ExorSquad
How I Met Your Murderer
Not yet published
Expected 8 Oct 26Haunting #439: Ardruin Castle
Number of ghosts: It’s anyone’s guess, really
Location: The village of Ballycorven in West Kerry, Ireland
History: Long and bloody. Full of fire, covert poisonings, plague, and various mysterious deaths since its construction in 1219.
Wanted: Get the ghosts under control by October 31st for the grand opening of Céad Míle Fáilte Medieval Dining Experience inside the renovated castle, “Where the Mead Flows, the Bards Roar, and Everyone’s a Lord (for the Evening).”
The Expert: Rafferty O’Meara, formerly Kerry hurling’s star midfielder
The Complication: Eric James Crawford. Ghost, American, tourist. Chaotic Good Boy who’s about to rearrange Raff’s world as they try to figure out just how Eric really died.
Rafferty O’Meara has somehow survived six months of working for the ExorSquad—the UK’s least reputable ghost removal service—after a career-ending injury took him away from the sport he loved, hurling. Living out of his van on little pay, Raff has already seen his fill of haunted pubs, soggy bog brides, and endlessly chanting monks when he gets called to his biggest assignment Ardruin Castle, a crumbling estate in west Kerry, Ireland.
The ancient building’s ambitious new owners have been trying to renovate the place for months, but there’s always some catastrophe pushing back the grand opening, because the place is undeniably haunted. Enter ExorSquad—or rather, Raff. He’s on his own to remove the castle’s many ghosts so the new tourist attraction can open to guests the week after Halloween.
Well, not entirely on his own. The hot, smug ghost of an American tourist who loves D&D turns out to be helpful in learning about and managing the other ghosts. Plus, Eric is easy to talk to. Easy to trust. And…Raff isn’t sure he can be the one to move him on. Not when he’s forming an unearthly attachment that feels a lot like love. He’s also not sure he can protect Eric or the castle’s other ghosts—who, despite their quirks, aren’t all that bad—from the more sinister presence that’s doing its best to avoid him. Something powerful and ancient, an entity that might have murdered Eric and now wants Raff’s heart—literally.
The ExorSquad Series is a collection of standalone MM romcoms centered around the unfortunate employees of ExorSquad Ltd, the UK's shadiest ghost-busting operation. Expect supernatural shenanigans, things that go bump in the night, sizzling encounters, and hard-won happy-ever-afters.

Man this whole universe keeps getting better and better! This was another banger! This one is about Raff and Eric!
First I love the Irish language in this one!
Raff is sent to a castle to investigate and disperse of ghosts it’s where he meets Eric who died at the castle but he’s not sure how he did the reports make it seem like Eric jumped but he didn’t
I love when the ghosts themselves are interesting and we have so many in this one! They are attracted to each other but they kinda keep each other at arms length too
I giggled when Raff was blushing because he used to watch Eric’s videos and relieve himself LOL
Their intimacy built over time so the pay off was worth it!
Their attraction but it was emotional too when Raff was helping Eric with his to do list so he could cross over!
The emotional turmoil when they were both falling in love not knowing what was coming next! Miss maaaaam I was worried about the hea like actually terrified but that part worked out so damn well because whatever witchy magic that helped him become real and have a damn pulse! The gasp that came out of me!!
This one had something I didn’t know I would like which is Uhm food porn LOL Raff describing the goods to Eric as he was eating it was 🔥!
The main entity in this book that Raff nicknamed Gary LOL was a elemental and he was a rude one at that’ we find out he’s the one eating the ghost spirits and he’s the one who hurt our Eric!
This book put me thru the ringer! The emotions the sweating and crying! But it was allll worth it because these sweet sweet boys got their happy ending well deserved two warm loving bodies living their best lives!!!

