Leon Moretti lost his wife. For anyone else, that kind of event would be a devastating reality that sets their life back. As the Underboss of The Outfit, he has no time for grief. He shared no love with the woman he spent years with, but they have two children together that he loves more than anything else in the world.

Taking care of his sons is a task he takes seriously. Not only is it his wife’s dying wish to make sure their children grow up with two loving parents, Leon knows it’s his duty as a father to provide his boys with a mother figure. Even if it means searching the surrounding mafia families for the perfect fit to slip into their lives.

Katya Lukáčová has a complex history of mafia associations. The daughter of a Slovakian syndicate now the stepdaughter to The Ruler of The Gods, a powerful Greek organization. So, of course she’s heard of the infamous Moretti family, but marrying one of them had never been an aspiration of hers.

Scoring a Moretti husband is, however, her best friend’s newest goal. Katya’s ambitious friend doesn’t care that Leon is a widowed man who has two children relying on him, only that he’s the third highest ranking member of his family who will need a new wife. Despite feeling uneasy about her friend’s motivations, Katya is dragged along to support her in meeting a man that every mafia princess would want.

Nothing goes remotely to plan when both girls are struck with the reality that Leon knows exactly what he’s looking for in his new wife. And Katya ticks every single box.

This is a single dad, mafia romance.

This book dropped on my kindle at 1:39am and I dove right in. Since we were introduced to Leon Moretti I desperately wanted his story, but I knew this would come late in the series as it needed to be handled with care and our author certainly delivered on this.

Leon Moretti is the underboss of the Moretti family and if you have been following in the series you will know that he entered an arranged marriage with Cleo and this marriage was distant and loveless. The only interaction that husband and wife would have would be because of their children, Bastian and Leo, whom the pair absolutely adored. When I started the series I felt a lot of resentment towards Cleo as it was quite obvious that Leon wanted to make things work with his wife but the author did a brilliant job of giving us an insight as to why Cleo kept her distance from her husband.

Cleo was diagnosed with Huntington’s Disease and she knew her time was limited, rather than cause Leon the pain of losing her she decided to remain on the outside and hide her diagnosis until she ran out of time. My kindle was full of tears in the early chapters of this book and my heart broke for Cleo, as rather than live out the remainder of the time she had left on this earth traveling and seeing the world her parents cornered her into an arranged marriage to boost their status. While Cleo doesn’t regret the marriage as it brought her two beautiful children she loved deeply she also feared of passing on the gene, which thankfully did not come to pass.

In her final days Cleo made Leon promise that he would remarry and the purpose of this would be to give her children a mother’s love in her absence. I also believed that she wanted Leon to be happy as she knew this marriage would evolve into something more where hers did not but she wanted him to choose a woman that would love and put her children first prior to any romance forming. Ever so respectful Leon he kept his promise and this is where Katya comes in.

Katya is the step daughter of Linus and step brother of Ares (who made an appearance in Jades book). Katya was such a beautiful presence in this book. She didn’t have a bad bone in her body and she had so much care and understanding for the people surrounding her. When her mother remarried after the loss of her father and had another child she embraced the big sister role. At only 7 years old Gaia, her little sister, was a spitfire and I loved seeing her interactions with Katya.

When Dante Moretti sends and invite to her family about being considered for Leon’s new wife she was hesitant and the reason being she felt so much empathy to a man who had just recently lost his wife and also the two little boys who were grieving their mother. Katya visited Leon’s home with no intentions of becoming his wife but when the two little boys gravitated toward her, her mother instincts instantly kicked in. Katya always wanted to be a mother but she didn’t think it would happen sooner than expected.

What I loved about this book was that Bastian and Leo were always the priority. Leon knew from the second he laid eyes on Katya that she would be a woman he would fall for but he wanted to prioritise her relationship with his children first and leon seeing this relationship blossom firsthand was something that made him fall for her even more. While Katya may have stepped into the mother role she makes it known to both Bastian and Leo that she is a safe place to speak about Cleo whenever they may wish and I was sobbing. Single dad and marriage of convenience are two of my favourite tropes but the family this author built on page was absolutely beautiful. As we dove deeper into the book we notice that Katya has similar experiences to Leo and Bastian in which she too lost a parent quite young.

Leon entering his romantic era was absolutely swoon worthy. While he was previously married he never had the opportunity to woo his wife but he certainly didn’t miss out on the opportunity when it came to Katya. He wanted to pair to get to know and explore what they had together and did this by not only by planning multiple date nights but also spoiling his wife with whatever she desired.

