Miles, Lord Burlington, has a plan – return to the top spot as the world’s best polo player.
Oh, and get revenge on the guy who nearly killed him.
Ruby Lanson has simpler ambitions – become a polo player. So far she’s not doing well, and her future is an opaque vision of life as a groom, fighting off handsy patrons.
When Miles Burlington charges into her Colorado stable, first impressions aren’t good. She’s less enamored of his status than he feels she should be, and places him firmly in the category of entitled billionaire.
But Miles isn’t to be deterred.
He’s vowed to do whatever it takes to reach his goal. If offering Ruby a job at Foxleigh Park is the price to pay, then sobeit.
For Ruby, this is the opportunity she never expected, and jumps at the chance before she can think twice. Or worse, linger on Miles’s blue eyes and deep dimples.
Except visa complications means there’s only one solution.
Get married.
Because what’s the big deal? It’s a season playing polo in England, and annulments happen every day.
But the longer Ruby lives with Miles, the quicker she realizes he’s not who she thought he was. While Miles begins to think this marriage malarkey might be something he could get behind.
As the season progresses, matches are won and truths become known, Ruby and Miles soon have a decision to make. . .
Admit their marriage might be the most important match of all.
Lulu started writing by accident, and somehow found herself stuck in a fictional world of ice hockey, baseball and billionaires. A world she has no plans to leave. She's the creator of The New York Players Series, The Tuesday Club Series, and The New York Lions - the worst team in the M.L.B.
More recently she's ventured across the Atlantic to where her latest novel is set - the beautiful cities of Oxford and Cambridge, and the annual rowing showdown on the River Thames.
She's a big fan of strong heroines, because those fierce alphas need someone to keep them in check. You'll find her navigating her way through Romance Land one HEA at a time, and trying to figure out the latest social media platform she needs to post to.
“Worse still are the tingles zinging over my body—across my chest, tightening my nipples, down my stomach, and hitting between my legs. Little pulses because of how hot this fake husband of mine is, who’s still holding on to my hand, his fingers spinning my wedding ring around and around on my finger, reminding me we’re tied together.” 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Oh Miles, that cocky bachelor taken down by Ruby who didn’t fall at his feet like a simpering little woman, Ruby who gave him hell. It didn’t take long for this fake marriage to start feeling like neither of them wanted it to end. I loved that Miles went all in on this fake marriage. He took her all over Valentine Nook introducing his wife to all of the locals, getting his brother’s girls to take her out on a girls night. He was almost possessive in the way he would twirl her wedding ring on her finger, calling her “My Wife”. Sigh, in love Miles is a swoony Miles. And Ruby is Miles equal in her knowledge and skill at Polo, she sees him, not the impulsive reckless boy everyone thinks he is, but a passionate man who just wants those around him to be happy and cared for.
“I understand perfectly that when you fall in love with someone so completely, they become your peace in the middle of chaos. That when you fall in love, you become the least important part of the equation because your day starts and ends with the sole purpose of making them happy. I’ve never been so excited to get out of bed and make someone coffee.”
Miles and Ruby’s book was everything I had hoped it would be.
Ruby is the only one who has ever stood her ground with Miles and as a result he is intrigued by her. Spending so much time together with a shared interest in horses is an added bonus.
This series just keeps delivering. I loved this story. Thanks to Lulu Moore for the advanced copy.
I adored being back in Valentine Nook, this time for Miles’ story. I’ve been intrigued by him since the first book in the series, and I absolutely loved finally getting his story.
Ruby is down on her luck and life just isn’t going to plan. Honestly, from her and Miles’ first meeting, you just knew these two had chemistry.
True to himself, Miles can’t help but come to Ruby’s rescue with his signature charm, and the two embark on a marriage of convenience. Sparks fly, Miles falls first and he falls hard, and despite coming across as nonchalant and unfazed, he cares so deeply about the people he loves and his team.
Ruby, despite her initial worries, settles into Valentine Nook and the team perfectly. She’s a talented polo player, and Miles’ belief in her gave her that little bit of confidence she needed to really shine.
It’s no secret Lulu is my favourite author, and this small village series has become such a comfort read. Every book is full of banter, spice, and so many heartwarming moments. I’m still hoping for a redemption arc for Clementine, and I know Lulu always has a way of lining things up exactly as they’re meant to.
Thank you to the author & team for allowing me to be part of this series. I’ve loved every adventure with the Burlington family so far, and I’m so excited for whatever comes next. I’m incredibly grateful. 💕
• polo sports romance • enemies to lovers • fake marriage • found family • reformed playboy
I KNEW I’d love Miles (and Ruby)! He’s the playboy polo player who everyone sees as reckless and impulsive but Ruby quickly learns he is not.
Miles is the youngest of the Burlington boys and we’ve gotten a glimpse of the guy we all assumed would never settle down. He focuses on polo, girls, and partying. But in reality there’s so much more to him.
He and Ruby meet when she nearly plows him over on her horse and they reconnect and offers her a position on his team.
Their story is full of love and patience and finding their true selves and how their life could possibly be better with each in it.
Loved this book and so excited to see how Clementine and the enemy shake out!
I had the pleasure of receiving this as an e-ARC and voluntarily will be giving my honest review. Wow wow wow!! I absolutely loved this story of Miles and Ruby!! I devoured this book and stayed up late many of nights to finish!! This is a Polo sports romance with spice that you will absolutely love!! I can’t wait to see how Clementine story plays out!! Loved this series!!