I don’t want you to get scared. Or hurt. Or for your heart to stop.” “Yeah. Why would you want to protect me when you hardly know me? What about me could possibly be worth going out of your way for?”
“You wanted to save me yesterday, before you realized I was dead. Even though you didn’t know me,” I said without hesitating. “You were nice to my friend when you didn’t have to be. You have a lot more respect for the spirits here than the last two guys combined, even if you are carrying just as much ammo. Steals my stuff (my pin, sometimes my water bottle even though he can’t drink out of it). Whistles better than I can hold a tune. Imitates local bird calls: jays, blackcaps, magpies, wagtails, robins. When you pay him a compliment, he looks so solid that I can’t tell him from the living. Funny, I can’t remember any sayings about ghosts and praise. Just him? Ideas to keep the peace: I’m not sure yet. I’ve learned so much from him this past week, but I feel like I need to keep learning more about him. I can’t even say why, but I’m fairly sure there’s a line in The Handbook about trusting your gut on these things. For now, I’ll stick with our little partnership. Keep it simple, like: he helps me, I don’t zap him.
“That so, Wildcard?”
“You know, I didn’t take you for a romance reader.” Raff flashed a grin, bright and bold and free of apprehension even though he was standing face to face with a dead guy. “Oh? And what did you take me for?” I considered him for a moment, a teasing answer about the king of the mountain goats on the tip of my tongue. But he looked so serious gazing back at me that I said something real instead: “It’s too soon to say for sure, but I think . . . you might be the knight all those readers are looking for. The reason they keep turning the pages.”
“You’re really something, Eric,” he murmured, his breath displacing the steam of the tea. “You’ve this mind that reaches farther than half the people I’ve ever met. You look up and see whole galaxies, and you spin new ones in your head, too, with those games of yours. I’m starting to think there’s nothing you can’t do.”
“Cassiopeia . . .” he murmured, tracing a few of my freckles with his index finger. My heart was beating so hard, you’d think I was running a marathon. “The constellation. That’s what these freckles reminded me of the first day I saw you.” His fingers skimmed down the side of my face, tracing the contour of my jaw, stroking under my chin, then traveling over to my other cheek. “And maybe,” he added thoughtfully as he rubbed his thumb across another cluster of freckles, “these here could be Ursa Major.”
“I can’t taste, of course,” he explained in a low voice, not wanting to be overheard even if no one paid us any attention. “But I can choose things, and watch you, and . . . and you can describe them to me. How they taste, in detail. If it isn’t too much trouble.”
Eric’s eyes widened as I went on listing all the bird calls I could remember him copying. “You . . . you noticed.” “Of course I noticed.” Another sip—as Eric had said himself, for courage. “I notice all kinds of things about you. I notice that you hate the foyer as much as I do. I notice that you always point out Casseopeia first when we sit on the balcony, probably because it’s your favorite, but you also have a soft spot for Lyra, and you can find Cygnus without even looking straight at it. I notice that you dote on Pepper even though he scares you. I notice that you always say ‘ignore me’ when you’re starting to think of ideas, even though I damn well would never do that because everything you say is worth a listen. I notice that you sometimes can’t remember which other spirits we talked to yesterday, but you can remember all your favorite lines from books you read years ago. I notice how you love to talk with your hands. I notice that you taught yourself to read tea leaves just to make Síofra happy, because that’s the kind of friend you are. I notice that you have strong opinions about boy bands for someone who claims he can’t stand them. I notice that when you’re upset, your accent gets thicker and your r’s disappear. I notice that you talk about your sisters like they hung the moon. I notice that when I pay you a compliment, you always look a little more solid, like no one’s bothered giving you many of those before—but that has to be wrong, because anyone who’s known you for even just a month would surely be singing your praises at least as often as this thick-headed lad from the country. You deserve every lovely word in the world I can think of, and then some.”
“Because of you.” I paused to swallow, but my voice still came out low and unsteady as I gave what felt like a confession I’d been carrying for years: “And I’m not. Because of me—because I’m mad at myself for missing so many other chances to do this.”
I was so drawn to the spark of his energy, so overwhelmed by the way it danced against my skin, that I had done something big and vulnerable and asked him to eat for me.
POV: You’re the ghost he’s smiling at, the caption read, and my chest tightened. The top comment read: Find someone who looks at you the way this gorgeous man looks at . . . whatever’s on the ceiling. And beneath it: When your crush is invisible, but your joy is not. Smokeshow.exe has stopped working.
“Raff,” I said gently, “you flirt by arguing about the right way to eat Maltesers.”
Eric?” he added, a softly hopeful note in it. I loved when he said my name. “My knee is giving me awful grief, but would you come here a moment so I can kiss you and remind you that you can count on me?”
“Come up to Síofra’s balcony with me tonight, after we make the usual rounds—and count the remaining ghosts. We can watch the stars and talk in our place. Somewhere quiet. Okay?” The way he said our place warmed something in me that had been cold for years. “Wouldn’t miss it.”
“I think I need to focus on moving you on first,” he rushed to say. “Before you disappear on me, too. I can’t—” His voice broke, like the time he tried to sing Backstreet Boys. Only no one was laughing now. “I can’t risk that. You deserve peace. And I—I deserve to know that you’re somewhere good, not in a monster’s belly.”
Afraid of whatever came next. Afraid of losing Raff before we’d really had a chance to try out this thing between us.
