Stephanie is a New Adult romance author who debuted her first series in Spring of 2014, but her love affair with books began at an early age. She consumed them from the moment she learned to read, loving nothing more than to get lost in the fictional worlds that came to life on the pages. Creating her own stories was something she always enjoyed but never pursued until she wrote Finding Ever After, her first novel. It has been a dream come true ever since.

She has many passions outside books, including hiking, traveling, drawing, painting, design, baking and cake decorating. Prior to the release of her first novel, she was running her own bakery and cake shop in the small coastal town where she was born and raised and returned home to after moving away for college. Becoming an author has been an incredible journey, one she hopes never ends.

It is no secret that I am in love with the Ever After series. I read the first book, Jax and Ky’s story as well as book two, Ace and Sadie’s story, so I was so excited to read Jax and Ky’s story all over again from Ky’s point of view. It was fantastic!!

We got to see so many more sides to Ky; why he had the demons that he did and why he made the choices he did when it came to love. We saw more of his sucky childhood and why music is such an important part of his life.

“I’ve never know peace like I feel when I’ve got a guitar in my lap and my fingers are gliding over the strings.”

I loved watching him fall for Jax, his Princess.

“Who the hell was this girl that she could just show up out of nowhere, and in one night start shaking up my life? Why did I want her so bad?”

It was emotional and heart wrenching to see him fight with himself. At times, I wanted to punch him in the nuts for the way he was treating Jax, but in his mind he really thought it was to protect her.

“I’m not a hero or a prince. I’m not even a good guy, but I can’t shut this off, this ache in my chest. When I’m around you, I feel things that I don’t want to.”

Seeing the scene when Jax was attacked from his perspective made me cry. Stephanie, you have made a fan for life. I love your writing style and can’t wait to read the next in the series!! ~ Tiffany, 4.5 stars

I am new to reading this author. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters are very well described. There was a slow build up into the story, but once I started I couldn't put the book down. I love how she how she brought new things to light about the characters. I read this book without reading anything else. This is an awesome stand alone book. I stayed up too late for a few nights to be able to keep reading. I would love to read more from this author. I would say anyone who reads this will enjoy it. I would definitely recommend this book.

For some time now, I've wanted to get inside Kyden's head. I was thrilled when McManus finally gave us this story from Kyden's point of view. This added so much more depth to an already unbelievable story. I walked away from this book loving Kyden and Jaxyn even more than I already did.

Kyden and Jaxyn's story isn't an easy one. Filled withe secrets and past hangups they are both broken souls who become whole again with one another. Combine their story with wonderfully written funny side characters, you get an amazing series worth reading. I highly recommend that you take a moment, buy McManus' books and support this author. She will not let you down.

~~~~~~~~~~Sharlene's ★★★★✰ Review~~~~~~~~~~
A copy of this title was received in exchange for an honest review.
Fighting Ever After is the third installment in the Ever After series. The first installment was titled Finding Ever After and was the story of Jax and Kyden from Jax's POV. Fighting Ever After is the story of Jax and Kyden from Kyden's POV. So essentially the same storyline but with a twist. This time around we get to see what is going through the twisted, broken mind of Kyden while all of the same stuff happens. It is pretty interesting actually. I love a book that has dual perspectives so having it split like this was good as well. The characters are all the same and are well developed. There are lots of other characters and we get to see each of them in each of the installments of this series. While reading Jax's story, I really wasn't sure if I truly liked Ky. But after reading Kyden's story, it helped fill in the gaps and I can honestly say that I love him now. The way the author writes makes it easy to like and follow the story and the characters. I can't wait to move on to the next installment of the series.
This is a stand alone but makes so much more sense if you at least read the first installment prior to reading this one. This one does have an HEA.
~~~~~~~~~~Dee's ★★★✰✰ Review~~~~~~~~~~

