When a news report shows the face of a woman she watched die, Becky realises the murders are real. And fears she’s been witnessing them through someone else’s eyes.
Or worse — she’s reliving repressed memories of crimes she herself has committed.
In desperation, Becky turns to the police, who initially dismiss her as a fraud. Until Detective Susan Reeves discovers Becky’s descriptions match active crime scenes with chilling precision.
Does Becky share a connection with a serial killer?
And if she can see through their eyes… can they see through hers?
Whatever is happening to her, she can’t look away.
I came across this book as a suggestion from the author in the Psychological Thrillers Readers group on Facebook. The premise sounded fascinating so I decided to give it a go. I have not read books from a self published author previously so was uncertain what to expect. If there are any publishers looking into this book…you need to reach out to this author! His work deserves to be widely published immediately. Visions is a beautifully written thriller that earned a 5 star rating from me, alongside the likes of John Marrs and Jennifer Hillier. Visions is a thriller with a “supernatural” component, my personal favorite. The story follows Becca, who is having visions of murder. Susan, the detective who has interestingly enough not lost her compassion in a world of darkness. These characters are developed so well and at times I felt like I was a kindred soul, only to the next moment be hit with WTF are you doing? Compelling characters to be certain. The pace was perfection and the author swings effortlessly between short sentences and longer, more descriptive paragraphs. This creates a pacing that lends to the story and keeps the reader involved and curious. If I am completely honest, I personally figured out where the story was going, but that is not to say that the twists are not exceptional, they are creative and well constructed. I just challenge myself to think ahead too much when I am reading. I love to play the “detective” not just read about them. This book is perfection for a reader like me. I recommend this book for anyone looking for a well written, fast paced and compelling thriller from a bright and rising star author.

REVIEW :
New author for me and I tried a sample of this book (Visions ‘26) since the author listed on Facebook’s Psychological Thriller Readers Group and he also mentioned this group in the actual acknowledgements in the book itself. I loved the sample and bought the Kindle book for $6.99
Definitely gruesome murder to start this tale but the main character’s hallucinations/dreams really are creeping me out. I had to read on after the sample; couldn’t stop myself. Great beginning of a serial killer story blended with a woman seeing the murders in real time. The tension and excitement never let up; lasted thru the entire book. I loved how the history of the murder victims were revealed. Really loved Becky and felt deeply for her and her position. I was always interested when the tale came back to Detective Susan Reeves and where she would go next in the investigation. Definitely a 5-star read for me to the very end ! I think this would make an awesome movie!
GREAT NEW AUTHOR FOR ME ! I will be following you and looking forward to your next book. I’ve already put Minds (‘25) and She’s Not the Only One (‘25) on my price watch list.
At first, reading through short synopsis, I thought this book sounded too much like The Eyes of Laura Mars but it's so much better, and original. Rob's fabulous descriptions bring the story to life plus the story is edge of the seat stuff as the tension builds. It is certainly a book you can't put down as I was dying to know what was going to happen next with each turn of the page.
I like the characters' thoughts set in Italics.
Yes, I really enjoyed the book and I recommend it. I think I will get Minds next.
Visions by Rob Delplanque. Just wow! This Psychological thriller had me cranking through the pages. From the beginning it kept me guessing, scratching my head and more than a couple of times had me saying WTF?! You think you have it figured out and then, nope, plot twist! I read this book cover to cover today, the writing is just that great! 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, buckle up, you’re in for a ride! Another win for Rob Delplanque - Author!
WTF did I just read? This book was everything I could ever ask for in psychological thriller! It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time, I didn't want to put it down until I finished it. I thought I had it figured out after the first few chapters but I was way off! I would have never thought, but so crazy!!! Definitely recommending to others!!!
Absolute Page Turner - I didn’t see the plot coming and kept wanting to read it until I find out want happened! Kept me guessing - I really enjoy this Authors books. highly recommend if you’re into psychological thrillers! Oh and how awesome to have Detective Susan Reeves back again - Rob you have to keep her going in your future books!!
"I almost wish I didn't have this instinct. It's a dark place in this brain at times, delving into the mentality of psychopaths."
"This was personal."
Becky is seeing the unthinkable, not through her eyes but someone else's perspective. Or is Becky going through a psychotic break? Did Becky commit acts of crime with no recollection? Maybe it's just all a nightmare feeling so real through the thick of it all.
Detective Susan Reeves assigned to these grizzly and grotesque cases is met with Becky. The police immediately turn her away claiming she is scamming and stating is all a lie. Susan realizes everything Becky is perceiving lines up parallel to the various murders and the sadistic crime scenes.
There is endless commotion, tension and so much character depth throughout this book. As you're trying to piece together Beckys Visions with what Detective Susan Reeves finds. It's an endless wild goose chase to stop the killer before it's too late. Hearing Beckys inner thoughts that were panick stricken, fearful, confusion and unsettling anxiety was a nonstop roller coaster ride. It turned into a chaotic and emotional family affair where trust was questioned and determining what's a lie and what's the truth. This book kept me on my toes, my adrenaline was pumping all the way through, my mind was racing in every direction trying to figure out what was going on to then be thrown another twist. I truly couldn't get enough of this book, it was too good to put down! Rob did an incredible job with the layers of twists, the complexity of the characters that were intertwined with a mind blowing ending that made your jaw drop.
