang’s voice alone pulls me in and keeps me turning the pages. “On Wings of Crowns and Chaos” is a beautiful second installment that follows the 5 heirs working together to stop the goblin leader who is in pursuits to overthrow Faylan. One thing leads to another, with one challenging obstacle after the next. Also, the swoon in this book!!! I anxiously await the third book! I’ve included some of my favorite quotes below!

The last thing I want to do is bring up the whale in the room and make things worse.

Like a single beam of light streaming through a dark forest. I wish there was more I could do to cut through the foliage and let in more light for him.

Your voice always matters, [he] says earnestly. You have to believe that. If you don't, no one else will.

"Sometimes all we need is a reassuring hand or a word of encouragement to send the warmth of joy, hope, or gratitude bubbling up inside us again. Then the icy hold of fear or despair melts away."

“A true leader must also take care of them-selves. If someone neglects their own well being, so blind to their own needs that they get to an unhealthy place, how can they effectively lead anyone else?"

I received an ARC copy and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Advanced Reader Copy:

Oh my gosh how much I just adored this book! Thank you so much to Brittany for giving me an advanced reader copy!! This was such a joy to read and I am so excited to go and talk about it with my freinds who will be reading it!! My review is down below:

Ranking: 5⭐️
Author: Brittany Wang
About: This is the sequel to On Wings of Ash and Dust, so I can’t talk about what it’s about. But, I will say, this is 100% worth the read.
Tropes: Found family, epic quests, multi-POV, more romance.

I loved all of the found family elements. The original crew with Quinn, Hickory, Aeron, Vale, and Alys grew so much. Their dynamic was even better, with so much growth and good memories and time spent together. I also enjoyed how real the feelings were that these characters were having throughout the book. Even if it is a fictional world with fictional characters, the way they all had something going on, and how it was real life feelings associated with their characters and stories, it was amazing to see that, especially as a reader. I love looking for that; that vulnerability that makes me want to continue to read. Jealousy, romantic tensions, trust issues, laughter, betrayal, nostalgia, grief, etc. All good and very real feelings! The characters also interacted so well with each other, and I think that is also what kept me reading. Yes, this was lengthy and it took me a good while. But once I really got into it, and yearned to read these characters once more, it was so worth it!! And also, certain romantic ships grew, in which from that came a lot of squealing from me…

I also enjoyed the addition and growth of new characters! Like Pylo, Tomah, Leera, etc. They really made this book even better. And I cannot tell you how shocked I was at these plot twists! They were insane, and written very well. Very good plot too, as I was very intrigued and I never lost interest. Especially towards the end, I didn’t want to stop reading!! I also enjoyed the ending too, as well as some of the conflicts presented in this book. Usually, I am not a big fan of sequels. But this book exceeded those expectations and made me really enjoy it. This is the true book for a sequel. Very well written and containing to work through the challenges that may come through the characters ways. The ending wasn’t too rushed, and it made me excited for book three and four, that I hope are coming soon!! It was also great to hear from ALL the characters and the use of four more POVs. Really helped me fall even more in love with their character!

Overall, this was such a joy to read and I am so excited for the next two books!

Thank you to the author for my gifted copy. All opinions are my own.

This book is the reason sequels exist! Brittany Wang hit it out of the park. The depth that she wrote the characters is beautiful. The multi-POVs is just what this series needed (not that the single POV from the first book wasn't perfect because it was!). I loved getting to see more of how each character viewed their role in the world and how what was going on affected them all. This book flowed so well from the first book. The twists and turns in the plot kept me so engaged. I cannot wait for the rest of the series. Please do yourself a favor and read this book. You need it in your life!

Did Not Finish

DNF at 40%, page 275. I received the arc of this and unfortunately this sequel was not for me. The story felt so long and there were a ton of descriptions which I felt myself wanting to skim a lot. I was looking forward to seeing how the prophecy from the end of book one would play out but we spent the first 300 pages on what felt like a side quest that I was not enjoying. I'm really trying not to force myself to read books when I know I'm going to rate it low so I have decided not to finish. This is just my opinion and experience though.

It was a long wait for this sequel but it was so so worth it!!

Brittany put her heart and soul into this series and you can tell. 5 different POVs with an enthralling storyline. So much growth and world building happening in this book compared to the first one.

It’s hard to even put into words the details and story that happens! The friendship that grows, the forbidden romance, the ONE DRAGON SCENE!!?!? It’s perfection.

Thank you so much Brittany for allowing me an Arc. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Notes: no spice, no detailed violence

What a sequel!! I absolutely loved this book, just as much if not more than book one. We get to know all the characters on a deeper level and you can’t help but love each of them. Every time I thought I knew who my favorite was I’d start the next chapter and it would change. Now that I’ve finished, I still have no clue because I love them all so much. If you haven’t read book one yet, you should change that asap! For those of you who have read book one already, you aren’t ready for the ride book two is going to take you on. Thank you so much to the author for letting me read an arc of book two!

I can’t praise this book enough!!!

The character development, world building, and Peter Pan references are all wonderful.

There are plot twists you won’t even see coming.

