You Have My Attention

Rate this book
I asked for obsession.
I didn’t know it came without boundaries.

The first note is an introduction.
The second, intimate.
By the third, I’m addicted.

I have his attention.
But the disturbing part?
He also has mine.

I should be afraid.
I’m not.
Something reckless stirs—hungry, wild, alive.

It starts as a game.
One I’m too eager to play.
But when it turns dark…I want him more.

His name is a secret.
His face—masked.
The mystery is the thrill.

I don’t want to know what he’s capable of.
I want to feel it.

Then someone threatens me.
And the game?
It stops being pretend.

The law won’t protect me.
But he will—brutally.

I fight for justice in the light.
He hunts for vengeance in the dark.

And when a man like him decides you’re his obsession?
He doesn’t let go.

⤷ Plot: You Have My attention is a dark stalker romance featuring a strong and successful FMC - Laurette Deveraux who is the Assistant District attorney and a stalker vigilante MMC - Bastien Montclaire who will burn the world for Laurette without her asking. When Laurette ex tricked her into a threesome for his own gain, Laurette realised she has been wasting time with the wrong man and wanted someone who will worship and be obsessed with her, to which Bastien heard her wishes and decided to grant them. Thus the stalking games began...

𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐮𝐱 - Honestly I am amazed by her character. It was a breath of fresh air reading about an FMC who doesn't cower to protect herself, a strong prosecutor who helps the less unfortunate. Aside the stalker romance, we do have a 🍇 case where the FMC had to defend a victim and the perpetrator was from affluent family who uses their money, power to squash the less unfortunate and bury their sins. Honestly I didn't expect that when getting into this story so I really appreciated the FMC's fight against the bad people despite Laurette herself being born rich and privileged given that her father was a judge and her brother was a defense attorney.

Moreover, even tho Laurette was the stalked and the prey for Bastien, there was no power imbalance at any moment. She chose to be stalked, she chose to be Bastien's obsession, as much as she herself was obsesses with Bastien.

A slow, dark burn coils in my chest— hungry, hollow, begging to be fed. “I don’t want soft hands and careful love. I want a man who sees every fucked-up piece of me and still wants it. Craves it. I want to be someone’s obsession. Possession. A man who doesn’t just touch me. He takes me— mind, body, and soul. No questions. NO hesitation.”
I lean in. “If a man like that is out there… he can have me. All of me. Let him wreck me. I want to be undone.”

𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐞 My guy was a filthy mouth, hot as sin stalker BUT he was so damn polite. For being a vigilante, killing bad people whom the law cannot touch, he literally asked Laurette's permission before he went forward with his stalking. I think it had to do with him being half French and half Spanish ꉂ(˵˃ ᗜ ˂˵) The way he protected Laurette, without her asking and his aftercare was so sweet. Also he spoke as if he was waxing poetry on a broadway show. It was amazing reading his pov.

The only reason this isn't a 5 stars - was the "My wolf nickname - even during the sexy time'

3⭐️ Thank you NetGalley for an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!!

I'm honestly not sure how to feel about this book. The premise sounded very interesting, but it just didn't fully land for me. I was contemplating giving this book a 2.5 star rating, but ended up settling a 3 because the MMC was likeable.

My biggest issue was the lack of consistent plot. In the beginning, I was actually really intrigued by the MMC's work storyline, however it ended extremely quickly and we barley saw any of it again. I wish it would have been developed more. The middle of the book felt like it had no plot at all, and then the ending plot shifted focus on the FMC's work which also wrapped up super quickly and felt rushed.

The romance didn't fully work for me either. It felt pretty lackluster overall, mainly because the book was more smut than anything else. It became very repetitive after a while and it had me yearning for some plot. Their relationship also felt very lust heavy. So when they confessed their love at the end, it didn't feel very believable to me.

To add on, the beginning of the book was very cringy and everytime the FMC called the MMC "my wolf", I genuinely couldn't handle it.

