This had a sweet premise. A love after loss, almost second-chance romance vibe between two people carrying deep grief. Both Haji and Zoe experienced devastating losses that caused them to shrink into themselves. After being forced to take time off from work, Zoe returns to the place and emotions she once ran from. Together, she and Haji begin working through their pain and learning how to live, and potentially love, again.
But for me, I never fully felt the romance. It’s mentioned that they spent time together ten years prior, but that history isn’t meaningfully established before the time jump. Because of that, their reunion and shift to romantic partners felt random. I don’t think I felt any real chemistry between them. If you’re looking for a light read though with limited tension, you’ll like this.
B had me shedding tears from the very beginning of this book when Zoe and Haji lost her sister and he, his best friend. At that time, a soul tie was created between them. That tie never went away during the ten years that they were separated. Once Haji and Zoe see each other again, they realize that the feelings that had started developing years ago were still there. I was happy that they helped each other through the lingering grief and pain that they were still suffering from. I was glad that Zoe knew that Haji was the man who spoke to her soul after what she went through with her ex-fiance and boss who was trash IMHO. With Haji's help, Zoe was able to find her passion and start living again. He also helped her to heal the rift between Zoe and her parents. This was a very emotional book that I encourage you to 1 Click.
Loosing a love one is never easy. Grief is different for everyone. However, you must grieve. I loved that Zoe had her moment with Zina. Raymond cared about hisself. Thank God she fainted and got away. Now loved tge chemistry Zoe and GG had. He was intentional and patient. GG's relationship with his parents was top tier. Zoe needed him and he needed her. They healed together and spoke about their desires and dreams. Raymond was overdue on that face check. He really thought he had it planned.🧐. Zoe lived, loved, and started a family as Zina wished✨️✨️Thanks B. never disappointed 💯💯💯
Loved it. The FMC andMMC were both dealing with some tough losses. Zoe while brave, strong, and determined pushed herself beyond her limits in attempts to cope. Haji was patient, loving, and a provider and stressed to the max while trying to keep a promise to a friends. Their paths cross over coffee and loss love. They bond and help each other heal, find comfort, and joy again. They must make some difficult choices concerning new life changes or go back to what nearly kept them broken.
This was a heavy but beautiful story of two people finding love after loss with each other. Zoe and Haji shared the loss of her sister and his best friend and bonded over that loss and trauma initially. Years later, their paths cross again and they can no longer ignore their attraction to each other. I loved how Haji loved on her and showed her she was worth the love he gave so freely. I also loved how he encouraged her to heal and not run from her feelings. I loved that they both were able to get back to their passions and thrive together.
I don't care how many warnings an author put in a book, my heart do not be ready for the feels. Zoe opening run... tears. Haji, sitting at the door and then the solo lunch... tears. Them coming together year later to reimagine the dream of her sister and his best friend... tears.
All the in-between was great as emotions were high in some areas. This book had a major undertone of finding yourself and pivoting back to what you love most. Grief is a living thing, how you live with it is the true test. Know your worth and stand in your truth.
Brought Zoe & GG back together Both dealt with death of a love one
I'm glad Zoe chose love over money and peace and happiness... Now lil bundle of joy
Raymond didn't love her he only wants her to use her because showed his true self when she passed out but he lost that contract because they were right Zoe was supposed to be your fiance and she worked for you ...
I really enjoyed reading this book. Zoe initially met Hagi when her sister died. He was her sister’s best friend and was married at the time. Zoe took her death hard and left the city. For ten years, she threw herself into work and got engaged to a selfish man. She went back home after an incident and her new life with Hagi began. Well written, flowed well and kept my attention.
Good Book😍 I love everything you write, it's awesome how your stories go deep and makes you think about life. Zina wanted Zoe to live her best life so she didn't tell her about being sick, the hard part is Zoe couldn't handle it and left and for ten years was not seen until she was stressed out and went to where she should have stayed..... To run her sister's coffee shop where she should have stayed but Love was there waiting on her
This is a story about losing, finding, healing, and falling in love again. Haji and Zoe lost a lot,and they buried themselves in grief, work, and doubt. They stopped living. However, being given a second chance, they found their way to each other.
It is a wonderfully written standalone of loss and love. Grief has no time limit that will bring about so many emotions in different ways to each individual. Haji as Zoe both grieved Zina in different ways, however it somehow brought them together. I loved the epilogue as well.
This literary gem had me so thoroughly captivated that putting it down seemed like a criminal offense. With prose so delectable, I devoured every page like a bibliophile at an all-you-can-read buffet. I would love to come for seconds.
I really enjoyed Precious and GG’s love story. The connection from their first interaction was just so sweet. I was so glad Zoe realized that Raymond was not her person because he was definitely not it. Simply a wonderful story
"Grounds 4 Love" had a few spicy love scenes, but it was mostly thoughtful, making you want to cry, and sometimes uplifting. I truly enjoyed Zoe's and Haji's journey of healing and love. Thank you, B. Love!
Haji and Zoe went through so much after losing Zina. Thankfully, 10 years later they finally saw each other again… and that love they tried to keep at bay flourished. This was a nice, quick read! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I love the concept of the coffee shop. Zinas presence is felt even in her absence. I love that Zoe knows her worth and wasn’t hesitant to voice it. Haji is a dream😍
