All In by David Baldacci is the latest installment in the 6:20 Man series, following Travis Devine as he heads overseas and gets caught up in an international conspiracy involving a murdered journalist, a missing intelligence analyst, powerful billionaires, rogue intelligence operations, and secrets that could have global consequences. This time, Travis finds himself in Australia working alongside Sydney homicide detective Anais Jones as they try to uncover who is behind it all.
Overall, this was a great book and I enjoyed being back with Travis Devine. There were plenty of twists, action, and secrets to uncover, and I liked seeing Travis take on a case that went beyond the U.S. The story kept me interested and I definitely wanted to see how everything would come together.
That said, there were some moments that felt slow for me, and the pacing dragged a bit in places. It kept me from loving it as much as some of the other books in the series.
Still, a solid thriller and a good addition to the 6:20 Man series. I’ll definitely keep reading Travis Devine’s story!

David Baldacci seems to always deliver a good, suspenseful story. He does so again with All ln, the fourth book in the 6:20 Man Series. I have enjoyed all the books in this series with former Army Ranger Travis Devine who now works as a federal investigator. If you have not read this series, start with book one –The 6:20 Man, 2022.
This time the story is primarily set in Australia and concerns the theme of AI and Data Centers, both hot topics in current news cycles, so I looked forward to reading this novel. Devine’s joins DS Anais Jones in Sydney to help solve the case of a reporter and an Australian government agent attacked in NYCity. The reporter is only barely alive, and the agent washes ashore at an exclusive dock near Sydney. What is the connection, and why kill a man who was already dying of cancer?
The relationship between Devine and DS Jones builds with the story. She may be a cop in Sydney, but the body count and the government push back leaves DS Jones with nowhere to go. Devine’s more rouge approach to problems pulls the less experienced cop into a great deal of danger. Typical Baldacci fare.
The theme of this thriller is fresh and frankly chilling. The wealthy family of the dead agent reminds the reader where the real power in the world lives. All In is another Baldacci winner for me. I am giving it a 4 of 5 because I think that parts of the book drug while Baldacci moves the reader on to the next revelation. Overall, I recommend this book. In fact, I love this entire series.

Another blockbuster for Baldacci with plenty of action, suspense and a touch of romance at the end. Baldacci really makes us think about how dangerous data centers and AI can be without being monitored. I really enjoyed the Australian setting and felt that this was a great setting for this book. You will find plenty of twists and turns that will fuel your need to keep on reading. While this is the 4th in the series, it can be read as a standalone, but it does help to see the character development in each of the books.
While an investigator reporter was arguing with a gentleman, an intelligence operative, four masked man come upon them and tazze the gentleman, scoop him up and threw him into a van. Before the reporter could run, they shot her and left her dead. Travis Devine, a former Army Ranger now a DHS agent is asked to investigate this attempted murder and kidnapping. He is sent to Australia to follow-up with he kidnapped victim family. While there Travis is introduced to Anais Jones, who will be his liaison with the Australian Police. This is when the book really starts to explode with action, especially the connection between Travis and Anais. I could have finished this book in one day but then it would be done. I really enjoy this series and David Baldacci writing. I highly recommend this book to any reader. Devine is sent there to investigate, and the mystery quickly becomes far more complicated than it first appeared.
I especially enjoyed the introduction of Anais Jones and the depth she brought to the story. Her developing relationship with Devine added another dimension, and I enjoyed watching the two of them work together to unravel the case. The Australian setting was also a great choice, providing a fresh and compelling backdrop for the story.
The plot is filled with twists and turns that keep you guessing, and I particularly enjoyed the AI theme. It was fascinating and educational while also being more than a little frightening in its implications.