This book isn’t marketed as Christian fiction but if you enjoyed reading C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, D.E. Carlson, or Erin Phillips books with how they weave faith into them then you will definitely love this book.

I received this as an ARC.

This was such a wild ride! I adored the 5 POVs from the various clan heirs. Their personality and style was unique enough that it was not confusing at all to differentiate between each!
I had SO much fun with this book and read it as a buddy read with a friend. Sharing theories was one of my favorite parts as things unfolded.
I can guarantee you will not be bored and the action, adventure, and need to know more will keep you turning the page.
Also.. the epilogue is going to sit with me for a while!

This is book two in 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘢𝘺𝘭𝘢𝘯 𝘛𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘴 and it was so good! I’d been looking forward to this one for a while and did a reread of book one not long before which helped to immerse me into that world once again.

This book starts not long after the first one ended. The Ethodine is over and there are no more trials, but now Quinn and her friends have to figure out how to hold onto their fragile alliance as well as keep their people happy. When one of their group gets blackmailed, they are all forced into a dangerous new journey full of perils, more goblins, and changes they didn’t see coming.

There were some twists that I saw coming but then there was one that I didn’t see until it hit and oh my goodness it was so good!!🤯

I decided to draw this scene from the book because it was the moment I felt like it really reminded me of the Peter Pan/Tinker Bell stories and this is what came to my mind. I’m submitting this for the Faylan fan art contest.
Book one is called 𝙊𝙣 𝙒𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝘼𝙨𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘿𝙪𝙨𝙩 and this one is 𝙊𝙣 𝙒𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝘾𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙣𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙤𝙨

Absolutely AMAZING!!! 6⭐️s Fae

🗒️If you love:
🩷Fae
🩷heist
🩷slow burn
🩷romance (multiple romances)
🩷found family

My Rating⭐️: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (6 stars)

This book has such amazing romances, friendships, and battles. As I was reading it felt as though I was pulling into this story. Every moment in this book so so amazing and I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am for the next two books!

Is this book clean?? 🧼
🌶️No spice
🫢No language
♥️No lgbtq characters
🪄No witchcraft (more so elemental magic)

Some of my favorite quotes/scenes😍:
“What?” I ask. She gestures at me. “Um… you’re going to have to… remove your shirt.” My next words spill out before I can stop them. “Well, that’s something I never thought I’d hear you say.”

As I look around at my friends, gratitude washes over me. Even with my fears about the coming mission and uncertainty over what we are going to tell the clans about Quinn, I realize there’s nowhere else I’d rather be.

Before I can talk myself out of it, I reach out and place my hand on his cheek. Though he startles at first, he doesn’t pull away, allowing me to guide his gaze to mine. “You are one of the best faeries I know,” I say earnestly, staring deep into his eyes so he knows I mean every word. Gently, I stroke his cheek with my thumb, and my fingers warm slightly against his skin. “Even with all you’re going through, especially with your mother, you’re choosing to help complete strangers instead of prioritizing yourself. That’s who you are, Aeron. Don’t let one mistake, one moment of weakness, make you believe any different.”

3 🌟

My brain is fried- too much world building and not enough actioning- (in my opinion)

There's just so much ahhhhhh

I'm so confused about everything and what not

The plot was alright again very chaotic with all the info dumping and such

The romances...........I...I don't even know what to say at this point

Aeron and Quinn went through like so much turmoil like idek if they deserve to be together at this point 😭 ok not true they are healing and definitely are much better near the end of the book when she finally trusts him

Vale and Hickory.. they're ok. I dont hate but definitely not obsessed or anything. That's literally all I have to say about them. I think Hickory definitely deserves a good love interest

Now Tomah and Alys...................... what- I DONT FEEL COMFORTABLE ABOUT THIS!! Their besties and they grew up together (Tomah is a dragon btw) but here's the thing now I know some people like dragon shifter people (talking about you Savy) but this is freaky. Tomah 100% has feelings for Alys who is fairy or however they spell it and you're kind of like that's weird like they aren't the same species BUT THEN you find out Tomah ACTUALLY IS A FAIRY? BUT HE WAS BORN OUT OF A DRAGON EGG!! So they have to break the curse so he can become fairy but when Alys found this out she basically like ( well if he can eventually become a fairy might as well have feelings for him) AND ITS WEIRD CAUSE HES NOT A FAIRY AND EVEN THOUGH HIS PARENTS WERE DRAGON SHIFTERS AND GOT STUCK IN DRAGON FORM (which is why he was conceived as a dragon) THATS STILL SO FREAKING WEIRD AND I DONT LIKE IT! Like I love Alys, but I don't love Tomah as much as I used to..... THEIR REALATIONSHIP IS SO WEIRD AND UGGHHHHHHH..... Anyways 😊

I'll have to wait so long for the 3rd but I also found out THERES A FOURTH?? This is gonna go on forever and oh my.

We did discover so good info and there has been some fun cool stuff but overall loved the first so much moreeee taa taa now I gotta go stare at a wall for an hour ✌️

Wow! What a wild ride this book was. I absolutely loved getting to see the heirs working together and then learning to manage everything. This book provided so many answers to things you were left wondering about from book 1 and equally many more questions by the end going into the end. This book was such a journey but at the core of it I love how the 5 heirs always support each other.

