I saw the movie, "Diamond Head" many years ago & have seen it several times since, and loved it each time. The book is very different from the movie: not better, not worse, just different, but every bit as good!

Sprawling, old fashioned novel does an effective job of weaving Hawaii’s history, its politics & mores (circa 1960) and even volcanic science into a multi-faceted family saga.

Unexpectedly wise, and uncomfortable, and beautiful.
