David Baldacci has been writing since childhood, when his mother gave him a lined notebook in which to write down his stories. (Much later, when David thanked her for being the spark that ignited his writing career, she revealed that she’d given him the notebook to keep him quiet, "because every mom needs a break now and then.”)

Walker has worked for Five Eyes, a combined intelligence gathering unit of the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and clearly has valuable knowledge and intelligence. Enter Travis Levine whose investigation takes him from the USA to Australia and into the orbit of the Woolwines, a powerful family dynasty. Here, he’s partnered with DS Anais Jones of the NSW Police Force and the pair uncover quite the tangled and very dangerous web. Things become very complicated and exceptionally dangerous.

This latest thriller from David Baldacci is incredibly topical considering the news of late, has he got a crystal ball? It’s all so plausible and that’s what makes it so scary. Yes, it’s a fiction thriller but it’s grounded in reality and it’s fair to say a complex plot emerges.

There’s a lot to keep the interest with a Russian connection, global security issues, data centers, coding and AI to name but a few. It’s a fast paced plot that keeps me on my toes. It’s full of action, there’s potential and actual danger around every corner and as you’d expect from this author, there are plenty of good twists.

The Australian setting for most of the rollercoaster events, is absolutely fantastic and makes for a superbly atmospheric backdrop to what Travis encounters. I really like his partner against crime in Anais, she’s a strong female character who works really well alongside him. Travis is a good central protagonist and he’s very likeable and in this latest novel there’s a personal angle to the storytelling which helps to understand him further.

Overall, this is a tense high octane movie worthy thriller which is full of suspenseful moments.

All In by David Baldacci is an excellent, very highly recommended, action-packed thriller and the fourth novel in the 6:20 Man/Travis Devine series.

Travis Devine, current Department of Homeland Security agent and former Army Ranger is called to investigate after investigative reporter Theresa Lee is shot and Five Eyes associate Bill Walker is kidnapped and later his body turns in the Sydney Harbor. Walker was married to Australian billionaire Charlotte Woolwine, although he had recently filed for divorce. The Woolwine family is a wealthy, powerful Australian dynasty with worldwide connections. The U.S. is involved because of Walker’s work with Five Eyes, the intelligence-gathering alliance of the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Devine begins his investigation in NYC and then is sent to Australia, where he teams up with DS Anais Jones of the NSW Police Force. As Devine and Jones investigate, the danger is ever present and increases throughout the narrative. It becomes clear that Walker's death is tied to the Woolwine family, but the question is in what capacity. In the investigation they encounter rogue intelligence operations, Russian mobsters, compromised prisons, AI data centers, and a quiet campaign to redraw the global balance of power. Devine must use all his intelligence and special skills to survive this investigation.

All In is another compelling, well-written, fast-paced, well-plotted, riveting, action packed thriller in the 6:20 Man series that will hold your complete attention throughout. Even though it is part of a series it can easily be enjoyed as a standalone novel. The plot is intricate and complex, but it is so well written that the complications are easy to follow. You will find yourself racing through the pages to see what could possibly happen next, understanding that danger is around every corner. Quickly it becomes apparent that you can't trust anyone and everything may not be as it seems.

Devine and Jones are both strong characters and are portrayed as intelligent, fully realized individuals. You will be rooting for these two to uncover the truth and remain healthy and alive while doing so. There is a subplot following the hospitalization and failing health of Devine's father along with their complicated relationship. This adds another undercurrent of stress to an already challenging and dangerous situation.

I liked this one! Travis Devine is a great lead investigator, with both his Army Ranger experience and his MBA and time on Wall Street, and now turned agent for the Department of Homeland Security. It always makes for a great adventure when he’s on the case.

The 6:20 Man goes international in this story, taking Travis to Australia. Which I like, because I’ve definitely never read a detective thriller set “down under” before and it made for a fun setting. I also really enjoyed Anais Jones character as a strong female detective co-investigating with Travis.

There’s a good blend of some easy plot twists to figure out (always satisfying) but also several twists that I definitely did not see coming (somehow even more satisfying).

Overall, this is a good one! There’s quite a bit of action and I liked the duo of Travis and Anais teamed up to solve the case.

This time, Travis finds himself in Australia working alongside Sydney homicide detective Anais Jones as they try to uncover who is behind it all.

Overall, this was a great book and I enjoyed being back with Travis Devine. There were plenty of twists, action, and secrets to uncover, and I liked seeing Travis take on a case that went beyond the U.S. The story kept me interested and I definitely wanted to see how everything would come together.

