bloody, sex filled depravity. it was like a crash i couldn’t look away from. i giggled, i gagged, and i weirdly fell in love with the chaos that is carly. not for the faint of heart so be warned

Okay, so.. I don't even know what to say about this one!
It should come with a more serious warning label than it does on the cover because "An xxxtreme horror story" is an understatement! ⚠️
It's SICK, twisted, bloody and totally taboo in a way I've never seen in a novella before.
If you look past the most sick parts of the sexual stuff, (which isn't for the faint of heart, trust me, you never get those scenes out of your head) it's actually kind of fun! It reminds me of a mix of alot of horror movies and I think that Carly definitely is one of a kind, a perfect Carny!😅
And the fact that it plays out at a carnival.. I mean, what could you expect from that setting? 🤡🎡
Do I recommend it? Well.. Maybe? If you are a totally disturbed human being 🤣🤣

This book is completely unhinged (in the best way)
I’m not even gonna try to pretend this is a “normal” read. It’s not. This book just throws you straight into the chaos and expects you to keep up.
Carly the Carny feels like walking into the worst version of a Vegas carnival—too loud, too violent, and already out of control before you even know what’s happening. Carly doesn’t come in as some badass either. She’s trying to survive, and you feel that right away.
But, that doesn’t last long.
Her change is rough, but personal. Loud but quiet in the same way. There’s no clean turning point where everything clicks. It’s more like something in her just finally gives out—and after that, there’s no going back. It gets mean fast. Not in a gimmicky way either, just… brutal and very intentional. And somehow, even with everything she does, you catch yourself rooting for Carly. Not because she’s “good,” but because you get why she snapped.
And look—this is not a book for everyone. Not even close.
It goes way further than most people are probably comfortable with, and it doesn’t care. Violence, taboo stuff—it’s all there, and it doesn’t soften any of it. I had a couple moments where I had to just stop and sit there like, “okay, yeah… that just happened.”
The author makes it pretty clear early on what you’re getting into. If you’re easily put off by anything, this is your sign to walk away. Seriously. This isn’t one of those books that tries to meet you halfway.
But, if you are into splatterpunk/xxxtreme horror; If you want something that actually pushes limits and doesn’t hold back?
This is exactly that.
The carnival setting really sells it too. It feels off the whole time, like something’s wrong even when nothing’s happening. There’s always that tension sitting under everything.
It’s messy, it’s over the top, and yeah—it’s kind of insane.
Five stars. No question.
Not for everyone, but if it is for you, you’re gonna eat this up.

Wowza. Definitely think about trigger warnings before reading. Having said that I loved this book. Super taboo and dark and I am here for it. I love how crazy Carly is in this book. She’s a little spitfire. I love all the different characters mentioned throughout also. I feel like I could picture everything vividly while reading this book. 5/5 ⭐️ worth the quick read for sure!

This was very dark and depraved circus smut and I couldn’t look away. The circus acts depicted in this book were taboo and not for the faint of heart. If you have any triggers at all, I would strongly caution against picking this one up. Carly was a badass FMC with some f‘up kinks. Right out of the gate, she came out swinging and didn’t ease up until the very end. There were aspects of this one that made me laugh, aspects that made me wince, and aspects that made me cringe in second hand embarrassment. Overall, this was a twisted read and I’m not sure how to feel about it.

Well this was definitely a wild ride. Another of craziness in this book. The xxx circus is basically what it sounds like. From having sex with dogs and horses, being binged out on cocaine and murder. Twisted asf for sure, give it a shot if your into weird and sick shit.

While this book may not be for everyone… it sucked me in from the moment I started reading it! If you’re a person who is easily triggered (or triggered in general🤣) maybe don’t read the book… but if you have no triggers and want a wild ride of a book… THIS IS THE BOOK!😍

This is unapologetically depraved carnival chaos at its finest. Carly the Carny throws readers headfirst into a lurid, taboo-soaked XXX carnival where excess isn’t just encouraged...it’s weaponized. Carly is an outrageously over-the-top clown fueled by lust, addiction, and a taste for blood, especially when someone is foolish enough to cross her.
What could have been pure shock value instead becomes something strangely magnetic. Carly is grotesque, seductive, dangerous and somehow impossible not to love. Beneath the grime, glitter, and gore, there’s a pulse of unexpected emotion that sneaks up on you. And that ending? It hit harder than I ever anticipated, leaving me genuinely misty-eyed.
This was my first experience with Madmanson, and if this is the standard, I’ll absolutely be back for more. Bold, filthy, brutal and unforgettable.

