The legend of Guan Yu is presented in a straightforward and simple way...now I understand why Guan Yu is so important to people of Chinese heritage. Really like this series; I have found several of these books at the library sale, I read them and then give then to my friends. Some really interesting myths are retold in a fun way!

December 3, 2021The Graphic novel "GUAN YU"by Dan Jolley is about an Ancient generals, he and his army fight with enemy.
In the beginning of the book, GUAN YU go to a village, and meet the LIU BEI and ZHANG FEI, then they go to the Taoyuan Ending.
As the book continues, GUAN YU go to campaign with his army, he bet with his army, they need to attack the HUA XIONG, he let a man to pour a bowl of warm wine, and he say, wait he get beck and drink the wine, then when he back, the wine is still warm.
In the ending of this book, GUAN YU and his army are attack a city, but he is get hurt, so he need to treatment, then they don't have the the ending.
My favorite character is GUAN YU, because GUAN YU is loyalty, and he is very cool about the warm wine to kill HUA XIONG.
And You should read this book because this book you can see how cool the GUAN YU have, and you can learn the history of China.

This is an exciting book. For example, Guanyu defeated a person that no one has ever defeated before. Never have I read something that has so many battles. I say this because I like to read funny comics so I rarely read books about battle. You should read this book if you like China history or like to read books about battle. Because this book contains many battle.

An interesting story and well illustrated. I wanted to learn more about Guan Yu because of the references in Princess Jellyfish. This helped some!
