Rikkina
This book was definitely an adventure. I'm not going to give away too much because it's definitely a must read. Rikkina is a strong character that's set to take over for her mother. However, Abbadon has been sent to assassinate her. When he sees her though he immediately wants her. Their story is full of both love and hate, neither wanting to be with the other, but unable to stay apart. You need to read the book because there are so many lovable characters and so much going on. Be warned that there is a cliffhanger so this week leave you wanting book 2.

I absolutely loved this book! The characters are exceptionally well written and each one brings something unique to the story. Our FMC stands out as strong and resilient, never allowing anyone to walk over her. The MMC is a silent, brooding type that is always easy to adore. Torsten is the epitome of a "hunky dreamboat”.
However, my absolute favorite character is Demi. She bursts onto the page like a sassy fireball, full of energy and wit. Demi’s lively personality makes her unforgettable, and she quickly became my favorite character of all time. I do hope we get a spinoff of her!
While Selk was not written in length, I am hopeful that his character will be explored further in the next book. His presence piqued my curiosity, and I look forward to learning more about him.
Though the book contains some spicy scenes, the strength of the story lies in its outstanding plot. The pacing is expertly handled; nothing feels rushed or forced. The intense buildup leading to the moment when the two main characters finally meet is truly nail biting.
Be warned: the book concludes with an epic cliffhanger. Combined with unexpected plot twists toward the end, I was left completely stunned and desperate for more. The final chapters left me a mumbling mess, and now I absolutely cannot wait for the second book, I need it now!

This novel takes you on an adventure where blood oaths are sacred and curses abound. Where Valkyries descend upon battlefields to take those who are worthy, and the Chosen of Odin carries his Ravens upon Earth, using her body as the vessel in which they reside. Which no one must know about. Where assassination attempts go awry and love is lost, found, and lost again. There is some spice in the book (I would say about 2 to 3 out of 5) but it is tastefully written into the storyline and works with the progression of the plot and character development. The majority of the plot takes place on a battlefield and in an army camp.
If you like Norse mythos, medieval esque battles (with swords and daggers and arrows etc), double agents, political intrigue, familial secrets passed down from generation to generation, and doing some snoop work (as there are secrets inferred off page as well) this is a very fun read. It is written in multiple POV.

If you like Norse mythos, medieval esque battles (with swords and daggers and arrows etc), double agents, political intrigue, familial secrets passed down from generation to generation, and doing some snoop work (as there are secrets inferred off page as well) this is a very fun read. I need more!
I absolutely love the Norse Gods and Vikings. This book brings this to life so beautifully.
Rikkina is a fearless strong woman, set to take over her mothers throne in a world of kings. She’s blessed with a power from the gods, a viscous one she must keep secret. She is resilient, she understands her duty, she respects her mother even tho they don’t have the best relationship. I feel like this book was able to portray that tough love, that pride a mother has. These are women born with this large responsibility . Keeping this going for generations, raising strong resilience in each one that comes next.
Abbadon is a broody morally gray man set out on a mission to eliminate anything and everyone standing in the way of his king. Nothing stops him in his tracks, nothing until Rikkina.
The push and pull, the love and passion they have for each other in this book is sooo good! But they are two people with different paths, two people led by the gods and duty and that doesn’t lead them to a happy ending together.
I cannot wait until book 2! I need more, I need to see how this all plays out and what happens to Rikkina. Because, wow, that ending. What?!!!

Beneath the Wings of a God had such vivid imagery that it made me yearn for the artistic ability needed to portray the scenes. Beautiful darkness, strength from within, and heartbreaking trauma paint the picture of Rikkina’s journey through well-written prose and passages that hit hard right where it hurts (in the very best way).

I found this book was overall a good read and liked the authors writing style. This is the first time reading a story line of this sort. It has the feeling of the Viking, mid evil era and at times Game of Thrones. This book has a strong female character named Rikkina and she was in love with Abbadon who was the assassin from the other village. Which was a big no no. The ending was very sad where Rikkina had taken her life as a sacrifice for her people and the love she will no longer have.

Must Read!
This book had me glued to my seat! I finished within 48 hours because I just telling myself “one more page.” This book was written differently than any other book I’ve read and that alone had me enticed. I still have sooo many questions, so I know book 2 will for sure have me in a CHOKEHOLD!
If you’re on the edge, indecisive or are just unsure about proceeding- read it. You won’t get spoilers from me but what I will say is THE ENDING… whew 🤯

What an enticing book filled with suspense, betrayal, lust, and adventure. Rikkina is a badass female warrior who has to work twice as hard as her male counterparts for a shred of respect. Her would-be assassin stalks her as she fights for her realm, only to find himself wanting her with a desire he cannot ignore. Her journey will leave you wanting more. I cannot wait for book two so I can discover more of her story and where the road will take her and the other characters.

The book was a really emotional and interesting read. The characters went through a lot, and I liked seeing their relationships grow throughout the story. The book had drama, romance, and heartfelt moments that kept me hooked. Overall, it was a good read with strong emotions and memorable characters.

What a wild ride! Such a wonderful adventure that I was taken on that will remain with me for a long while.
I LOVED Rikkina and Torsten from page one. Rikkina is such a badass FMC with so many secrets. Torsten is the big brother that I would love to have in my corner!
Abbadon, the MMC, who I was skeptical at first about him (since he was sent to literally kill the FMC) but I grew to like him and I enjoyed the rollercoaster relationship they had.
Without mentioning any spoilers, I will stop talking about the characters so much! I don't want to give anything away! But this book made me cheer and weep at times I didn't think would hit me so hard.
I was chatting with the amazing author on Threads while reading and would comment on the parts I read. The author is an amazing person who took the time to read my reactions and comment. She's awesome!
