The Returned Prince
Daphne Silver at long last had it all.
At least almost.
After surviving the tragic accident that turned her world upside down, being transported to the fae realm where she found her god-given magic, bonding an adorable puppy dragon, and meeting a fae king ready to give her his world.
There’s just one more thing left for her to do, bring her kids back to this magical realm. Then everything will be perfect.
Of course, nothing is that easy.
She thought there were no surprises left after accidentally traveling through a magical mirror and unearthing eerie connections between this world and her own.
That is until the person she thought she knew best makes an unexpected appearance.
While unraveling the carefully woven lies and truths of her life, the only thing she is certain of is that she’s going to find a way home to her kids— regardless of what she has to do.
Faced with life altering revelations and unbelievable choices, Daphne has to decide her fate.
Will she choose the past she knows or take a chance on changing her future?

By far my favorite Kish book to date!!!
Thank you Elle for the e-arc. All thoughts are my own.
I loved this book from start to finish. We got so much more world building in this one. So many questions answered and information about Daphne and her heritage. I went through all the emotions. She was in such a difficult place, and I kept hoping she would get to be with her kids again. This book was fantastic!!

Thanks to @ellekishauthor for the #gifted copy of this book. 🫶
My Thoughts: The Returned Prince was a fantastic book 2 for this series. I love how it started right where we left off. I had so many emotions throughout this book and had so much trouble putting it down.
It's so hard to review this without giving too much away. However, I really enjoyed the love triangle, which is saying a lot because I generally loathe them. The writing was so well done because, although I had someone in mind for Daph from the beginning, the story kept me guessing just enough to make every twist exciting. I couldn't wait to see how it would all play out.
Wyatt has never been one of my favorite characters so far, but I loved watching him grow and change when truths were finally laid out for him. His love for his family, especially for his children, shined through by the end of the book, and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for him.
Finally, the twists and turns with layers of betrayal throughout this one were fantastically written. I was completely invested in unraveling the mystery and spent the entire book trying to figure out who the real mastermind was. I couldn't wait to tell Elle that my guessing was correct! I'm so excited to see what's next for these characters I'm growing to love after that unbelievable cliffhanger.

**Received ARC from the author**
This is my first true ARC and I’m beyond honored to have been picked to be apart of Elle’s Street Team!!
The Returned Prince is a sweeping, romantic journey that delivered on all the tropes I love, with a refreshing twist on the love triangle that I haven't seen done this way before. It felt genuinely complex and uncommon, avoiding the typical cliches and adding a layer of depth that kept me guessing until the very end. This cliffhanger had me *digitally* flipping the pages back and forth in disbelieve that is was the end (for now).
The romance is top-tier and the stakes felt high throughout. There were moments where the pacing slowed down due to some heavy descriptive passages, but the prose was so enjoyable that I didn't mind taking my time to soak in the atmosphere. A must-read for fans of the Traveler of Heart series who enjoyed the first book and prequel novella as more detailed and immersive storytelling style!

I received an advanced reader copy from the author.
I loved the first book and the prequel novella so I was excited to go back to the Traveler of Heart world. Without giving spoilers, it gave me everything I wanted and more. I enjoyed the character development that was made possible by having chapters from the point of view of Daphne, Wyatt, and Silas. I was surprised by a lot of the twists and already can’t wait for the next one!!

