Living my passion as a dressmaker in a small town doesn't always make ends meet, so I've decided to take on a renter just in time for the town's annual Dogwood Festival. Oliver. Wow. When the magnetic stranger rents out my carriage house for its first week, I'm not prepared. The man is so good looking I can barely look at him. I try to maintain my composure, but my blushing is a dead giveaway. And he's not helping matters by being a huge flirt. When we both lose ourselves in one night of passion, I assume I've gotten that out of my system. After all, Oliver is just a tourist. I can't go getting attached. But the more he inserts himself into my life, the harder it is to resist picturing a future together.
Oliver
I came to tiny Songbird Ridge to explore the art scene and find a gallery that will show my work. Imagine my luck when I secure the last place available to rent in the entire town. The quaint carriage house may be exactly what I need, but the beautiful owner, Iris, is everything I want. She's kind, smart, charming and makes biscuits so good I could cry. The attraction is instant, and eventually leads to the hottest, wildest night of my life. After our night together, she has turned my whole world upside down. Just one she has another renter coming in a week. The thought of leaving Iris behind is inconceivable. And yet, a long-distance relationship sounds like torture. I'll have to do everything in my power to make Iris understand that I'm not just a one-night stand. I'm in it for the long haul, because it's what she deserves, and it's what I want.
I am loving this series. Oliver has rented the carriage house from Iris to take his pottery to the Annual Dogwood Festival. One look at Iris and that’s it for Oliver. Iris isn’t too far behind when she sees Oliver. Oliver and Iris are perfect together but will the rumor mill in Songbird Ridge keep them apart. This is a fast paced steamy hot read that once I started it I couldn’t put it down. Excellent story loved it.

She gives him a room. He steps into her life like he means to stay.
Iris builds a careful life out of talent, routine, and damage control. She makes beautiful things, keeps her head down, and tries not to want too much from men anymore. Then Oliver rents her carriage house for festival week, and from the second he looks at her, the balance she fights to keep starts slipping. What begins as sharp attraction turns into one reckless night that feels much harder to contain than either of them expects.
Oliver doesn’t come to Songbird Ridge looking for forever, but the town gets under his skin almost as fast as Iris does. She’s warm, guarded, and far too used to disappointment, and he meets that guardedness with a certainty that feels dangerous in its own way. The more he folds himself into her days, her kitchen, and her work, the harder it gets for Iris to write him off as a passing mistake.
As the line between renter and something much more intimate starts to blur, their connection shifts from raw heat into something steadier and deeper. Iris begins guarded and quick to assume desire won’t turn into real care, while Oliver moves from restless and searching to fully certain of what he wants. Their dynamic starts in instant attraction and high heat, then deepens into trust, reassurance, and a partnership that feels earned instead of fleeting.
An ultra-steamy small town romance where instant attraction turns into something far more intimate and real. It’s about being fully seen, learning to trust love after disappointment, and letting devotion feel safer than self-protection. What starts in reckless chemistry deepens into emotional certainty, mutual care, and the kind of connection that slowly becomes home.
The Elevator Pitch: A guarded dressmaker opens her carriage house to a stranger and finds herself caught in the kind of desire that feels reckless almost as soon as it begins. He arrives looking for a place to stay and quickly becomes something far more dangerous to her peace, because his certainty cuts straight through every defense she has. As one charged week in a small mountain town pulls them closer, the real question stops being whether they want each other and becomes whether she can believe a man like this means to stay.
Undressed: How I Fell for My One-Night Stand is the fourth book in the Songbird Ridge: A Year in the Life series by Abby Knox. I love this series so much and how the characters are interconnected, with each story flowing in it's own way. This time it is Iris, the next door neighbor and friend of Maddie. She is a very talented seamstress and designer who makes a lot of dresses for weddings. She was a wild child who was the fourth sibling who was raised by their MiMi in Songbird Ridge. When MiMi died it was Iris who inherited the house and contents, because MiMi said she needed something solid to help her grow up. She has worked hard to restore the house and also built her work studio and converted a shed into a rental unit in the backyard. Oliver works for a moving company in Charlotte, NC. But his passion is pottery, with his unique designs. He decides to take some of his work to the Dogwood Festival in Songbird Ridge to talk to someone about displaying his work in a gallery in town. But when he finally finds someone in the pottery tent to talk to he gets more than that, he is offered to have his pieces put added to Leonard's display. Oliver is the first paying guest of Iris's new rental and when he shows up early things get off to an interesting start. These two are sparking from the start but will then mean it will only be for the week or will it develop into something a lot more solid? I loved this sweet, romantic, and smexy hot romance that has a story-line with some drama, chosen family, family drama, love, quirky characters and a lot more all swirled together into the tastiest treat you want to lick.
Book 4 of the Songbird Ridge: A Year in the Life series. Can be read as a standalone.
'And yet, a long-distance relationship sounds like torture. I'll have to do everything in my power to make Iris understand that I'm not just a one-night stand. I'm in it for the long haul, because it's what she deserves, and it's what I want.'
The characters were very appealing and likeable and complicated and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and well paced. World building was solidly drawn and impressive. All in all a great addition to the series. Enjoyed immensely and highly recommend.