Overall, I appreciate receiving this ARC and getting the opportunity to share my honest thoughts about it!

You Have My Attention by Rebel Rose had a premise that really worked for me… at first.

The opening hooked me immediately — anonymous notes, obsession, blurred fear and desire — all the ingredients for a deliciously dark stalker romance. Unfortunately, after that strong start, the story lost momentum. The plot didn’t move forward quickly enough, and the intensity I expect from this trope never fully escalated.

I also struggled with the writing style. It leaned heavily into stereotypes and phrasing that felt unnatural, which pulled me out of the story and made it harder to stay emotionally invested. The idea was there, but the execution didn’t quite match the promise.

That said, there’s clear potential here. With more polish and experience, I can absolutely see this author delivering something far more gripping in the future.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ — a solid concept with a strong opening, but it ultimately fell flat for me. Fans of stylised, trope-forward dark romance may enjoy it more.

This was such a weird book? And it felt AI to me. I don't really know why. Which is why it took me so long to read it too. Disappointed but finished it nonetheless.

This is NOT a romance. And there was no need for it to be 300+ pages. I was so bored throughout :(

You Have My Attention by Rebel Rose, delivers exactly what the blurb promises, and then some.

The story is pure catnip for dark romance fans, a woman who craves obsession gets pulled into a dangerous game with a masked stranger who starts leaving notes.

What begins as thrilling, boundary pushing flirtation quickly spirals into something far more intense, possessive, and morally gray.

The slow escalation from curious intrigue to full blown addiction is wickedly done. By the time the “game” turns genuinely dark, you’re already too invested to look away.

The FMC is refreshingly unapologetic. She’s not a naive innocent who stumbles into danger, she actively leans into the thrill, even when she knows she shouldn’t. That reckless hunger she feels? It’s electric on the page, and it makes her feel alive in a way a lot of heroines in this genre don’t. She’s fighting for justice in her everyday life, yet she’s drawn to the shadows where her stalker operates. The contrast between her “light” world and his “dark” one creates fantastic tension.

The MMC is the definition of a dangerous obsession. Masked, nameless at first, and utterly without boundaries, he ticks every box for a top tier dark romance anti hero, protective in the most brutal ways, possessive to an extreme, and completely fixated on her.

When an external threat emerges, he doesn’t hesitate to become her shield, violently so. The way he “hunts for vengeance in the dark” while she operates in the light is 🤌🏻

No spoilers, but the shift from fantasy game to deadly reality hits hard and feels earned.
What I loved most is how the book leans into the psychological push/pull. The mystery of who he is and what he’s truly capable of keeps the pages turning, while the spice is intense, raw, and perfectly integrated into the power dynamic.

Rebel Rose doesn’t shy away from the disturbing aspects, but she also makes you root for this twisted connection. There’s a wild, alive energy to the whole story that matches the description perfectly.

If you’re in the mood for a stalker romance that starts seductive and turns viciously protective, with a heroine who’s just as unhinged in her desires as the hero is in his actions, this one delivers.

It’s not for the faint of heart, triggers are real here (stalking, violence, dubious consent vibes, etc.) but for fans of the genre, it’s a satisfying, pulse pounding ride with a hard won HEA that feels true to the characters.

If you love dark stalker vibes with mutual fixation, masked mystery, and a hero who will burn the world (or at least a few people) for his woman, this should be on your list.

Just know…. once he has your attention, good luck shaking it off. 😜

He didn’t want to save her from the dark. He wanted her beside him.

Laurette is sharp, polished, and used to holding herself together, even after a betrayal that leaves her furious, humiliated, and more dangerous than she looks. She fights for justice in public, keeps her pain locked down in private, and tells herself she still knows the difference between wanting intensity and inviting ruin. Then a stranger starts closing in with a kind of attention that feels invasive, intimate, and impossible to ignore.

