Surprisingly concise overview

Seeing the page count, I thought this would be insubstantial. Wrong. It is just concise. Particularly value the backstory of Viet Nam's convoluted power struggles (1944-45). The post-WWII overview was more familiar but just as concise. Worth the time. And due to its brevity, not a lot of time...

I was very disappointed in this book. It is a token effort at a huge subject and doesn't do justice to any of the many subjects it skims over.