Honestly this author couldn’t have picked a perfect FMC for Leon and I am finally glad that he has his happiness. I fear this may be my favourite book in the Moretti series but Daddy Dante is next and knowing our author she definitely has a savage tale in store.

Overall I absolutely loved this book, the Moretti family holds a special place in my heart and again I will ask what’s a gal got to do to find herself in this world?? Thank you so much to the author who provided this e-arc for my honest thoughts 💭

I did not want this book to end, I could have read another 500 pages of their day to day life that’s how obsessed with them I am! Leon & Katya’s relationship started because of something tragic but bloomed into such a beautiful love! I adored the family they become and the relationship that developed between them all! Leon deserved an epic love after Cleo, who I do not blame at all and I was heartbroken for her! Katya was perfect for him and the boys! The kids made the entire book, they were gorgeous and hilarious and Gaia stole every scene she was in! The boys were just the sweetest and I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to them! This book was just so heartwarming for me as someone who has read each book as they came out, I feel such an attachment to them all!! Amazing book in the Moretti series and as always I’m so excited for the next one!

This has been the first book I’ve finished in a couple of months and it was great. Very big fan of the series and I really can’t get enough of this family.

I was really interested on how Leon’s story was going to play out and it did not disappoint. Kat was such good addition and I really liked them together. Both Bastian and Leo were so adorable I couldn’t get enough.

I also can’t wait for Dante’s book and who the FMC is going to be. Is about time he find someone. Also I think I’ve asked this in almost all my reviews but PLEASE PLEASE I need Colton and Nico’s book and or Armani’s!!!!!

ARC review:
AHHH My familyyyyy. I loved this book so much, this whole series really takes the found family to another level and I love it so much.
I’ve been curious about Leon since Savage Empire and I’m not disappointed. Recently widowed from a loveless marriage and now a single dad to two (adorable) kids, he had to find a new wife to be a mother figure for his boys (and who knows, have a marriage that actually works). That’s how we meet Katya, she’s so sweet and caring and immediately stepped up to be the mother Bastian and Leo needed.
Their romance felt so natural and so comforting, but to me the stars of the story really were the kids.
Leo and Bastian were the cutest kids ever and they deserve everything good, so I’m glad they got to have a happy family (with a little new addition 🐶).
I really enjoyed and recommend not only this book but the whole series, and I’m so excited for the books yet to come (cough cough Colton/Nico), Dante is up next and I’m SO curious and anxiously waiting for it.

Just when I think I can’t love the Morettis anymore a new book comes out and reminds me that I can. To have such a big cast of characters and make you obsessed with every single one is true talent.

Now onto this specific Moretti *sigh* Leon the man you are. I loved seeing the relationship grow between him and Katya and the adorable relationship they had with the kids. Leo and Bastian were such good characters and I loved the dynamic they brought to the story!

I love K L Manns ability to create these epic romances while still tackling serious issues. Cleo’s story was heartbreaking and complicated, I’m glad we got the chance to see part of her story.

I cannot recommend this book enough aswell as the other Moretti books in the series and I already can’t wait for the next!

Another wonderful book by Kassie! I honestly had no idea what to expect coming in because of Cleo and her story, but it was executed wonderfully and I definitely feel like I understand her more. I also LOVED the kids and especially their relationship that grew with Katya. She was the perfect choice for Leon and I was so happy to see that play out. Also, of course, I absolutely loved all the other characters from the family showing up and getting to see bits of them! I am so happy with how Leon and Katya’s story concluded and how she healed their little family.

I went into Leon’s story knowing there would be a lot of complicated emotions surrounding Cleo, so I genuinely wasn’t sure what to expect. Somehow, Kassie managed to take all of those feelings and turn them into a story that felt incredibly warm, emotional, and completely unforgettable. 🥹❤️

I absolutely adored Leon and Katya. Their relationship may have started from heartbreaking circumstances, but watching it slowly turn into something so genuine and beautiful was one of my favorite parts of the book. Leon has always deserved to be loved in a way that makes him feel completely cherished, and seeing Katya give him that while also loving Leo and Bastian wholeheartedly was everything. 🥹🤍 She didn’t just become Leon’s wife; she became the missing piece of their little family.

