Revenge or Redemption. Which would you choose?
Her Last Chance: Marsh & Josie first appear in HER SANCTUARY. This is their story
Eighteen years ago the Blade Hunter found his first victim on the streets of New York City.
As a child Josephine Maxwell was attacked and left for dead. She learned the hard way that life is a constant struggle for survival. She can’t waste time pining over a man she can’t have. Now the killer has returned, and the only person who can save her is the FBI agent she deceived and betrayed six months ago.
Now he’s back to finish the job.
Special Agent-in-Charge Marshall Hayes has made it his life’s work to fight on the side of law and order, even though it cost him the only woman he ever loved. The return of a serial killer gives him the excuse he needs to force his way back into her life. But in order to catch the killer and safeguard Josie's life, he has to break all the rules and risk losing his heart again.
Her Risk To Take (80-page novella): If only ER doc Sarah Sullivan could get the ornery cowboy she’s loved since she was a girl to cooperate, she could move on with her life, and maybe even think about starting a family. But he’s pulling away, and she doesn’t know why. What she does know is that she can’t imagine life without him.
Ex-con Cal Landon lives in fear of the day his ugly past catches up with him and takes away the best thing he’s ever known—Sarah Sullivan. Cal would die to protect her, but she deserves better than a world-weary ranch hand. Even though it’s way past time for him to leave her family’s Montana spread, he can’t bring himself to let go.
When Sarah proposes at Christmastime, Cal has no choice but to walk away. Then a hostage crisis hurls Sarah into a life-and-death situation, and the love that made Cal leave sends him racing back to her side, straight into danger. He will get her out alive—or die trying.

Her Sanctuary: 3 1/2-Stars This book has a good, solid plot with great characters. There are definitely signs of the wonderful author Toni Anderson becomes, but this book lacks a flow that is present in her later works.
When her case falls apart and very life is threatened, ex-FBI agent Elizabeth Ward runs. With a new identity she hides on a remote working ranch in Montana. From her first encounter with Nat Sullivan, she is captured by the raw masculine presence of the ranch owner.
Nat Sullivan is barely holding his family and ranch together. By taking guests at the ranch, he can barely make expenses. That wouldn't begin to pay down the debts on the ranch and the family is faced with loosing the ranch. His attraction to Elizabeth can't come to anything, when nothing is all he has to offer her.
With a killer on her trail and her life so uncertain, Elizabeth has a lot of decisions to make. One of them is that she is not going to let her rapist steal her life from her and she is definitely not going to let any harm come to the family and the place she has come to thing of as a home. 3 1/2-Stars
Her Last Chance: 4-Stars When tragedy strikes, you never really ever recover from it. Sure, you pick up the pieces and move on, but you are never really the same ever again. How it affects a person varies, but life is forever altered for everyone left behind. Our main characters have each been touched by tragedy, on one the scars are visible, on the other they are not. As the plot weaves and each character is forced to confront their brokenness, we can only watch as forces outside these two seek to destroy them and wonder why.
At the age of nine, Josephine Maxwell was the Blade Hunter's first known victim. That experience, along with her mother's disappearance and her father's abuse, has overshadowed her whole life. Now, eighteen years later, the Blade Hunter has returned and he intends to finish.
FBI Special Agent-in-Charge Marshall Hayes is one of the good guys. He met Josie six months ago and she captured his heart. When she is caught up in the Blade Hunter murders, Marsh will do whatever it takes to protect her, even break the rules he holds so dear.
Her Risk to Take: 5-Stars Loved this novella about Sarah and Cal. I have found that I really like novellas. This one has a really, really hot beginning and edge of your seat action and suspense. There were some loose ends (Ryan needs an HEA and Cal's trouble with the locals) but overall it was a wonderful wrap up to the Her Series.
Sarah Sullivan is a hard working ER doctor and the glue that has held the Sullivan family together for years. This year she has a lot to be thankful for: Ryan is facing his grief over the tragic loss of his young wife and Nat has found and married the love of his life. A lot to be thankful for, but she is missing something for herself and has decided that she is done waiting for him. Making the first move is definitely her risk to take and Sarah is taking it.
Cal Landon is an ex-con who is grateful to the Sullivan family for everything they have given him. He loves Sarah Sullivan, but because of his past, she deserves better than him. When she makes her feelings for him known to everyone on Christmas Eve, he is afraid that there are those who will take their revenge out on her and Cal runs. But, danger comes to Sarah anyway and the only thing Cal can do is make sure she survives.
3 really well written stories. Each is a standalone but the characters do intertwine. Good suspense and a few steamy scenes. Her Sanctuary is about Eliza, an FBI agent on the run from the mob and Nat, the man whose family owns the ranch where she's hiding. Her Last Chance is about Josie, an artist whose past comes back with a vengeance and Marsh, the FBI agent trying to keep her safe from a serial killer. Her Risk to Take is the story of Sarah & Nat, friends who have loved each other for years but have never admitted it.

All three of these books are wonderful, I had read the first two previously and loved them both. I bought this book for Her Risk To Take, it was well worth it. What an enjoyable read, Sarah and Cal are awesome characters.