Bastien is watchful, lethal, obsessive, and drawn to Laurette with a fixation that deepens the longer he stays in her orbit. What starts as a dark game of notes, secrets, and mounting tension becomes far more consuming when danger gets real and the line between protection and possession starts to blur. The more Laurette sees, the more she should run, but instead she feels herself pulled toward the one man who understands the darkest parts of her without asking her to soften them.

Laurette grows from a woman reeling from coercion, betrayal, and humiliation into someone who stops minimizing her own hunger and trusts her instincts again. Bastien shifts from detached obsession into real devotion, and together they build a bond where control, protection, desire, and violence all become part of how they recognize and claim each other.

Ultra-steamy, dark, stalking, touch her and die, cat and mouse, romantic suspense where obsession feels safer than ordinary love, betrayal ruins trust in both people and systems, and a woman drawn to danger finds herself seen, claimed, and protected by a morally gray man whose devotion turns control, vengeance, and desire into something brutally intimate.

The Elevator Pitch: A sharp, controlled woman whose faith in safety has already been broken finds herself drawn into a dangerous exchange with a man who watches from the dark and understands exactly what her restraint is hiding. As attention turns into obsession and threat bleeds into desire, their connection slips past fear, past reason, and into something far more intimate than either of them should trust. What begins like a game of power and secrecy becomes a collision between justice, hunger, and the kind of devotion that doesn’t ask to be welcomed.

Heat Level: 🔥🔥🔥 Ultra-Steamy / Erotic Romance

This story fell flat for me. We open with Laurette and her boyfriend John David negotiating a threesome and things quickly change course. While detailing to her friends what occurred, Laurette tells them she wants someone who is obsessed with her. Enter Bastien stage right... who hears and decides he'll be obsessed with her.

The rest of the book made me feel as emotionally invested as those few sentences did. He just made a decision to be obsessed with her and basically asks to stalk her... The intimacy that was written didn't feel earned or warranted, as evidenced by the cringe every time they used each other's nicknames.

I felt like this book did not really lean into the stalker trope where the stalker is watching, learning, observing and obsessed with the MC. It felt more realistic in the sense that I wouldn't want a stalker in real life but I would want to engage in a consensual trusting relationship roleplay of stalking, however that's not my fantasy. There wasn't very much emotional payoff.

As I was reading I felt like the author was often overexplaining instead of describing/showing me the obsession. It felt disconnected. The spicy scenes were okay but I just didn't really feel anything. The HEA was okay but again the tension, passion, emotion was missing so it felt lackluster.

🎭 You Have My Attention: A 3-Star Walk on the Dark Side

Rebel Rose is a new name on the roster, and she dives straight into the deep end with this dark stalker romance. While the "mystery and thrill" of a masked obsession are clearly the draw here, this story proved that sometimes the most beautiful covers hide the most "intense and brutal" realities. 🎭🖤✨

💌 The Game: Notes, Masks, and Shadows
The premise is classic dark romance: a game of anonymous notes that turns from an addiction into a "hungry, wild" obsession. Our heroine fights for justice in the light, while her stalker hunts in the dark. It’s a "reckless" dynamic where the thrill of the unknown is the primary currency—until the game stops being pretend and turns into a fight for survival. 💌🕵️‍♀️

However, while the setup promised a high-speed chase, the execution hit several speed bumps. For a story built on "obsession without boundaries," there were moments where the narrative slowed down significantly, losing that "racing" heart rate that usually carries a dark romance. Taking over a week to finish a book is a rarity for you, Miley, and it speaks to the uneven pacing that kept this from being a top-tier read. 📉🛋️

⚠️ A Necessary Warning Label
You hit the nail on the head regarding trigger warnings. While the cover art is "beautiful" and the genre is stated, the level of intensity regarding exploitation and sexual trauma needs a clear signal. For those who have navigated these issues in real life, this is a "tread lightly" situation. It’s a 3-star effort that had moments where you were "ready to go," but ultimately struggled to bridge the gap between expectation and reality. 🛡️🚫

✨ Why This Ride Was "Mid-Tier":
The Pacing: The transition from "addicted" to "dark" had too many lulls, making it difficult to maintain the necessary tension for a stalker trope.

