For a novella this was very good. Very hot interaction between Dev and Nephira. Dev is an incubus and Nephira a nephillim...not just a nephillim but a blade. A sort of warrior angel type. These two are not supposed to get together but when Dev goes storming into the sacred space of the Three Nephira is the only one who can stand up to him. He is angry because his brother has been murdered by someone from their court and that only happens if the Three order it. There is no apparent reason for the murder & Dev is incensed, so he takes Nephiri as a hostage since they have taken his brother. Only that kinda backfires. He has been very careful not to have sex with anyone who could bear a child or become a mate, but he can't resist Nephiri and the Sparks are enough to start a raging fire. Lovely ending but now I have to read the rest of the books, it's that good!
This novella is a great beginning to the Masters of Seduction series. The beginning plot is set and the lies are starting to emerge. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.
Read as part of the Masters of Seduction anthology. An interesting start to an overall story which I think will continue by the other authors in the anthology. On to the next part!
Delvin Gravori who is an Incubus, found out his brother and the human, he was having sex with at the time was murdered. Dev found a black blade that killed him. Dev went to see The Three at the Temple to demand who had his brother killed. The Three said they didn't do it. He vowed to find the killer and since they showed an indifference to his plight, he wanted them to feel a lose like he feels so he took the head of security blade named Nahiri. Dev doesn't understand why he has these feelings for a blade like he does. She would kill him if ordered. Nahiri found herself whisked away by an Incubus, who has a body to die for and who emits sexuality at every turn. After all he is a sex God. Nahiri is a virgin, chose to be a warrior then be in the harem to be a release for the incubus when they anted sex or children. She needs to stop having those kind of thoughts of him in that way. I loved reading this novella. As a reader of Lara Adrian books, again she has sucked me into another family of characters you hate to love. You won't be disappointed in this book, other than that you want to read more.
it was entertaining and well written. I really enjoy Lara Adrian's stories, they are always full of adventures. I love Fantasy as it makes forget the nasty real world.