Travis Devine is back in the 4th book in the 6:20 Man series by David Baldacci. This book starts off with two people being attacked on the street of New York with one being shot and the other thrown in a van. The person shot ends up in the hospital, but is wounded enough where she is in a coma and can't communicate to give details. The other person's body shows up in the Sydney Harbor, half way around the world, less than 24 hours later. Travis Devine must work to find why the people were attacked and one killed. He starts in NY but is eventually told to pack up and go to Australia.
Baldacci does a great job of weaving the story together and building the relationship between Devine and DS Jones. Nobody is safe in this book and there is a much higher body count than previous books. Baldacci does find a way to pull at the heart strings a bit by putting a family storyline for Devine into the novel and makes him feel more human.
Overall, it was a great read but for some reason felt like the story was running in the same circles most of the story and not really moving anywhere until near the end.
I give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars

Baldacci is a talented storyteller, and I couldn't put this book down. Fast-paced and suspenseful, it is a compelling read. I also gained insight into international intelligence and the ongoing battle for AI superiority. Devine’s personal story and relationships add a touch of humanity to what is essentially a great mystery-espionage narrative, as well as a cautionary tale for our times.

The previous three **6:20 Man** books were very good and kept me interested from beginning to end, but *All In* just didn’t hold my attention in the same way. I found myself putting it down more often than I wanted to pick it up—but I did finish it.
I consider myself fairly savvy when it comes to AI, but there was just too much unnecessary wordiness, and the story seemed to jump around more than necessary, making it difficult to follow at times. For me, this was certainly not Baldacci’s best.

I have long enjoyed Baldacci’s different series, and this one continues his strong track record for writing exciting, engaging thrillers. Travis Devine remains one of my favorite Baldacci characters, and I especially enjoyed the introduction of Anais Jones. Their developing relationship added depth to the story, and I liked watching them work together to solve the case. The Australian setting was also a strong choice and gave the book a fresh, compelling backdrop. This was the kind of read I could have finished in a day, but I wanted to savor it like a delicious dessert. I’m already looking forward to the next installment in the series. All In is an immensely readable book covering a multitude of topics —— divorce, murder, terminal cancer, family relations and dynamics, immense wealth, AI, investigative journalism, etc. The action, of which there is plenty, takes place mainly in New York and Australia with the primary character from the Department of Homeland Security office of special projects. His skills and dealings with people throughout the novel are remarkable. I can wholeheartedly recommend this novel to all readers with the warning that one may lose sleep trying to uncover those responsible for the misdeeds and also because of the frightening threat of what uncontrolled AI is capable of doing. I thank Mr. Baldacci for another excellent novel along with NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this novel prior to publication.

August 13, 2026I think some authors are phoning it in instead of taking the time to think through the plot and actually come up with a good story, interesting characters, and solid writing. This is a good example.
I’ll struggle through up to 25% of a book before I give up, but that’s about my limit. I gave this one that long, started to give up, and then decided to push a little further. No luck.
The *6:20 Man* books have gone from “a pretty good thriller” (#1), to an OK thriller (#2), to a meh thriller (#3), and this one just isn’t worth my time (#4).
Maybe Mr. Baldacci is getting tired of his own characters? My advice: take a break and come back when you’ve got another good one. I have faith in you.

My favorite thing about a David Baldacci book is that the plots are complex enough to keep the books from feeling formulaic, yet told in a way that are easy enough to digest and enjoy. In All In, we meet Travis Devine again, this time in Australia as he investigates a kidnapping/homicide and attempted homicide with ties to the country's wealthiest family. I was hooked from the very first chapter, and the pacing was mostly consistent all the way through with a few lulls. I enjoyed that this was set mostly in Australia with new (to me) complexities of government and politics. Thinking about AI and data centers in this context is terrifying! Overall, a solid Baldacci read.

Impressive! While I have enjoyed other Baldacci novels, this was my first in the 6:20 Man series and it was great! Even without knowing the whole 6:20 Man backstory, this novel works as a standalone. It is exceptionally timely (if frightening), diving deeply into AI and data, as well as the upending of international relations globally. The personal elements of the story help round out the characters, and in no way detract from the pacing or action. It's a winner and I will certainly be going back to read the first three books in the series.

I am always down for a Baldacci thriller, though this one was a little slow for me. I felt like it just didn't take off as much as I would have hoped. Maybe it was my own timing with the story. Once it did get going I really enjoyed it just took a while. The setting of Australia added a twist. Overall a good story.