And the boys!!! Leo and Bastian completely stole my heart. 😭💕 Their personalities were so different, with Leo being confident and wonderfully outspoken while Bastian was much quieter and bashful, but both were absolute sweethearts. I loved watching Katya build a relationship with each of them and seeing how naturally she became someone they could trust and love. The way she fell for those boys so quickly and completely had me melting. 🥹

Chapter 46 absolutely destroyed me because of what happened with Bastian. 😭💔 I wanted nothing more than to reach through the pages and hug him. Those boys were honestly one of the biggest reasons I couldn't put this book down. I wasn't ready to say goodbye to them at all!

And Gaia?! 😂💗 Every time she appeared, she managed to steal the entire scene. She was absolutely precious, and I could have happily stayed in this book for so much longer just watching this little family live their everyday lives. Their conversations, family moments, chaos, and all the little things between them were some of my favorite parts. 🥹

One thing I particularly loved was getting to see Leon as a full-time dad. We've seen the Moretti men start families in their own stories, but getting to watch Leon actually navigate fatherhood day by day was something completely different. He is such a devoted father, and seeing how much he wanted his boys to be happy made my heart ache in the best possible way. 🥹❤️

It also made his relationship with Katya even more meaningful because she didn't simply fall for Leon—she fell for his entire world. She loved his children, cared about their happiness, and became such an important part of their lives. Leon finally found someone who loved him just as deeply as he loved everyone around him, and that was everything I wanted for him. 🥹🫶🏻

Cleo's storyline was incredibly heartbreaking. 💔 I really appreciated being given more insight into her perspective because it helped me understand her choices and the circumstances surrounding everything. Understanding doesn't necessarily mean I could forgive everything, but I was glad we got to see more of her story and understand her on a deeper level. I also couldn't help thinking about how, if circumstances had been different, Leon would have been an amazing husband to Cleo too. That whole situation was just heartbreaking. 😭

Kassie has such a special ability to create these huge, emotional romances while still tackling serious and complicated subjects. Nothing ever feels completely black and white, and I love that about her writing. ❤️

I also really loved how different the dynamic of this book felt compared to the others. Leon and Katya actually had time to establish their routines and figure out how to make this new family work for Leo and Bastian. Their relationship wasn't rushed, and we got to experience them becoming a family rather than simply being told that they were one. 🥹🏡❤️

Of course, we still got plenty of the Morettis because let's be honest, they are apparently incapable of staying away from each other. 😂 The family has a talent for appearing out of nowhere, and I loved every second of it. Getting to see the children, the brothers, the wives, and all the different relationships continuing to grow was such a huge part of why I love this series so much. 🥰

I especially loved seeing the friendships developing between the wives and watching everyone come together. After reading every Moretti book as they've come out, I've become so attached to this entire family. At this point, I'm not just invested in individual romances—I genuinely care about every single character. That's such a difficult thing to accomplish with such a huge cast, and Kassie does it beautifully. ❤️

Ares also caught me completely off guard. 😂 His antics had me laughing, but they also made me suspicious because I NEED TO KNOW WHAT THAT MAN IS UP TO. 👀 I spent so much time looking for little clues about what might be happening behind the scenes and trying to figure out what Kassie could possibly have planned next.

And now we have Dante’s book next, and I am SO ready!!! 😭🔥 I already know I'm going to be completely consumed by his story. After everything we've seen throughout the series, I genuinely cannot wait to see where Kassie takes him. And after that ending, I am already desperately wondering who will be next. 👀

This book honestly took me by surprise in the best possible way. I wasn't sure how I would feel going into Leon's story because of everything surrounding Cleo, but Kassie handled it so beautifully. Leon and Katya's relationship felt earned, the boys were absolute angels, the family moments were everything, and the emotional depth made the story so much more meaningful. 🥹❤️

Most of all, I simply did not want this book to end. I became so attached to Leon, Katya, Leo, and Bastian that saying goodbye to them was genuinely difficult. 😭💕 I could have kept reading about their life, their family moments, and all the little everyday interactions for so much longer.

Just when I think I couldn't possibly love the Morettis any more, another book comes along and proves me completely wrong. 🥹❤️ This series has become one of those worlds where I feel genuinely attached to the characters, and every new release feels like coming back to a family I've grown to love.

Leon deserved his epic love story. Katya was exactly what he and the boys needed. Leo and Bastian completely owned my heart. Gaia stole every scene. Cleo broke my heart. Ares has me suspicious. And Dante’s book has me counting down already.😭❤️‍🔥

Kassie, you really did it again. Another beautiful Moretti story, another emotional rollercoaster, and another book that has left me desperate for the next one. 🥹📖❤️

Easily one of my favorites in the series so far. Five stars don't even feel like enough. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Reseña Ingles/Español

Okay, I just finished this a few hours ago and I honestly don’t even know how to start this review.....