Who's read The Returned Prince? Please message me lol. I'm going to try so hard not to put spoilers here but I have a lot of thoughts!
First, The Returned Prince picks up immediately where Traveler of Heart ends. Here's what I expected and I have to list them out lol:
1. The Returned Prince - Wyatt - was going to be a villain.
2. Then I thought that maybe we were going to be tricked and the true villain is Silas.
3. Maybe we'd get a closed door why choose moment?
How do I talk about this book without spoilers? PLEASE GO READ THESE. Okay... so thoughts....
My heart is shattered. What I did not expect from this book was to sympathize with Wyatt. I kept thinking that at any moment, he's going to prove to us he's a bad person after all. But as the book kept going, I realized.... I love Wyatt. I pick Wyatt. I want... no I NEED Wyatt to get a HEA. PLEASE GIVE WYATT A HEA - oracle rule be damned. That may be an unpopular opinion but I stand by my decision. His POV gave us more than Daphne's or Silas' and I loved reading his so much. Even when my heart broke from him. He owned everything, and that's all I can ask for.
Daphne. I want you to have a why choose moment ROFL. Look, I know you're fated to Silas, that's not a secret, but Wyatt loves you too. And while I 100% understand why you're angry, and your feelings changed (dang fated bond), I need you to love Wyatt. As the books move forward, if the two of you can find a happy place of best friendship, I'll survive. But I need you to move on from the anger and support him. I did not expect to love both men in this book and to end up hating someone else instead. That was the biggest plot twist I've ever had on my bingo card!
Silas. I was never sold on you. I've always felt you may be a secret super villain. While I may be very wrong about that, your relationship with Daphne hasn't felt genuine to me yet. You moved super fast and I dunno... Wyatt's feelings feel more real than yours do. Sorry, not sorry that I choose Wyatt. lol. I hope I come to understand you better and root for your fated bond but I currently don't.
THEN THERE'S THAT CLIFFHANGER. alskdjf;aslkdfj;asld that's my thoughts on that. When does book 3 come out? I NEED ANSWERS!

This is a fantastic second installment in the Traveler of Heart series! After that cliffhanger in book one? Absolutely! The high stakes continue, and the love triangle provides loads of tension throughout the story.
The FMC is Daphne Silver. She spent book 1 getting to know Silas, and trying to get back to her own realm. She’s reeling from revelation that her Wyatt is very much alive and has been living in Carimea while she believed he was dead. And he’s the heir to the Carimean throne, he never told her. He thinks that taking her and keeping her locked in his castle will make everything just fine and Daphne is horrified, in shock, and super angry and he just cannot figure it out. But she must play along because .. reasons.
MMC 1 is Wyatt. He’s got some explaining to do. He is a dragon rider and heir to the throne of Carimea. He was pretty much a dick the entire book and had good character development by the end but I can’t ever forgive him. His whole modus operandi is that he has his wife back and he’s saving her from Silas his mortal enemy. His behavior is arrogant, he gaslights her, attempts to lovebomb her and swindle her into becoming his queen. Happy ever after just as he planned all along. And where is Whitney?
MMC2 is Silas, he spends the whole book trying to get back to Daphne and getting his people together to rescue her. We learn a ton of lore about his and Wyatt’s family feud and he’s still the best guy plus he’s Daphne’s mate. However, he’s been wounded by some really dark magic and has to get his powers back to ensure the bond still holds and can be sealed. Much battle planning happens while separated from her.
Much like Daphne, regardless of the circumstance, and the realms and everything I don’t think I could ever truly forgive Wyatt or his sister for all of the secrets for all of the time that she was with Wyatt before he supposedly died. Both Whitney and Wyatt have redeeming qualities, but overarchingly I would always be pulling for Silas. The found family that they share have a lot of development are hugely involved in the story. Looking forward to additional lore as well as additional POV in the next book!

- First Person, Tripple POV
- Fantasy/Romance
- Fade to black romance and inuendos
- **Lots of strong language used
- Fantasy Violence
This is the second book in the Traveler of Heart series. I read the first book last year and really enjoyed how relatable I found Daphne, as a fellow book loving, plant killing, mother in her 30s (at the time I read it I was still in my 30s 😬). Daphne finds herself somehow traveling from our contemporary world into a fantasy world she's only ever thought existed in books. And she's desperate to find a way home to her world and her children. The end of that one left me desperate to find out what was going to happen next.
In The Returned Prince, I enjoyed the continuation of Daphne's story, as well as the extra POV we get throughout the book. I loved the three POVs and also, their chapter header art was all pretty cool and unique to each character. This was a fun followup to Traveler of Heart, where you really get to know the characters and intriguing world so much better. Also, loved the banter between Daphne and the Dragons. And let's hear it for people putting their kids first even when the situation is difficult. Don't want to say more so I avoid spoilers.
Just be prepared, the fade to black and inuendos seemed to be a bit more than in book 1, but still in the fade to black range. There was also A LOT of really strong language used. I'm not a huge fan of strong language in books and usually try to avoid it. That being said, I knew it would be here because the same language was used in Book one, but again, it just seemed like more and a lot of the language was not really necessary for the story to still be really good. That being said, I did NOT deduct any stars due to language because I was expecting it and if that doesn't bother you, then I would recommend it, as the story itself is a great read.