Because the thought of losing him—really losing him—made something inside me unravel.
“Because he’s been alone for so long,” I managed, though my voice was mangled, “and he shouldn’t be. No one deserves that, but especially not him. I don’t want him getting hurt by another spirit, or spending all his time in a dungeon
“You came back.” His voice was warmer than it should have been. God, this was going to hurt. “You sound surprised,” I teased, forcing a smile.
“Then that’s what we’ll do. And we’ll make it fun while we’re at it, so you always smile when you think of me. So you don’t forget me.” “As if there’s any chance of that,” I said gruffly, my throat once again tightening on me. “Come here, then.”
“But we’re incredibly emotionally well-adjusted experts in the arts of romance and ghost hunting, and we make a great team,”
AKA ERIC’S AFTERLIFE AGENDA
That’s right. I stole Raff’s pen.
1. Finish one last D&D campaign
2. Learn how I really died (Maybe we can find an autopsy report)
3. Return overdue library books to Beacon Street
4. Eat a full Irish breakfast (Raff to eat, I’ll live vicariously)
5. Get drunk on Guinness (Raff again, taking one for the team)
6. Apologize to Chloe for missing her wedding (Email her? I know it’s weird)
7. Buy the teapot Mom wanted and ship it to the States
8. Take a selfie with a sheep
9. Win at pub trivia (In the castle will have to do. I’m calling our team Dead Inside)
10. I’ll tell you this one if we get there, Raff. In private.
For what it’s worth, I don’t even care about most of this stuff anymore—mostly number 2 and number 10. It’ll be good to get a message to my family, too. Hopefully this doesn’t mess up our spell from the village witch.
Number 10: I’d always wanted to bottom for someone. Not just anyone, though. Someone I trusted completely. Someone who saw me, and made me feel safe enough to let go. Someone I was sure I could invite in without regret.
“Eric . . . that was . . . don’t go anywhere,” he muttered, resting his head against mine. “I’m not,” I whispered. “I won’t. I’ve got you, and you’ve got me.”
Mostly by him, whenever I got a certain look on my face. “Still here.” For now, I didn’t say.
You spoiled me with the charcuterie board at the banquet, too.”
HE’S MINE “No, he’s mine “Yours? Is that how it is?” “Thought that was obvious.” I kissed his forehead and tried not to let him feel how I was still shaking at my core. “Mine,” I repeated to the restless gloom and shadows that moved on their own as we hurried outside for some fresh autumn air. “Mine.”
“I love you,” I whispered when he stirred slightly in his sleep. “Love you, Raff.”
At 8:26pm, I cried actual tears, because I knew Raff was doing it all—looking after the other ghosts—for me. Staying close to the danger for me.
“I used to hate it here. But now I don’t even regret getting stranded for sixteen years because I got to spend a little time with you. And I promise, wherever I’m going next, if I become stardust or drift through the universe or something else I can’t even think of, I’m never going to forget you. Life with you has been really, really good. Good enough that I’m at peace with everything even though I was murdered.”
“You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” he rasped. “And I should’ve said it sooner, but I can’t let you leave without you knowing—I love you.” “I love you.” “I know,” I said, my chest heaving with a sob. “I counted the heartbeats.” “I love you so much,” he repeated with conviction, and the hopelessness of a doomed man who knew exactly what he was about to lose. “Don’t—” He stopped himself there, but I understood what he’d been about to say: don’t leave me. I also knew why he wasn’t saying it. Because he’d rather know I was safe than feeding the elemental that might still hurt him or a lot of other innocent people. “I’ll live on in you,” I told him gently, leaning in to kiss his cheek. “As long as you remember me, I’ll never really leave you. But I know, I—I don’t want to face what’s next without you, either, when I only just found out how good it can be to have someone who holds your hand in the dark.”
I turned to Raff, and felt a tug warmer and sharper than anything this place could offer. I chose the shape of my body, breath and ache and being loved by him. As long as he was in the world, I wasn’t done with it after all. I chose to stay, letting the world pull me back into myself, reshaping my physical form from that tidewater of memory. I wasn’t done yet. Half-asleep, I nuzzled his hair, which tickled my nose and smelled like belonging. He was my reason to stay. I was home.
“I have a pulse!” I yelped when he opened his startled eyes to peer blearily into mine. And then I added, because I could, “And I love you.” “Yours, and alive,” “I think, because of that spell we did, I got to choose, and I wanted to stay here with you. To fight stupid evil Gary together and free the other ghosts if we can, and . . . be your boyfriend . . . and try your mom’s colcannon
“If I die again,” Eric said bravely, squeezing my hand, “I want it to be with you.”
“Next is the part where I get to keep you,” I told Eric as I scooped up Pepper and passed him to the person he really wanted to see.
He was crying and saying yes before he even saw the ring. Which he loved once he finally stopped kissing me and took a proper look at it. “Can I have your last name?” he asked as a wave slammed into the side of the boat. I held tight to him, one hand clutching his jacket while I gripped the rail for dear life with my other. The Irish Sea was unpredictable at the best of times. “I mean,” he added once we had leveled out and heard some shouted reassurance from the captain, “I know it’s old-fashioned or whatever, but since I’m supposedly Irish now anyway, I just figured—” “Anything I have is yours,” I cut in, because I was glad to give it to him.
And then we got to work on the idea that was born that night: The Living Dead Guys.
“I’m Raff O’Meara,” I’d say during our intro, leaning over the mic and winking at Eric. “Former ExorSquad employee who lived to tell the tale.” “And I’m Eric O’Meara,” he’d chime in, already that excited by his new last name. “Just a random guy who knows a lot about what it’s like to be dead.”
First I love the Irish language in this one!