I knew I was going to love this book more than all the others. The fact that it has all the tropes I absolutely LOVE in a book was definitely a sign for me, but I never imagined that out of the 5 books, this one would become my favorite.

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

How could I not love this book when Leon is everything that’s RIGHT in a MAN? He is a walking Green Flag. I absolutely LOVE how emotionally responsible he is, how he ALWAYS uses COMMUNICATION to solve any problem, and how he is always aware and clear about his feelings.

Katya is without a doubt everything Leon has ever wanted in a partner. She’s so kind, understanding, empathetic, loving, and above all, she loves his children the way a mother would. I absolutely adored this woman, seriously. She was exactly what this family needed. 🥹

Their relationship was always meant to be.💫
They complemented each other so well and understood each other perfectly. What made their relationship work was that, from the very beginning, they were both aware of why they were getting married and what future they envisioned for their marriage. The communication between them when it came to understanding their feelings instead of simply assuming things was 🤌🏼 I LOVE their relationship so much, and without a doubt, they’re going straight into my TOP 1 favorite couples. 🩷

Something else I particularly loved about this book, and about Katya, is that she isn’t the typical FMC we see in so many books, where they feel uncomfortable using their husband’s money or get awkward when they’re given a card or the freedom to spend -even though it’s obvious they have access to all that money- I don’t know why, but this is something I’ve always appreciated in books (and I could probably count on one hand the number of FMCs who are like Katya) a woman who doesn’t hold herself back in that aspect when she has money to spare. We’re so used to reading about protagonists who hold back either because they feel uncomfortable or because they simply don’t like spending their husband’s money, so I absolutely CELEBRATE when I find someone like Katya HAHAHAHA.

Overall, all I can say about this book is that I LOVED IT SO MUCH. It’s been months since I’ve read a book that captivated me this much to the point where I finished it in just 2 days. Would I read it again? HELL YESSS!!!!

Would I recommend it? OF COURSE I WOULD.

Thank you so much, Kassie, for considering me to receive an ARC and for giving me the opportunity to share an honest review of this book. 🫶🏻

————————————————————————

Newly widowed after years in a loveless marriage, Leon begins looking for a new wife when he meets Katya, a young woman who is more than willing to give Leon and his children all the love they've been missing. As they settle into their new lives together, they slowly learn how to become a family while Leon and Katya build a deep connection neither of them expected.

Oh my gosh, this book!!! Leon’s story has intrigued me since Hidden Empire so to finally be able to get into it, I WAS DYINGGGG. And boy, the two and a half year wait was absolutely worth it.

“I’m in awe of you.”

It started off so heavy and emotional because of everything that happens in the beginning, so I genuinely wasn't prepared for how incredibly endearing and healing the rest of the story would be. Watching this little family slowly come together was just SO darn precious and you could genuinely feel the intensity of the love growing between Leon and Katya with every chapter.

Katya had me from the very beginning, like legit page 1 of her chapter. I fell in love with her almost immediately because she led with so much empathy and kindness. She was this incredibly emotionally intelligent, warm girl with a heart of gold and just seemed to understand what this family needed without ever forcing herself into their lives. Honestly, she gave me major Mary Poppins vibes cause this was a family desperately in need of some laughter, warmth, and FUN again and Katya came into their lives like she was heaven sent.

And Leon…oh my sweet baby boy. Father of the year. Husband of the year. GIVE THIS MAN ALL THE AWARDS! After everything he'd endured for years, I just wanted someone to finally love him. Not for what he could provide, not because of who he is responsible for, but because he was Leon. Seeing Katya give him that kind of love and watching him slowly realize that this was what a marriage could actually feel like was so so so so so satisfying.

“You say the most romantic things sometimes, Leon.”
“You inspire them, Katya.”

Their relationship was honestly beautiful. There was so much mutual respect between them and a maturity that I really appreciated and rarely see in this trope/genre. They communicated, they listened, they actually enjoyed each other, and their marriage became one built on genuine love rather than obligation. "Profound" isn't a word I throw around very often when reviewing, but there really was something deeply profound about the connection these two built. Let me just say, that's something K.L. Mann does SO well in this series. The dialogue is never just surface level, these characters actually TALK. Their conversations have depth and meaning, and sometimes I swear reading these books feels like I've started a new season of an addictive family drama and I'm just sitting there completely invested in everyone's lives.

