—- adding this as i reflect back on the series,
It genuinely struck me dumb just how devoted shen jue was to xiao lian. How his faith, belief, and love never wavered in spite of distance, despair, nor death. I didn’t have to guess, i didn’t even have to say it out loud how xiao lian was his ultimate weakness, his Achilles heel, his ultimate destruction and it made his devotion, his steadfast resolution to choose xiaolian over and over and a billion times him again and again - i cant help saying it made me wonder if a love like that could ever exist.
Alas, only xiaolian deserved a love as unwavering as shen jue’s.
Only shen jue deserved xiaolian’s love that defied fate and gods and the whole word itself.
In the end, they’d always choose each other, over and over again, in life and in-spite of death.