Okay, I absolutely LOVED this one! Give me a gorgeous ghost, a creepy Irish castle, a murder mystery and two men with undeniable chemistry and I am SOLD. 😂
Rafferty O’Meara finds himself working for ExorSquad and gets sent to a castle absolutely crawling with ghosts. His job should be straightforward, but then he meets Eric James Crawford—a gorgeous ghost who was murdered at the castle and has no idea who killed him.
And these two?! 😍 I was OBSESSED!
I loved the way Raff and Eric's relationship developed. There was so much banter, flirting and chemistry, but underneath all of that was this really sweet connection. Raff becomes determined to help Eric discover the truth about his death, and watching that friendship slowly turn into something more had me grinning like an idiot.
The mystery was so much fun too! There were secrets, creepy supernatural happenings and plenty of moments where I was trying to figure out exactly what had happened to Eric. The whole castle setting gave everything such a deliciously spooky atmosphere.
But honestly, it was the combination of romance, humour and paranormal chaos that completely won me over. I was laughing one minute, getting suspicious about the murder the next, and then swooning over Raff and Eric. 😂❤️
I adored these two, I loved the supernatural mystery, and I am VERY much ready for more ExorSquad!

I can honestly say reading this book was a pleasure!
It’s so warm and loving and full of surprise joy and hopefulness.
Raff really finds his place in the world by the end which is a vast change from the start of the book. He was living just a half life really just coasting around barely alive. Then he gets a job at the haunted castle and really you see who he is as a person. Hired to get rid of ghosts and ends up finding ways to keep them happy so they’re not messing things up anymore. Such a loving and caring soul and you just instantly love him.
And when he meets Eric, that poor man didn’t stand a chance. Raff was clearly destined to love that boy with all he was worth and he does so perfectly and purely.
The book does lead up to a grand climactic battle but really it’s barely part of the whole story. It’s really a book about love and treasuring it.

Ugh this is such a cute couple. Both of them just adorable as fuck. Totally swooning over them. I had the best time following their love story.
Just as all the other books in the series this book is equally funny as it is emotianal. I had some laughs and some tears while reading.