And apparently that communication carries over into other areas of the marriage too because…UHM HELLO 👀 Even their physical relationship was so good because of how vocal and confident they were with each other. Katya's confidence combined with Leon's praise kink? Hell yeah! Also, the fireplace scene in Chapter 48…chef's kiss to the max, no additional notes hehe.

Of course how could I possible review this book without giving a shoutout to my boys Leo and Bastian, who were quite possibly the cutest kids EVER. I fell in love with them just as quickly as Katya did. We weren't only watching two people fall in love, we were watching four people slowly become a family. By the end, it felt like Katya hadn't simply joined their lives, she was always meant to be part of them.

“I love sharing this life with you.”

The Morettis continue to be one of my all-time favourite book families. They're chaotic, ridiculously loving, fiercely united, and every time I finish another book I somehow become even more attached to them. I genuinely thought the last book was my favourite in the series with all the cuteness between Matteo and Anya, but Fractured Empire has officially taken the crown for me. And now DANTE IS NEXT, oh my gawdddddd how will I survive this wait? I'm already frothing at the mouth waiting for this hunk of a man's book, so please consider this my formal application to K.L. Mann: if we're still looking for Dante's FMC, I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE 🙋🏻‍♀️

🏡 Found Family

First of all, I want to say how incredibly grateful I am to have received this book. I've been waiting for Leon's book for so long, and it was everything I hoped it would be!

I was actually glad that Cloe's death wasn't dragged out. One chapter was more than enough for me. 😂 Since the author had already confirmed that there wouldn't be a love triangle, I was able to enjoy the story without worrying about unnecessary drama.

I will admit, I was a little surprised that it had only been three days since Cloe passed away and Leon was already looking for a new wife. 😂 I was expecting at least a couple of months before he even considered moving on, but honestly... I get it.

And can we talk about her friend, Chloe?! Girl, she's literally your best friend—BE HAPPY FOR HER! 😂 I was so mad at her. And I absolutely loved what Ares did to her. 🤭🤭

I also loved how present the Moretti family was for Leon and the kids, especially Reina and Apollo. They were incredibly supportive and always willing to help him with the children. I really loved seeing that found-family dynamic.

Some people might disagree with me, but I actually didn't mind that certain parts of the story were rushed, like the torture scene or Leon's visit to the Moretti estate. Personally, I found it refreshing because it allowed more of the story to focus on the development of Katya and Leon's relationship, which was what I really wanted to see.

Katya completely stole my heart. 🥹 I loved how naturally accepting she was of the children and how beautifully motherhood seemed to come to her. She was so genuine, patient, and gentle with them.

It's not easy to become a good wife, let alone a great mother, in such a short amount of time. Usually, it would take months to adjust to such a huge change, but Katya handled everything so naturally, almost as if she had been born for that role. Her kindness made it impossible not to love her.

And OMG... HER DIRTY TALK. 😭🔥

My sweet Katya... IS THAT YOU?! 😂😂 I literally had to double-check that it was actually her. Their dirty talk and spicy scenes were on another level. And let's just say... that woman is DOMINANT. 🥵

One of the things I loved most about Leon was that he was never a cheater. Even while Cloe was alive, he remained loyal to her. And when Katya came into his life, he respected her boundaries, gave her space, and even gave her a separate room.

But I absolutely LOST IT when he started watching her through the cameras because he couldn't stand not seeing her. 😂 Sir, you could've just admitted you were obsessed!

I also loved how naturally he accepted Katya as a mother figure for Leo and didn't hesitate to tell him that he could call her Mommy. That was such a sweet moment. 🥹

And dear Bastian... 🥹 He was so shy and adorable, especially with the way he interacted with Leo. I already have a feeling those two are going to be incredibly protective of each other—and little Luna too. ❤️

Lastly, I want to express my sincere gratitude to the author for sending me this ARC. Thank you so much for trusting me with your book!

This easily became one of my favorite reads, and I'm pretty sure I 1.'ll be rereading it very soon. ❤️

And now... I NEED Daddy Dante's book! 👀🔥

I genuinely cannot imagine who the FMC is going to be in Envious Empire, but after this book, I'm even more excited to find out!

Thank you again for this incredible read! ❣️

5 ⭐️ - The HEA Leon deserved!

A huge thank you to KL Mann for the surprise ARC!