The Expectation Gap: When a book promises "brutal" protection and "vengeance in the dark," the payoff needs to be consistent, and this felt a bit disjointed.

The Cover Art: It definitely pulled you in, but the content didn't quite live up to the visual promise. 🖼️💔

My Final Verdict
You Have My Attention earns 3 stars for the effort and the "sizzling" potential of its darker themes. It’s an intense ride for those who can handle the "dark side of kink," but it serves as a reminder that even the most "riveting" mystery needs a solid pace to keep the fire burning. If you’re looking for a dark obsession that truly doesn’t let go, this one might require a bit of patience! 🎭🌑💍

That "week-long read" is a definite sign that the pacing wasn't clicking!

YOU HAVE MY ATTENTION by Rebel Rose is a contemporary, adult, dark, erotic, stalker romance focusing on former US Green Beret, thirty-five year old, Bastien Montclaire, and thirty-three year old, Assistant District Attorney Laurette Devereux.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives YOU HAVE MY ATTENTION follows the stalker relationship between our story line couple. In the wake of betrayal by her long time boyfriend, ADA Laurette Devereux goes out for drinks with her friends, only to be overheard, wishing for a man who is obsessive about his woman, and she is about to discover there is a man who is obsessive and more. Bastien Montclaire is a man who lives on the edge, often crossing back and forth between the light and the dark, and in this, Bastien is determined to take Laurette on a journey from which there will be no return but Laurette’s current case load comes with a darkness only Bastien understands, and in this, our hero is determined to protect the woman with whom he will fall in love.

The world building focuses on the unconventional lifestyle and relationships of Bastien Montclaire. Bastien is a man who works in the shadows, and in this, he is determined to right the wrongs in defense of those unable to defend themselves. As Laurette’s upcoming case begins to spiral out of control, Bastien finds himself guardian and protector of a woman who is determined to protect herself.

The relationship between Bastien and Laurette is unique and eccentric. Bastien overheard Laurette’s desire to be needed, to be desired, and in this, Bastien takes aim at our story line heroine but Bastien is much more than he appears to be, hiding in the shadows, taking aim at those who live in the shadows, as well. The $ex scenes are provocative and intense.

The secondary and supporting characters are often questionable, unique and dynamic. We are introduced to Laurette’s father Judge Henri Devereux; her ex boyfriend Jon David Bellamy, and her friends Brielle, Eden, Marissa: Bastien’s brother, IT specialist Matt, , their sister Juliette.

YOU HAVE MY ATTENTION is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, obsession and infatuation, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is dramatic, dark and edgy; the characters are determined and charismatic; the romance is unconventional and seductive.

Laurette Deveraux is an Assistant DA with a stalker, but calling it that barely scratches the surface. After a trust-shattering incident with a sleazy ex, Laurette finds herself craving something darker: someone who sees every flaw and still chooses her. Someone obsessed. And Bastien, who overhears that dangerous wish, is more than willing to deliver. He even asks for permission, blurring the line between fear and desire in a way that’s as unsettling as it is fascinating. What Laurette doesn’t realize, of course, is that Bastien isn’t just a devoted admirer, he’s a vigilante serial killer. And yet, in a twisted way, they’re fighting for the same side. I loved the parallel of Laurette battling for justice in the courtroom while Bastien delivers his own brand of it in the shadows. It creates this eerie symmetry that makes their connection feel both wrong and strangely inevitable. The dynamic between them is dark, obsessive, and impossible to look away from. It’s uncomfortable at times, but that’s exactly what makes it so compelling. The tension is razor-sharp, practically vibrating off the page, and I spent most of the book unsure who I was supposed to root for… which only made it more addictive. As the danger surrounding Laurette escalates, Bastien’s protective instincts kick in hard, whether she asks for it or not. And yes, let’s talk about the spice. Mm, mm, mm. If you’re into kink, primal play and deliciously dirty dialogue, this one absolutely brings the heat. Bastien checks all the boxes for the mysterious masked man trope, but what really stood out was his consistent emphasis on consent, adding another layer of complexity to his character. And Laurette? She’s no passive heroine. She’s sharp, fearless, and refuses to be intimidated, even when everything around her spirals into chaos. Their relationship is messy, unhinged, and morally tangled, but if twisted romance is your thing, this story will sink its claws into you and refuse to let go. So, next time you want someone’s attention… be careful what you wish for. Or not.

