This was supposed to be a quick and easy read, but I got busy and it ended up taking forever. It was good except I was expecting more of a surprise. I think a good twist can be hard to do with so few characters. It kept me entertained!
**My Review: 4 Stars **** I’m a sucker for a "locked-room" mystery, and Save Our Sins definitely delivers on that front. The setup is classic—a group of eight students trying to escape a campus serial killer by heading to a remote Florida island. Of course, the minute they get there, things go sideways. What I Loved: The atmosphere is top-tier. Phynley Meyers does a great job of making the island feel like a cage rather than a vacation spot. Once the storms roll in and the supplies start dwindling, the tension becomes a living, breathing character. I also really appreciated how the "friendship" in this group started to fray almost immediately. Everyone has a secret, and watching them turn on each other felt earned and genuinely uncomfortable. It kept me guessing whether we were dealing with a stalker from the mainland or a traitor in the inner circle. My Gripes: While the pacing is generally fast, I did find a couple of the middle chapters dragged slightly as the group circled the same arguments. I also felt like one or two of the characters were a bit "slasher movie archetypal"—you know the ones who make decisions that have you shouting at the page. A little more common sense from the protagonists would have made the threat feel even more terrifying. The Verdict: If you like And Then There Were None or The Guest List, you’ll enjoy this. It’s a solid, atmospheric "whodunnit" that makes you want to double-check your own door locks. A very strong 4-star read for any thriller fan looking for a bingeable weekend book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Tell me why I spent the first 100 pages so sure that Dallas was the killer? I do not know if the author did this on purpose but he seemed too nice to be true and i thought I had the plot on my hands. Well, I was wrong. One thing that I loved about Greek Row and this book is how Meyers is able to put the narrations right where they need to be. The police reports right after a crazy scene, the flashbacks and don’t even get me started when Molly’s pov came up. I previously gave Greek Row five stars but this book exceeded all of my expectations. At the end I knew that Isabela and her boyfriend had something to do with it because they were just too quiet but I was not expecting the plot that Jana was cheating with Isabela’s boyfriend. One thing I loved about both books is how you see that no one is innocent. One thing I missed was maybe having a pov from Isabela because on my perspective she is articulated enough for me to want to see what was going through her mind. I am sure Phynley will be a great author and I am excited for her to release new books with different plots maybe with more “complex” topics. I already borrowed Greek Row to a friend and she is loving it as well! I hope she comes to Texas so I can get an autograph before she becomes too famous😭

Ummmm hello this was SO GOOD!! I did not guess any of the twists, but looking back, there were juuust enough subtle hints for the reader not to feel duped and like it was dropped out of nowhere, but also a small enough hint that they don't pay attention to in the moment. Very fast paced, and I loved the mix of chapters being present, recent past, articles, and detective interviews.
It’s not often that I’m so entranced by a book that I’m physically incapable of putting it down, but this was SUCH A GOOD READ! Great character development, clear setting, and constant internal battles with myself on “WHO DID IT!?” Truly a fun book for mystery/thriller lovers!
Phynley definitely has a bright future ahead of herself writing like this. I’ll definitely be reading Greek Row soon, and any of her other releases.
Sad I didn’t love this book. I really enjoyed this authors 1st book Greek Row but this one unfortunately wasn’t it for me.
I caught myself skim reading after about 30% way through the book and wasn’t really invested in the story. The book felt highly unrealistic to the point it was difficult to be interested in the story.
Last note but omg the MC was not nearly freaked out enough about her friend going missing and really didn’t start trying to find her til 50% through the book. Who has a game night when someone randomly disappears?!

One of my new favorites! I loved each plot twist, the characters were diverse and interesting, the story was fast paced and kept me wondering the whole time. I had to fight myself from finding spoilers, and I'm so glad I kept my restraint. The ending felt a little rushed, and some of the chapters dragged a little as if repeating the same conflict in a different font, but not bad enough to take away from the story for me.
like greek row (the other book by this author), this book was such a fun time! i was so engaged the whole time and was dying to know what happened. this reminds me a little of “knives out” and i just thought it was so much fun. i couldn’t put the book down. it wasn’t anything that changed my life and i wasn’t obsessed with the ending, but if you’re looking for a quick book to binge or get you out of a reading slump, i highly recommend!
After just finishing a 5 star fantasy read, I knew I needed to switch genres to avoid a slump and this book delivered!! I was almost positive I had it figured out at like 20% in and believed it until like the 70% mark only to end up being COMPLETELY wrong. Which is exactly what I want from mysteries. Super fast paced, and easy to read. Plus it’s by a brand new author! I’m about to go back and read her debut as well, very excited!
This is the third book I’ve read by Phynley Meyer’s and they never disappoint.
Such a fast paced book with short chapters which I love and appreciate!! The ending is always never what you guess it would be. The characters are relatable and the story instantly hooks you. Such an easy and fun, quick read!!! Def recommend!!
Literally sat and binged this and let me tell you jaw on floor. The premise of this book was so interesting and kept me ENGAGED!! Danica was on an investigative roll and I enjoyed having the police transcripts. Truly I was suspicious of everyone and did NOT guess who it was at all!! And the ending?!?! Gagged. I will read anything Phynley puts out honestly.
As a big true crime girly, this book was excellent. The plot twists had me so shocked throughout the story. It’s hard to believe this is only the authors second book because it was so well written! I’m definitely going to be reading Greek Row next! Loved this book! A very quick and entertaining read :)
It’s actually taken me so long to finish this I have no clue why. I definitely enjoyed it I will say it felt very very slow in the beginning and only pick up 50% through which didn’t bother me to much, I def did not expect that twist and I got teary eyed toward the end :(( overall very good and enjoyable
Just finished this less than 24 hours after the release. All I can say is WOW. My jaw dropped at the first plot twist, then the second, and the final reveal (I won’t spoil it) was just insane. I can’t get enough of these!! Hopeful that the author publishes more soon.
Phynley, I don’t know how you did it again, but you did!!! Your second book had even better writing than the first (which I didn’t know was possible). You’re incredible and I hope I can keep reading your new books for the rest of my life!
Another Phynley Myers 10/10!! I loved how this book had me guessing till the last second, and had a lot of twists and turns. I wouldn’t have ever guessed the ending and the plot with everyone cheating on eachother and it all mixing together was perfectly done. So good!! 🩷🩷
An isolated island, a group of friends, and a missing person with a serial killer on the loose — the perfect recipe for a fast-paced, gripping, popcorn thriller! The book was quick and easy to follow. I binged it in one day!
I read this book in 4 days which is crazy for me… It was SO good i, i was apprehensive at first but i ended up LOVING it.. although i guessed sawyer and isabellas from the start the motive was super creative tho, i wish they ended it with how many years of prison everyone got (4.5)⭐️

Somewhere between 2 and 3 stars for me. I didn’t strongly dislike or like it. I just never cared that much about anything happening. This is a thriller book about a friend group on a secluded, remote island. Perhaps would be best read in the summer, near the pool or beach for ✨ambience.✨
Easy thriller to read! Did not expect one of the plot twists, I saw the second one coming though. Gave it a 4 because it was just a bit underwhelming in an aspect. Very entertaining and had a good time reading it 💙.
Spoiler! Never saw max coming butttt Molly being alive reminded me of Greek Row and it felt repetitive but other than that such a fun and quick read! I’ll 100% read whatever she puts out next!
