Kiss And Make Up

Rate this book
A sexy, sassy contemporary novella from New York Times Bestselling Author Leslie Kelly

Cassandra Devane thought she was over the heartache of a whirlwind marriage and a painful divorce. She's successful, she's wealthy, she's running her family-owned cosmetics company.

But the truth is, she's not very happy.

So when she finds out her divorce was never finalized, and she's still married to advertising exec Wyatt Reston, there's only one thing to do: confront him, and the past.

Wyatt's world is rocked when sexy Cassie storms back into it. But Wyatt is no longer an idealistic, college-aged kid. He's a man who knows exactly what he wants...and how he wants it.

Cassie might think she's out to take care of some unfinished business, but if Wyatt has his way, their most serious negotiations are going to take place in the bedroom.

Note: A version of this story originally appeared in Harlequin's BOOTCAMP novella in 2006. The story has been significantly revised and updated for re-release.

New York Times Bestselling author, Leslie Kelly writes sexy romances and dark romantic thrillers. A four-time RWA RITA Award nominee, eleven-time Romantic Times Award nominee and 2006 RT Award winner, Leslie has become known for her delightful characters, sparkling dialogue, and outrageous humor in her romances, and for the dark grittiness of her thrillers. Since the publication of her first book in 1999, Leslie has gone on to pen more than forty sassy, sexy romances for Harlequin Temptation, Blaze, and HQN.

In 2009, Leslie began tapping into her love for dark suspense by penning several books under the pseudonym Leslie Parrish. The Black CATs and Extrasensory Agents series quickly put Leslie on the must-read list of romantic-suspense fans.

Tired of writing under various names, Leslie decided to go into her next genre--futuristic thrillers with a suspense element--under her real name. She released her dark, gritty Veronica Sloan books, and reissued the Black CATs series, as Leslie A. Kelly.

Leslie lives in Denver with her husband Bruce--her real-life romance hero. Visit her online at lesliekelly.com (for her sexy romances) or at leslieAkelly.com (for her romantic suspense.)

Aww..adorable second chance romance.
You could really feel the love the H/h shared. h was confident, smart and not afraid to go after what she wants. She's vulnerable too and not a Mary Sue. H was sexy successful and a bit wary of the h the second time around ;he was an amazing guy and h was truly lucky to get him back.
This book is a keeper! I know I'll reread it many times with a smile.

This was a really sassy, fun read. Leslie Kelly packed a lot of punch in a short novella. I am a huge fan of second chance romances and this one did not disappoint. Cassie and Wyatt were young married lovers who let their doubts and insecurities tear them apart a year after they were first married. Fast forward 8 years and, thanks to a little meddling by Cassie's grandmother, they reconnect and things take off from there. Wyatt takes a little convincing, but just a little, and Cassie is determined to win him back. I loved Cassie and Wyatt's chemistry and interaction, it was very real feeling. One thing about this novella, you have a preconceived idea of what is going on and how it will go down, when all of a sudden, things are not what they seem at all! Very clever writing here. I thought I had things all figured out but I did not! I am also a sucker for a really good written epilogue and the one with this novella had me in tears. I would definitely recommend this book for a short, fun read!

Great, fun read!

Cassie knows something is missing from her very successful, high profile life as CEO of her family's cosmetics company. When her grandmother reveals that Cassie's divorce wasn't finalized eight years ago like she had thought, it's the chance she's been looking for to get some closure. She welcomes the chance to get Wyatt, her first love, out of her mind and move on with her life. Sparks fly when Cassie shows up in Wyatt's office, eight years after he thought he'd moved on.
This was a great, quick read! Both Cassie and Wyatt are really likeable characters, who have a lot of chemistry even after years apart. I really enjoyed this novella, reading it pretty much in one sitting. It was definitely a reminder why this author is consistently one I return to, for book after book.

Enjoyed this short, light reunited lovers story. Had enough of their backstory to feel remorse about what had happened between them. The prologue and epilogue featuring the matriarch of the heroine's family were clever and a bit heartrending. I did find it a bit intriguing that the hero and heroine weren't upset about her manipulation, but I guess when they found themselves finally back in each other's arms, they wouldn't let pride get in the way, wouldn't easily let the chance to be happy go.

Also, sexy car sexytime. <3

This is the first time I have read a book by Leslie Kelly. I really enjoyed it. I always find that novellas do not give the author time to develop the stories fully, but in this case I felt she did a good job. Both characters were likable. It was also easy to see what went wrong eight years earlier. The only thing that I think I would have like more was one real conversation after Cassie realized her part in their breakup. It would have been good to clear the air and have Wyatt acknowledge that he should have stayed and talked it out.

This is such a sweet and quick read. It is a story about young love and second chances. After a brief marriage, right out of out college, Cassie and Wyatt have not moved on. They have both dated but have not settled down. When Cassie decides she needs closure and seeks out her ex-husband sparks fly. Apparently, the attraction is as strong today as it was all those years ago. Can they get over the hurt of the past to move toward the future they both want? Great read!

Wonderfully sweet and romantic

Absolutely loved it. Two people who never really got over each other, lots of bad memories with the good, wonderful characters with witty dialogue. A must read for funny, romantic lovers.
