PHANTOM

Rate this book
Phantom Rowe lives by one rule—protect what’s his at all costs. That rule’s been tested, broken, and rewritten in blood ever since Raevyn Wylde became his wife. She’s not just the love of his life; she’s his breath, his reason, his balance. Together, they’ve weathered betrayal, rebuilt from ashes, and built an empire that carries the weight of their love and war. Now, with their family growing and the world watching, Phantom and Raevyn are learning how to heal without losing the edge that made them kings and queens of the dark. But peace doesn’t come easy to men born in fire and women who rise like storms. Between growing businesses, buried secrets, and unexpected enemies, the Rowe family must fight harder than ever to hold on to what matters. Because in Phantom’s world, love is war. And Raevyn is the only one worth dying and killing for.

I had the pleasure of reading an advanced copy of Phantom by this amazing author and let me just say you are in for a wild ride with this book!!

This story centers around Phantom and Raevyn and takes you into their lives 15 years after their initial interaction. If you love a story about redemption, second chances and an unhinged MMC who don’t play about his wife, this is the book for you!!

Phantom by Sunshine Novels had me locked in almost immediately because Phantom wasted zero time letting it be known who Rae was to him. That man moves with confidence, mystery, and just enough crazy to keep everybody on their toes. One minute he’s romantic and saying the right things, the next minute you’re remembering this man is not someone to play with. I can’t even lie, the way he loves Rae out loud once he decides she’s his would have had me melting too. And listen… the chemistry between Phantom and Rae? Let’s just say some of those scenes had me ready to turn the fan on and grab some water because whew. If you know, you know.

Rae is that girl though. She’s not weak, she’s not passive, and she definitely isn’t about to sit around being hidden. Wanting to be acknowledged publicly is real and she stood on that. I loved how she carried herself and how she showed up for other people, especially the women around her. She’s nurturing, smart, and a little unhinged in her own way. Rae might not fight with her hands all the time, but the way she gets in people’s heads and plays the long game? Yeah… that woman is dangerous in her own right. And Kaos? That boy is hilarious and clearly his father’s child. The way he rides for his mama and pops up with the funniest little moments added so much personality to the story.

What I loved most about this book is that it wasn’t just romance. It was messy, intense, funny at times, and full of big personalities. Phantom and Rae both have their own baggage and their own way of handling problems, which makes their relationship feel real instead of perfect. Watching them deal with family drama, outside problems, and their own issues while still choosing each other kept me turning the pages. If you like powerful couples, dramatic moments, and a love story where both people are a little crazy about each other, Phantom is definitely one to pick up. And for the people who read it and know exactly what I’m talking about… the theme song for a few of those moments is definitely “Wetter” by Twista. Iykyk.

Arc Review:

When it comes to spicy reads 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Sunshine is one of my faves. Phantom is deliciously filthy while also being romantically swoon worthy. If ya man isn’t willing to unalive any and everyone over you… does he even like you?! Lolll. Rae and Phantom match each other’s crazy, and it’s honestly hilarious to witness. Oh, and their son Kaos…he’s every bit of his mama and daddy 😂 a damn menace. Phantom makes the wrong moves in his attempts to protect his family, but the depth of his love for his wife and son is always felt. I enjoyed witnessing him recognize the error of his ways and work to maintain his place in Rae’s life. I really appreciated the themes of Black maternal health and mental health counseling woven throughout the story. Phan made it clear that real G’s do anything for their lady and if she says we need to go to counseling…then that’s what happens! I’m looking forward to the next book in the ‘Unhinged’ series.

Phantom Rowe and Raevyn Rowe have been married for 15 years with a son Kaos. They have grown apart as Phantom thinks his lifestyle puts his family in danger so he stays away but Rae wants, needs, and deserves to be loved out loud. But don't get it twisted; this ain't a sweet love story. Breathe on Rae, you die. Touch Rae, you die. Accidentally bump into Rae, you die. Rae plays with a couple of folks' lives knowing her man is crazy and her son is a snitch. Phantom's mama is off as well.
The book is about what happens when you stop living scared and come out of the dark. When you decide to fully commit to love past the betrayals and mess...both internal and external. D't miss

ARC REVIEW

Obsessive love ✅
Touch her and 💀 ✅
Unhinged Parent ✅
Strong FMC ✅

Phantom and Raevyn Rowe has weathered every storm up against their 15 year relationship. Even if the storm was caused by one another. A new storm arises when Rayven acts on feeling like Phantm doesn’t see her. And one thing is for certain Phantom does not play when it comes to what belongs to him. Family or not! You could barely breathe the same air as her without a threat on your life. Hell even Kaos ain’t play about his momma. He also did not fxck off when reminding her who she belongs too. It was the way he told her “COME HOME” for me. 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 If you loved Pyro from Book 1 of the Unhinged Series then come meet his cousin. 🤭🔥

Missing parts

I do understand that this was book 2 of an unhinged book but book one only brought phantom name up. Not his story or how he met Rae. Book one was Pyro’s story of him meeting sunny. So many things was missed in this book. The author mentioned something but in the as we read about it already.
