Covert Danger is very reminiscent of the show, Covert Affairs. An empowered, strong woman uses her unique abilities to do what is right for her country. While on Sadie's journey, Ms. Carson allows you to visit various trip-worthy places: Amsterdam, Italy, Egypt, and New York City. The locations only add to the romance already building between the two main characters, Sadie and Sebastian. Their romance was of the James Bond insta-love connection type. The heat between the two of them was hot and got even hotter as the story progressed to a climactic explosion. She also exposes you to the art worldthe legit and black market—the modeling profession, and the different areas of law enforcement—the CIA, the Interpol, Private Investigators, and former military.
Sadie struggles during her journey to prove to herself and the CIA that she's a valuable spy and not only a pretty girl good at extracting info from the bad guys. Sebastian has to continually remind himself that Sadie is capable of taking care of herself and not in need of being rescued every moment. When they learn to work as a team, they become a force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately, the bad guy escapes their clutches and continues exacting his evil deeds. I am eager to read the entire series to learn if Sadie will catch her mouse. It is a regular "will she or won't she" catch the bad guy tale. Read Carson's Covert Danger if you want a spicy romance to go with your suspenseful adventure about spies and stolen artifacts.