“Miles, Lord Burlington, has a plan – return to the top spot as the world’s best polo player”
I absolutely loved Foxleigh Park by Lulu Moore; it is an incredible small-town enemies to lovers/marriage of convenience love story. It is the fourth book in The Valentine Nook Chronicles series. Lulu Moore continues to show that she is an amazing storyteller and is a must-read author for me. I was hooked from the first few pages of Foxleigh Park, it down was impossible to put down, and I loved every moment on every page. Foxleigh Park is one of the most enjoyable books that I have read recently. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? Foxleigh Park is the story of Miles “Milo” Burlington, polo player, runs a polo yard, and plays polo for the Foxleigh Flyers and Ruby Lanson, horse groomer. I love all the initial interactions between Ruby and Miles, especially on New Year’s Eve in Aspen. Miles runs into Ruby again he stops in Aspen to purchase a new horse, Calamity. Ruby just lost her job and her living accommodations, and her former boss has blackballed her. Miles offers Ruby a horse groomer position for the season at Foxleigh Park. Miles reaches out to the family lawyer, Arthur for visa for Ruby, Arthur informs Miles that it would not come in time for the next polo season, and jokingly informs Miles that he could always marry her. That is just what they did. I love the significance of the engagement ring that Miles gives to Ruby and the wedding bands that he buys for each of them. One of my favorite parts is that Story took Ruby shopping for a wedding dress. I love that Ruby selected something that was true to her. After getting married, they get Calamity, and Ruby’s horse, Maverick ready to send to Foxleigh Park. I love Maverick’s relationship with Miles. Conversation between Ruby and Miles flows so easily, I love the chemistry between them and the easy banter and flirting, and everything that they do together. Ruby and Miles share secrets with each other, Ruby reveals her relationship with her family and Miles reveals his accident at the last England’s Cup. While in Valentine Nook, Miles trains Ruby, and helps her become a polo player. I love that she played polo on Alex’s team and they won. As Ruby and Miles continue to spend time together being fake married and working together things change between them and quickly heat up. They both know that their marriage has an end date that coincides with the end of the polo season. I love that Miles calls Ruby, “Trouble” and how Miles's siblings call him Milo. I love all the bittersweet moments in Foxleigh Park, especially the moment the Miles and his brothers share a toast after the England’s Cup match. Another favorite part of the story is the heart-to-heart conversation between Ruby and Miles and Miles with his siblings. I love all the plot twists and surprises in Foxleigh Park. I love the changes that are willing to make to have a life with one another and finally admit that they love each other, and do not want their marriage to end. I love the ending of their love story and how Miles wins England’s Cup. I love all the memories that Miles has of his father. I love the storyline, the romance, and the family dynamics, it was such an enjoyable book to read. I love the descriptions of Valentine Nook and all the activities that the Burlington brothers do. My favorite part is the epilogue is told from Miles’s perspective it is the perfect ending to their love story. I love the promises that Miles makes to Ruby’s father. I love how Lulu Moore incorporates the title of the book into the love story. Foxleigh Park is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a love story, Lulu Moore did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments as well as plot twists and surprises that filled this page turner. I love all the lighter moments that made me laugh. I love Ruby’s friendship with Haven, Story, and Clemmie, and how her relationship changes with Miles's family after their initial reaction to their wedding. I really enjoy how the book is told in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the main characters. I love how Lulu Moore always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong, sassy woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy royal. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Foxleigh Park, the characters feel like family and friends. I love how the Burlington family welcomes Ruby into their lives, I especially love the gift that Miles’s mother gives to Ruby and the significance of the gift. I love Max and how he continues to truly make the story. I love all the characters in Foxleigh Park, they like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I am looking forward to reading all the books in the series. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? My favorite part is the text stream throughout the book. I am looking forward to reading Clementine’s book, so glad the changes that were made in the relationships between her brothers and the man she loves. I thoroughly enjoyed Foxleigh Park, who does not love a small-town enemies to lovers/marriage of convenience. Highly recommend this incredible love story. I received an advance copy from the author.
♾️⭐️ I wasn't prepared for how completely this book was going to consume me.
Foxleigh Park didn't just cure my book hangover... ...it completely obliterated it.
The thing is... I never really left Valentine Nook. Even after finishing Honeysuckle Lane, I couldn't stop thinking about Hendricks and Story. I missed this world so much that I'd already started re-listening to the series, so to say I was excited for Miles and Ruby's story would be the understatement of the year.
As soon as this ARC dropped, I dropped everything. Well... almost everything. Work was literally the only thing dragging me away because I survived on TWO HOURS' SLEEP -I could not put this book down. I absolutely inhaled this book. Devoured it. Licked every last crumb. And now all I want to do is go back to the start and fall in love with Miles and Ruby all over again.
Can we also take a moment to appreciate the fact that this was my very first proper polo romance? I've read romances where polo is just a little micro-trope in the background, but never one where it was such a huge part of the story. Safe to say... I now need approximately one hundred more polo romances because I am officially obsessed.
Lord Miles Burlington... where do I even begin? We've been getting little glimpses of his story ever since Once Upon a Christmas Tree, so I've been waiting rather impatiently for this one. The youngest Burlington brother. England's champion polo player. The notorious playboy who swore marriage would never be on the cards... ...only to meet the one woman he never saw coming. Literally. She hosed him down! And honestly? I don't think either of them ever stood a chance after that.
