Far down a back alley in Shinjuku's New Chinatown a strange pet shop can be found. It's said that Count D, the shop’s caretaker, will give you any pet you desire. Endangered animals, barely legal pets, even those to sate the most unspeakable longings—all these and more can be found at his shop.
Matsuri Akino (秋乃 茉莉 Akino Matsuri), is a Japanese manga artist from Mitaka, Tokyo, now a resident of Yokohama. Her work is a mix of the fantasy, mystery, and horror genres. Her self portrait is usually a kappa, sometimes with braids or an odango hairstyle.
Such a fun a twisty conclusion to a charming series. It was great to revisit this classic from 20(+) years ago. I didn't remember the ending at all. Never actually crosses the line into BL but threatens to often enough that it's a good time. And this volume actually builds that tension into the backstory. Hope they do a collector's edition of the sequel series next!