That said, there were some moments that felt slow for me, and the pacing dragged a bit in places. It kept me from loving it as much as some of the other books in the series.

Still, a solid thriller and a good addition to the 6:20 Man series. I’ll definitely keep reading Travis Devine’s story!

When I finished David Baldacci’s latest book in the 6:20 Man series, I closed my Kindle App and just said WOW and thought of how well the book All In provides thrills, chills, suspense and an intriguing look at the quandary we are in today when it comes to the topic of AI and data centers. Once again Travis Devine, a former Army Ranger now a member of DHS, is brought in to solve a problem that seems to involve possible intelligence consequences. Bill Walker, a member of Five Eyes Alliance, goes missing off the streets of New York while meeting with a war correspondent who is shot and left for dead. Walker's body later washes up on a beach in Australia.

Travis is sent to interview Walker’s wife and her billionaire father-in-law deeply involved in AI. Devine is teamed with Sydney homicide detective Anais Jones. They find themselves constantly questioning what their findings are and how anything connects while often in danger. As the plot develops you accompany Devine in his search for answers often so convoluted you wonder what's next. The people they are facing are dangerous and no holds barred in response to their investigation. Who is responsible for what? Why are the Russians involved? Why the strange behavior of Walker before his kidnapping and why the strange response from his family. Who is behind what involves AI, data centers, billionaires, control and international security, exactly what we read in the news today. It makes you stop and think and learn along with Devine as you don’t want to miss a minute of the story and put the book down. As always Baldacci’s characterization is the best, Australia as the setting is perfect, and the topic is timely and very effectively told. David Baldacci seems to always deliver a good, suspenseful story. He does so again with All ln, the fourth book in the 6:20 Man Series. I have enjoyed all the books in this series with former Army Ranger Travis Devine who now works as a federal investigator. If you have not read this series, start with book one –The 6:20 Man, 2022.
This time the story is primarily set in Australia and concerns the theme of AI and Data Centers, both hot topics in current news cycles, so I looked forward to reading this novel. Devine’s joins DS Anais Jones in Sydney to help solve the case of a reporter and an Australian government agent attacked in NYCity. The reporter is only barely alive, and the agent washes ashore at an exclusive dock near Sydney. What is the connection, and why kill a man who was already dying of cancer?
The relationship between Devine and DS Jones builds with the story. She may be a cop in Sydney, but the body count and the government push back leaves DS Jones with nowhere to go. Devine’s more rouge approach to problems pulls the less experienced cop into a great deal of danger. Typical Baldacci fare.
The theme of this thriller is fresh and frankly chilling. The wealthy family of the dead agent reminds the reader where the real power in the world lives. All In is another Baldacci winner for me. I am giving it a 4 of 5 because I think that parts of the book drug while Baldacci moves the reader on to the next revelation. Overall, I recommend this book. In fact, I love this entire series.

Another blockbuster for Baldacci with plenty of action, suspense and a touch of romance at the end. Baldacci really makes us think about how dangerous data centers and AI can be without being monitored. I really enjoyed the Australian setting and felt that this was a great setting for this book. You will find plenty of twists and turns that will fuel your need to keep on reading. While this is the 4th in the series, it can be read as a standalone, but it does help to see the character development in each of the books.
While an investigator reporter was arguing with a gentleman, an intelligence operative, four masked man come upon them and tazze the gentleman, scoop him up and threw him into a van. Before the reporter could run, they shot her and left her dead. Travis Devine, a former Army Ranger now a DHS agent is asked to investigate this attempted murder and kidnapping. He is sent to Australia to follow-up with he kidnapped victim family. While there Travis is introduced to Anais Jones, who will be his liaison with the Australian Police. This is when the book really starts to explode with action, especially the connection between Travis and Anais. I could have finished this book in one day but then it would be done. I really enjoy this series and David Baldacci writing. I highly recommend this book to any reader. The book takes off quickly as Divine is tasked with investigating an attack in New York City that leave an investigative journalist near death and a key business analyst kidnapped. The investigation quickly takes a sharp turn, requiring Devine to go to Australia to find new leads on the case with no answers.

Once "down under" the action moves quickly. Devine finds himself caught in the middle of Australian law agencies while uncovering new twists and turns. Devine joins forces with DS Anais Jones, a local officer, to help try to solve the case. All fingers point to the Woolwine Corporation, a massive corporate enterprise deep in investments in AI, machine learning, data centers, and cybersecurity.

Various sub-plots emerge about the Woolwine family, and their ties to possible bad actors from Russia and the Middle East. Devine and Jones try to sort through the bureaucracy with each turn leading to more danger and action.