NetGalley ARC review
Thanks to Netgalley, Xpresso Book Tours and Rebel Rose for the free copy.

This had a lot of promise, but it didn't deliver. The idea of a vigilante serial killer stalking an assistant district attorney was gold, but the story fell flat for me. There were a lot of declarations about obsession not asking for permission, etc. But it was never actually followed up on, the man literally asked her permission to stalk her.

The spice was 30% fantastic and 70% boring. There is no excitement when the same bedroom scene repeats over and over. The court case story line also fell short. The way it was presented very much felt like a page filler. I was very excited for this, but unfortunately, it probably wasn't for me. Check your triggers.

Favorite quotes:

> No, this woman doesn’t beg. She negotiates, barters with pleasure, and bleeds defiance. I’d give her what she asks for, and then shove past it, just to hear how she moans when she breaks. She’s not built to whimper. She’d swear at me instead, curse my name with shaking thighs and a voice torn raw from holding back.

> I want true obsession, a devotion so deep it scars. Not because I’m fragile or because I’m missing something. Because I’m worth that kind of fire.

> That something dark and molten came alive in me when he whispered obsession like it was a love language. Our love language.

> Tonight is about more than release, more than hunger. It’s about her feeling safe, about letting her trust every inch of me. Not as predator and prey but as strength in flesh and something sacred.

> When we part, her eyes stay on mine, steady and unrepentant. And I’m certain of one thing with brutal clarity. She’s not the woman I protect from darkness . She’s the woman I want walking through it with me.

The bare basics of this story are the FMC and MMC, who definitely do not meet at a local bar, but overhearing a conversation between friends, he decides to be the guy she says she desires. Along the way, there's some danger stemming from her work as an ADA. This danger comes to her, and they navigate through that bit as a couple.

What did I love about this book?
Our MMC is a combination of Zade Meadows, Josh from Lights out (if he has Juniors personality), and a sprinkle of Batman. He is unpretentious, mysterious, controlled, and cool af under pressure.

FMC is a badass and does not cower when the scary threatens her. She comes back fiercer. I'm here for a strong woman!

Spice is great and plentiful 😂

As is often NOT the case in these types of books; the plot exists in a space that makes sense and is relevant to the story of the couple. I appreciate this personally.

What did I not like?

The cover states, "Obsession does not come with boundaries." To this, I say: The MMC literally asked permission to stalk the FMC, so I guess there's at least one boundary 😅

Our MMCs' initials are BM, and for me, that was tough to read with a straight face, but I'm immature, so...

The nickname she gave him gave me serious ick. It was hard to get past it, especially when used during spicy time.

Overall, I did really enjoy this read and look forward to more by this author.

It is a curious thing, dear spicy reader, to discover that someone has been paying attention to you long before you ever noticed them.

You Have My Attention by Rebel Rose is a dark stalker romance that leans heavily into tension, obsession, and the uneasy line between fear and fascination.

The story follows Laurette, who believes she’s living a fairly ordinary life, and Bastien, a man who has been watching her far longer than she realizes. What begins as quiet observation slowly reveals something far more intense, as Bastien’s focus on Laurette becomes impossible to ignore. His presence lingers throughout the story, creating a constant sense of unease as Laurette begins to realize just how closely she has captured his attention.

