West Pine Bullies #2

Make It Stop: A Dark Why Choose Bully Romance

Rate this book
**Make It Stop is the second book in the West Pine Bullies Duet. The follow contains spoilers for Make it Hurt**

"I don't mind if I scare you, Saige. I scare myself sometimes. Just know that as long as you're mine, you don't have to be afraid of anything else. And you're always going to be mine."

My name is Saige Ripley, and no one knows I’m a murderer—no one except for my stepbrother, Elias, and his friends, Dax and Nolan.

I should have said "no" when they offered to help me, but I didn’t. Instead, I agreed to do whatever they wanted, thinking it had to be better than going to prison.

I’m not so sure anymore.

What I agreed to was a different kind of prison, and to make things worse, no matter how hard I tried to fight it, I fell for them, and it ended exactly the way I thought it would.

They betrayed me. But they won’t let me go.

And on top of it all, the person who attacked me is still out there, and I don’t know what to believe anymore. I don’t know who to trust.

Not all monsters lurk in the darkness. Some hide in plain sight.

Elle Mitchell

Known as the (mostly benevolent) Queen of Angst, Elle Mitchell writes new adult contemporary romance ranging from shades of grey to morally pitch black with a hint of taboo. A mix of plot and spice, her books follow flawed, relatable characters as they rage against the machine or struggle against the darker parts of humanity and themselves. They’re messy—like real life—and emotional.

She can’t promise that all her books will depict what a healthy relationship should look like at every turn. She rejects purity themes. The best she can do is promise an eventual HEA when it’s all said and done.

When she isn’t reading or writing, it’s unlikely you’ll find her anywhere. She’s probably at home with her family, minding her own business.

No surprise here! I loved this duet about as much as I’ve loved anything written by Elle. Elle has a real talent for writing beautifully messy characters and layered, complicated storylines, and this one absolutely delivered.

I won’t lie… Elias made me want to strangle him about 90% of the time. He’s an incredibly complex character who will genuinely piss you off and he never sugar coats or make you fall in love with him. This is a true bully romance, so if that’s not your thing, this storyline might not work for you. My favorite man will always be Nolan of course, his storyline alone makes this series worth it.

Both books are packed with spice. I’m talking SO MUCH SPICE! especially book two🫢🔥🔥🔥🔥

If you enjoy:

* Bully romance
* Taboo stepbrother dynamics
* Why choose
* MMFM
* Suspenseful storylines

You’re going to love this duet.

No grovel

Not so much as an apology. Sage is a doormat. Really unsatisfying. I don't need the mmc to turn into a good person, but I do want to feel like the ending is a hea and I couldn't bc sage stays so dumb

Let’s Talk About It

I had such high expectations going into Make It Stop by Elle Mitchell—the first book completely blew me away, and I was honestly nervous this one wouldn’t live up to it. But wow… it absolutely did.
I devoured this book in a single day.
The story picks up right after the traumatic event involving Saige, and from the very beginning, it pulls you right back into the emotional chaos. Elias, Dax, and Nolan are forced to confront just how much Saige means to them—and I loved seeing that shift.
And Saige? She finally gives Elias and Dax a taste of their own medicine. I was so proud of her for that. After everything she put up with in the first book, it was more than deserved. Her growth really shines here.
Of course, Nolan remains the exception to it all—because honestly, how could he not be? He’s just… everything.
The twists and turns had me completely hooked. I was on edge the entire time, constantly questioning what was coming next. And let’s talk about Elias for a second—he’s always been a little unhinged, but this book really pushes you to wonder… how far could he actually go?
The ending gave me exactly what I needed: a satisfying HEA that made the emotional rollercoaster worth every second.

Roman Empire

What can I say, I like romance that hurts a little bit, okay, a lot. Make It Stop was the perfect blend of hurt, tension, spice, love, betrayal, revenge, and forgiveness. All wrapped up into a perfectly HEA.

The real villain of Make It Stop is 1000% the author, for making me cry so much. Just kidding, sort of ;).

"My whole life people warned me about the monsters hiding in the dark—the ones like him. They don't tell you about the ones who hide in plain sight. The ones who lure you in, one gentle touch and stolen moment at a time. You don't find out about them—not really—until it's too late."

I really am unsure how I feel about this read - I ate it up, but at the same time I'm not sure I fully enjoyed the degradation throughout this time around.