This was my most anticipated read of the year! I fell in love with Elle Kish’s #travelerofheart and #snapdragon as soon as I read them. This series is so incredibly unique because the FMC is a 36 year old mom with ADHD. Traveler of Heart left us with a HUGE clif hanger– Daphne’s husband (Wyatt) from earth is in fact ALIVE and the leader of the rebel movement in Carimea.
There are three POVs in this installment: Daphne (FMC), Wyatt (MMC Daphne’s Husband) and Silas (MMC Daphne's Mate!). I was so excited to have chapters written from our MMCs’ point of views. This gave this book a new depth of understanding of our MMCs’ inner thoughts and turmoil. It is clear that Silas is completely devoted to Daphne and I found myself yearning for them to be back together to start their life. Unfortunately (or fortunately, it is very confusing) Wyatt is in fact alive and trying to reunite with Daphne and their children.
Wyatt finds Daphne and brings her to Skaans City where he expects everything to go back to normal between them. It is fair to say things will never be normal between them again. Wyatt has so many red flags and seems to want it all without truly realizing the toll it has taken on his family. He definitely gives off some major Tamlin vibes especially at the beginning of the book. It is like he expects a hero's welcome after abandoning his family. He is in for a rude awakening after Daphne does not fall head over heels in love with him again for making her a princess.
Alas, Silas is separated from Daphne for most of this book. We meet his siblings and it creates a fuller picture of his childhood and his family dynamic. It was so nice seeing all the different kingdoms of Carimea and how each sibling rules differently from each other. We discover the full back story of Silas’s family coming to power and some dark secrets they keep from one another.
The dragon lore of this book continues to develop when we meet the ‘big’ dragons and discover they can directly communicate into their bonded mind. I adore sassy dragons and this big grump does not disappoint!
The twists and turns combined with court intrigue gave this story so much nuance and I found that my opinion of Wyatt changed dramatically throughout the course of this journey. It was heart breaking and full of the best twists and turns. Not everyone is who we think them to be and betrayal and lies end up ruling the day.

I’m really unsure of how to accurately rate this book. Somewhere probably in the 2.5-3 star range I guess. I try to review books pretty objectively so take this review how you want to. I really enjoyed the first book and its blend of contemporary and fantastical elements but for me, this sequel really fell flat in terms of execution. It probably also doesn’t help that I’m not the biggest fan of either male lead, but I do like the world and some of the supporting characters in addition to the overall premise of the story.
I really think this book could’ve done with some more editing specifically regarding pacing and the use of have three alternating points of view. I feel like the story seemed to drag on for a while (and to be honest was probably about 200 pages too long) and there seemed to be unnecessary details or focus on details that didn’t really matter in the grand scheme of the story. The three alternating POVs I felt were unnecessary especially since two of the characters were in the same location. There were some nice plot twists and action in certain parts but reading the book felt a lot like “hurry up and wait”…almost like a show that has way too many filler episodes between the major story arcs/plot points to where you forget what the heck is happening anyway.
I will say that the last 75-100 pages almost redeems some of issues I have with the book but it still comes up a little short. The ending of this book does have me wanting to know what happens in the next book, but it’s not really going to be high on my priority list/tbr.
I’m thankful that the author allowed me the privilege and opportunity to receive an ARC, but this book just wasn’t for me.