If you read my five star reviews of books 1 & 2, you will find glowing references to the brilliant, talented writing of the author. While this book has the same excellent artistry, I feel she dropped the ball by repeating book one. The only difference is it is from Kyden's POV. Why retell an excellent story? There are no surprises, no secrets, no unexpected twists, no wondering how it will end. All the anticipation, the mystery is gone. The only analogy I can think of is this: imagine a glorious, traditional Thanksgiving feast with turkey, dressing, all the fixings and a table full of a variety of pies and desserts. Now, three days later the dishes are warmed over. Reruns never deliver the same delicious punch as first experienced, whether it be food or an amazing story. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Three Stars.

~~~~~~~~~~Amanda's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Words cannot describe how much I really enjoyed this read. It had me from the beginning and throughout the rest of the series. I couldn't put it down. It was an emotional roller coaster but well worth it. This is one read that grabbed a hold and wouldn't let go. The author did an excellent job of giving you just enough to make you want to keep reading more. I will have to say, this third book brought tears to my eyes. I was given an ARC for my honest review.
~~~~~~~~~~Holly's ★★★★✰ Review~~~~~~~~~~

I am at a loss for words. This is the first time I have read the "same" book from a different characters perspective. This version gives more insight to Kyden' s inner demons and the choices he makes. It was like starting all over again and still wondering what was going to happen. I am thoroughly impressed with this author and cannot wait to read more

** Copy kindly provided by Stephanie Hoffman McManus for an honest review. **

I’m not a great fan of retelling stories. The first book, Finding Ever After was told in Jaxyn’s POV and this time, we got Kyden’s side of their story. Once again, the author surprised me. I think I fall more in love with Kyden.

He got burned in his past and decided to protect his heart. Women knows where to stand. No relationships. Just one night-stands. His mantra seemed to work perfectly until Jaxyn came into his life, breaking all his walls.

A feisty and refreshing tornado, blowing everything in her path, messing up with his feelings. Making him crazy. I loved it! Reading about how he fell in love but completely in denial was just moving, his flaws, soft side made him more real. His willingness to be a better man moved me.

He was struggling so hard to give his heart again, to let it go. One step forward, three steps backwards.

The characters’ psychology were well developed, Kyden and Jaxyn’s friends were awesome, with a great dynamic. I really enjoyed being into Kyden’s head.

This book was definitely not a retelling and I liked reading some new information about their love story.

Book 3 in the Ever After Series and can be read as a standalone but oh so much better if read in order. This book is from Kyden's POV.

Getting played a s a teenager from an older women has turned Ky into a man whore. He never wanted to be what his parents expected from him. He dropped out of Harvard to focus on his music. Being the lead man in the band he has women falling all over him. Something he has no problem taking advantage of. He has rules, he don't sleep over, doesn't do relationships or do girls that are in a relationship. Until one night when Jaxyn falls into his lap. There is something about this one that he can't get out of his mind. First he thinks it is because she won't jump into bed with him. She is a challenge but as time goes on it becomes so much more then that.

I loved Ky in the first book. Now to be able to read his POV has me even more in love with him. Such a broken messed up in the head man. As he lets his walls down with Jax, a whole other Ky emerges. One that can feel and knows he is capable of love. It might scare the hell out of him and makes him want to run. But still the same he can feel more then he ever thought. This series has such a wonderful cast of characters, you fall for each and every one. Just waiting for the moment that they are going to fall and realize you can't always run from love.

We know the story of Jax and Kyden from reading the first instalment Finding Ever After from Jax’s point of view.

Now it’s time for Kyden to have a voice. It’s time for Kyden to be heard.

Fighting Ever After takes us into Kyden’s world.

A world of hurt and pain.
A world of heart-ache.
A world of internal struggle.
A world of hope.
A world of love.

We get to see Kyden’s struggles with his well to do family.
What their expectations were.
What was expected from him.
But ultimately what Kyden chose, and why he walked away.

We get to see Kyden’s internal struggles.
Is he good enough?
Is he worthy of love?
Does he deserve happiness?
Will he ever be understood?