Argh, I am loving how each new author who contributes to this series continues to develop the world's lore around the paranormal. Sarah Glenn Marsh’s take on this world had me on the verge of tears. The lore she added had me on tenterhooks, not knowing how things were going to end for Eric and Raff.
Rafferty O’Mera, better known as Raff, was a Hurling champion. The sport ran in his veins, and he was headed for great things, until a freak accident caused him to tear his ACL, effectively ending his career before it started. Fighting depression and the reminder of what could have been, Raf turned his back on his life and friends to find something else. What he found was ExorSquad. After a few successful missions under his belt, he is given the job of clearing out the ghosts from Ardruin Castle. But what waits for him will change his life forever.
Raff is determined; he also comes across as slightly depressed following the upheaval his ACL injury created in his life. He’s also a very kind person, always looking for ways to help move on ghosts in a respectful manner. He puts their wellbeing above his own, even when helping one ghost in particular makes him feel like his own world is about to end.
Eric James Crawford has been dead for 16 years, but only recently has he ‘awoken’ in his ghost form. He is a powerful ghost, building up friendships with the other ghosts haunting Ardruin Castle. They can sometimes find it hard to contain themselves, and recently it has been causing a few issues for the Castle owners. When Raff appears to move them all along, Eric feels a strange connection between their energies, and can’t help but start to get to know him better.
Eric is a nerd, capital N. He remembers being on holiday with his family from America, but not the events that led to his death. He is protective of his found family, and when things turn south for them all, He will do anything, including trying to move on, to protect the man he has started to fall in love with.
I loved this story so much; the emotions Sarah evoked through her story had me sighing with euphoria as Eric and Raff explored their friendship and then watching as it eventually developed into more. This was a bit of a slow-burn romance to start off with, but when they discovered what each other wanted/desired, the sparks flew and it got raunchy quite quickly. I love how Raff treated Eric with so much care and devotion, worshipping him like he deserved to be, and how Eric did the same for Raff. I love how they noticed the little things about each other, and how they adjusted to be able to support each other in the way they needed.
As the story progressed and the antagonist started rearing their head, my heart started to break as they made choices they thought necessary to protect each other. I had to put the book down several times as my eyes betrayed me and filled with tears. But that’s what makes a great story: that emotional connection. And boy did I have one for these characters! The ending was perfection; I love the way it was hinted at throughout the story and how it all came to fruition at the end.
I 100% recommend this story to anyone wanting a ghost romance.

The title for book 6 in the Exorsquad Series is, How I Met Your Murderer and Sarah continues the tradition of writing a smash can't put down read.
I do love me a ginger, I married one, but there is more to Raff and his tangled curls. Raff has to be the most endearing character. He is sweet, charming and has this way of being the first to help, no alterior motive, except to be of use. He has taken a shite job with elExorsquad and learns quickly that Gerald didn't set him up for success. He utilizes that heartwarming personality, empathy, and quick thinking to comes up with alternative ways to help the ghosts and people living with these not necessarily evil entities. Simple things like leaving out snacks, new toys, a little routine and fun makes for happy, less mischievous ghosts.
Then along comes Eric, a bit of a klepto for anything Raff. He immediately has this overwhelming desire to protect Raff while admiring those broad shoulder. He offers to help navigate this ancient castle and its oh so many occupants. They make a great team, the best team.
Raff figures out there is more to this haunting and enlists the help of Niamh, a local witch. Niamh she breaths hope into Raff, and a way to protect Eric. This part was so interesting to watch unravel. As these two smitten men shared in tasks to help Eric it also woke something in Raff.
This book had a lovely spooky mystery, amazing side characters, including a leg humping Pepper. As I read I kept think how is Sarah going to make this a happy ever after, this better be a hea or Gary won't be the real big bad it will be the author. But it slowly developed as the character arc unfolded over a two month time period, slow, sweet and from friendship love always grows. There was another god forsaken chandelier, seriously always thought they brought whimsy and twinkle but I will never trust them again. 😄
I came away with a new favourite saying too...acting the maggot!
And you know your limits, so read the author's content warnings
Thank you Sarah Glenn Marsh for this ARC. I received an advanced reader copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I swear, this series just keeps getting better, and Raff and Eric completely stole my heart.
Raff starts this book in such a different place emotionally, and I really loved watching him find a sense of purpose again. He’s sent to a haunted castle to deal with the ghosts, only to end up actually caring about them and trying to help instead. Then he meets Eric, an American ghost who has been stuck at the castle for years and doesn’t even know the truth about how he died.
These two were so sweet together. Their relationship takes its time, and I loved that their connection wasn’t just about attraction. They genuinely started to understand and care for each other, and watching Raff help Eric work through his unfinished business had me in my feelings more than once.
The ghost-hunting mystery was really fun too, especially with all the different ghosts and the whole situation surrounding Eric’s death. There was plenty of humor mixed in with the heavier moments, which made the emotional parts hit even harder.
And that ending? I was genuinely stressed about how everything was going to work out, but the payoff was SO worth it. I may have gotten a little emotional.
Raff and Eric deserved their happy ending, and I loved getting to watch them find their way to each other. Another fantastic addition to ExorSquad, and I already know I’m going to miss this series when it’s over.