I have been waiting for Leon’s story since Apollo’s book (Savage Empire- Book 3), that was where KL Mann first setup that we might just get a book about Leon.

It has been well known, since book 1 that Leon has been in an unhappy marriage with his wife Cleo. All the characters POVs have consistently talked about how unhappy they are in their arranged marriage and that none of them really know Cleo because she’s kept her distance from the family.

While I initially thought, in Savage Empire that we may get a second chance/marriage in trouble romance, it was very clear in the end of the last book (Divine Empire) that Cleo and Leon would not have a HEA.

‼️ If you haven’t read the previous books or the blurb for this one, this is your spoiler warning ‼️

Cleo’s death is an absolute tragedy, for her and her kids. She was a complicated woman made by the impossible circumstances of her life. I liked reading about why she did what she did, it made me understand and empathize with her.

Leon Moretti is a gem of a man, he handled the situation with Cleo with a lot more grace than I would have. Not only was he there for her and their kids throughout, he also made sure to fulfill her final wishes for their kids.

Katya Lukacova/Moretti is the perfect match and exactly the HEA Leon and his kids deserve. She was a peaceful and extremely caring character. She took up the role of a care giver for the kids, Leo and Bastian, beautifully. Her relationship/bond with them was so endearing to read! Leo and Bastian are cutest kids and absolutely one of the best parts about this book!

Leon and Katya’s relationship progressed perfectly. It started with them both focused on the kids to being attracted to each other physically and emotionally. I loved seeing Leon go from attracted to absolutely obsessed! He absolutely lives up to the Moretti name and has definitely climbed up to the top spot with Apollo for me! A dirty talking single dad, need I say more? 😏

I adore this series and I think my long winded review speaks for itself! This is yet another excellent installment to the series. I can’t wait to dive into Dante’s book next! I’m sure he’s about to dethrone his sons for the top spot in the series!

ARC Review NO SPOILERS!!
This is my third ARC from Kassie and I am NOT disappointed in the least! This book had me smiling at how Leo was so outspoken and confident and how Bastian was so shy yet bashful. They were complete angels 😇.
This book took me by surprise and I could not put it down! Those boys were why I stayed up so late and Leon FINALLY finding a woman who not only loves and truly cares for the boys as her own but him as well, was everything to me. All I wanted was Leon to feel just as cherished and loved as he did his boys and Katya more than provided that ❤️. Cleo had one thing right, Leon would be easy to fall for!
I will say reading further and further I was more understanding of Cleo…however only one thing stood out, I may understand but I cannot forgive, not fully. Chapter 46 and an incident with little Bastian had me crying and all I wanted to do was jump in this book and hug him💔.
Ares took me by surprise and had me huffing at his antics wanting to know so much more. I will say I have an inkling that there’s something going on behind the scenes with a certain someone…but just like Ares he loves messing with people’s heads!
I will say while reading I was HUNTING for secrets of what may be next for some of the brothers🤭 I know with ever fiber of my being who Dante is ending up with but I won’t spoil it🤫. I’m curious to see who will be after Dante given the end note (pretty please be Nico 🤞).
The dynamic of this book compared to others was different in all the best ways possible. Leon and Katya needed to build their new routines to ensure the boys were able to adapt to the changes of their lives. During this period we saw less of the immediate family to ensure the boys were truly happy and comfortable.
Don’t worry we still see the family a lot their Moretti’s after all. They’re known for just appearing out of thin air. We see all the children and the development of new friendships between the wives.
Overall this book deserves more than five stars 🌟 it’s was so beautifully written and the characters seen through such a beautiful light! Kassie this was truly my favorite so far!
Thank you for this opportunity I truly appreciate it💗

3.5 ⭐️

another great addition to this series… really enjoy this huge family mafia series, as there is so many great characters and I enjoy all the different friendships and relationships and just it’s not as dark as other mafia books can be

their family was so sweet and it was fun to see everything come together! there was a few small things that slightly bothered me:

there was a small disconnect for me in their transition from caring for the boys & being attracted to each other, directly to love and obsessed with each other… I just felt like I missed a little bit of their personal relationship development and getting to know each other (still adored their family)

them calling her mom felt sort of rushed and strange to me, especially with her own strong opinion of not calling her stepfather her father (she would get quite upset at this)… not to say I don’t love when they finally have that “mom” moment for the first time, but it had been less than two months and it was constantly stated that Cleo was a great mom so it just felt strange to rush that transition (think we could’ve had a few more time jumps first, like maybe after the baby?)

my fave part of this series is all the characters and their relationships and since they live a bit away, I felt I didn’t get as much of the siblings as I’ve gotten used to (which I can understand but also really missed those moments) just felt stuck in their family (again they were sweet I was just expecting more of the others I guess)

some parts felt a little over explained, but overall it was easy to binge read and I’m excited to see what comes next and for more of this family!