This isn’t my usual genre pick, but I have to admit I was hooked from beginning to end. The dark atmosphere and the tension between Laurette and Bastien kept the pages turning, and for spicy readers who enjoy morally gray characters and intense dynamics, this one definitely delivers. And I must say dear reader… the spice most certainly delivers, adding another layer of heat to an already addictive story.

⚠️ Trigger warnings: This book contains dark themes including stalking, obsessive behavior, manipulation, and other potentially sensitive content.

And as Lady Pagewhisper would quietly note…
Sometimes the most dangerous thing one can receive is someone’s complete and unwavering attention. 🖋️

You Have My Attention is a dark obsession romance with an MMC who would burn the world down for the FMC before she even had to ask. If you like obsessive, morally grey men who are very much walking red flags… this definitely delivers that.

I really liked the FMC. She’s smart, passionate, and strong, especially when it comes to standing up for something many women sadly experience in real life. Rebel Rose did a great job making her feel capable and grounded instead of just existing for the romance.

And Bastien… yeah he is unhinged. It’s been a while since I read a stalker romance where the MMC actually felt like a real red flag instead of just “possessive but fine.” The obsession, the stalking, the tension, the spice — all of that was absolutely serving.

That said, this book does cover some very heavy topics, and while the author lists content warnings, I personally struggled with how the 🍇 case was integrated into the story. It didn’t land for me the way I hoped it would.

I also wish we had gotten more relationship development once the stalking part slowed down, and the ending felt a little rushed for my taste.

But overall? It was hot, dark, and entertaining, and I definitely enjoyed reading it.

Loved this book!!! It hit all the feels and I could not put it down!! (Yes, I hid out & then "went to bed" early to binge it!!!) 🥰🥰

I loved the characters, the book was fast paced & a delicious read, a book that will give you a book hangover and leave you craving more while also being pleasantly satisfied. Bastian - he's everything you'd want in a morally grey obsessed stalker... I also love his brother that works with him. Would love to see a book about him!!! Laurette - ugh, her ex!! I cringed as he kept coming back up in the book (although it's a good story arc, won't spoil anything). Love that she got something that she really didn't even know she needed when Bastian came into her life!!

Loved the courtroom picture scene... LOL Well done!! And Bastian - "You're' welcome, babygirl!" Love how her nickname for him is Wolf, which is something that had meaning to him from his childhood. ❤️

HUGE thank you to the author (Rebel Rose), publisher (Xpresso Book Tours) & Netgalley for the ARC read. All opinions are my own.

The Good: THE SPICE. 4/5, loved the consent conversations and the set-ups. I think the anonymity may have been overdone a little, but the reveal is pretty good. The scenes really mirror what the characters need at that time and find their partner in each other. Swings more erotica than romance, but the same undercurrents are there and it works well. Also, love a murderer that isn't linked to the mob (dark mafia is not my fave sub-genre).

The Meh: This was an ARC, so I'm not going to get all into editing, but sometimes it was a little hard to tell who was talking from the structure of the paragraphs. Also, I kind of wish that there wasn't so much recap about things that just happened in prior chapters. Example: MMC writes a 4-sentence letter and it's all there; next chapter, FMC reads it...and it's all there again. Also, the court questioning could have been a little tighter, but honestly, I skimmed it rather than got bothered by it on my way to more spice ;P

The Verdict: Not sure I'll go crazy recommending this to people who don't read smut, but this is a good book generally and worth a read if stalking/obsession is your type of fun!

First chapter, “Peace is for people who don’t want to remember. Revenge is for those who can’t forget.” i love it.

Fourth chapter...she doesnt want to be judged, but who is she judging other woman who choose to have missionary sex with her man? Or even if its a woman or her freakin dog!