A timely novel with very scary implications, All In is a good choice if you like action adventure thrillers with a smattering of today's headlines thrown in.

I enjoyed the book and give it 5/5 stars.

The case takes an unexpected turn when the kidnapped man, an intelligence expert, turns up dead at an exclusive dock in Australia. Devine is sent there to investigate, and the mystery quickly becomes far more complicated than it first appeared.

I especially enjoyed the introduction of Anais Jones and the depth she brought to the story. Her developing relationship with Devine added another dimension, and I enjoyed watching the two of them work together to unravel the case. The Australian setting was also a great choice, providing a fresh and compelling backdrop for the story.

The plot is filled with twists and turns that keep you guessing, and I particularly enjoyed the AI theme. It was fascinating and educational while also being more than a little frightening in its implications.

Fast-moving, suspenseful, and engaging from beginning to end, All In is another clear winner from Baldacci!

Travis Devine is back in the 4th book in the 6:20 Man series by David Baldacci. This book starts off with two people being attacked on the street of New York with one being shot and the other thrown in a van. The person shot ends up in the hospital, but is wounded enough where she is in a coma and can't communicate to give details. The other person's body shows up in the Sydney Harbor, half way around the world, less than 24 hours later. Travis Devine must work to find why the people were attacked and one killed. He starts in NY but is eventually told to pack up and go to Australia.

Baldacci does a great job of weaving the story together and building the relationship between Devine and DS Jones. Nobody is safe in this book and there is a much higher body count than previous books. Baldacci does find a way to pull at the heart strings a bit by putting a family storyline for Devine into the novel and makes him feel more human.

Overall, it was a great read but for some reason felt like the story was running in the same circles most of the story and not really moving anywhere until near the end.

I give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars

Baldacci is a talented storyteller, and I couldn't put this book down. Fast-paced and suspenseful, it is a compelling read. I also gained insight into international intelligence and the ongoing battle for AI superiority. Devine’s personal story and relationships add a touch of humanity to what is essentially a great mystery-espionage narrative, as well as a cautionary tale for our times.

The previous three **6:20 Man** books were very good and kept me interested from beginning to end, but *All In* just didn’t hold my attention in the same way. I found myself putting it down more often than I wanted to pick it up—but I did finish it.

I consider myself fairly savvy when it comes to AI, but there was just too much unnecessary wordiness, and the story seemed to jump around more than necessary, making it difficult to follow at times. For me, this was certainly not Baldacci’s best.

In *All In*, our hero, Travis Devine, is tasked with investigating the murder of an American intelligence expert and the attempted murder of an investigative journalist. His investigation leads him to Australia, where he becomes involved with one of the richest and most powerful families in the country, whose primary businesses involve AI.

There are good guys, bad guys, and plenty of characters somewhere in between, along with the obligatory love interest. It wasn’t a bad read, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the first three books in the series for me. All In is an immensely readable book covering a multitude of topics —— divorce, murder, terminal cancer, family relations and dynamics, immense wealth, AI, investigative journalism, etc. The action, of which there is plenty, takes place mainly in New York and Australia with the primary character from the Department of Homeland Security office of special projects. His skills and dealings with people throughout the novel are remarkable. I can wholeheartedly recommend this novel to all readers with the warning that one may lose sleep trying to uncover those responsible for the misdeeds and also because of the frightening threat of what uncontrolled AI is capable of doing. I thank Mr. Baldacci for another excellent novel along with NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this novel prior to publication.

I really enjoyed All In by David Baldacci. This is another fast-paced and suspenseful thriller featuring Travis Devine. The story begins with the shooting of investigative journalist Theresa Lee and the disappearance of intelligence analyst Bill Walker, whose body is later discovered in Australia. Devine travels to Australia and teams up with homicide detective Anais Jones to uncover the truth.

The story moves at a quick pace and is filled with mystery, action, international intrigue, and plenty of unexpected twists. I especially enjoyed watching the pieces of the investigation slowly come together. Baldacci does an excellent job keeping the reader guessing and questioning who can actually be trusted. Overall, I thought All In was an entertaining and cleverly crafted thriller that kept me completely engaged. Fans of Baldacci and fast-paced mysteries will definitely enjoy this one.

