Wholly crappers what did I just read? It was like trying not to look at a car crash. But was I intrigued??? Yes! Was it also the darkest thing I’ve ever read? Also yes! Am I picking up the next one right this second?? Hell yes! ( oh no it’s not coming out until July 😞)

I liked it! I’m a dark romance girly, not normally into erotic horror at all, but I read the blurb and I was like: “… Okay, screw it, I HAVE to try this, and if I don’t like it… Well, then I’ll go back to d.r. Easy!” 🤷♀️
Easier still when I found out it was only 200 pages. I’d normally assume that that isn’t long enough to construct a proper story, but I’ve learned multiple things today while reading this, it’d seem, because this book is quite a ride 👏😁
But this book is not for the weak, so pleeeaaase read the damn triggerwarnings, girl! 🖤

How can you refuse a book like that? And still if this doesn't do it for you, the story will! Here we have Victoria, an accountant trying to survive a glitchy, late-night shift at her office building. Just as the technology starts to fail her, she realizes she’s not alone and what starts as a tense "stuck in the office" thriller quickly turns into a dark game of cat-and-mouse. Add to this a masked man or two and one of my favorite tropes Captive x Captor and you have the perfect novella! But what really makes it 5 stars is the ending because the twist is absolutely fabulous!

I don’t even know where to start with this one… Overnight by Kerrigan Shane completely pulled me in from the first page and did not let go.
The energy of this story is dark, intense, and honestly a little unsettling in the best way. Being stuck in that eerie workplace where nothing feels right? You can feel the tension building the whole way through. I was hooked straight away and couldn’t put it down.
What really got me was how the story plays with control, fear, and obsession. It’s one of those reads where you’re constantly questioning what’s real, what’s not, and where it’s all going. It’s definitely on the darker side, so go in prepared for that energy.
And the twists… I genuinely didn’t see them coming. Just when I thought I had it figured out, it shifted again. That ending? I’m still thinking about it.

So this was all over facey-b with the reviews rolling in & of course my FOMO plus seeing one of my fav authors rating it too meant it was a straight up purchase. And my god did this jump straight in & it did not let up through out the whole read!! 🤯😱
Victoria is trapped at work, not the snowed under, can’t get away trapped but the psychically no way out trapped. The systems are down, her key card doesn’t work, she can’t even access the stairwell.
And why are the phone lines down? Even her cell is out of service! What’s going on?! It feels eerie, like a scene out of a horror movie waiting to happen…it can’t be happening to her though right?!
WRONG, a 6ft tall doll faced masked man has come to claim her & he wants no disturbances to get in the way of his fun 🫣

Kerrigan Shane writes it well. Nice flow, easy to read, keeps reader engaged as the plot develops becoming more depraved with each page turned.
I thought to myself half way through the novella - this is some deranged shit, but the plot twist at the end made the book's very dark and twisted theme insightful, and left me wanting to continue on with the next in this series.

Kerrigan really hit all the marks and then some! Sexy, bloody and just down right disgusting. I absolutely loved every second of it and once I picked it up I could hardly put it down. I love a good twist and this one really threw me! I wasn’t expecting the ending at all. This one really just did it for me and would definitely recommend to anyone that’s down with the sick and twisted.

Disturbing, dark and disgustinggggg but in a good way ofc if you’re a little bit messed up 😈. This book was insane and the twist at the end had me with my jaw on the floor like WHAT?!? Please, please do not go into this book thinking it’s an easy read, I can handle it, I have no triggers because I can promise you it goes from 0-60 in 2.2 seconds flat no warm up, just BOOM woahhhh. I enjoyed it and I’m curious to see where it goes from here for sure!

And then she realizes…she’s not alone. What starts off as a tense, locked in office situation quickly turns into a dark, twisted game of cat and mouse. Which is always one of my favs.
From the first page, this book grabs you and doesn’t let go. The atmosphere is so claustrophobic and heavy, and there’s this constant tension that just keeps building. It’s not just the danger. it’s the way everything blurs together in a way that feels unsettling and addictive at the same time.
The spice? Chefs kiss, it blended into the tension in a way that made everything feel even more intense and unpredictable. Dark, chaotic, and just unhinged enough to fit the story perfectly. And that flashlight scene?? 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼
And the twist? That’s what really sealed it for me. I usually have a pretty good idea where things are going, but this one completely threw me.
This was dark, gripping, and honestly just a wild ride from start to finish. If you like stories that push the edge and keep you guessing, this one is definitely worth picking up.