I really wish I could give this a higher rating than 5. This book was amazing, all of the ExorSquad books so far have been brilliant but this has been one of my all time favourites.
As with all previous books there is a ghost plot woven throughout...yet again we have Gerald up to his old tricks, how he is still operating a business is anyone's guess at this point! Raff is working for the Irish side of it and out of everyone (perhaps bar Hollis) is one of the most competent members of the team. His latest job at Ardruin Castle however definitely pushes him to his limits and it was really enjoyable to read.
That said, what drew me in the most was Raff and Eric, the way their relationship developed was just beautiful. For me the ghost plot took more of a back seat instead focusing on these two. Their relationship just felt so real and organic, the almost kiss, the actual kissing and eventual intimate scenes along with their rounds, star gazing and eating together. I couldn't believe how much I adored these two.
From start to end, I was emotionally connected to this book, I laughed and I cried which I hadn't expected at all but no regrets. It left me wanting more to be honest, the epilogue was fantastic but I would love to see what happened further down the line with them.
I won't be forgetting this book anytime soon or these characters. Anyone looking for good book recommendations from me will be getting this shouted at them!!

Up to book 6 of the ExorSquad series and I am already starting to miss it, even though I still have two more books to go.
Another great addition to the series, with two of the most likeable leads yet - Raff and Eric certainly had my heart. There were some truly beautiful scenes between them, and I shed a few tears towards the end of the book with how beautiful their story was.
Here's my favourite quote from the book: 'I was never enough for the people I had spent my whole life trying to impress. But with Raff? I was more than enough, and I didn't even have to try.'
Here's the story, Raff has started the Ireland leg of ExorSquad after injury cut short his curling career. He is good luck so far with ghost hunting, but heads to a very haunted castle, where things are worse than seem. Here he meets Eric, an American ghost, who like many here, died mysteriously. As Halloween approaches it obvious that something very dark is threatening all the living and dead inhabitants of the castle.
Besides our wonderful leads, there are some great supporting character - just like the rest of books in this series, the others ghosts are all filled with wonderful characters who provide heart and humour.
A wonderful read!

This was such a great book filled with suspense, a fantastic plot and a slow burn relationship filled with tension.
Raff is the type of guy who is thoughtful and always puts others first. He had a career ending injury which led him to work for ExorSquad. He is sent to Adruin Castle which is filled with ghosts, his toughest job yet. That is until he meets Eric, a beautiful helpful ghost who he falls for.
I really enjoyed the tension between Eric and Raf, there was something so special about their relationship. They both were so genuine and caring towards each other. I loved seeing their relationship evolve. The need they had for each other was so apparent. This was the perfect amount of spooky, spicy, and adorable all at the same time and I loved it. The spicy scenes were so hot and the caring moments in between were so tender.
I enjoyed reading about all of the spirits in the castle and how Raff went about keeping the peace. The found family aspect and how they all protected each other- Especially Raf and Eric was so precious💖 The mystery of the all powerful sinister presence in the house kept me on the edge of my seat. The writing, characters, and story were all excellent. I enjoyed reading this so much, what an excellent addition to an amazing series 🫶

LOVED this one. For the first time we meet an ExorSquad member who has worked for the company for multiple jobs. We're reading about a guy who is close to an actual expert. Raff is a former jock (he was in to 'hurling' but was injured and decided to do THIS instead) working for the Irish division of ExorSquad. (Yes, I had to look up 'hurling' - according to the internet it's very popular in Ireland - looks like a cross between soccer/field hockey/lacrosse?) Raff's the kind of guy who figures out what will make the ghosts happy instead of insisting they move on and once they are happy they stop causing problems.
Raff comes to the castle, finds there are a LOT of ghosts, runs into Eric immediately, and over the course of several months he and Eric the ghost fall in love. It's a sweet romance full of lots of getting to know each other and not so much spice (because Eric's a ghost). By the end, Raff is successful in getting all the ghosts to pass on, but not defeating the Big Bad in the castle - although he stuns it long enough for them all to escape. And of course, Eric becomes human. But how they get there is a pleasure to read. Nice epilogue too, showing where they go next.