The MMCs each had their part to continue playing ... Dax - the epic fuck up of a bestie, full of bad influence, kindness & the golden retriever of the group. Nolan who I still wholeheartedly loved 🖤 he was super supportive & FMC Saiges rock/safe space throughout this one ... always there when she needed him - his vulnerability & adoration when it came to her also shined through and was beautiful at times ✨️

Then we come to Step Brother Elias - the true monster & manipulator of the group 💀 His obsession with FMC Saige really does run deep ... he was vunerable, overbearing & harsh when it came to their relationship and her feelings. At times it was hard to read - and their dynamic had my moral compass in a chokehold throughout ... as they were so wrong it had to be/was so right at times ❤️‍🔥

It was nice to see how the dynamic between the 4 of them shifted through the read - but again in places the manipulation & degradation was heavy and a seriously tough read for me.

FMC Saige grew throughout/was on a rollercoaster from the off, from needy to headstrong & back again ... although by the end it was nice to her to find comfort in all the relationships, instead of fear & heartbreak! ❤️‍🩹

The stalker on the sidelines was a great plot, that kept you guessing & questioning what you believed - right up until all was revealed ... keep your wits about you as theres some severe whiplash moments 💥

Overall it was a nice wrap up to the story ... chocked full of HOT spice, character growth & enough wrongfully right moments to have you questioning your own morals 🙈 Thanks for the ride Elle it really was a dark & twisted one ❤️

Plot: 4/5 • Spice: 5/5 ➡️➡️➡️ The continuation of Dax, Nolan, Elias and Saige. This picks off where book one ends. Did Elias hurt Saige? Saige knows in her bones that it wasn’t him. Parts of her mind may be fuzzy, she does have a concussion after all, but she knows he was there, but it wasn’t him.

They try to get her to come back to the house, but she refuses. She patches things up with Nolan first. Elias “second?” and last Dax. Elias and her never really make up lol. They’re step siblings. Can they ever really be together?

Elias gets accused of the “murder/missing girl” and of assaulting Saige. Even Saige gets blinded by everyone and their words. So when it comes down for Miles to strike… let’s just say if it wasn’t for Dax and his over protectiveness they wouldn’t have been able to save Saige in the end.

The climax happens maybe 80ish pages before the book ends. So I was wondering where this was going for a while. I’m glad Elias came to his senses.

there’s plenty of spice in this. Just like in the first one. We do get a HEA. There is kind of an epilogue - there’s a “5 years later” chapter at the end. This was fun. I absolutely devoured this duet. And I really loved that it was a duet and not a series.

I knew i was going to love Elias even more then I did. There is just something about a broken man that is a simp for you but always wants to dominate you 🥵🥵🥵 Nolan is still my favorite especially when the climax of the book happens, I won't say what but lord that means protectiveness with Saige and his unfaulted loyalty to his family. I knew i knew if you know what im saying I just knew I'm like ain't no way and then in the library I was like oh shit here it comes then it came and lord I wish i could say more. Dax is still my least favorite yes he lives her but burning her twice now because of how she was trying to protect her peace my dude no has bottom on my list. The spice was spicing hard in this one is swear it was a spice scene every other or couple chapters but they aren't long or dragged out and with my adhd brain i appreciate the smaller chapters. Elle has yet again written another masterpiece and she continues to prove why she's my favorite author. The way she feels a story and delivers it are phenomenal. The ending to this book i was about to be mad at but then it did something else and im like that's right it better then the epilogue was so cute with how everything happened. Can't wait for whatever Elle writes next.

What a hell of an ending! I once again loved the dynamic between Nolan, Dax and Saige the way they care for her is absolutely unmatched! I especially love the care the two give Nolan and cater to his needs and boundaries. I also really enjoyed the dynamic between Saige and Elias. Is it toxic? Absolutely. Do I care? Absolutely not. I loved the push and pull between the two and them ultimately overcoming what was separating them. I also really loved the overall relationship dynamic between the group and the healthy separation between them.

Elle seriously knocked it out of the park with this one and I am 100% not ready to leave my babies! The plot and ending kept me absolutely hooked the entire time and the spice was top tier! For my bully romance and why choose readers, this duo is 100% for you! I hope you enjoy this as much as I did because we are in the reading slump trenches! (In the best way obvi!)

Whew! This concluded to the West Pones Bullies duet was everything I had hoped it would be!

