One Last Time: A celebrity rockstar romance about fame, addiction, and the risk of loving someone who might not choose you back.
"BEING WITH HIM WAS LIKE SEEING THE WORLD IN THE MOST VIBRANT COLOURS."
Liv never expected to lock eyes with Jake Saunders in a bar on an ordinary night out with colleagues-let alone have him ask her to dinner. She lives a grounded life in Australia. Her world is predictable. Real.
Jake's world is anything but.
An international rockstar, Jake lives in constant motion-touring, pressure, noise. Silence is dangerous. Intimacy even more so. He's learned that the safest way to survive is to keep moving, never staying anywhere-or with anyone-long enough to feel too much.
Liv was never meant to be more than a distraction. Something temporary. But the moment she walks into his life, Jake begins to break his own rules, letting her see the parts of him no one else does.
As their connection deepens, Liv must decide how much of herself she's willing to lose for a man who might never choose her back.
What starts as fleeting moments turns into late-night conversations, unguarded intimacy, and a closeness that feels dangerously real. Liv sees past the fame to the man beneath it-thoughtful, conflicted, always one step away from retreat.
Jake sees in Liv something rare… and fights it just as hard.
Because Liv belongs to a world that asks her to stay.
And Jake belongs to a world that never stops moving.
Jake knows how this ends. He's always known.
But knowing doesn't stop him from wanting her anyway.
One Last Time is an emotionally intense romance about desire, distance, addiction, and boundaries-and the moment a temporary escape becomes something unforgettable.
H. Huckleberry is an Australian author writing contemporary romance with a cinematic edge.
Her work focuses on emotionally complex relationships—where love is intense, imperfect, and often shaped by timing, distance, and personal battles. Drawing on themes of grief, longing, and vulnerability, their stories explore what happens when two people connect deeply but aren’t sure how to hold onto it.
Their debut novel, One Last Time, begins a sweeping story of love, addiction, and emotional reckoning—set between Brisbane, Los Angeles, and New York.
This book was fantastic. It felt like I was living first hand experiences of both Liv & Jake. It was so well written. I love the gentleness and authenticity of Liv and the way Jake’s grief is written so well, the oppressive weight of compartmentalized grief in order to survive is written perfectly. I can’t wait to read the next part of their story.