What I loved:
I am a huge fan of Elle Kish's work! Thank you to Elle and her team for this e-ARC. The first two books I listened to via audio, so this also impacted my reading speed of this book. This is book 2 in a series of the Traveler of Heart. We find out more about the overall world, the magic behind dragon bonding, and of the relationship between Wyatt ans Daphne.
What I found challenging:
As an avid romance reader, I love books with romance at the forefront. Romance is a subplot in this book. I found the political intrigue incredibly difficult to read, which is primarily why I took longer to finish this book. If you really loved The Cruel Prince, it was giving that type of vibe to the book. I wanted more romance elements, which weren't explored until much later in the book (like the last 5%).
I definitely want to listen and read more from this author, but I think I was expecting more romance from the book and less of the fantasy / political intrigue. That said, it's a logical bridge in this book series so it makes sense in terms of context.

Elle! I adore your writing style, but that cliff hanger tho 🫠😂
“She’s the world and I’m the moon lucky enough to be caught in her gravitational pull.”
”For the person I used to call home, it’s strange finding no sense of comfort in him.”
”Does he expect me just to pretend this is normal? He lied to me for eighteen years.”
”I won’t turn her into a monster for war. Daphne isn’t made for it. Her morals are so strong that she can’t even tell a good lie.”
”Wyatt can pretend it didn’t happen-that doesn’t mean I have to forget.”
”When he’s like this, being the man I knew, I can see it: staying here, being here with him again.”
”I never thought I’d be happier in ignorance than in learning I’d been stupid enough to be tricked over and over again.”
”Maybe he really does love me. Maybe we can make this work for the kids, at least? Stop it.”
”Since finding Daphne, my magic has been stronger, more primal, and harder to rein in when my emotions are high.”
”After all I’ve done, she deserves happiness with the person the gods chose for her.”
”Why are you so calm?” Because everything feels right with him here.
”Now that I’ve met you, I would choose you in every world. You’re my mate.”
”If I ever had to choose between the continent and Daphne, I’d let every kingdom burn if it meant having her.”

I was excited to return to the realm of Threa and reunite with Daphne, Silas, and the band of Azurite warriors in this second installment in the Traveler of Heart series. Readers of the first book and prequel novella remember that we were left on quite a cliffhanger, so I couldn't wait to see how this story would progress. Well, we were placed right back at that cliff edge only to painfully stay there for the majority of the book 😬
Unfortunately, this one was a miss for me. The pacing was off and it felt stagnant. I appreciated the multi-povs but it was a bit repetitive at times and I kept waiting for things to happen. While much occurs in terms of world building and character growth (I'm particularly proud of Wyatt), the bulk of the excitement didn't happen until the final 15% and by that point I was ready to wrap this up.
I will say there are a few plot twists, even one I didn't see coming. However, just when things are seemingly looking up, the you-know-what hits the fan and we're back dangling on a different cliff edge... the next book has to move faster if I'm going to continue reading this series.
Thank you to the author for an advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is book 2 in the Traveler of Heart series. I gave the first book 5⭐️. I loved that book, this was good but just like every second book didn’t keep up with the first one.
The cliff hanger in the first book kept me thinking about the second book. By the end of the book I wish Daphne would have killed off Wyatt. 😅
Also, TOH was under 400 pages which is the perfect page count for me with a romantasy. This one was almost 600 pages. I felt like on some parts I was slugging through it.
Now for everything I loved. Daphne really grew in this book. Maybe she need all 600 pages to do that. She is really showing that you don’t mess with a momma bear who wants to be with her child.
We are getting 3 different POVs from Daphne, Wyatt and Silas so you get to see everyone POVs and why they are doing what doing and their reasons.
The parts that are fast paced are sooo good I loved where this plot went and where it might be going. The magic system is really basic but that is perfect for me since I am not big on huge magic systems.