We also get to see Kyden falling in love with Jax, his princess through his eyes.

We fell in love with Kyden and Jax all over again.

Once again Stephanie McManus has given us another amazing read. We laughed. We cried. We held our breath. This time we saw it through Kyden’s eyes and we were not disappointed.

Yet again another brilliant read that should be on everyone’s TBR list.

Again for us a definite 5 star read.

Stunning! I was just blown away with Fighting Ever After. This story comes after Finding Ever After and Chasing Ever After. I didn’t need to read the first two books to enjoy this book. However, reading the first two really packed the wow punch to understanding Ky better. I loved Jax and Ky already, but the power of seeing everything from Ky’s point of view was just brilliant.

Ky is a man-whore that doesn’t apologize for who he is or what he does. And yet when Jax walks into the bar and literally lands in his lap he finds that wants more from her. Jax just up and left town a few years ago but she’s back now. Ky is slowly learning her story and he’s not liking it. He wants to make it right for her. The emotions that pour from Ky were beautiful and breathtaking even when those emotions weren’t always the best.

Kyden has to work through his own baggage and step up if he wants to be there for Jax. Watching him do it was excruciating. It was a good thing that he had a strong group of friends there for him. I was really happy that I got to see from Ky’s point of view. There was so much more to him than I ever thought.

4 stars for Kyden's POV in the retelling of Finding Ever After. I have never really been a fan of a retelling in either the male or female POV but this book was different than others along the same trope. Where most of the time you get an almost verbatim rehashing of details we got to learn a lot of new information regarding Kyland's life.

The childhood that was beyond bad in book one was in actuality even worse than Ky ever lead on. Then to understand how he behaves in relationships (or lack there of) because of how he was burned when he was younger makes you realize why he had his strict set of rules. Ky was living it up and enjoying his life until this beautiful girl literally landed in his lap. Jaxsyn changed Ky on a fundamental level by making him want to be a better man someone more deserving of his princess. So his rule book went out the window along with his philosophy on relationships.

Loved the relationship and dynamics through Ky's storytelling. Can't wait to read all about whoever is up next :)

First, I need to be honest up front and say that I am not a fan of books that are from the other half of a couples point of view. I personally find it unnecessary, and usually don't learn enough to make a difference. With that being said, I did read the book.
I'm not sure if it is because I read it so soon after the first book, or if maybe I should have read it immediately after, but I actually found this book confusing at times. I'm not sure if someone who hadn't already read the first book, would be able to read it without getting lost, or maybe that is exactly what I needed. Just not sure how it works as a standalone. I seemed to spend my time waiting for Ky's POV on certain exact situations from the first book, and then in most cases came away disappointed. I will say, I absolutely loved the epilogue, and to me all HEA's ought to have one! Still love Ky and Jax together though, but unfortunately I give this book a 3.6 star rating.

Holy H E DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS!!!
I did not think I could love Ky anymore than I already did and then this freaking book happened to me!!

I would like to start out by saying I received book 1 in this series about 2 weeks ago in exchange for an honest review and here I am on book 3 still in love with this series! The character are so much fun and I could live in this world forever.

Fighting Ever After is book 3 in the Ever After series and is Ky's point of view from book 1. You could read it as a stand alone but for the full experience I recommend reading them in order!

Ky is one messed up rocker! He has so much baggage that he does not think he is capable of giving Jazz (PRINCESS) the life she wants. The life he wants for her! We know how the story ends but what about those nights he left her alone...? What about the night at the festival?

This book is not to be missed simply because you know how it ends!

I loved this book. It was cute, funny and all around amazing. I liked how we got to see everything from kyden's POV and we get to understand why he did what he did. Userly I don't like it when guys like a girl but then they sleep with other ones but in this I still didn't like it very much but I understood why he did it and that he thought it would be the best thing for both of them.

