I did quite a bit of writing in the late 90s and early 2000s, but life got busy. I recently started pulling out my work going through it, publishing it on Amazon for Kindle readers.

On Amazon, I posted,

"Great mood, great characterization of a man coming to grips with the horror that he's become. If you appreciate gritty crime noir mixed with elements of surreality, this is a seriously decent read. Recommended."

Because the ambiance is bit more relaxed here on Goodreads, I will add that this is crime fiction that shows some of the rawer elements of the underworld and will not be to everyone's taste. I'd rate it age 16+: violence, some harsh language, but all in keeping with the story. Well-written.

Note: After purchasing the e-book, I received this rather droll confirmatory e-mail from Amazon with the subject line, "Amazon.com order of Dead Bird." Gee, you can get anything from those guys!

From my Amazon post, "Like with David's other short stories his characters come through. This story was more reserved than others but it is still an enjoyable quick read. Jones was a struggling character searching for meaning in the life he has leading, juxtaposed against the life he wishes he had. This is a good read."