The big bad- what a twist! I think it worked so well!

Honestly go into this book expect a wild ride and an incredible journey!

Thank you to the author for an advanced reader copy of this book.

So worth the wait!
I love that we have POV’s of all the characters now. It took some getting used to, but there are many sides to this story that couldn’t be told by Quinn alone. Just as with the first book, the characters are who make this story what it is. It’s a drama and a thrill.
I can’t wait to see what happens next!

This author is amazing and I will continue to read all of her books! She writes tension, slow burn, force proximity and stories that are so swoon worthy. She also takes you in so many fun adventures. engrossing story

Every one of this book’s 689 pages was definitely necessary — the story proceeded at a natural pace, slowing down and speeding up, and took the time to explore character and relationship development while also building plot and world complexity. I simply could not put it down. 5 stars for sure!

All the swoon without the smut! Romance and fantasy what can be better!?

As a mom of six, I am an audiobook gal. So after listening to the first book, I had to keep going! I read this every spare second I could get which was not the easiest. I love being taken to another world and leaving this one for a bit. 😉 Love that there is no spice or language yet full of all the romance! The hardest part is going to be waiting for the next book! 😟

Not only do I love her books, but her name as well! 😉 ❤️

BRAVO!
Wang does such an incredible job of weaving intricate storylines with heartfelt friendships and some extra romance in this book!
The audiobook was brilliant, highly recommend listening to it! The multi POVs were perfect and I enjoyed hearing from the other characters. The new POVs really added in a great layer to the story. Adding them was such a great move!
There was tension & romance. Friendship & sisterhood. I loved all the relationships in this book.
The story flowed so well from start to finish. I devoured it. It never lagged or got too convoluted like some fantasy books can do. The flow of the reveals and the next adventures worked well and were well paced. I thought I’d miss the action of the trials from the first book but this book was still just as action packed and entertaining.
Overall, it actually reminded me of the Percy Jackson books, just with more romance. The style of writing and the way the audiobook specifically was done just took me back to reading those Percy Jackson books, which I loved!! This series is a must read.

Hickory is probably my current favorite character. But I love all the journeys all the main characters are on to learn more about who they are. Great lessons for us even!

Firstly, thank you to Mrs. Wang for choosing me to receive an ARC. I know that this is super late getting this review out and finishing the ARC, and I greatly apologize on my part. I had a lot of things happen in my personal life and with work that made me not get the chance to read and caused myself to not want to read a lot of fantasy at the time. I wanted this book to have my full attention because this series and Wang deserves that. Thankfully, Mrs. Wang has brought me out of my big break from fantasy because this was fantastic!

As much as I loved the first book, Wang brings everything up a notch! From the plot, the character development, the angst, romance, and everything in between. I absolutely love these characters and how diverse and lovely they are. You feel like you can relate to them. It’s so much fun to read from their POVs, and see their character development. I loved everything about this book, and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series!

Once you pop you just can’t stop! This story kept me captivated from the start to the very end.

Our newly appointed High Council are trying to figure things out. The clans still can’t stand each other, nor do the clans fully trust their new queen and council. Not to mention the confusing emotions between Aeron and Gwynn as well as others. Hickory still doesn’t know if he can truly trust Aeron.

The growth and development of the characters was so well done. Each of them having conflicts of their own that they had to overcome.

The adventures with dashes of mystery were enthralling. If you’ve read Book 1, you know that we are all still trying to figure out how to get to Neverworld to save Faylan (and others…) So many new discoveries in Book 2, it was captivating.

The romance was sprinkled in too and it was ::chef’s kiss:: 😘

Highly recommend this book!

WHY WOULD IT END THIS WAY WHEN BOOK THREE IS NOT OUT YET!
I loved everything about this book. Each and every character. Every plot twist. Every chapter. Every sentence. It was all so perfect and I need book 3 immeaditely. Now. ASAP.
- The scene where Vale fixes Hickory's shirt was perfection. Absolute perfection and I don't think i've ever read a better one.
- Aeron and Quinn: Just admit it already.
SOMEONE GIVE ME BOOK THREE
I love every single aspect of this book and it's one of the best ones I've ever read. I cannot wait another year for the next book.

This second installment me blew away! It's even better than the first---the multiple POVs gave me greater access to the world than even the first book. The character development was still great! The twists and reveals were excellent and made sense---I was not expecting Arista to be killed off this early in the series---I thought she would be a more active problem in the series for longer. And her connection to Maverick.
There was so much I was excited to read, AND so much I'm excited to look forward to. Cannot wait for ebooks 3 and 4.
A much longer review may or may not come later.

Seriously cannot wait for this book to be out in the world so more people can fall in love with it. This was a wonderful continuation of the story that began in On Wings of Ash and Dust. Having the chance to be inside the POVs of all five heirs made the experience so much better. The world building, character development, and twists are all superb! Be sure to add this to your TBR for 2026!
I read an early version of this book. All opinions are my own.