This book was funny and sweet but mostly it had charters that were trying to solve some bad problems and had some messed up ways of dealing with things and some bad ways of thinking. This book shows how even if you have had a bad childhood that you are still captured by on some level you can have that happily ever after if you try hard-enough.

I like that it mentions obsidian in there was very surprising and exiting to find. :)

Another great book by Stephanie so thank you.

Yes! A must read

Okay so I went in reading Ky and Jax story in the first book. This book is for Kys POV. Which I loved. And thought was needed after all the carp he pulled.

It was amazing. I was touch and go with Ky I was not sure if he was just leading Jax on. This book clears everything up. I loved seeing into his head. Although not always a good place to be. The story was still incredible. The darkness that ky carries is explained and helped me really enjoy his story. It's obviously not just a retelling because they spent time a part and now we know what was really going from all points.

I would recommend this book to everyone. But start with book 1 in the ever after series.

Fighting Ever After (third book in Ever After series) by Stephanie Hoffman McManus

*contains spoilers*
Fighting Ever After takes us back to Kyden and Jax's story, but this time it's all from Kydens view point.
Kyden never had a healthy relationship growing up. He didn't go to school, he had tutors that came to the house. His parents basically had him to complete the family look for his father's voters since he's a politician. They never bonded with him and basically saw him as a prop. The only person who gave him the time of day was Elaina, his violin instructor. She was less then professional and took advantage of a kid/teen who wanted attention. After she left him he went a little nuts and decided he would never give a woman the time of day other than to have sex with her. Then it all changed when Jax walked into the bar.
"I never fucking saw her coming. She was like a damn meteor , burning bright and hot, crashing into me and changing everything."
This time you could feel his struggle to stay away from Jax. Boy did he fight it. From the moment she landed in his lap he didn't have eyes for anyone else. He tried to have sexual relations with other women, but he couldn't stop the feeling that he was betraying her. He could never complete the act.
When she moved in after Connor burned he house, he loved it. Not because she cooked and cleaned. But just spending time with her, playing video games, watching Supernatural, whatever she wanted her to do. He didn't want her to leave. Then when he finally let her in and tried the whole boyfriend thing, it was basically his kiss of death. He never wanted it to end. Then when the band got signed he basically decided to push her away. Mainly because she told him she loved him.
After a while he told her all about Elaina. With the band going off of tour he did what he thought was best and walked away. After he felt like he was just a shell of himself.
"Once you’ve loved someone you can’t just forget what that’s like. You can live your whole life in the dark, ignorant, but once you’re exposed to that first ray of light, suddenly you’re aware of the darkness . Jaxyn wasn’t just a ray of light; she burned brighter than the whole damn sun."
On tour he was basically a recluse. He didn't feel like himself. When he left Jax he left the best parts of him with her. Then when Ace came into his room and told him about her being attacked it was game over. He knew he would do everything he could to get his girl back. When they got to the hospital he refused to leave her side. Kyden spilled everything to her while she was in her coma.
"I didn’t deserve you, but I loved you in that moment and every moment after, even when I didn’t show it. I need you to wake up Princess, so that you can forgive me again. I screwed up so bad this time."
We all know that they got their happy ending. It was interesting to see it from Kydens perspective. I won't lie this made me love him a little more then I did after the first book. Fighting Ever After made it more clear how much Kyden was hopelessly in love and committed to Jaxyn then we thought before. They definitely bring out the best in each other and I can't wait to keep following them through everyone else's stories.