Who the fuck is this bitch think she is to call other woman oppressed with her sex life while her own sex life just throw her shit right on her face wihen her so called boyfriend drugged her so he can get his face fucked by other dick?!
Moral point on this? Dont be a bitch who judge when you dont like to be judge!

Ok, continue.

A point for how she keep good head on her - assistant DA's- head when facing a stalker, at first.

" This only becomes a game if she’s willing to play."
" (Consent) Yours to give and mine to obey.” i love these too.

And since there is consent, the stalking as foreplay, was damn good. Which brings the steamy segs scenes. Those were....i love them!

The ending was, i couldnt ask for better than that.

SPICY! ADA Laurette should really check her surroundings before she spills the tea to her girlfriends in a crowded bar because a vigilante with obsessive tendencies might just be listening … and act.

This was chalked full of spice… almost every chapter. This had an interesting plot and badass boss bitch in her early 30’s FMC. That was a breath of fresh air.

Bastien is part time hired hitman part time vigilante because it makes him happy. You know what also makes him happy? Stalking and obsessing over Laurette, and wearing a mask while he teases and pleases.

The chemistry between these two was hot as sin, but there was little to no character growth and not really any relationship building. It jumped right into wam bam thank you ma’am and stayed that way. Towards the end I did start skimming the spicy bits but it wasn’t because they weren’t epically written - there was just so many and at that point I was invested in the court case and swooning over Bastien’s protective side.

I need an epilogue tho because I want to see what they accomplish as a team cuz Evan was just the tip of the iceberg.

This was such a good read!! I was sucked in from the start.
I absolutely loved the FMC. She’s not your typical bow down to the patriarchy and give in to men. She knows what she’s after and knows what is right. She doesn’t back down from a challenge and stands up for what she believes.
The MMC sees what he likes and takes action. Red flag? Only in real life. He is a vigilante and takes matters into his own hands.
This story is what I imagine Dexter with some spice to be. Maybe it’s the dark and twisty in me, but I think some of the scenes could have been depicted with a bit more detail to make this is an amazing dark romance. We do have a scene of 🍇 depicted, so that is something to note.
The love story wrapped in this is so good. I loved watching their relationship unfold.
I also really enjoyed the MPV, it added so much to the story.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to review this story. The opinions are solely that of my own.

I was back and forth on this book throughout the whole thing.

In some parts, I loved it. Bastien’s obsession was great. The spicy scenes were super spicy. I did like Laurette’s need for justice and how the court case was entwined with the storyline. I also enjoyed both POVs and loved getting to know both of the characters.

The parts I didn’t love were a bit cringey. “My Wolf” was probably the cringiest thing I’ve read in a while and it gave me quite the ick each time Laurette said it. Babygirl wasn’t bad, but just seemed weird when Bastien called her that. Some of the dialogue was cringey as well and didn’t seem like something anyone would actually say. The repetitiveness also threw me off. Laurette recalling what Bastien said. We know, we read it a page ago. Just seemed a bit much.

With that said, the book is definitely 3.5 stars and I would still recommend it and read another book by this author. Maybe a book about Basiten’s brother if there isn’t already one?

Leaned more Woman's justice than Stalker vibes!

This was a solid read—especially if you’re in the mood for a tamer stalker romance.

Bastien is obsessive, sure, but he doesn’t go full unhinged the way darker MMCs usually do. Laurette, on the other hand, was a standout for me—a lawyer fighting for women who’ve been failed by powerful men, which added a strong, grounded layer to the story.

When Bastien sets his sights on her, the whole predator/protector dynamic kicks in, and it really comes down to whether Laurette can accept his version of justice after her own system fails her.

Was it darker than your average romance? Yes.
Was it as dark as it could’ve been? Not even close.

Still, I enjoyed it.

My only real issue—the whole woman and child in Mexico situation just… disappeared. No resolution, no follow-up, nothing. It left things feeling a bit incomplete.

Overall: a good read, just don’t go in expecting full chaos.

“You Have My Attention” certainly had my full attention!