This was an entertaining read once you get past some disturbing parts of course, and that’s saying a lot with my adhd!
It was unhinged and taboo asf like the author was going for, and VERY different from my usual taste, as this was my first official splatterpunk read. Buuut, I DIDN’T dnf it, like I have been doing many books lately!
The ending took a turn I did not expect at all! The author did a great job writing this story and if you love unhinged, taboo themes revolving animals then it’s for you.
But beware, it’s explicit and can be a tough read for most!

If you are looking for a fast paced, crazy trigger filled read, step right up. This book has a demented FMC, a madman who will take you on a wild ride. If you want a off the charts but entertaining story please read this. It was not what I thought it would be and I did enjoy it, not sure what that says about me...PLEASE READ THE TRIGGERS but if your up for a new experience chose this book.

Wow! That is such a small word for such an AMAZING story! My heart was racing while reading the last chapter! There's everything for the EXTREME horror loving folks - horror, shock, sex, emotion, and yes, I giggled several times!. 😀 I highly recommend you read this book, if Extreme horror is your jam, but this is absolutely NOT for the faint of heart!

From start to finish this was a WILD ride. I had a friend reading it to me while I was working and honestly? 10/10 recommend that method because it made it so enjoyable. Definitely be responsible and check your triggers should you venture into this world, but if you decide you're reading you better buckle up and enjoy the show. 🎪✨🐎

This is sort of written like a long form NSFW Reddit fantasy staring a coked out Harley Quinn.
I’ve read a lot of extreme fiction and felt that this had a lot of extreme moments but we constantly moved on too fast. It was like shocking moment for one page then move on to something else.

Interesting
This books was quite intriguing when you get past a few parts. The suspense and thrill of the carnival will rest with Carly on her adventure to be the best. I have to say I did not expect how the book ended and if you wanna find out why give it a read. Its not for the faint of hearts though SA and animals are very much involved. You have be warned.

This is a wild one. It was epically ridiculous in the best way. It probably needs more trigger warnings or just warnings in general. It's hilarious and the storyline just works for what it is. If the blurb gets you, trust you won't be able to put it down once you start.

Carly the carny is quite a unique book wasn’t sure what I was getting into but it’s not just about explicit scenes there is quite a lot of interesting sections overall I enjoyed the book.

💥 NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED - SPOLIERS 💥
Ive read A LOT of fucked up books. Im not one to be swayed or put off by trigger warnings, i like dark, gross and messed up so this was not an exception. I thought I was about to read a gory, filthy, funfair horror and while I was partially right, what I fell into can only be described as absolute vile depravity.
Now depravity isn't something Im usually bothered about. In fact, I generally welcome it but it turns out....I actually have a limit. The story is about a young woman with a history of neglect, domestic violence and sexual assault as a child. After escaping this, she ends up joining a carnival as one of their acts and....wellllllll that's where it gets a bit sideways.
All ill say is it involves animals and she cant get enough. I won't lie, I found this a very tough read. This isn't the sort of thing Im down for and it did make me question what the hell I had gotten myself into. I skipped a lot of the worst parts, I literally couldnt bring myself to read them. It's grim and shocking which is what the author was aiming for, and on that point, he delivered.
Ive given it 3 stars purely because despite the content, its fairly well written. I suspect this will become a banned book purely because its just a bit too explicit in the acts performed by the FMC. Read at youre own risk but be warned, its not something easily forgotten and believe me, you'll really want to bleach your brain afterwards.

As you read this novella make sure you remember the rules: dont yuck someone else's yum, keep an open mind before someone else opens it for you, and have fun while you can!
MADMANSON's writing is perfection within this book. The fast pace lends to the thrill as we are given just enough gruesome details to bring us into the world without overwhelming you with "fluff" (which let's be real, there is NO fluff to be found in this world).
