Red Ruby is everything I wanted in a fun, spicy vampire romance. If you’re looking for a book that’s equal parts fantasy, chemistry, and pure entertainment, this is it.

Following a vampire hunter and a vampire, this story is packed with tension, banter, and a whimsical fantasy world that gives major The Vampire Diaries vibes. The world-building is easy to dive into without ever feeling overwhelming, making it the perfect palate cleanser if you’ve been reading heavier fantasy.

And yes… the spice absolutely delivers. This is definitely one of those books where the romance takes center stage, and if “the spice is the plot” is your favorite kind of read, you’re going to have an amazing time.

As the second book in the Velvet Vows trilogy, Red Ruby builds on the world while keeping the story fast-paced, flirty, and incredibly bingeable. It’s the kind of book you pick up for “just one chapter” and suddenly realize you’ve read half the book.

If you’re in the mood for vampires, forbidden attraction, fantasy, and a romance that doesn’t shy away from the spice, I highly recommend adding Red Ruby to your TBR.

I fell in love with Talulla and Flynn from the first encounter a few years ago when Red Ruby was in its novella form. I immediately wanted more of them.

Then Black Silk came along and now Red Ruby is a full length novel and loved how it came out. It is still as deliciously spicy as the novella was but now we get to know Talulla and Flynn more deeply. We get more of that beautiful connection they have and that they protect against anything that threatens is.

I have enjoyed reading this book so much, it had everything: a sexy dominant vampire, an independent feisty vampire hunter, love, romance, danger, suspense and an unhinged villain.

I am so happy that years ago I picked up an ARC of Red Ruby in its novella form just because the FMC had my surname because it lead to getting more of these amazing characters.

And hopefully,y favorite Villainess from Black Silk will make another appearance in book three, that I am obviously dying to read.

Probably the perfect second book for Black Silk! Letizia knows perfectly how to build tension and Flynn and Talullah are the perfect couple! Their love is shown in every action and I can’t wait for the next book to see how everything unfolds 👀
