Mu #3

The Sacred Symbols of Mu

Rate this book
Occultist James Churchward was obsessed with the lost continent of Mu, home to the original human civilization, after learning of this mysterious and forgotten paradise from an Indian priest, who shared several ancient tablets written by the Naacals, the inhabitants of Mu. Or so Churchward claimed. Here, in this work first published in 1933, Churchward discusses his contention that all religions from across Earth share a common origin in Mu. In particular, he explores how symbols of Mu-gleaned, supposedly, from the ancient tablets-bear startling resemblances to everything from the Egyptian ankh and Chinese pictograms to Native American calendar glyphs. The reality of Mu aside, students of comparative mythology and fans of esoterica will find this a fascinating book. British inventor, engineer, and author COLONEL JAMES CHURCHWARD (1851-1936), the elder brother of mystic author Albert Churchward, also wrote The Lost Continent of Mu Motherland of Man (1926), The Children of Mu (1931), The Lost Continent of Mu (1931), Cosmic Forces of Mu (1934), and Second Book of Cosmic Forces of Mu (1935).

James Churchward is best known as a British born occult writer. However, he was also a patented inventor, engineer, and expert fisherman.

He was the elder brother of the Masonic author Albert Churchward (1852–1925.) He was a tea planter in Sri Lanka before coming to the US in the 1890s. In James' biography entitled My Friend Churchey and His Sunken Continent, he discussed Mu with Augustus LePlongeon and his wife in the 1890s. He patented NCV Steel, armor plating to protect ships during World War I, and other steel alloys. After a patent-infringement settlement in 1914, James retired to his 7+ acre estate on Lake Wononskopomuc in Lakeville, Connecticut, to answer the questions from his Pacific travels. In 1926, at the age of 75, he published The Lost Continent of Mu: Motherland of Man, which he claimed proved the existence of a lost continent, called Mu, in the Pacific Ocean.

Comparative Symbols analysis for Symbolists, asymbolists,...even Anti-symbolists.

Churchward is very complete; so, adding to the Mu symbols, he includes those of ancient Egypt, India, North and Central America...and beyond.

Right, Mu (or Lemuria) a lost (sunken) continent supposedly located in the Pacific ocean, is the source of many of other civilizations' symbols. Some discredit Mu... and Churchward, even the language of Mu: Naacal, and the "documents" he had access to while stationed in India. A Rishi taught Churchward how to read the language.

Yet, there are connections: yes, you got to connect the dots...and other figures. You figure.

(representation of the sinking of Mu)

Curious fact:
Jesus said while nailed to the cross:"Eli, Eli, lama sabac thani"; well, according to Churchward, this is not Hebrew,...but the language of Mu. Jesus in his sojourn in the Himalayan Monastery studied the language.

If only the Smithsonian could help...

An old text and controversial but it is important to read widely and not blindly accept everthing we are told, particularly in regard to history and cosmology. Why is the Pacific Ocean so large? If sea levels were indeed much lower during the Ice Age at the end of the Pleistocene age, then substantial areas of dry land would have existed, not only in the Pacific, but in the Atlantic and Indian oceans too. We must keep an open mind. That all civilisations may have shared a common origin should not be dismissed easily and given serious thought.

Facinating reading, Lemuria or Mu is here presented as the Motherland of humanity and its major religions and their symbols shedding light on some of the confusions of modern theologies.

Breaks down symbols used by the ancient civilization of LaMuria/Mu-Atlantis / NW Amexum / Atlantis (all these terms were uses to refer to the same land/ people throughout the book).

HIGHLY recommended if u plan on using symbolism and or spells in your day to day dealings.
