Breaking Point

Rate this book
They thought they could keep it quiet.
They were wrong.

Sneaking into Alex Harrington’s bed was never supposed to mean anything.

For Liam Moore, it’s never just physical. He knows there’s something more between them—he just doesn’t know if Alex feels it too, and admitting that would mean admitting something about himself he’s not ready to face.

Getting back with Emily is easier. Safer. Normal.

Nothing about Alex has ever been normal.

When Kingswell and Riverside are forced into a joint training program, rivals become teammates overnight. Coaches are watching closer than ever. Scholarships are on the line. Careers are on the line.

And no pair moves faster on the water than Liam and Alex.

They row like they were built for the same rhythm.

Off the water? It’s chaos.

Alex is done pretending. Done shrinking himself to fit his father’s vision of legacy and perfection. But Liam isn’t ready to burn his life down—not his relationship, not his future, not the version of himself that feels simpler to live with.

Then Emily sees what was never meant to be seen.

And secrets stop being theoretical.

As pressure builds from every direction—family expectations, regional attention, and a rivalry that now demands unity—Liam and Alex are forced to confront the truth they’ve been

This isn’t just heat.
It isn’t just rivalry.
And it definitely isn’t something they can hide anymore.

Rowing together might win them everything.

But choosing each other could cost them just as much.

'Breaking Point' is brilliantly done.

I adore the whole set up of competitive collegiate rowing that Dylan Joseph has immersed us in, and it has been such a refreshing change after the saturation of hockey romances that have suddenly wedged themselves in every corner.

The first two short books had me sitting on the fence, even though I understood that Alex/Liam's road to their HEA started with an intentional pulling apart first where deep-seated denial and fear overcame over their desires.

But in this--this had everything I wanted to have in this book. The longer story length, the point where both Alex and Liam finally acknowledge themselves, the high stakes of the upcoming competition, the seemingly unbeatable odds against them...all of these had me wide-eyed, heart-poundingly glued to my reader until the book was done. And what looks like an uneasy end isn't really the end because there seems to be a lot more for Alex and Liam to overcome.

Can I say I'm also grateful that Dylan Joseph didn't end on a cliffhanger of sorts?

Apart from the minor typos/errors, this is fast becoming an addictive series, especially if future books start to resemble this very pivotal one. Because it really looks like this can go on for a quite a while.

this is a great story

Across three books I loved these characters. The set up is well crafted and the pairing in the end satisfying.