In book 1, Elias, Dax, and Nolan made Saige's life a living nightmare. It was a true bully romance where I was left wondering if 2 out of the 3 Mmc's could come back from the torment they caused. In book 2, Make It Stop, I was happy to see they had to work hard for it! Saige did not come to play around this time. The twists and turns throughout this book kept me second guessing everything I thought I knew but is a book duet I would definitely recommend and read again! Please make sure you check the trigger warnings because only you can protect your mental health.

Thank you so much for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book! This review is mine alone and voluntarily given.

I received an ARC from the author & this is my honest review ✨️📖

Wow! Just wow!
This duet was everything I wanted it to be. And book 2 wrapped everything up perfectly!
I love the characters and their dynamics/connections with each other. The perfect amount of angst, drama, and sexual tension. The chemistry between Saige and the guys is hot and spicy, and well written. The spice in this duet is top tier, in my opinion! Mmm, mmm! 🔥🔥🔥
The story/plot was good, too. The author has that writing style that blends spice and plot perfectly together!
Definitely check your triggers. This one deals with some dark subject matter. But I would 10/10 recommend this one to any and all avid dark romance readers!

The wait for this book nearly took me out but oh what sweet relief when I got to dive in! Make it Stop is the second book in the West Pine Bullies Duet. Elle wasted no time picking up right where she left us begging for more! Saige is still dealing with the deranged stalker all while trying to navigate Elias,Dax and Nolan and I love that this isn’t your typical love story! I was definitely team Nolan but after everything Elias did to prove his love for Saige I couldn’t help but love him in the end! If you’re looking for a dark why choose bully romance this is definitely the one! Elle thanks for getting me hooked I can’t wait to see what’s next!

I mean… holy hell. This duet is anxiety inducing, packed full of mystery, and it is so dang messy. I loved every second of it. I plowed through each book so quickly because I couldn’t put them down. Every person in this book has trauma of some degree and the one of the MMC’s may even be the reason for the FMC’s trauma🫣 DO NOT read this duet if dark romance is not your thing, or if a why-choose bothers you. Check your triggers. If you do love these things? Dive in, you will not regret it. Especially if you like when the boyfriends are also boyfriends🥵.

4⭐️ this duet was such a wild ride and just like book 1, it gagged me over and over again. I love how we jump right back in from where book one ended, and goodness gracious this was an emotional roller coaster with the way the plot went and the spice??? this was spicy af. The guys? Just as diabolical (if not a little more lol). But also i do like how the relationships progressed in this one especially between Saige & Nolan! I do wish we got just a little more grovel and more answers towards the end, but i was sat.

The emotional roller coaster Elle takes you on with these characters really makes you question your own sanity. The twists and turns, the psychological mind fuck, the emotional brutality is everything i love about her books. The closure i needed for these 4 and a love that only they will ever understand.

I really enjoyed being back in West Pine again but I will say I felt like the first half of this was just mostly filler. Once we got to the half way mark, it was intense so I think that really bumped it up from a 3.5 to a 4 star.

Ps. I know Elias had done some vile shit to Saige but the whole time I was like come onnnnnn Saige just love him. Very happy that twist didn’t end up twisting!

I’m gonna be honest here…I liked the first book A LOT better.

Dax: contradicting, alcohol dependent, I liked him one minute then hated him the next. He was alright but eh

Nolan: my sweet, traumatized baby. No bad notes on him. I just want to lay my head on his lap while he pets me. That’s all. 10/10 perfection

Saige 🙄: might as well put “welcome” on her forehead because she’s a doormat. She could have avoided so much by growing the tiniest bit of back bone. Whiny cry baby with no survival skills. I’m so tired of weak, whiny, fmcs. No wonder why I enjoy MM better.

Elias 😒😒: I low key wished he was the crazy k!ller/stalker because I wanted him to go away. I get degrading and humiliating but boy that’s enough. Grow up, get therapy, go away

Also we never figured out how the van got into Elias’s name. And why he ran from the cops. There’s so many unexplained things.

And yes I read the triggers. I have no triggers. But it gets to the point where it’s so repetitive that it’s annoying

I just idk I love Elle’s other books but this fell flat for me.

🦷🖤 Because it's exactly what I wanted--love with teeth ❤️‍🩹☠️

"I don't mind if I scare you, Saige. I scare myself sometimes. Just know that as long as you're mine, you don't have to be afraid of anything else. And you're always going to be mine."