This is the fourth book in the *Songbird Ridge* series, and every story so far has been excellent, featuring intriguing plots and engaging characters. Iris has her dream job, but sometimes that isn't enough to cover her expenses. She decides to rent out her carriage house, never expecting that her guest—Oliver—would turn out to be the man for her. A powerful attraction sparked between them the very moment they met, and when they gave in to their passion, she assumed it would be nothing more than a one-night stand. This is a book you will enjoy from start to finish, and the happy ending is truly satisfying.
Abby Knox has been a favorite author of mine for some time now. She knows how to grab onto her readers from the 1st page to the last. The story of Oliver and Iris is one of renting out your carriage house to a artist that will only be in town for a short time. After getting to know one another you discover that you don't want to let them go. This is the 4th book in the Songbird Ridge: A Year in the Life series and you don't want to miss this one!.

This is a fun, light, spicy romance. Oliver is going to Songbird Ridge for some rest and to possibly sell some of his pottery. Iris owns the house he is renting, and she falls for him the moment she meets him. The feeling is mutual for Oliver, too. This is a low-drama book with two people who have been alone for a while. Now they see the possibility of a different future for both of them. Excellent short read with the best happy ending.

Iris is a dressmaker trying to keep her life and finances stitched together. She rents out her newly renovated carriage house, never expecting her first guest to be Oliver, a gorgeous, soft‑spoken potter who knocks her completely off balance. Their attraction sparks immediately and culminates in a one‑night stand that was not meant to be anything but one night. Oliver keeps showing up in her life, in her kitchen, in her thoughts, and in all the quiet spaces she didn’t realize were lonely. Will they find that they have much more than one night together?
The fourth book in the "Songbird Ridge: A Year in the Life" series. This well-written story features a strong plot and great characters, specifically Iris, a local dressmaker, and Oliver, a visiting artist. I enjoyed the portrayal of their relationship as they navigate the transition from a festival fling to a committed future despite the challenge of long-distance. Before I get into the review, make sure you read the dedication, it was hilarious. Anyway, Owen is in this artsy town hoping to display his pottery, and he happens to be the first guest to stay at Iris’s. Ya’ll know the drill, they have instant chemistry, and can’t keep their hands off each other.
Safe read, with a cute and charming couple that brings the heat. We get to see some of our favorites from the series. Sweet epilogue and hea.
This was another sweet and steamy instalove from Songbird Ridge. Oliver and Iris are both a little love-wary, but can’t resist the magnetic pull between them. There’s some small town talk and a spinster aunt that cause a pinch of angst, brilliant and supportive friends and a festival that draws people to the sweet, mountain town.

It was a nice short story with two creative, interesting protagonists. Their falling for each other was adorable, starting a bit before meeting and accelerating when they actually met, liking everything as they were, becoming the town's gossip as well.

Iris decides to rent out her carriage house to Oliver. Oliver is a hit artist, looking to show his art in this quirky little enclave. They are very into each other. Steamy. Recommend.
Book 4 in the fictional town of Songbird Ridge doesn't disappoint. In fact, it was wonderfully well written, full of the steaminess you'd expect from Abby and makes me want to move to this artist community tucked into the mountains. The idea of moving from a renter/rentee, to one-night stand, to vacation fling and finally into a lifelong love seems like it wouldn't work but it's believable in this story. I guess once you recognize your soulmate in another person there are no obstacles to stop the relationship from happening. Can't wait for more stories from this cute little town and all their quirky residents.
