My cup is full. This follow up story will give you that much needed look into Lucas's life, and give you a complete picture of what happened in the days leading up to Lucas's accident. You will also pick right back up where Feels like Fire left off. This book is full of reconciliation, mercy, grace, and love. You will feel MORE than content with the way Nicole wraps up their story. God exists in Nicole's book, but in a very realistic way. There's some language, and it's closed-door. This book was PERFECT!

Oh my goodness, where do I even begin!? There are truly no words to adequately express just how much I love Casey and Lennon's story. I fell in love with them in Feels Like Fire and couldn't imagine it was possible to love their story any more... and yet, here we are. Every expectation I had for this story was completely blown out of the water and, as my most anticipated read so far this year, that certainly is saying something! In the Fire of It All picks up after Feels Like Fire, so if you haven't read it yet, you're absolutely going to want to go back and read that one first. There are spoilers, and I just don't think you'll be able to full appreciate the connection between these two without that history. Seeing the love between Casey and Lennon strengthen and grow throughout this book was absolutely beautiful. But not only do we pick up with them where we left off, we also get to go back and see where Casey and Lucas first began, making me feel the weight of his death all that much more. There were questions that I didn't know I needed answered, but that added more depth to their story... all of it making me love Casey and Lennon (and Lucas) all that much more. Chapter 22... oh, I was not expecting this! Those last two sentences... I was sobbing and even now find myself tearing up just thinking about it. Again, there are no words. I love an emotional romance so I'm no stranger to books dealing with grief, but I don't know that I've read any other books where it was written in a way that had me feeling that grief so profoundly. This book definitely wrecked me... but in the absolute best way possible! Their romance certainly isn't an easy one... it's messy and heartbreaking and so complicated... but also beautiful and unforgettable. If you're looking for a book that will bring all the emotions but ultimately leave you with a hard fought happily ever after, this is a book/duology that you absolutely do not want to miss! This is, hands down, a new favorite for me.

In the Fire of it All is the a long awaited sequel to Feels Like Fire and you know what they say - perfection takes time.
If you loved FLF then you are going to be obsessing over ITFOIA for the rest of your life. Casey and Lennon’s relationship is raw, bittersweet, and tender enough, but when Nicole decided on a dual timeline and coupling their future with Casey and Lucas’s past, it brought a new depth to these characters that you may not have known you needed (but we SO DID!)
This had me feeling a grief-rich tug of war where I desperately wanted for Lucas not to be gone, but had that sweet sadness of knowing how amazing her and Lennon work together. A coin is not made up without two sides and Nicole shined all of our beautiful talent into this toss up with that fact in mind. Both timelines were important, necessary, heartwarming and gut wrenching.
As always, Nicole delivers a story that is a perfect movie in your mind. A story that stays with you forever, and makes you believe in love (and wish these characters were real!) Nicole has a way of writing that makes you feel like you are visiting old friends, and she immerses us in a lovely blend of local attraction and fictional whimsy.
If you love romance, closed-door, complex characters, real grief, and a gorgeous light at the end of an otherwise darkened tunnel, you will adore ITFOIA. Bonus points if you live in Florida or just enjoy local, small town charm.

This book leaves you fulfilled, reprieved, and full of precious love. It is the sweetest unfolding to Casey and Lennon’s story, and gives them and Lucas the peace they deserve. Do not miss this breathtaking completion to a perfect duology.

I still don’t have the right words to fully describe how this book made me feel.
I’m sad, and I’m happy, which is exactly the tension Lennon and Casey carry so beautifully. Grief for sweet Luc, but also joy, hope, and love for the life they still get to build.
Nicole Feller created a masterpiece with this book, and with book one.
The side characters added so much depth to the story, giving such a well-rounded picture of how each family member is affected by loss and what healing can look like afterward. We all walk through grief differently, and when those differences go unspoken, they can create deep wedges.
But the wedges in this story were filled with something greater than any of them imagined, something gentler, stronger, and better. Something Luc would have wanted.
This book reminds us that grief and joy can coexist, even when it takes time to believe that’s possible. Lennon and Casey live that out so honestly and unapologetically. And the fire between them burns away everything that can’t withstand the truth and weight of what they’ve walked through, leaving not ashes, but a new life that honors Lucas and all he was.

This book was just as good as the first one. I’m pretty sure I cried just as much. This book WRECKED me. Especially that extra POV chapter-oof. But goodness it was soo good. It was unbelievably beautiful and Nicole really has a way with words and knows how to linger in a scene just long enough. Not to mention the YEARNING.
The biggest takeaway is how well she managed to weave the complexity of love and loss and the raw messiness of people and relationships and where God fits in all of it. There is a lot of drama but it all comes together at the end in such a wholesome way.
These books will always have a place in my heart and I wish I could give them the words they deserve.

Absolutely loved how the story picks right up where it left off from the first book, but the dual timeline helps you get to know Lucas a little bit better and it just builds the layers of his character and how they all play a role in recovery and healing. This book ties all of the loose ends together beautifully. Well done!

I devoured this one just like I did the first book. There were some family moments that felt a bit drawn out but I loved the backstory of Lucas and Casey and seeing where Casey and Lennon each ended up down the road 🩷

This emotional series has destroyed me in the best way. It follows the love story of Casey and Lennon as they navigate the shared tragedy of losing Lennon’s twin brother and Casey’s boyfriend, Lucas.
The way Nicole writes grief is heartbreakingly beautiful. Her writing embodies loss in a way that you feel in your bones. If you’ve ever experienced grief (which, I would suggest we all have), her words will resonate with you in such a powerful and relatable way. I think I cried for a hundred pages straight.
Casey and Lennon’s story is complicated and human. They deal with roadblocks at every turn and it seems like everything except fate wants to keep them apart. But they are so much more than the pain that brought them together. They are a beautiful and inevitable story of healing, resilience, and “living on.” Easily one of my all-time favorite reads! I have spent the last few weeks thinking about this dulogy. I keep asking myself if you could read one without the other and I have decided that you absolutely cannot. You need both.
1️⃣ In the first book, we meet Casey right after her boyfriend was abruptly killed. She was completely devastated. Then she meets her boyfriend's twin brother, Lennon, and they connect in a way that feels weird but perfect all at the same time. They walk through their grief together and find that they need each other. It's beautiful!
2️⃣ In book two, Casey and Lennon reunite after taking some time to heal separately. They are still deeply in love but it strikes a raw nerve on people they love. While you are reading about them continuing their life together, you also get flashbacks of when Casey's boyfriend, Lucas, was still alive. Those chapters answered questions I didn't even know I had from the first book!
And the epilogue... Oh my goodness! It's perfect!! You just have to read it. But read it in order!

I’m going to be honest. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to do this book justice no matter how hard I try. But I’m still going to try because I desperately want everyone to read (and love) both this one and the first book in this series, Feels Like Fire. This series has my whole heart. Forever. 🥹

They are the only other person who can understand the depth of each other’s pain and they bond as they try to heal from this tragedy. But they also begin to fall in love and must decide if they are truly ready for that…

This was such a good book and was nearly impossible to put down. However I did feel like it was a bit drawn out. Such a beautiful ending.