description
How was it possible to be sweeter the second time around, but it was!
I am a huge fan of this series – HUGE! The ensemble cast is a wonderful blend of eclectic characters all centered on a rock band on the rise, its members and the women who love them. For the third installment, in a different twist, it’s actually Jaxyn and Kyden’s story told completely from Ky’s point of view. Honestly, any chance to spend more time with this group of characters is a win in my book but hearing a story I LOVE from Ky’s perspective? Well, it was Christmas all over again!
Just a few paragraphs in and I began to revel and appreciate Ky’s unique take on the story I already loved. If you haven’t read the first book in this series you will want to before coming quickly back and diving into this beautiful retelling.
And it was beautiful. Brought together by mutual friends and concern for Jaxyn’s well-being, Ky couldn’t help the feelings that were growing for Jax. He had distanced himself from any thoughts of long-term love or even family and hearing how it all came to be brought clarity to so many of things he had done.
His past and his family impacted all of his relationships but how they governed any romantic ones was clear to see.
“You know, I was so worried about how bad you would be for her that I never considered how good she might be for you.”
So many scenes come to mind where Ky’s perspective heightened already emotional moments to another level entirely. From something as seemingly ordinary as babysitting to anguished scenes at the hospital, Ky had me sighing with longing and reaching for a tissue or two.
These characters bring with them so much heart and feeling that I can’t help but feel a part of every conversation and scene. If anyone ever says to me a man isn’t capable of emotional depth or caring, well, I will just direct them to this book!
“I’d never know anyone like her, someone who still seemed so sweet and gentle, but still a force to be reckoned with.”
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this series and can’t wait for more!

Review of Fighting Ever After (Ever After #3) by Stephanie Hoffman McManus

Review done for Hooked on Books

4 out of 5 stars

Kyden McCabe is supposed to be the perfect Senator’s son. However, Kyden doesn’t want to be. He is a lead singer for one of Boston’s hottest bands.

He can have any girl he wants; and he usually does. He only does hookups, no relationships. In his teens, he was seduced and tricked by his violin teacher. It scarred him for life.

When he meets Jaxyn, he is confused. He is absolutely attracted to her but doesn’t want the usual hookup. He thinks he doesn’t deserve love so he does everything he can to push Jaxyn away. Jaxyn is smart, sweet, and totally sexy. He doesn’t want to hurt her.

It takes a horrific accident to make Kyden see that he can’t live without Jaxyn. He is in love and cannot fight it anymore.

This book is pretty much the same story as Finding Ever After except in Kyden’s point of view. I didn’t really see too much new in this book.

I really like Jaxyn and Kyden: they are a great couple. I just felt the book dragged on at times. Kyden was so back and forth throughout the book; I just wanted to shake him.

I do recommend this book to be rad along with the first two in this series.

This book takes us back to the beginning but it's from Kydan's perspective, his feelings and thoughts. It is just as good as the first book and gives us the insight into why he behaves as he does, fighting against the love he feels for Jax. Although we got a fairly good read on it from her story it does clarify, it also fills us in on the other girls including Kaylie and what happened between them. I wasn't sure at first if I needed to read what was basically the same story over again, but once you start reading you realise that though the events between Ky and Jax are the same, it is fairly different. Being told from his side you see the whys and get the answers we don't get from hers. It is well worth reading especially as the end is slightly different to Jax's with a surprise. I was tempted to read this straight after the first book and then read Sadie and Ace's story as the third, but I am glad I didn't because the ending and another event take place during their book and it would have been spoilt. So don't be tempted read them in order. This is a gripping series with plenty to hold and keep you reading, it is interesting and not full of sex. Well written and completely worth a read.

Ah-mA-zing!!!!

There have been books where the authors have written the same book in two separate views and I could not get into it because of already knowing how the story goes, but that is definitely NOT the case with this one. Reading how hard it was for Kyden to go through everything was unbelievable. You could tell in Jax's book that he was having a hard time of it, but hearing how he felt with everything that had happened to her, and as the newer things happened was awful. I loved this story the first time and I love it even more now. Thanks Stephanie for another amazing read. Can't wait until Chris and Spade find their happily ever after!

Nice look into Ky

I read the first book awhile ago and was looking forward to the Ky POV...since it gave us a tease at the end of the book. I was happy with it...you understand now why he was pushing her away and 'trying' to be a d**k. I hope we get to hear about Spade or Chris next.
