Can the truth really set you free?

Shocking news rips Purple to the core and sends on her a downward spiral. Everything she thought was true now is a lie. She’s lost. Her sister Gina steps in to be the voice of reason that Purple now needs. Logan, Purple’s boyfriend stays faithfully by her side, trying to help her heal. He so desperately wants her to be his wife – but now just isn’t the time and she keeps pushing the idea of marriage away because of her now complicated life. Purple throws her faith in God on the back burner. The need for sex, alcohol and her resentment toward God soothes her as she decides if she wants to find truth from the person that caused the downfall in her life.

This is my first time reading a book by this author. Purple and Gina was going through many emotions; faith, grief, pain, joy, love, and forgiveness. Their mom was battling with cancer and on her death bed she shared a secret with them. This secret turned Purple and Gina world upside down. Purple was so angry that she blamed God for allowing bad things to happen to her mom. We must cling to God when we are going through things in life.

Loved it!!

Once I began reading I was hooked!! The twists in this book were unpredictable and kept me wanting more. The ending shocked me but left me with the question of how can a situation occur with two different interpretations of what happened? Purple went through a lot but overcome those battles through learning to forgive!! Khara is one of my favorite authors because she never leaves me disappointed with her work. There is always a positive message!!

This was a pretty good book! I didn't understand why the mother told her daughter before She died that she was raped and that's how she was conceived. She should've told her who her father was and just let her go find him. Her life was turned upside-down and she was mad at God for allowing things to happen like they did. In the end, everything worked out for her and she still had a relationship with her father

The only reason I am giving this 4 stars is because of the cussing and vivid sex scenes. This book will make a single person want to sin lol. It was a really good book there were several ways it could have went so nothing about this book was predictable. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes a good story.

Forgiveness is a powerful thing!

Purple’s journey to forgiveness is a poignant and moving story! Bitterness, anger and hurt can consume you and affect your health, which is seen in this story. The trial of her faith was also a great detail to the story, one I personally understand. This story is one that all can read and have real life discussions about.

Purple Tears...A Moving Story of a Woman's Journey From Trauma to Triumph

Khara Campbell is indeed one of the leading African-American Christian Fiction Writers of the 21st Century. The book, though a work of fiction, addresses the impacts of trauma and the resulting challenges to one's faith. The book keeps you engaged and sitting on the edge of your seat in anticipation for how the characters will respond to the constant challenges that they experience as they attempt to release the tragic past and embrace the uncertain future. The ending is different than anticipated as the characters do what we all must decide to do, and that is "let go and let God"! Outstanding !

Yes....Yes....
When Family hold on to secrets; makes you wonder why? Purple and Gina experienced some many emotions. I could never imagine. Khara asked some questions at the end. I can understand the pain Purple felt. Mom was no longer there to ask questions. Knowing where you come from is critical. Logan had every right to handle Alex. God was in the mix. Forgiveness is what gives you peace; people don't always show up as they should. Love the ending of moving forward and making the best out of life. I enjoyed this book...Thank you! #joynookbookclub

Purple victory

This is a poignant and emotional book that highlights, death, love, forgiveness, cancer and other themes. My favorite theme is flirting with losing faith in God. All these were handled well by the author. The sisters had each others best interest by praying and supportive behavior.

This author is creative and innovative with her storytelling and relating the fictional tales to real life. I enjoy reading the author's art. She captivates me 🤔 with the unpredictable storylines.

The author need a good editor because the mistakes diminishes the plot.

Purple

This was a hard read for the first half of the book. Purples actions were wearing me down. I thought it was wrong for her mother to give her complete truth on her death bed, after so many years had past, she should have saved the most harsh information and just given enough to identify who her father was. The way Malcolm and family reacted was extreme, they didn't even listen. Logan was on point for punching Alex. To many typos.. Ridiculous

What a Whirl Wind!

This story has so many twists, turns and dips! Was Purple ' s reaction to her mother's death bed confession? Why would her mother lie to her? Is Malcolm' s confession believable? I was disappointed in his version of the truth! Really!!

Amazing

This book was on amazing from start to finish. I especially liked how at the end the author left a question unanswered. Sometimes we don’t need to know the answer to certain questions in life.