Totally obsessed with Raff and Eric! Ugh... these men are the cutest, sweetest, most adorable couple ever and they are so perfect no wonder death can't even keep them apart. I'm not even really a cinnamon roll MC kinda girl, but this jock cinnamon roll x nerd cinnamon roll combo has me squealing! I don't want to let these guys go!
This was the kind of tender yet spooky paranormal romance that will just live rent free in my head until someone gives me an exorcism. And that food scene is highlighted, bookmarked, and I don't think I will ever be able to look at a charcuterie board or cheese plate without clenching my thighs ever again. How I Met Your Murderer definitely unlocked something in my brain I didn't know was there.
All the spirits were so quirky and fun, and I didn't want to let them go. This was funny, sweet, and full of soul while still being spooky and unexpectedly emotional. Yeah, I may have cried a bit at one part and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
Absolutely Fabulous!

How I Met Your Murderer has been one of those books I’ve been looking forward to for months.
Being part of Sarah’s Street Team meant hearing about Raff and Eric long before I ever got to meet them, so finally reading their story felt a little like meeting friends of a friend for the first time. And honestly, I completely understood the hype.
This book is chaotic, funny, wonderfully horny, and surprisingly tender. Raff and Eric have such a fun dynamic, but what really got me was how much heart there is underneath all the ghosts and general mayhem.
Sarah’s love for these characters is so evident in the writing, and I think that’s what made them feel so special to me. I also absolutely loved the way Ireland became part of the story itself. It’s atmospheric without ever overshadowing the characters.
I’ve been waiting for this one for what feels like forever, and I’m so happy I finally got to meet Raff and Eric. I have a feeling this is going to become one of those books I pull off the shelf every spooky season.

Wow i mean no words. This was an absolute work of art i genuinely adored the little notes and how we got to feel like we were peeking in Raff's diary and they were both just so adorable ya'll their relationship was so so cute i was giggling the whole time and i can't lie ya'll the angst might've made me shed a few tears but ykw thats the beauty of it. especially when we found out how Eric actually died like, no spoilers but ya'll gotta brace yourself, it happened so fast i was like "..HUH?" genuinely idk how to feel about the slow..slow..slow..FASTTT SPEED thing this book had going on because i almost DNF'ed a few times cz i was like omg when is something interesting gonna happen but when it did, it hit me like a train so just beware of that if you're not a fan of that kind of thing this might not be for you.
S.N: i loved the epilogue so so much.

ARC Read: Gosh do I just love it when we have these hunky, protective men who would do anything to keep their loved one safe! Raff and Eric are so cute together. I love friends to lovers, even when it’s ghost friends to lovers apparently. Both of them instantly just having the gut feeling that the other was a safe person (or ghost) that they could trust, makes my heart melt. When you know, you know. I loved seeing Raff’s way he uses his ExorSquad skills, just being a sweetheart with unconventional ways to make the ghosts happy. And Eric being even happier cause this sweet man was taking time and care for his ghost friends too. I was terrified every time Raff had to walk in that main room though because of his second sight. I’m glad there wasn’t too many crazy second sight things cause I don’t know how my heart would’ve taken it. But also there could’ve been more lol Another great book in the series and I hope the last book has someone kicking Gerald’s ass!

Raff & Eric are officially my new favorite of Sarah's couples! I'm obsessed! Raff is an injured former hurler who puts community before self (swoon) and is hoping that the ExorSquad will give him a new sense of purpose. Eric is a deceased game designer looking for love and the approval his parents never offered (mom hugs needed). They choose one another and it's magical. There's a scene in which they discuss what they notice about one another, and I cried so hard. The love!
What you'll find between the covers:
☆ Jock x Nerd
☆ The yearning
☆ Acapella summoning
☆ Flirting with food
☆ A van with a mattress
☆ A weiner dog desperate to hump ghost leg
☆ Making a sofa unsellable
And sooooooo much more!
Honorable mention goes to the setting. It's spooky season perfection - a haunted Irish castle with a bloody past and the ghosts to prove it.
Five stars for vibes, making me cry both happy and sad tears, inspiring me to do research, and a love strong enough to qualify as necromancy.

