Valleigh Andover I seriously thought I was the problem. All I ever wanted was to fall in love with a man then start a family with him, living happily ever after in a little bubble of our own making until our last breaths. But I was just a girl after all, who had to learn the painfully hard way that just because you want something won’t make it so. I was not looking to be swept off my feet when I placed the call that changed everything, nor could I have prepared myself for the whirlwind of emotions I felt the second I laid eyes on him. Who cares if he’s a superstar known for his toxic lover boy lyrics because I can resist his charming nature, right?
Symphony ‘Sym’ Sinclaire I couldn’t tell you exactly what it was, but I knew something was missing from my life. I’d reached the point where the fame, money, and women no longer appealed to me. So, when I got the call I’d been waiting years for, I took it as a sign and opportunity to escape the cameras. What I found in my hometown was more than I felt ready for, until I heard her name by a twisted stroke of fate. I walked straight into her classroom, and just that easily what I thought was dead and gone slammed into me with a truth I couldn’t ignore—she was mine. I didn’t know if it was delusion or the voice of God that made me pursue her, but when it spoke, I moved, because my days of surviving without her were over. I needed her, and I wasn’t afraid to let it be known.
This was a flirty and light read that can serve as a palate cleanser. Sym & the immediate soft spot he had for his “Doodle bug” was too cute. It’s supposed to be a second chance-ish romance, but I wish we saw Leigh and Sym when they were younger. Even a quick flashback would’ve helped to sell their history because their reunion felt like it skipped a step. There’s no drama between the couple and it’s generally low angst. The story is short and you can feel it, as a few plot points get mentioned but then skimmed over.
Enjoyed the read! Loved the characters of Sym and Leigh. When you know, you know and Symphony knew who he was destined to be with. Neither of them had ever gotten over the friendship and love that they once shared.
Mental illness is real. I was so glad that Sym was there to help get his brother, Rhap, the needed medical diagnosis, therapy, and medication for his illness. Sym knew something was wrong early on and made the decision to move forward getting help for his brother.
He didn't hesitate to step up early on to look after his niece, Iylah, who was being neglected, but not on purpose before his brother was ever diagnosed. Sym had been separated from his brother for eleven yrs. and just finding him and finding out he had a niece. He chose to take on guardianship, because putting his niece in the system wasn't an option.
Great conclusion to the story! Sym made the decision to take care of his family, as his number 1 priority. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Symphony is in the music industry, and after some time, he has located his brother. This takes him back to his hometown. When he visits his brother, he learns he has a niece. But, he is also aware that his brother doesn't seem right.
During his visit, he picks up his niece from school and meets a person from his past.
Valleigh is a teacher, and one of her students seems to be forgotten past school hours. When her uncle arrives, she is brought face to face with her past. She hopes he doesn't recognize her, but she isn't so lucky.
Symphony and Valleigh are reunited. But during this journey, Symphony has to address his brothers' and nieces needs.
I feel like it is a good story, but missing some background info. This is my first read for this author, so I am not very familiar with her style yet.
A beautiful second-chance romance for Valleigh and Symphony. They were inseparable as kids, but life’s challenges pulled them apart. Fate brought them back together through the very thing that once separated them—just in a different way.
Symphony suddenly had to step up as guardian to a 4-year-old niece with no experience, and Valleigh, her teacher, agreed to help him navigate it all. Their reunion quickly turned into something deeper, rekindling a love they both realized never truly faded. 💫
Valleigh proved to be Symphony’s rock during his time of need, just as she was in their younger years. Despite Symphony’s fame as an entertainer, he felt safe being his true self with her. ❤️
Overall, this was a heartwarming story about love, growth, and finding your way back to the one who always had your heart. 🥹💕
Symphony didnt play about Squirt & his Doodle Bop! He came in giving BDE energy👀 but whole time this man was soft for his girl 😭. The character growth?? Chef’s kiss. Because when it was time to stand up for Valleigh, he did NOT hesitate.
And Valleigh… baby she deserved that love. Watching her finally get the happiness she was missing had me smiling like I knew these people in real life.
This book had me laughing one minute and in my feelings the next. Faith J knows how to write a love story that pulls you in and keeps you there.
If you like sweet, funny, emotional romances with a man that’s gone apply pressure for his woman… add this to your TBR immediately.
Sym had been in search for his older brother for a number of years. His search leads him back to his hometown where he finds not only his brother but also a niece he never knew he had as well as his childhood girlfriend, Valleigh. Sym and Valleigh reuniting was just what they needed. Even though Sym was surrounded by people most of the time, it was lonely for him. Valleigh ended up taking that loneliness away from him. I loved how Sym realized what was going on with his brother and niece and took care of things for them. Sym also pursued Valleigh and showed her that the love he had for her was real. I love second chance books, and this one was done right. The connection between Sym and Valleigh made this book such an enjoyable experience.
I truly enjoyed this story. It was endearing, sweet, light, flirty, and funny. Faith wrapped all of those things up into making a beautiful second chance love story. Though Sym’s persona gave off bad boy he was loving and gentle with those around him. Valleigh was the sweet, patient, fun loving teacher that didn’t realize she’d been missing out on the life and love she deserved until it presented itself to her in the form of Sym and his family. He applied pressure and didn’t let up until she saw he was not what she thought and he meant well and had the best intentions when it came to their hearts and this second chance. It was perfect 10/10
One thing Ms Faith is going to do is write the hell out of a love story. I was excited to read this book when she started the teasers and it definitely lived up to the hype. These characters have you laughing one minute and crying the next….and Squirt knew she was THAT GURL! Argue with your momma🤭. The growth of Symphony was amazing to watch, he stood up for his Doodle Bug without any hesitation. Fantastic work friend!
Symphony calls saved more than just his peace but his brother and niece as well.
I was not expecting an emotional read but that is definitely what I received. The hard truth of an illness that goes untreated can be the turning point of so much. Without Valleigh giving grace little Iylah would have been in the wind before Sym showed up.
Be ready for some emotional time with laughter and love.
I love me a second chance romance. I’m so glad symphony went back to his hometown and found iyla and his brother. I’m so happy he was every thing for iyla and i was so happy he got his brother all the help he need. I loveee that he found valleigh again as well. I don’t like how his mama don’t take his brother to and get him the help he would need.
Omg this was the cutest! I loved Sym and his delusional love. Leigh tried to play it off, but she was just as bad. My heart goes out to Rhapsody. It seems like it was one thing after the other, but I was happy there was enough HEA to go around for everyone! MORE LIKE THIS PLEASE!!!🙏
Faith J is really out here making me fall in love with fictional men because why do I love Symphony this much😭 I loved this book DOWN. The way he rides for his family and loves Valleigh so deeply had my heart the entire time. And that proposal 🥹 I was boo-hoo crying like it was my own man proposing to me 😭. Yeah this book did what needed to be done. Easy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5.
Fate brought Valleigh back into Symphony’s life and he wasn’t letting up. This was such a cute, low drama romance. I loved how Valleigh was a safe space for Symphony and their puppy love became so much more.
Cute story overall!! I loved how the author did not shy away from touching on mental illness. Leigh and Symphony were so cute together! Doodle Bop was oh so sweet! I was so happy to see Raph was able to face his illness and keep a relationship with his daughter!!
It was cuteeee. Uncle stepped right in for his girl. Had a hard time getting past him saying Valleigh was his first love then just random met the character in the book.