"You're not hard to love, Saige. I love you so much, and it's the easiest thing I've ever done...so easy, I didn't even know I was doing it."

"I picked you. I decided you were mine that night, and I'm sorry you didn't really get a say in that, but that's just how it is now, isn't it? I think a part of you knows you've always been mine, even though you try to fight it. We're connected, you know?"

"I think he was right the first time, and what he feels for me is an obsession. A chaotic, unstable obsession that scares the s*** out of me."

"Bait my a**. She won't be going anywhere without me knowing about it. Isn't that romantic?"

"I just want to be with you. Is that so terrible? Does it make me sick and twisted like you said? Am I a monster, Saige?"
"Yes. But you're my monster."

"I circled her for long enough. I caught her; I claimed her. I made her mine. My obsession. My victim. My prey. Just mine."

"Because it's exactly what I wanted--love with teeth. And as addicted as I am to him, I know my monster is the one who's weak for me."

What a phenomenal ending to this duet. I loved everything about this duet, and it ended with a bang. The spice in this one is notched up even higher 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. The men are completely unhinged and psychotic (looking at you, Elias 👀😆). This was a hard, tough road to the HEA, but it was so satisfying when we got there. This second part of the story gave me so much anxiety and kept me wondering wtf is happening now 🤣. The plot was very suspenseful, and I was on the edge of my seat until the very end. This one also had me in my feels quite a bit. I loved that we delved deeper into these characters' back stories and trauma.

This story takes off right from the last one. Saige is in the hospital recovering from being attacked. Many people think it's Elias, but she doesn't. She only likes and wants to see Nolan. Dax takes this horribly and becomes a full-blown alcoholic. You see him at his worst. Elias continues to stalk and harass her. He refuses to let her go. The stalker is still on the loose. While Saige is trying to find herself and heal, her relationships with the men continue to spiral for the worst. Even Dax and Nolan start to have a divide. Can she trust these men again? Who is this stalker and what do they want with Saige? Can Elias really be trusted, or is he too far gone? All these answers will be revealed when more secrets start to unravel.

I loved how we got to see these characters suffer some more but eventually grow and heal from everything. There was so much trauma, secrets, and misunderstandings. They came out stronger in the end. My heart broke for all of them. I loved seeing Nolan be vulnerable with Saige and his scars 😭. I loved seeing Nolan's dark side too 🖤. I loved seeing Elias grow into himself more. His relationship with Saige was quite toxic but it worked for them and they grew into it more. Dax is the light and humor to this group. He took a dark turn but bounced back. Saige was really having a hard time accepting Elias given what he's done and also giving Dax another chance. She goes through the ringer in this book but damn is she a strong survivor. The spicy scenes melted my kindle and the group scenes holy moly 🥵🥵. The mouth on these men 🔥🔥🔥🔥. My heart hurt for Elias in this one as everyone was against that man. The best thing about this story was how her relationship with each man was so different. In the end she gained a best friend (Dax), her peace (Nolan), and her monster (Elias). I highly recommend this duet and anything by this author. I can't wait to see what this author does next! 🦷🥃🐠🏒🖤💔❤️‍🩹🦋

What a spicy conclusion to the West Pine Bullies duet! And I don’t mean a dash of spice. I mean Mitchell unloaded the full amount within the plot so you’ll be drenched in bodily fluids by the time you reach the climatic ending. Saige and her boys still remain one of my favorite relationships in how they personally connect emotionally with each other, in the bedroom and outside. A shocking conclusion that warps your mind and then unravels it by the end. A must-read duet of manipulation, obsession, and found family vibes that will have you hooked from the start.

*spoilers*
Saige has been ridiculed. A sensual video of herself in a vulnerable predicament was leaked by her own stepbrother, Elias. And the men she thought had feelings for her felt like more of a mistake. Especially after she was attacked by a masked man in an alleyway that knocked her unconscious and almost left for dead. Now, she doesn’t know who she can trust.

To make matters worse, Miles has returned, after they assumed he died during an altercation in the previous book. But he’s back and claiming that he doesn’t remember anything. And that his fiancé Isla is still missing. Nolan, Dax, and Elias don’t trust him but they also don’t have proof that he has been doing anything to torture Saige.