Miles was so much more than the charming aristocrat everyone thought they knew. Beneath the confidence, the title and the reputation was a man still carrying the emotional weight of an accident that nearly took everything from him. Watching those layers slowly peel away and discovering the man behind the playboy was one of my favourite parts of the story.
And then there's Ruby...
I absolutely adored her.
She didn't care that he was Lord Miles Burlington. She didn't fall at his feet because of his title. She challenged him, frustrated him, kept him on his toes and, for probably the first time in his life, made him work for it.
Ruby had spent her whole life loving polo. She didn't need someone to introduce her to the sport—she simply needed someone who truly saw her talent, believed in her and reminded her she belonged there. Watching Miles become that person for her honestly melted my heart.
The slow burn was exquisite, the chemistry absolutely sizzled, and "my wife" becoming Miles' whole personality was the icing on the cake.
Honestly... I absolutely ATE. IT. UP.
The banter had me grinning like an idiot. The tension was ridiculous, and because Lulu took the time to build their friendship, trust and emotional connection first, every single romantic moment hit that much harder.
And don't even get me started on the marriage of convenience... I LOVE this trope, and Lulu absolutely nailed it. The marriage might have started as a convenience, but Miles? The moment he looked at Ruby and said, "I don't do fake," I was done for.
Lulu gave Miles and Ruby the time to become each other's safe place before they became each other's forever. Nothing felt rushed, nothing felt dragged out, and every little step in their relationship felt completely earned, and perfectly paced: and I loved watching them find a home in each other. And somewhere between all of that... "My wife" became Miles' whole personality... and honestly, I absolutely ATE. IT. UP.
One of my favourite things about returning to Valentine Nook is that it genuinely feels like coming home. Catching up with the Burlington family, seeing all the brothers and their partners again, and spending time with these characters I've grown to love made this story even more special.
Lulu has a gift for making every return to Valentine Nook feel like coming home... and somehow every visit is even harder to leave. I absolutely adore Lulu's writing. There's something so effortless about the way she tells a story that you instantly disappear into her world. She balances humour, heart, vulnerability and swoon so beautifully that every time I return to Valentine Nook, I fall a little more in love with it...which it crazy to me because this series already lives in my soul.
Lulu is one of my forever authors for a reason, and Foxleigh Park is another reminder of exactly why.
Some stories give you a book hangover. Foxleigh Park cured mine... ...and left me homesick for a place that doesn't even exist. That's how much I adore Valentine Nook. 🩷
Inject this entire series into my veins. I'm not ready to leave. I don't think I ever will be.
Miles wants to get back to the number 1 position in the polo world. To do that, he needs Ruby. To get her, he needs to marry her, because it's not possible to get her a work visa in the short amount of time they have before the polo season starts. For a renowned playboy, marriage isn't going to be easy. Or will it? Because he's finding that what started as enemies to fake marriage is quickly starting to feel real. Miles isn't who she had thought, and her walls are lowering because of it.
Ruby thinks a lot less of Lord Miles than women usually do, than he wishes she did. Rich playboys don't do it for her. Except maybe this guy, her new boss and new fake husband, isn't really who she had thought. She's starting to see the real man behind the facade, and she's falling hard. Their marriage is supposed to have an expiration date, but the longer they're married, the more they both are seeing forever together.
This series keeps getting better with every couple. I love Miles and Ruby, they are so good together. They start as soft enemies, but all the close proximity means they quickly get to know who the other truly is, and can't help but fall for each other in the process. I want to live in Valentine Nook, with all the Burlingtons and the people they love.

Foxleigh Park is everything I have come to love about Lulu Moore's writing. Warm, witty, emotional, and filled with unforgettable characters, this fourth book in the Valentine Nook Chronicles delivers a beautiful marriage of convenience romance set against the glamorous and competitive world of polo. While it can be enjoyed as a standalone, returning to Valentine Nook and catching up with familiar faces made this story even more special.
Miles is determined to reclaim his place as the world's best polo player while carrying the emotional and physical scars of his past. Beneath his title, wealth, and confidence is a man who has been through far more than most people realize. I loved watching his walls slowly come down as Ruby challenged his assumptions, refused to be impressed by his status, and treated him like everyone else should.
Ruby was such a fantastic heroine. She is hardworking, fiercely independent, and determined to earn her place in a sport where opportunities don't come easily. Her passion for polo and refusal to let anyone define her made her impossible not to root for. I loved how she never lost sight of her dreams, even when life threw obstacle after obstacle in her path.
The chemistry between Miles and Ruby was effortless from the very beginning. Their banter had me smiling constantly, and the gradual shift from reluctant employer and employee to fake spouses and eventually something much deeper felt completely natural. The marriage of convenience trope was handled so well, allowing their friendship, trust, and love to develop at a believable pace.
The polo setting was one of my favourite parts of the book. It's not a sport that appears often in romance, and Lulu Moore brings it to life with enough detail to make it exciting without overwhelming the romance. The behind the scenes look at the players, horses, and competition added a fresh and engaging backdrop that helped the story stand out.
Alongside the romance, there are moments of vulnerability, healing, family, and self-discovery that give the story real emotional depth. The supporting cast continues to add warmth and humour, making Foxleigh Park feel like another visit with friends.
Foxleigh Park is a charming, heartfelt romance full of laugh out loud moments, slow-building chemistry, emotional healing, and plenty of swoon. If you enjoy marriage of convenience, workplace romance, sports romance with a unique setting, and heroes who fall completely and wholeheartedly, this is one you won't want to miss.