When an investigative journalist is shot on the streets of NYC while with another man who was kidnapped at t BB e scene, Devine's boss asks him to look into the attack. When the kidnapped AI specialist floats up along a popular tourist dock in Australia, Devine is sent to try and find out what he can about the shooters. The dead man, Bill Walker, had family ties to an Australian billionaire who is trying to incorporate AI data sharing into his portfolio.
Great story and Travis is always top shelf. Characters,are greatly defined.
The story has twists and turns that you will not see coming and will keep you rapidly page flipping.
Superb mystery with absolutely intriguing side stories.

I think some authors are phoning it in instead of taking the time to think through the plot and actually come up with a good story, interesting characters, and solid writing. This is a good example.

I’ll struggle through up to 25% of a book before I give up, but that’s about my limit. I gave this one that long, started to give up, and then decided to push a little further. No luck.

The *6:20 Man* books have gone from “a pretty good thriller” (#1), to an OK thriller (#2), to a meh thriller (#3), and this one just isn’t worth my time (#4).

Maybe Mr. Baldacci is getting tired of his own characters? My advice: take a break and come back when you’ve got another good one. I have faith in you.

My favorite thing about a David Baldacci book is that the plots are complex enough to keep the books from feeling formulaic, yet told in a way that are easy enough to digest and enjoy. In All In, we meet Travis Devine again, this time in Australia as he investigates a kidnapping/homicide and attempted homicide with ties to the country's wealthiest family. I was hooked from the very first chapter, and the pacing was mostly consistent all the way through with a few lulls. I enjoyed that this was set mostly in Australia with new (to me) complexities of government and politics. Thinking about AI and data centers in this context is terrifying! Overall, a solid Baldacci read.

Loved this book! It begins with the attempted murder of an investigative journalist and the kidnapping of a computer analyst in New York City. Travis Devine is assigned to the case. When the body of the kidnapped analyst is found floating in Sydney Harbor, Australia (near his wife's home) Travis teams with an Australian D.S. and they follow every lead to identify and capture the bad guys. There are national security implications because the murdered man was a skilled coder and heavily involved in using artificial intelligence.
This is the first book I have read of the 6:20 Man series and I will be reading more!!

Devine--who is appearing in the fourth in this series--investigates the murder and attempted murder of two individuals with ties to a billionaire in Australia. As the story unfolds, the reader is immersed in the world of AI, corporate greed, Russian espionage as well as Devine's personal relationship with his parents. With the help of an Aussie detective, Devine confronts one danger after another. These are physical dangers to Devine and well as dangers to the world order. Baldacci gives a good wakeup call with his plot of AI and what ruthless people will do to have control.

Travis Devine, former Army Ranger, is the 6:20 man who has been dragooned into Homeland Security for I forget what reason.
On the streets of New York, an intelligence operative from Australia is kidnapped and the journalist he was working with gunned down.
Devine is sent to Australia, Sydeny and Canberra, to find out why the intelligence op was killed on the doorstep of the wife he was divorcing, one of the richest women in the world.
Despite the change of scenery, this is a bore. AI and Data Centers, and then Data Centers and AI.
I have to read about this kind of thing every day in the NY Times, I don't want it mucking up my fiction reading.

Impressive! While I have enjoyed other Baldacci novels, this was my first in the 6:20 Man series and it was great! Even without knowing the whole 6:20 Man backstory, this novel works as a standalone. It is exceptionally timely (if frightening), diving deeply into AI and data, as well as the upending of international relations globally. The personal elements of the story help round out the characters, and in no way detract from the pacing or action. It's a winner and I will certainly be going back to read the first three books in the series.

Part 4 in The 6:20 Man series was a head scratcher. I spent most of the book completely lost but thoroughly entertained.

This international thriller is set mostly in Australia where Travis Devine is up against billionaires and gangsters who are trying to corner the AI Market.

His sidekick, Anais Jones a Sydney homicide detective, was a bright spot to the story. In a good vs evil plot she was good.

This story would be great for fans of Jack Reacher or Baldacci’s Walter Nash series. I hope we get more installments.

This book is the fourth installment of the story of Travis Devine. He ends up in Australia dealing with an ultrarich family and the Russian mob in seeking to solve a murder and attempted murder. The book is fast paced and an engaging read. I look forward to the next installment in the series.

I am always down for a Baldacci thriller, though this one was a little slow for me. I felt like it just didn't take off as much as I would have hoped. Maybe it was my own timing with the story. Once it did get going I really enjoyed it just took a while. The setting of Australia added a twist. Overall a good story.

Another good addition to the 6:20 Man series! Action-packed from the first to last page with international intrigue, family drama, and a bit of romance thrown in for keeping us ready for the next in the series. Sturdy enough to read as a standalone, this one is full of thrills and chills.