But the boys have bigger problems with Saige. Gaining her trust again. Because she doesn’t believe the words expelling from their mouths and it’s going to take a while. But someone is out there still targeting Saige. And through manipulation and deception, she may just point her finger towards someone that isn’t as innocent as they express themselves to be.

This is a wonderful conclusion. All answers are solved. Each character has their own unique path for their careers after they leave the university. But one thing that remains constant is the level of love and attraction they have for their Saige. Promising to protect her at all cost… even if it means giving up the things they love most for her. The character development in Elias and Dax grew stronger, as Eli was a truly hate character in book one. He gets sort of a redemption arc for himself here.

And the spice was bumped up a notch. There was so much going on. Holes being filled. Everyone was taken care of, but most importantly, Saige feels needed and loved by the end. Exactly what she has been wanting without feeling like she’s being pulled in two. A fxckin awesome duet to satisfy your why choose needs.

I was told the ending would be worth the pain. After MAKE IT HURT absolutely destroyed me, I went into this book fragile, skeptical… and honestly a little scared.
And somehow?
This book didn’t just deliver. It CONSUMED me.

Elle Mitchell has officially ruined me for every other stepbrother-bully-dark-why-choose romance because nothing—and I mean NOTHING—hits like this. This isn’t just dark romance. This is pitch-black, morally unhinged, psychologically addictive 𝖙𝖗𝖆𝖚𝖒𝖆𝖓𝖈𝖊 that gets under your skin and refuses to leave.

I didn’t read this book. I inhaled it. I sniffed it like the addictive drug it is!

The characters?
Uncomfortable. Obsessive. Messy. Human in the most terrifying and beautiful way.

𝓢𝓪𝓲𝓰𝓮
She isn’t your typical, perfect “strong FMC”; she’s raw, evolving, broken, and shaped by everything she’s been through in a way that feels painfully real. Watching her reclaim control (in her own way) was EVERYTHING!
𝓔𝓵𝓲𝓪𝓼
Elias is… unwell. Completely! And oh how I want to be his version of twisted sadistic psychopathy! But also he is self-aware in a way that makes him even more dangerous. His version of love? Twisted, obsessive, destructive and impossible to say no to.
𝓓𝓪𝔁
Dax broke me in a quieter way. The regret, the spiral, the “too late” realization? Yeah… that hurt. A lot. Miss Elle made me fall too deep for him and then snatched him right out of my arms and destroyed me completely in the last book, but all is forgiven because of the redemption I was so beautifully delivered in this one for Dax.
𝓝𝓸𝓵𝓪𝓷
Nolan feels like safety—but even that safety has edges. He’s steady, protective, and not as untouched by darkness as you’d hope, yet you can't help me fall for him and his obsessive toxic yet gentle love.

The relationships and dynamics between all of them?
Toxic, destructive and addictive to say the least!

This book doesn’t try to make things pretty or acceptable. It leans all the way into the chaos—the obsession, the power dynamics, the emotional damage—and somehow makes you FEEL EVERYTHING anyway.
It’s intense. It’s uncomfortable. It’s completely consuming!
And I’m OBSESSED!!!

- If you want something soft and healthy… THIS IS NOT IT!
However if you want something that will wreck you, haunt you, and live rent-free in your head…

READ THIS IMMEDIATELY!

You ruined me again Elle Mitchell, and I am forever addicted and forever a devote worshipper of your twisted, dark and unhinged books that give me solace!

I needed this book the second I finished Make It Hurt and it absolutely consumed me. I read it in one sitting and felt like I went through emotional whiplash in the best way possible. Part 2 felt deeper, heavier and so much more intense than the first book and I loved it.

Saige absolutely broke my heart. After everything she went through at the end of book one - the attack, the betrayal, the humiliation - she could have completely fallen apart. But she didn’t. She kept going. There was something so raw about her strength, especially when she was still hurting so deeply.

And Dax… I was furious with his at the start. I understood his pain, but the way he lashed out at her? It hurt to read. He didn’t just push her away. He burned her, literally and emotionally. But that’s what made his redemption hit so hard. When he softened again, when that golden retriever side came back out for Saige… it felt earned. And honestly, it made me love him even more.

Elias was chaos in human form. He was still completely unhinged, obsessive and yet terrifyingly devoted. But underneath all of that, there’s this broken little boy who never had a chance. Seeing those glimpses of softness from him, especially with Saige, made everything about him hit harder. His feelings for her became a lot less chaotic in this book as he accepted his love for Saige, which seemed to tame him (slightly).