I have read all the previous books in this series, so I was excited to finally get Miles’s story. Throughout the earlier books, Miles always felt misunderstood to me. Everyone saw him as the arrogant playboy, but it seemed like he was playing the role everyone expected rather than showing who he truly was. Tropes in this book include enemies-to-lovers (my favorite!), close proximity, marriage of convenience, and a reformed playboy.
Miles Burlington is a polo player from Valentine Nook. Known for his reputation as a ladies’ man, he seems to care only about polo and his beloved horses. But beneath that image, Miles is still carrying the emotional scars from the traumatic near-death attack by his rival, Santiago Torres. While on a family trip to Aspen, he has an unexpected run-in with a rider on a wild horse—one that quickly turns into more than just a chance encounter.
Ruby Lanson is a small-town woman from rural Iowa with one dream: becoming an elite polo player. She leaves home at eighteen determined to make that dream a reality, only to discover that climbing the ranks from groom to professional player is far more difficult than she imagined. After a few memorable—and less-than-friendly—encounters with the arrogant Miles Burlington, she’s shocked when their paths cross again months later, and he offers her the opportunity of a lifetime: move to England and train as a polo player.
When visa issues threaten Ruby’s future, Miles proposes a marriage of convenience so she can stay in England and continue pursuing her dream. But can a fake marriage survive growing feelings, or will Miles fall back into his old playboy habits?
One of my favorite parts of this book was watching Miles grow. Miles slowly lets go of the version of himself that everyone expected him to be and learns to be vulnerable, proving there’s much more to him than the reputation he’d built. I also loved watching Ruby realize that there will be someone to always support her and be her biggest cheerleader without letting her down.
Their chemistry was fantastic from the very beginning. The banter between them had me smiling, and the enemies-to-lovers tension carried perfectly into the marriage-of-convenience storyline. Watching their relationship evolve from irritation and misunderstandings into trust, friendship, and love felt natural and rewarding.
If you’ve been waiting for Miles’s story since the earlier books, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Lulu Moore gave him the depth he deserved while introducing a heroine who was easy to root for. I really enjoyed this addition to the series and can’t wait to see where Valentine Nook goes next.
"Leaning forward, I find her left hand, sandwiching it between my palms. Her ring slips around, imprinting against my skin, because why not? She's imprinted herself everywhere else."
🏇💍🛁
A novella and three books in, I think I've finally found the Burlington brother that I would keep for myself 🤭Foxleigh Park gave me the story of Miles Burlington and I will forever be grateful for it.
Give me that cocky, confident, and charming reformed playboy anytime of the day. Especially with the kind of dynamic Miles and Ruby had where he got just as much as he gave because he needed a woman to drop him down a peg - I'm sold! On second thought, I'll let Ruby keep him because she's way fiercer and feistier than me; a total queen on and off the field. It's amazing and exhilarating to read about a couple that are pieces of the same puzzle just fitting so perfectly in every edge, nook, and cranny.
Their marriage of convenience plot was definitely a bit bonkers for me, but it certainly provided the kind of forced proximity with the perfect amount of tension and yearning. Added with my tried and true love for Lulu Moore's writing of fluff, humor, spice, and emotional depth - I was left giggling and cheesin' and losing my mind at the slowburn trajectory of Miles and Ruby's story. A total swoon fest that had my invisible home audience getting blessed with all the reactions from me. The way he slowly realized he was obsessed with her was everything to me. And his habit of playing with her engagement and wedding rings to keep him calm? I'M MELTING.
This book also happens to be my first Polo romance book and dare I say I need more. As a Formula One fangirl, it made sense that I was all in for all the polo action in this book because it definitely reads like the equine version of F1. With that being said, both Miles and Ruby being athletes definitely made the sports romance girly in me even more invested. It's the high stakes, adrenaline, and the special connection/language unique to only the two of them that definitely resonated in me.
Of course it's not a Valentine Nook Chronicles book if it didn't have the small English town charm and shenanigans I always eat up. Add in the whole Burlington clan and Agatha and Eddie and Churchill - it's the family and found family of my dreams; they had me cackling and laughing the whole time. Don't even get me started on the family drama with Clementine! Omg, I just know the next book will be juicy.
