'Prolific' is part philosophy and part how-to. Having read Ginsberg's blog regularly since 2010 I was familiar with many of the ideas. But having them all assembled into a 'how-to' book for an artist was valuable. If you're a writer, speaker, photographer, videographer, or any freelancer who fancies himself an artist then this is a book for you.
Prolific is a blueprint for a creator to become prolific in creating their art - lots of it - a lifetime of art!.
The book broken into three parts: Inspiration; Organization; and Executiont I appreciate that the author regularly give examples of 'how' while leaving open the possibility for individualism. Multiple times I found myself saying, "I have to adopt this idea into my own creative process.
Pressfield's 'The War of Art' gave a 10,000 foot view of what it means to be an artist ... Ginsberg's 'Prolific' takes those same ideas down to ground level. If you're serious about spending the rest of your life creating, then you want read this book.
I'm a longtime fan and fanatic of "The Name Tagged One" and frequent-asker of questions regarding the author's ability to generate the massive amounts of (QUALITY and ENGAGING) content in so many different formats (text, song, film, art, etc.)
Scott has always been generous in sharing glimpses of his creative process (have you seen the videos in his YouTube channel that demonstrate his writing process via time-lapse video?), but for the first time ever he's turned his critical eye on himself and his content creation process to map it out into layered lessons so the rest of us mere mortals can follow along.
Scott's insights begin on the very first page and pull you through section after section; building ideas upon ideas and actions upon actions -- increasing the reader's ability and understanding in order to foster their own personal prolificacy.