I was privileged to be the first reader of HIMYM, and I wish I could rate it six stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is the best romance I’ve ever read: the relationship was so sweet, the conversations felt natural, the flirting was hot, and the spicy scenes added much more depth to their story.
On top of that, the plot surrounding their relationship was intriguing- the PERFECT place to fall in love with a ghost is 100% a castle in Ireland. And speaking of Ireland, you can tell the author themself is proud of their Irish heritage with the traditional Irish names, inclusion of actual Irish dialogue, and the way in which the setting is presented with respect and compassion.
These men are PRECIOUS to me and their love for each other is gentle, compassionate, true, caring, and nurturing.

Levitation and biting fingers worthy.

When you have lived and breathed hurling for your county only to have an injury steal away the privilege, of course you are going to lose yourself and your way!
That’s exactly what happened to Raff and how he managed to end up with the Exosquad crew. And now he’s in the middle of his biggest haunting to date and he’s by himself. Though rather than be overwhelmed he makes “friends” with Eric! The American ghost who doesn’t know how he ended up dead. But he sure knows all the other ghosts and is more than happy to help Raff.
The two of them together are the cutest and so obviously made for each other! I love that through Eric, Raff starts to find out exactly who is and where he wants to be!

I received an early copy of this book from the author, and let me tell you, it is FANTASTIC! Raff and Eric meet in the most unlikely circumstances: Eric is a ghost and Raff is a recently retired athlete turned ghost extractor. Set in modern-day Ireland, their story involves many other ghosts (so many good characters!), the mystery of Eric’s death, a brother and sister determined to get their venue ready for the big night in spite of ghosts, and an impossible (and sweet and spicy!) romance. I love this story and can’t wait for everyone to meet these characters!

I’m trying really hard to find words to describe this book. What I know is that I got into it really fast, first few pages and I was involved. I needed more, so much more that I finish the book in one day. That’s how good it was.
Raff and Eric… What can I say more than wow. Eric was as sweet as a candy, and I’d love to hug them both. But especially Eric. His story made my eyes leak a little (but don’t tell anyone that). I’m so glad they got the happy ending they DESERVED.
Thank you for another amazing book

Raff and Eric story was entertaining, filled with humour and emotion, as well as a hard earned happiness.
It has quirky characters, angst, teasing and shenanigans, as well as sweet loving moments.
I liked how their relationship progressed, how they deepened their connection, how they worry about the other’s safety when the danger increases, as well as the way they learn new things about themselves and each other.
I liked that they achieved their happiness and the scene that made it possible was very emotional.

This was a blast to read! I don’t normally read stories like these but it was so much fun and just an overall great story!
Eric and Raff were literally so adorable and refreshing! There interactions were truly top tier. Watching them fall in love and ALSO trying to figure how Eric died was an adventure to say the least. I was laughing and swooning the whole time. And loved the overall story telling for this! Easy to follow and easy to fall in love with!!

This was so fun to read. I loved Eric as a character, and was rooting for him to find peace from the moment he was introduced. Raff wasn’t what I expected him to be, but I was delighted as I got to know his personality more as the story went on. Such a fun addition to this series!!
Expect:
- haunted castle
- ghost / human
- forced proximity
- chaotic ghosts
- hurt / comfort
- longing (so much longing)
- first times

We're in Ireland! A lot if Irish names and phrases, but FYI, there's a glossary at the end so don't have to check the pronounciations on the internet.
Raff and Eric were so cute together, and hilarious. There was some hurt/comfort in the story as well, and I loved how both gave and received love and care.
I want to go to Ireland now...

Cute, heartwarming, quirky and fun in a good way! Eric is just a cinnamon roll ghostie and Raff is just a wonderful sweetheart of a ghostbuster.

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
This book…had me either on the verge of crying or full on crying because of how beautiful it was. Raff and Eric are everything. The found family, both living and dead, was so amazingly done. I wish I could read this book for the first time again. 💕