I would like to extend my warmest gratitude to Lulu Moore and The Smuthood for kindly sending me an Advanced Readers Copy of this book 💛
This is the fourth book in the Valentine Nook series and once again Lulu Moore delivers a great book. Miles tracks down Ruby who knocked him into a bush in the previous book and the meeting doesn’t go his way. I laughed out loud at the thought of his face when she soaked him with a hose. Wanting her to play polo for his team is the lifeline she needs as she had to leave her last job and got blacklisted by her creepy ex boss. But Miles finds out getting a visa takes time and he needs her at Foxleigh straight away. After a throw away comment from his lawyer he finds himself proposing marriage to the feisty woman who seems to really dislike him. Ruby think Miles is an arrogant playboy but when he says she can bring her beloved pony Maverick, she agrees. Hendrick, Story and Max form the wedding party, as they get married in Aspen. Once back in England, Miles has to face his family and Landon isn’t pleased but his mother doesn’t seem to mind. Miles works Ruby very hard training her and although she’s exhausted she realises how good he is and admires the work he puts into running the stables and how he loves the horses. Starting to see a new side of her husband. When Miles get Story, Haven and Clem to take Ruby out for the night they end up at Abigail’s full moon party, where she tells Ruby she has been waiting for her to come to Valentine Nook, giving her a little ritual to perform to get what she wants. Miles gets frustrated when he spots Santiago Torres at a tournament he shouldn’t be at and when he finally finds out Clem has been texting him he has a meltdown and his family don’t see why he’s so hurt as it’s the man who nearly killed him in a polo incident for which Torres was banned for two years. Ruby supports her husband and when they travel to see Holiday, his soon to be sister-in-law, in a play Miles tells his family just how he feels and Ruby says they should go home, leaving his family stunned. How Lulu Moore writes the emotion in this scene is so good that I wanted to go and tell his family off. Ruby’s polo playing gets better and better and so does her relationship with Miles, turning the marriage into a real one. When due to a couple of mishaps Ruby ends up playing for the main polo cup against Torres’s team. After winning the ranking comes out and Ruby gets a one goal rank whereas Miles is trying to get back to his ten goal rank. Taking his letter and Ruby he goes to the pub and lets Eddie open it. Just as they’re celebrating his family turn up to apologise. Miles wants to date Ruby to make his marriage real, even though they’re in bed together when he asks. The brothers have words with Torres about their sister and he apologies to Miles. Finally going to see her parents they’re surprised at the welcome and Ruby is surprised by them. The next book is sure to be Clem and Torres I can’t wait for the audiobooks of this and Honeysuckle Lane

Oh, Miles, I knew I was going to love your story, and it was everything I hoped it would be.
Ruby and Miles are the couple I’ve wanted to read about from the very beginning; Miles is my favorite Burlington brother, and his story was beautiful. From a marriage of convenience to revealing their true feelings, these two take us on a wonderful journey. I loved Ruby’s personality, she became my favorite character and the way she fights hard to make her dreams come true. I feel like Miles was the perfect match for her, and she was everything Miles needed.
While there is some drama (not between the two main characters) that sets the stage for the final book in this series, I enjoyed reading it and yes, it’s rare for me to say that, but I love everything this author writes.
A beautiful story, plus we have all the Burlingtons meddling in everyone’s business and the whole town of Valentine Nook just as nosy as ever. It definitely lived up to all my expectations and more.
📌 I received an e-arc, and this is my honest opinion/review of it.
ARC provided by both Lulu Moore in a giveaway and Smuthood!
Wow!!! This book had me hooked from the beginning! The only reason I put it down was because it was the 4th of July and I had relatives visiting 😋
Continuing from Valentine Nook this is book 4, our playboy Miles Burlington’s story! Miles is in charge of Foxleigh Park, the hub of Polo! We learn that he’s more than just a pretty face, he’s the face of Polo and strategic in everything he does, all while trying to prove his worth to his family 🐎
I did not know I would be so interested in reading about Polo in a sports romance! Well written 💛
In this book we follow Miles Burlington and Ruby Lanson (horse groom and a self taught Polo enthusiast). The story starts with them crossing paths accidentally and Miles falling off his horse into a bush, complaining that Ruby did it on purpose.. Miles was knocked off his horse brutally in a match 2 years ago, and had to relearn how to walk, so you can imagine the PTSD of it all.. but when Miles confronts her about it, she hoses him down!!
Ruby is outspoken and not a pushover.. she’s jumped from different locations trying to home her and her horse, but standing up for herself only gets her fired from multiple teams..
6 months after Ruby hosed him down, he finds her in need of a job.. here comes the marriage of convenience. The two get married so Ruby can get her visa faster allowing her to be able work and train in England!!
Constantly in close proximity, they learn to become best friends and each other’s biggest supporters!! Like Miles was just waiting for the right one to knock him down and pull him back up again..
I loved how easy this book was to follow! I learned quite a bit about polo and loved how Lulu wrote this enemies to lovers story! Lots of character growth in this one ❤️🐎
Tropes: 🐎sports romance (polo) 💛marriage of convenience 🐎one bed only 💛opposites attract 🐎reformed playboy 💛enemies to lovers 🐎small town romance
Gave me a marriage of convenience and a grudge against a fictional woman in the same book. Efficient.
Ruby Lanson is broke, ambitious, and one handsy patron away from torching her polo groom career for good. Enter Miles Burlington, Lord Burlington, blue-eyed, deep-dimpled, and entirely too pleased with himself, who charges into her stable with a job offer and an agenda: reclaim his spot as the world's best polo player and take down the man who nearly ended him. Visa paperwork has other ideas. So does a wedding. One season at Foxleigh Park, one fake ring, zero real feelings, that's the deal, anyway.
What worked: the marriage-of-convenience mechanics were immaculate, cohabitation tension, England's poshest estate doing double duty as forced-proximity central, Miles's slow unraveling from "entitled billionaire" into an actual person worth rooting for. Ruby holding her ground against a titled family with zero chill was the whole book for me.
Why not 5 stars: Clem. She's barely in this book, but every time she shows up it's spoiled-toddler energy and I don't like it. I loved her in the previous books, she was a whole personality I was rooting for, and now she's clearly being set up as selfish and bratty for her own book. I get what the author's doing. I still don't have to like it yet.
Trope Chaos Check ✨ Enemies to lovers (first impression: entitled billionaire. Correct, for about half the book) ✨ Marriage of convenience (visa problems have never been sexier) ✨ Forced proximity (an entire English manor and somehow still in each other's space) ✨ Grumpy x sunshine, but make Ruby the grump this time
★★★★☆ 4.5 stars, docked entirely on a character-development technicality I fully expect to eat my words on next book.