Since the beginning and ramping up its pace, the story grips you and doesn’t let go.

The FMC is one of the best I’ve read yet, courageous, determined, and deserving every good thing coming (pun intended 😜).

Our MMC is now one of my top dark contemporary romance book boyfriends. So obsessed, so morally grey and defensive of his object of obsession all at the same time as he’s so respectful of limits and consent, just... Chef’s kiss!

If you’re craving a dark, obsession filled, morally grey, masked stalker romance, with great spice and kinks, plus a hero of an FMC, this will be your treat!

I am very grateful to NetGalley, Xpresso Book Tours and especially to the author Rebel Rose for the free ARC copy, and I’m very enthusiastically leaving my review!

This book is deliciously dark and titillating temptation. Not for ever reader, so please heed the trigger warnings. Bastien was truly everything you could want and crave in a red flag book boyfriend, and he had me in the palm of his hand from the start. As for Laurette, I really liked her and felt for her. Together, I thought these two made a perfect match and I very much enjoyed their story. Now, I know this will probably sound out there, but to explain the why four stars instead of five question anyone might ask. It was simply because I felt that the author held back a bit on letting us get the full picture as far as Bastien was concerned. Without giving spoilers, it is hard to fully explain and that I will not do because this book is absolutely worth reading and if you do, I think it will be clear what I'm alluding to.

Review of You Have My Attention
* * * * *
A dark wild stalker romance that was absolutely dirty, thrilling, and not wanting to put this standalone goodness down.

She wanted danger. She wanted a thrill. She wanted a man who wasn't a total creep.
Well she was about to get it.
A woman of the law who fought for what was right, wanted something so delicious and devious it was a crime...and he heard her.
A man from the shadows. The others side of the law. Took down the crooks and vile vermin with his own hands.
She became his obsession, and she was just as addicted.

Loved it. Dark and addictive like hot chocolate on strawberries, and definetely NSFW. Not unless you want someone to be very concerned in your choice of literature.
From blindfolds to shadows, secret cameras and scandalous lingere, ballroom playtime and a dark pact together.
5 stars!

ARC REVIEW

4⭐️ 4🌶️

You have my attention is a DARK romance focused on obsession with an MMC who would burn the world down for the FMC before she’d even breathed the words.

Rebel Rose has captured the Strong FMC character with an intelligent and passionate character who stands on the right side of a battle sadly many women have faced. Our MMC, dark, broody and brilliant.

This book covers topics and scenarios that are difficult, it’s clearly stated and listed, but they are portrayed in ways that made them seem anything but cliche. Rose demonstrates an ability to talk about real world problems and still be respectful to those who may have experienced it.

PS…. The smut was SMUTTING. The tropes were TROPING and the kinks were KINKING

This book completely owned my attention from the first page. All-consuming, dark stalker romance that refuses to let go.

Recommendation: do not start this if you have responsibilities… because they will absolutely be ignored. I went in expecting one thing and came out with something entirely different, and somehow even better.

Set against the atmospheric backdrop of New Orleans, the story feels gritty, intense, and unapologetically unfiltered. It’s dark, addictive, and the kind of story that creeps under your skin until you realize you’re fully hooked.

Six stars. Five chili peppers. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Rebel Rose, you have me hook, line, and sunk. I’m on your hook… and honestly? I never want off.

Bastien is a man on a mission especially when he is obsessed with a woman. After over hearing the FMC talk about how she wanted a man who was obsessed with her, she had no idea her wish was about to be granted. My favorite part was when Bastien gave her a necklace with his initial engraved on the back. Nobody but her would know who she belonged to 😏

The FMC is an attorney and deals with some crazy stuff from her ex until she finally breaks things off. The FMC's father is also scum. It does depict the real world however, where the rich get away with murder.

I liked the story overall, but I felt like it was missing something. It was hard to get into at times as it didn't seem like a whole lot was happening. Thank you to Netgalley for an ARC of this book.