My sweet Nolan… he might be the quietest, but he was the emotional anchor of this whole story. Even with everything going on in his own mind, the way he loved Saige was so steady, so selfless. He grounded her in a way no one else could, and I honestly adored him for it.

This book hurt. It twisted everything up inside me and made me angry and emotional, and then somehow put all the pieces back together again. The tension, the chaos and the love felt so intense and consuming in the best possible way.

And the spice? Completely unhinged (in the best way). The group dynamics took everything to another level. They were more connected, more emotional and even hotter because of it.

By the end, Saige, Elias, Dax and Nolan didn’t just feel like a relationship, they felt like a family. They were messy, broken and fiercely loyal and I loved them exactly as they were.

This is a bully series done well. Make It Hurt (MIH) was rather full on with some high stakes moments. The intensity was quickly wearing away at the rope of Saige's sanity. Elle is certainly the queen of emotional damage.

This will have even the most devout devourer of this genre questioning their own thoughts.
MIH ended on a cliffy and had me wary of what Make It Stop would bring.

There's a part of us that seeks redemption for characters affected by trauma - whether or not they're the makers or the victim. Events spiral so rapidly it leaves you wondering how much more could a person take? How could they be so full of hate, detachment etc. Elle allows us enough of a glimpse to spark glimmers of hope allowing us to better understand why Saige doesn't give up easily. And yes. Ok the girl finds it hard to say no to foreplay and the way it makes her compliant to the will of her men .. but damn she has stamina and perseverance . Both in and out of the bedroom, library or whereever else her voyeristic soul travels.

The character development of Saige and her Testosterone trio just blooms beautifully. Like a Rose growing from poop - The foundations were ugly but it didn't hinder the beauty and strength from shining through.
One character in particular does a gobsmacking 180. They are forced to face their demons and how this affects others and they manage to turn themselves around enough to be able to move forward for the betterment of not only themselves but of those around them.

So while this is a dark romance or even dark traumance type read, the ending will not leave you angry or hollow. Which is relieving news for those of us who need a bit of happiness to alleviate some of the darkness.

This duo is worth adding to your tbr if you're a fan of Leigh Rivers, Steph Macca or for setting your unhinged libido on fire 🔥

We jumped right in, the story starts a few weeks after the end of Make It Hurt. All these men are down bad for Saige and she doesn’t want anything to do with any of them well except Nolan. My sweet sweet misunderstood baby boy. Dax is going crazy and Elias is as unstable as he has always been but maybe amplified a bit. Saige is taking it one step at a time, her feelings are all over the place. Honey someone has popped up and I feel like I knew he was still there. My feelings towards Elias are starting to change. I think I like him now and that’s my business lol. My girl Saige has been through it and she just needs a break. She needs some happy. Elias is making me giggle he is going about things the wrong way, which is the Elias way. Nolan and Dax are safety and I’m so happy Saige has them. The spicy in this book was delicious I’m speechless. They are all that good kind of nasty. We’re just getting along and watching the progressions of Saige’s relationship with the boys but I feel like I’m being lured into a false sense of safety. I know Elle is about to do something to pull the rug from under me, but I don’t know what. I’m feeling really manipudipped right now, my head is all over the place trying to find out what is going on. I’m on a roller coaster. Elle had me feeling real delulu for a minute but I’m back. The ending of the books was crazy, my emotions were all over the place. I was shocked, I was sad, I was giggling all the things. As much as I want to tell you what happened I can’t you have read it. This was easily a six star read. Our favs got their happily ever after but baby did they have to work for it. This story had trauma, messiness, craziness but it also had healing, love and happiness. I’m so sad it’s over but I’m so grateful I got to read it. Thank you Elle.

Umm... well now..