Massive thanks to Lulu Moore and the team at Smuthood for the ARC, read this in about a day and immediately started drafting my case against Clem.
Miles and Ruby were an absolute delight. Their frosty, tension-filled beginning set the stage for an engaging and entertaining journey from the very first pages.
Knowing Miles’s reputation going in, the fake marriage plot was completely out of left field—and that surprise made it even more fun. Once he commits to the plan, he goes all in, and watching him evolve while living and working alongside Ruby was incredibly satisfying. Beneath the charm and bravado is a loyal, sweet, and fiercely protective man. Seeing him support Ruby while also confronting his own trauma really highlighted his strength and emotional depth.
Ruby starts the story delightfully unhinged—her behavior is understandable, even if it lands her in a difficult position. Agreeing to marry Miles just to play polo is extreme, but it perfectly showcases her determination and drive. I loved watching her walls come down and her perspective shift over time. Her support of Miles and her ability to finally accept love—especially from the Burlington family—beautifully demonstrated how much she grew from the fiercely independent woman she was in Aspen.
The Torres storyline was the only element that felt slightly anticlimactic. Given how much weight it carried throughout the book, I would have loved a bit more tension before its resolution. Even so, it didn’t meaningfully detract from my enjoyment.
I’m very excited about the possibility of Clementine’s book and can’t wait to see what Lulu has in store next.

🔎 “I don’t know why I’ve not realized before now, but Ruby is my calm.”
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single polo player in possession of a big ego and an even bigger reputation must be hosed down. - Life lessons with Ruby.
And maybe not even just a player. Make that double. And one of the many reasons Ruby is my soul-sister. I adored her to pieces, jagged and all.
Our FMC has talent. Talent that she cultivated herself because that’s who she could depend on: herself... and her horse, Maverick. Unfortunately, life quickly got harder before the sun came shining through. It sure is true that when it rains, it pours. Not only is her boss a prick, she’s now unemployed, homeless, and with nobody to help her out.
Cue in our hero.
The guy she almost ran over — and very much hosed down last New Year’s. Joke’s on life because he actually liked it... and liked her. Maybe. Perhaps. Quite possibly. I mean, she’s talented and he wants to win the cup... That’s why he must marry her. Right?! RIGHT?!
What follows is a series of “let’s make Jess swoon” moments that had me holding on to my kindle like my entire happiness depended on it. And maybe it did.
I adored their guarded affection and how they both saw more in each other. More than anybody else. More than they knew how to be. Oh, to have “a best friend who I think is hot.” — in the great words of Taylor Swift — because that’s exactly who Ruby was to Miles. And who Miles was to Ruby.
I will never EVER be over the “she’s not my girlfriend. She’s my wife.” It did things to me.
As usual with any Lulu book, I could not/did not want to put this down!
I’ve been eagerly awaiting Miles’ HEA and it didn’t disappoint! Character wise, he was portrayed throughout the series to be carefree, reckless and not taken seriously. But I love how Lulu has developed that into him being quite misunderstood by his family, and since we now get his pov, it becomes clear how passionate and how much he cares about what he does.
Ruby was the perfect amount of stubborn, smart and determined, she matched Miles so well and I loved that for him, well, for them both. They were both so supportive of each other.
I definitely learned a lot about polo in this book, I must admit I knew nothing about it before reading this, but every day is a learning day! It was written with enough detail so I felt I knew what was going on, and the polo matches were exciting to read too. I never thought of myself as a polo girly but consider me a changed woman.
I felt that she completely switching things up with family dynamics in this book. I think Miles and Hendricks are seen as sort of their own unit anyways throughout the series, but I think Foxleigh Park showed a different side to the Burlington’s, which I enjoyed getting into the nitty gritty and the family drama 😂
I loved being back in Valentine Nook with the whole fam, but especially getting an insight into the more mysterious Burlington brother.
Lulu can do no wrong and I will lay to rest upon that hill. No idea what’s coming next but sign me up!
Wow! I bloody adored Foxleigh Park. This is my first 5 star romance read in a while and I’m super happy I broke my streak with this book. The plot, characters and polo were superb- so realistic! I felt every emotion with this book, the characters had me feeling so much and I absolutely tore through this read because I just needed to know what happened to Miles and Ruby. I was a bit worried going into this book it being the fourth book in this series and me not having read any of the others. Whilst you absolutely do not need to have read any others I will 100% be going back and reading the other books in this series because the way this author writes just reels you in. Both Ruby and Miles were amazing characters and as a female reader I find it’s easy for me to fall in love with the heroes- which I definitely did. However, the standout for me was Ruby! I just found her absolutely amazing I loved her spunk, determination, passion and tenacity. When she wanted something she didn’t give up and I just adored that about her. Miles was such a great hero too he had such a huge heart, was loyal and he was also so passionate. Their chemistry and genuine connection was insane and you could absolutely feel it. Their banter was on point too. To top it all off? The horses and the polo was done amazingly well it was so realistic and I love horses so combing these characters, the superb writing and horses was just like a dream come true for me. I will definitely be checking out other books by this author!
I really enjoyed heading back to Valentine Nook and catching up with the Burlington family. This entire series has been such good reads that I knew Foxleigh Park would not disappoint, and Miles is now my favorite Burlington Brother!!