✨ARC Review

Another amazing story and another Moretti getting his HEA and I absolutely loved it! 🥰

I was so excited to read this book, and it completely lived up to my expectations. It broke my heart for Leon. His marriage to Cleo was far from happy, and just when he finally found the courage to ask for a divorce, he received the worst news imaginable. Reading Cleo’s letter after her death broke my heart all over again for both of them. 🥺🥺🥺

Katya and Leon were absolutely perfect for each other, and I loved watching their relationship develop. The sweet bond between Katya and the boys was just beautiful. I also loved that this series isn’t heavily centred around the mafia lifestyle, but instead focuses so much on family, love, and the relationships between the Morettis. I absolutely adore the entire Moretti clan!

One thing that surprised me in this book was that none of the Moretti brothers became attached to Katya like I was expecting. Instead, we got Leon being the most wonderful father, husband, and man, and Katya was the perfect woman to complement him.

I absolutely loved Leo he was such a fun, cheeky kid while Bastian was so sweet and shy, and I loved seeing what a good big brother he was to Leo. Their relationship was adorable. ❤️

This book gave me all the feels, and I loved every minute of it. I’m officially ready for Daddy Dante now! 😍🔥

Thank you, K.L. Mann, for giving me the opportunity to read this book as an ARC. It was an absolute pleasure, and I loved every moment of it! ❤️

Kassie, you have DONE IT AGAIN. I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever read something so fast in my life. Leon. Freaking. Hot. Moretti. 😭🔥
I’ve always had a thing for Dante Moretti and his whole daddy vibe, but Leon??? Leon absolutely blew me away. This book was hot, cute, full of love and just… gosh. Leon, the man that you are. 🫠 A genuinely kind, loving man, an amazing father, and yes, I VERY much enjoyed the spicy side of him too. 😂 * The office scene* 🔥

And Katya?! I LOVEEE Katya. Loved her from beginning to end. I honestly think she might be my favorite wife now. At first I was sitting there like, “Okayyy… how slow is this slow burn going to be?” but then once it started going, I could NOT put the book down. Ugh, they are seriously the cutest couple.

This one wasn’t as action-packed as some of the others when it comes to danger, but I actually loved that. It really focused on family, Leon finding the right woman to love him and help raise his boys, and then the two of them figuring out how to be parents, husband and wife, and a real family together. 🥹

And THE KIDS. Please. They were one of the best parts of the entire book. I was giggling so much. 😂

I also love that she keeps bringing the rest of the family into every book. We never completely leave anyone behind, so we still get little updates and moments with everybody, and I LOVE that about this series.

And yes… after everything…

I finally forgave Cleo. 😂

Thank you so much, K.L. Mann, for the ARC of Fractured Empire!

MY LORD. I have been waiting for Leon’s story since the SECOND we found out he was getting his own book, and Leon Moretti , SIR?! You may have just jumped your way up the list of my favorite Moretti men.

We’ve seen glimpses of Leon throughout the previous books, especially through his loveless marriage to Cleo, but getting his full story gave us SO much more insight into their relationship. And as much as you may have disliked Cleo before, this book really gives you a better understanding of why she was the way she was and why she made some of the choices she did. Do I agree with all of those choices? Absolutely not. BUT I definitely walked away feeling more sympathy for her and understanding her character in a way I didn’t before.

NOW. KATYA.

This woman was MADE for Leon and his boys. She was exactly what this family needed: the perfect partner for Leon and such an incredible presence in the lives of his two adorable sons. Watching her become part of their family absolutely melted me.

And Leon and Katya together?! PERFECT. The chemistry, the relationship, the family dynamic—I ate every second of it up.

I absolutely loved everything about this book. Leon and Katya were everything I wanted them to be and MORE.

And now that I’ve gotten Leon’s story…

I AM READY FOR DADDY DANTE.