Okay...
Now that was a mind flux.
Elle must have taken some psychology classes, because these characters are all crazy and that doesnt change. They dont come to terms, see reason, get better.
Saige should really think about her situation and compare it to poor Islas.
I mean, shes a psychology major, she should know.... right?
There was so much... romance... but the plot was great and it kinda flew by. It did seem to tie up in a neat little bow at the end, but it was still good.
I cant decide who's the worst of the guys to be honest.
Dax is a crazy manipulative in your face type of person. He can twist anything to make you confused and agree with him..
And that never really changed..
Elias on the other hand, he actually got better once Saige finally started opening up to him..even if she was doing it terrified at the beginning. Sadist aside, he didn't catch her bag on fire... twice. And was the only one who really excused his behavior in a way that, as a book character, youre like, yeah, sure, okay. Lol.
Dax.... did nothing. His manipulative apology i definitely felt, but... yeah.. I donno..
Ive never had this type of ecky love/hate with the Male characters before. Lol. And I've read so, so many. Lol.
Nolan... oh hes just a teddy bear. I honestly dont see a thing wrong with him as a book character boyfriend. Lol. Even though I do believe he's the most likely to become a serial killer. 😆
Still, still...
All of thes characters went so well together. If it wasnt for the showing their feelings through saving and staying and protecting... you'd think they were pulling one over on Saige.
Honestly. Its gonna take me longer to accept it, unlike her. Lol.
It was nitty and gritty and crazy and I would definitely recommend this author for anyone who knows their triggers and can handle the spice.

First of all, thank you so much again, Elle, for the ARC opportunity! 💛 I loved every single minute of this book!

I have to say, I enjoyed this installment much more than the first one. (Elias seriously drove me crazy there haha) But this one was also an intense emotional rollercoaster.

Somehow, these characters grew on me without me even noticing. One moment I was just reading, and the next I was ready to break Miles’s nose, cry alongside Saige, and fight anyone who dared to say a single bad word about her.👊

The story picks up right where the first book left off, and even though we got a perfect ending, I honestly could have stayed with these characters so much longer.🥺

Dax and Nolan are still my absolute favorites 🥹 while Elias… well, let’s just say I’m willing to forgive him (to some extent 😏).

𝕭𝖊𝖈𝖆𝖚𝖘𝖊 𝕴'𝖒 𝖍𝖎𝖘 𝖔𝖇𝖘𝖊𝖘𝖘𝖎𝖔𝖓, 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝖍𝖊'𝖘 𝖒𝖞 𝖒𝖔𝖓𝖘𝖙𝖊𝖗.

I did NOT see that plot twist coming at all. 🤯 I was just as shocked as Saige when everything was revealed. Elle paced the story so well that I simply couldn’t put the book down — the events kept unfolding rapidly while I was basically drowning in emotions right alongside the characters.

"ʏᴇᴀʜ, ʏᴏᴜ ᴄᴀɴ ᴘᴜᴛ ᴏɴ ᴡʜᴀᴛᴇᴠᴇʀ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴀɴᴛ. ɪ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ʟᴇᴀᴋᴇᴅ ɢᴏᴅꜱ ᴏꜰ ᴛᴏᴍᴏʀʀᴏᴡ ꜱᴏɴɢꜱ." (SCREEAMING)

And the spicy scenes? Let’s just say… wow. 🔥 Elle really went all in and made the most out of every moment with these boys — if you know, you know 😏

If you’re looking for a fast-paced, emotional, spicy bully dark romance where there’s never a dull moment, this book is 1100% for you!❤️‍🔥

Honestly, anything written by Elle is a safe choice — you just can’t go wrong.

I can’t wait for the next ride! 🔥

ARC REVIEW

Make it Stop by @ellemitchellbooks

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Thank you such much for the ARC @ellemitchellbooks - i was completely 100% obsessed from start to finish. I hold you entirely responsible for my lack of sleep 🤪

Everyone who read Make it Hurt was consumed by the story of Elias, Dax, Nolan and Saige and I am here to tell you, that feeling will absolutely continue through Make It Stop too. @ellemitchellbooks has managed to maintain all@the same vibes from start to finish in this duet.

A taboo relationship between step siblings ✔️, absolute hatred between some of the characters ✔️, stalking; obsessive and possessive vibes ✔️ and characters still utterly damaged by their trauma ✔️. Oh and add in a plot where you are never quite sure what’s happening next and how far the characters are willing to go; what’s not to love. It’s dark, there is less bully themes here as the relationships have developed on from there but all the trauma, baggage and emotion is still there.

There is so much to love in this story; Elias your behaviour is not ok and your red flags are so obvious so why on earth do I kind of find you sweet? And the relationship between Dax and Nolan was 👌- I would have loved more of them together because there are some moments that are cute in a funny kind of way. Saige’s resilience is so high - I mean who doesn’t love a FMC who keeps the tooth she had knocked out.

You are going to want to check your triggers - there are a fair few here but if you’re comfortable with them; go for it. You won’t regret it.