The cheeky, good time, outgoing brother is actually incredibly hard working and dedicated to his sport, Polo. After an accident on the field left Miles hospitalised and in a bad way, he will now stop at nothing to get back to the top of the sport he loves, and that includes marrying a feisty redhead who doesnt even like him.
Ruby loves Polo, she has chased this career in any capacity she can. Never getting the chance to play, but not stopping her determination and hard work and belief in herself that one day she will. And she doesnt expect Miles Burlington, the man she cant stand and who she thinks is just another rich guy who is too full of himself, to be the one to finally see her passion and talent.
They make a deal, a marriage of convenience, to get Ruby to England. But neither of them expect the rising tension and chemistry between them as they spend every minute together.
As well as the banter, the fun and the spice, there is also depth to the story as we learn that there is more to Miles than just his charm, he wants to do his family proud and be seen for more than his reckless attitude. And it makes you love him even more.
If you love forced proximity, fake marriage, hate to love and a cute little English village setting, then this is for you.
Back in Valentine Nook, and honestly, it felt so good to be with the Burlingtons again 🥹 This series has quickly become one of my favorites, and every new book reminds me why I love @lulumoorebooks 's writing so much !
I've been looking forward to Miles' story for a while, and it was everything I hoped it would be. Beneath the charming, carefree playboy everyone sees is someone carrying so much more, and I loved getting to discover that side of him. Ruby was such a great heroine. She's hardworking, determined, and never once lets Miles' title or reputation impress her. She challenges him, keeps him on his toes, and I loved how they slowly brought out the best in each other.
One of my favorite parts was that they were both athletes. They understood the dedication, the sacrifices, and everything that comes with chasing a dream. Watching them support each other while growing closer made their relationship feel so genuine.
And can we talk about polo? I knew almost nothing about it before picking up this book, but now I'm officially obsessed 🤭 Lulu made it so easy to follow, and every match had me completely invested.
As always, I loved being back with the Burlington family. Their banter, their chaos, and all the little moments together are such a big part of what makes this series so special.
Thank you so much to @lulumoorebooks and @thesmuthood for trusting me with this ARC! And now let the countdown to Clementine's story officially begin !
Gah!! Foxleigh Park is just way, way too cute! Lulu Moore has absolutely nailed it with this read giving you a witty, charismatic, and infectiously warm romance, oodles of Burlington drama and charm, and made you fall in love all over again with Valentine Nook and the meaning and importance behind everything in it, especially Foxleigh Park itself. I’d like to make it known that I am over the top in love with Miles Burlington. There’s no question why or how easy it was for him to be a playboy prior to Ruby because the man has sexy confidence oozing out of his pores and a smirk to die for, but the way he shows Ruby unwavering support and belief in her talent on the polo field, finds her fire and how easily she calls him out the hottest thing ever and eats it up, and views her as basically the best rash decision he’s ever made, yeah he gets my whole heart. And Ruby, a riot with a huge heart, a vivacious personality, and an ability to see Miles so clearly it’s a little scary, she is a freaking delight. As is the appreciation that Miles has for the fact that he found a wife and a best friend in one incredible package and I adore the way polo stats and possible outcomes is basically like foreplay for these two. This is a fake marriage to win a polo season that gets real, real quick, a woman who’s always felt overlooked finally getting the recognition she deserves, a man with one goal in mind, a legacy he dreams of fulfilling, and a perspective on life that’s changing faster than he ever dreamed, and it’s hot, endearingly funny, and absolutely wonderful!
🩷 marriage of convenience 🩷 enemies to lovers 🩷 sports romance 🩷 athlete x athlete 🩷 roommates 🩷 small town
Move over the legend that was Jilly Cooper (RIP) there's a new polo-writing genius in town!
Foxleigh Park is the perfect balance of small-village vibes x old money x marriage of convenience x hot polo players
I always knew that the woman Lulu wrote for Miles would have to be formidable and that's what we've got in the fiesty Ruby Lanson. She takes no nonsense from him which is just what he actually needs. She's likeable though, sharp as a tack, truly gifted at polo herself and has an inate ability to see what needs to be done.
She might have been immune to Miles’s charm when she first encountered him but it's obvious from day 1 the chemistry is smoking hot. Foxleigh Park has everything you could want in a book and even if you think polo isn't for you I can tell you now you'll love the high pressure stakes and the luxe vibes that go hand-in-hand with Miles and Ruby's work ethic, the Burlington Fam banter, and more back story to Clemmie's love of all things Santiago Torres - the man who nearly killed Miles!
This is a brilliant marriage of convenience story where Ruby needs Miles to get her foot in the door of a yard where the owner isn't handsy so she can fulfill her dreams of being a polo player and Miles wants Ruby initially for insider information so he can win the England's Cup
I galloped through this in one sitting and enjoyed every word of it. ¡Olé! Lulu 👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you to Smuthood for the ARC 🥰 I adore this series 👌 I really feel that you do need to read in order to get the full effect. Also hoping for Clemmie's story next! 💍 Marriage of convenience/fake marriage 🥵 Enemies to lovers 🌶 Slow burn 🏡 Small town ✨️ Ruby & Miles ✨️ English royalty Lord Miles Burlington has a plan to return to the top spot in polo following a bad injury. (I really appreciated the polo guide at the start of the book 🙌). American gal Ruby dreams of becoming a polo player, she encounters many difficulties in getting there especially being a female and has to put up with a lot nasty men in the process. After being blacklisted from every ranch in the area by one of said nasty men, Ruby needs an escape and someone to take a chance on her. Que Lord Burlington who has had his eye on Ruby since she made it very clear ahe didnt like him months before. Visa delays mean they need a better plan to get Ruby back to England to follow her dreams.... fake marriage suggested by the family solicitor? What could go wrong in a small, nosey town! This is a very slow burn read... we need to wait until after 60% for more than a kiss but the tension can be felt for sure! This pair are hot for eachother 😍 Despite their initial enemies standoff after meeting, I never really understood why this was 🤔 Decent plot, definitely a lot more plot than spice in this one but another great addition to the series 👌
I didn’t know I could be so into polo (the sport) but Lulu Moore has converted me! This was such a fun sports romance that also felt quite royal and somehow had cowboy romance vibes (even though they aren’t cowboys in any shape or form) - I think because of all the horse love in this book LOL.