Tropes:
- Arranged marriage
- Single dad
- Age gap
- Kinda of slow burn
- Cute kids

I want to thank Kassie for the ARC. I ate the book up in one day❤️

Leon is such a good dad, I think we haven’t seen a lot of the ml being full on dads as they started families by the end of their individual books but seeing a Moretti boy being a dad full on was so wonderful. He is also an amazing husband which made me cry because I know he would have been an amazing husband to Cleo if circumstances were different. I loved seeing him fall in love with the women who loved his children and became their mother.

Katya reminded me of Jade. They are both very sweet and empathetic which is rare in their world. I loved that she fell for the boys so fast and hard. I loved seeing her be a mom and also fall in love with Leon as her husband and as the father for the boys. Katya really was the missing piece to Leon’s family and I’m so happy to see him happy and in love.

I think the pacing of the book is good for the plot. It’s not too fast but also not a super slow burn. Again like always with this series I loved seeing the family interact with eachother. Can’t wait for any more of the books for this family.

∆Tropes

* Mafia romance
* Marriage of convenience
* Single dad MMC
* Found family
* Age gap
* Healing & family dynamics

I DON'T THINK I'LL EVER SHUT UP ABOUT THE MORETTIS !!!

Leon completely stole my heart. Behind all the power and reputation is a man carrying so much grief, and it was heartbreaking to watch everything he endured just to keep his family together.

And then there's Cleo… my heart genuinely ached for her. Her story is painful, messy, and so beautifully written that every scene with her stayed with me long after I finished.

Katya brought so much warmth into their lives, and watching this broken family slowly heal felt incredibly comfortingand watching leon icy walls melt around her had me smiling like an idiot. Their love doesn't explode overnight it grows through tiny moments, trust, and choosing each other every single day. That's what made it feel so real.

But can we PLEASE talk about Leo and Bastian? They were the real stars of the book. Every scene with them had me smiling they're chaotic, hilarious, impossibly adorable, and honestly the cutest kids ever. I would protect them with my life.

Thank you author K.L.Mann for the Amazing Arc 🖤

I have been so so excited for Leon’s book and in my mind pre reading this NO ONE was good enough for him!

Rating 4.5 ❤️
I don’t think there’s any spoilers here:

I was concerned about the pace of this book for about one second… and then honestly, my mind was completely changed. The pacing was perfect.

The connection between the couple seemed fast at first, but it felt genuine, and I actually really loved how their relationship developed. As much as I’m sad I didn’t end up with Leon( very salty about this still), I’m genuinely so happy with how everything went.

This book was wholesome, kind, and healing in a way I didn’t know I needed. Honestly, I couldn’t have dealt with anything less and I don’t think Leon deserved anymore curveballs!

I also noticed some really interesting side characters and a few potential subplots that were hinted at throughout the book, so I’m VERY excited to see where/ if those go anywhere next!!

Beautiful, comforting, and exactly what I needed.
Thanks for letting me be an ARC reader again and wonderfully done!

I’ve been waiting for Leon’s book ever since I read the first one. I was so intrigued by the dynamic between him and Cleo, and through this book, we get to understand so much more about these characters.

What a book! There were parts that genuinely made me emotional, but ahhh… trust, resilience, fate, and taking that leap of faith— this book really gives you everything.
It was such a privilege to be an ARC reader for this story, and my heart is just so full and happy for Leon. He deserves everything good.

I did miss the text messages we got in the other books, though—haha!
But nevertheless, the sibling chaos was still very much there, along with that strong Moretti family bond that I absolutely love.

I seriously can’t get enough of the Morettis.

Now, I just need to wait for Papa Dante’s turn!

Loved this book! Katya was exactly what Leon needed. She’s just one of those people who is meant to be a mom, and she’s absolutely perfect at it. Her relationship with the kids was just perfect. Honestly, Bastian and Leo are so adorable that you can’t help but love them.

This book was perfect. The way Katya and Leon’s relationship was constructed was so well done. I loved that we didn’t have an unnecessary third-act breakup because it would’ve just been nonsense and completely out of character for their story.

This book was even better than I expected, and I honestly couldn’t have imagined their story being any different. I’m so excited for the next book and to see what Dante’s story has in store for us.

We follow Leon’s story, getting a much closer look at him as an underboss and as a person. I really enjoyed the romance in this one and loved the journey of the two main characters coming together.

We also get more insight into his first marriage and why his wife rejected him so strongly. I could empathise with her and understand her perspective, even though I still felt there could have been another way. I appreciated that the author gave us the opportunity to understand her side.

I also loved having Leon’s two kids at the centre of the story. It really brought the found-family element to life.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one and I’m excited to see the empire series continue to grow!
