Seems aimed at younger readers or those with a more basic info about menstruation. Seems like a good starting point for teens or parents of teens. I also found some of the diet suggestions to be a bit judgemental, or to lack nuance, suggesting that limiting sugar/eating whole foods is equally easy for everyone. There was some nice info about history of menstruation in Irish culture/mythology at the start of the book. And some in depth reviews and analysis of medical failings around periods, I would have enjoyed for there to have been more info like this throughout the book.
A very informative book, would be great to add to a secondary school curriculum. Giving it 3 stars as it felt a bit like what the Barbie movie was for feminism. A great starting point with all the basics, but not as in-depth as I hoped.