Foxleigh Park by Lulu Moore is book 4 of the Valentine Nook Chronicles, a royal small town series set in England. Ruby, an aspiring polo player, is out of a job as a groom, until Miles, Lord Burlington, the hotshot polo player, offers her a job/her only option. They start out on the wrong foot but, alas, there is a fine line between hate and lust, and they each realize maybe the other isn’t so bad.
I loved how both the MCs were athletes/polo players, not just the guy, and how they trained and played together 😌. Ruby and Miles’s story was loads of fun and I loved how she challenged him and had such a strong personality of her own. Miles was also such a softie even though he was playboy pro athlete, and I loved how obsessed he was with Ruby. The large family that Miles comes from was also a fun dynamic and has me eager for Clemmie’s story!

Thank you the Smuthood and Lulu Moore for the ARC!
✨ this is an arc review, thank you to The Smuthood and Lulu Moore for the arc copy, I’m so grateful to be back in Valentine Nook! ✨
This gem of a book is another 5 star read from Lulu Moore and if, like me, you’ve been waiting to know more about the fiery rider who almost ran over Miles a couple of books back, then you won’t be disappointed with Ruby and how she constantly stands up to Miles!
I love an enemies to lovers book and when it comes to discovering sub-genres of sports romance like Polo, it triggers my curiosity about a niche sport I had no clue about. Safe to say I’m now interested after reading Foxleigh Park!
This book is definitely filled with fantastic banter and tension between Miles and Ruby as they navigate their natural competitive personas with their marriage of convenience as well as a forced proximity as roommates. I love it when a MMC is a reformed playboy who only has eyes for his FMC and Miles is just that! Besides that, they’re both in each other’s corners and their families have shaped who they are in ways that tie them together.
Besides the found family and learning about a sport I knew nothing about before, Max continues to be a riot with his perfectly timed input and the animals are still the star of the book! Having adorable animal sidekicks is a Lulu requirement as this point (trademark pending) and it adds to much joy to the plotline.
As you can tell, I loved this book! I was shocked at the amount of highlights and the fact that Miles became my favorite Burlington because I didn’t think Lando would get dethroned but Miles is sensitive, funny, loyal and dedicated- my dream MMC. Foxleigh Park is my most highlighted book ever and I’m loving it. 5 stars for sure!
Thank you again to The Smuthood and Lulu Moore for the gifted copy of the book in exchange for my honest opinion ✨
𝐅𝐨𝐱𝐥𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 is the 4th book in the Valentine Nook Chronicles by Lulu Moore, featuring a delightful return to Valentine Nook for Miles and Ruby’s small town, enemies to lovers, polo sports romance. They won me over with their antagonistic initial banter and bubbling chemistry that fed into the slow burn romance that followed their marriage of convenience. Despite being totally clueless about polo, I loved the detailed descriptions of the nuances and action, as well as the bonds between the people and their horses. The whole Burlington family was also back to add to the fun, the small town charm, and the drama. Ruby may have been from a whole different world, but she fit in with them so well. She exhibited talent and strength, as well as a willingness to admit she was wrong, as Miles showed her more sides of himself than she ever expected. He was far more complex than the playboy that everyone made him out to be, and I for one, am a huge fan! I just really wish the slightly abrupt ending would have come with an epilogue. I needed a bit more. Words cannot express how curious I am about the next book though. I’ll admit I might be a harder sell at first, given what I already know. I’m excited to see the whole story from their perspective!
I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️
The Valentine Nook series has been one of my favorites since the first book, but as time goes by, I keep falling for the rest of the characters and Miles and Ruby certainly did not disappoint. Miles and Ruby meet when Ruby almost runs Miles over on New Years with her horse Maverick. She manages to keep Miles completely stunned, and he can’t seem to forget her. When they run into each other again Miles watches her training and decides he needs to have her on his polo team. After some visa complications, Miles and Ruby get married in Aspen. As soon as they get to England Miles begins training Ruby and never stops to take it easy on her. Ruby is instantly taken into the Burlington fold but unfortunately comes in contact with a few of Miles’ previous flings. Miles tells Ruby why he initially wanted her, to take revenge over Torres and his accident. Ruby and Miles begin to develop a friendship and soon those feelings evolve into more. Ruby pushes Miles to be the best that he can, she doesn’t bout up with his attitude and fights him on ideas she feels are right. when Miles has to deal with Torres, Ruby stands by him and puts him first. Ruby and Miles are absolutely every thing together. I can’t wait for Clementine’s book I have been waiting for her book since Valentine Nook, I have a feeling it’s going to be the best in the series.
