I Sat Down and Finished This in One Go
This novella moved fast, but it never felt rushed. The pacing was tight, the tension stayed high, and the story kept moving the entire time.
For a novella, the character development was really strong. Roxanne felt real in the way she was trying to rebuild herself after everything fell apart. Axcel could’ve easily been written immature because of the age gap, but he wasn’t. The age gap felt natural, and both of them still had growing to do throughout the story.
What I loved most was how present Axcel stayed. He paid attention to Roxanne emotionally and gave her what she needed instead of making everything about himself. Their connection felt genuine from beginning to end.
The chemistry between them was strong the entire book. High tension, high heat, and the spice absolutely delivered.
Tember writes some of the sweetest green flag MMCs. I picked this up planning to read a few chapters and ended up finishing the whole thing in one sitting.

I love a book that is finding love after heartache. I also love it when the roles are reversed. When you think of age-gap, you don’t think the girl is older. In this one, she is and she is a boss. Added bonus she is a Caribbean woman representing the country of Dominica. Another thing I love how secure our MMC Axcel is. He isn’t threatened by the age gap. If anything it feels like he wants to prove he is man enough. Novellas are fun to read because they are short and sweet. But I could have read like 10 more chapters of their story. The storyline was so original. You think there won’t be any consequences from a one night stand. Yea that didn’t happen cuz of all the people Roxy could have been with it was her ex-husband’s teammate. Love some drama and our main man Axcel didn’t let it phase him. He is added the list of book boyfriends that Tember has created. Go read this story about learning to love yourself after heartbreak and taking a chance at love again.

Tember writes it. I'm reading it hands down. I know I am going to get a green flag MMC everytime and this time we got a grumpy with everyone but her and chefs kiss perfection. The chemistry is amazing, the way he does not even try hide his obsession from anyone perfect. The fact that Roxanne’s ex husband Drew is Drew from She’s a Keeper he got everything he deserved. I loved seeing Lio and Jazz and knowing that if one person was going to support these two it would be Lio. 10/10 read cannot wait for more! While this is on KU you can also get the E-Book from Tember’s sight with art work inside. Including showing how Roxanne absolutely does have upper body strength.

As a "I'm not usually into novella's" girly, I was so thrilled that this one still gave me everything I love in a novel.
Axcel and Roxanne were such a sweet and well matched couple. They met each other on their level, and the chemistry was off the charts!
Tember still found a way to fit spice, some conflict and resolution, some relatable insecurities, banter and fun dates, and a couple working through history based trauma all into a shorter story, without leaving me feeling unsatisfied. While I'm still a full sized novel devourer, this little book packed a big punch, and I loved it.
