This tightly-written memoir is a must-read for anyone who has ever stood next to a deteriorating patient--or anyone who has wondered what it is like to stand in those shoes. The prose is often lyrical, containing an impressive amount of clinical meaning in few words. One can almost imagine his voice reading it.

I highly recommend this book!
I have heard of Surgeon's God complex and was curious to see what I would find out when reading this book.
This book pulls down their masks and shows just how human they are. I really love this book and really enjoyed reading it.
This book is so engaging that I looked forward to the next chapter. It is easy to read, as a non medical professional I did not need a dictionary next to me to understand.