Victoria is getting frustrated. She stayed late and now her phone isn’t working. So she decides to just leave. But when she tries the elevator and the stairs door her key card doesn’t work. And of course her phone still isn’t working to call maintenance. So she heads back to her office and not long after exactly what she feared would happen, happened. Now there’s a masked guy here to kidnap her. Of course she tries to not make it easy on him. This book was every bit the erotic horror book that it promised. I finished it so quick. I absolutely will be checking out the other books by this author. Thank you!! Make sure you check your triggers though as this is very dark and graphic. I thought I knew who one of the guys were around chapter 6 but I was very wrong. I did not see the ending coming!!

What the hell did I just read?! I’m in a few FB groups and so many people talked about DNFing it because of how depraved, brutal, and disgusting it is, so naturally I had to read it because I’m curious.
This book was a WILD ride, I kept putting it down and then coming right back because I couldn’t wrap my head around what I was reading; like what is wrong with the person who wrote this and what is wrong with me for not just putting it down. THEN came the last 20ish pages and I was out loud yelling WAIT WAIT WHAT THE FXCK and then the last couple pages SPOILER: they know each other and they low key planned this?! She was in on this?! Was she is on all of it? Or just some of it? I did not see that coming and thought this was just some brutal torture nonconsent p0rn on paper, which technically it is but clearly not nonconsent given the last couple pages. I need the second book now because I NEED answers.

This was my first ever pitch-black read. I was very nervous and intimidated starting, but from start to finish I was absolutely intrigued and engrossed. Kerrigan Shane always does SO well! All the way down to her writing style. Personally, for me, it’s so fluent and flows so well to me! There was one part that mayyyy have… triggered me? It made me a little queasy, but even then, I still couldn’t put it down!… and oh my gosh!!! That plot twist is something you absolutely would NEVER see coming! Once again, Kerrigan leaves me speechless at the end! Such a great read for those pitch-black readers!!

I read it in one sitting, it was so sickeningly addictive. It was fucked up and beyond dark, yet I couldn't stop reading. Extra kudos for the heroine being a fellow anime girly. The ending for sure was a shock, I didn't expect the twist and I loved it, and further I like how this book could kind of be reread from the beginning and it changes the ending...read it and you'll know what I mean. This was perfect for a short, spicy read, and borderline horror, just make sure you're ready for it and check the TWs, because this book will test you...

Kerrigan wasted no time jumping right into the darkness with Overnight! From the first few pages you are already introduced to some scenes that will have you questioning your morals! Well this was definitely pitch black! It jumps straight into the story and keeps you on your toes throughout the whole book!! I will never look at gummy bears the same! I would agree that it is a horror but the best kind. after that ending I cant wait for the next one. I really hope there is a next one, and the shock at the end!!! You will.love this book!

The only drawback I had was I wished their was more detail in the story. I wanted all the details, pain, torment, everything.

I have never read a book by Kerrigan before and wasn’t sure what to expect. I was given the opportunity to receive an ARC and I’m happy that I did.
Make sure to check triggers as this is very dark and graphic. With that said, I did not see the ending coming at all and had me rethinking everything I had read before the ending. I enjoyed this read a lot! Even the ending!

This is a quick erotic horror novella. I was hooked from the first page. Now, it does get dark and maybe a little taboo which is why i said check your triggers! Oh and did I mention masked men? As in more than one?
The ending wasn't at all what I was expecting but I love that about it! 10/10 recommend! Will definitely be reading more from her!
This is a quick erotic horror novella. I was hooked from the first page. Now, it does get dark and maybe a little taboo which is why i said check your triggers! Oh and did I mention masked men? As in more than one?
The ending wasn't at all what I was expecting but I love that about it! 10/10 recommend! Will definitely be reading more from her!

Absolutely loved this book!!! Check your trigger warnings! If you want a Pitch Black Spicy Romance filled with flavour & great characters - this is the book for you!

My mouth is still on the floor! Not only was the sexual horror *chefs kiss* but the plot twist at the end had me on edge when it finally clicked. Will read 100% again!!