I recieved an advanced copy of this from the author. Thank you!!
We pick up with a small recap from The Traveler of Heart. Wyatt had to grow on me. If the love of my life, the father of my children, faked his death and then I found him riding dragons as a prince in another world - I'd be righteously torqued. Wyatt built their whole 18-year relationship on lies and secrets. His possessiveness and paranoia continue to grow, and it’s smothering Daphne and giving me anxiety.
Silas and his gang are required to recoup from the Reclaimer’s attack. Recovery takes a few interesting turns and a surprising, but maybe not surprising, backstab. *UUUGH!!
On a positive note, I do appreciate the nods to Daphne being a fantasy book reader. There are easter eggs, trope drops, and tidbits of helpful information that she's gleaned by reading fantasy books. It makes her relationship with the reader more intimate - like we could definitely be friends, and maybe she’ll invite me to her kingdom and give me a puppy dragon one day.
While I do appreciate a good dark fantasy, this story is a breath of fresh air. It’s fun, the characters are enjoyable, the themes are relatable (especially the two future kings fighting over me thing), and you’re kept on the edge of your seat. I enjoy the ‘fade to black’ aspect because I can recommend this to anyone without having to think about it. I would recommend this to a YA in a heartbeat!
The ending of this book has me waiting on pins and needles. Book three: I’m not sure when you will be released, but you can call me Richard Marx because I’ll be right here waiting for you.

I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Elle did her BIG one with TRP. For those who don’t know her, she is an indie author who writes fantasy and romantasy, and makes them feel so incredibly cozy. She knocked this one out of the park. She hit every single mark with such precision I’m shocked she’s still an indie author.
That being said, the twists in this installment were insane and truly some that I didn’t see coming. I love when a book can really serve up multiple gut punches that have you rereading a page because you are convinced you read it wrong the first time. That is exactly what this was. Daphne, Wyatt, Silas, all of the side characters… everyone is so multifaceted and they all feel so incredibly real.
And that ending? Please. I need the next one IMMEDIATELY.
“I’ve explored every landscape and natural wonder this world has to offer, and not one of them comes close to what I see when I look into her eyes. It’s like peering into the windows of the other half of my soul.”

I LOVED this book. Elle Kish has created an incredibly detailed, magical world with just enough familiarity that picturing the landscapes comes easily. Romance, magic, mystical creatures, lots of lore, a little bit of political intreigue and of course Puppy Dragons!!
Elle is a master of writing romamtasy, especially the way she writes the differences between Daphne and Silas' relationship and Daphne and Wyatt's. She perfectly displays the difference between Love and Obsession/Possession.
I inhaled this book in hours, eating up the "semi-4th-wall-breaking" nods to other popular Romantasy tropes (the heroine is a Romantasy reader too). Seeing myself so well reflected in a heroine is also a wonderful breath of fresh air.
But where this author really excels is the TWISTS!! Just masterful!! That last line will live in my head rent free until I eagerly devour her next offering. PLEASE don't make me wait too long to come back to Carimea!!
(I received an ARC copy of this book but all opinions are entirely my own)

Overall loved this book and how the story expanded! I enjoyed the multi-POV which was very necessary to get the full perspectives, motivations, and backstory for the characters. I enjoy when the psychology behind why people make the decisions they make is dove into in books. There’ve been some comments on the pacing the book but honestly I felt the pacing was appropriate considering the multi-POVs and my want for the explanations and whys.
Something I find myself incredibly thankful for in books (because many don’t do a good job of it so thank you Elle!) is being able to pick up in the middle of a series after not having read the previous book(s) for a long time and the book doing a good job of refreshing at the beginning. I am often a re-reader and feeling like I need to reread earlier books so that I’m not lost when the new book comes out. I read book 1 over a year ago and was hazy on the ending details but was easily refreshed and not lost reading the beginning chapters of this book.

OK, so here goes here is my very first review as an Arc reader.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first book and it was left on a cliffhanger so I was definitely ready to dive in with the second book slightly intimidated by the amount of pages, but I feel like Daphne the main character really needed to develop her emotions for us to come along for the ride. She has some tough choices to make in this book the other two main characters Silas and Wyatt also take you on emotional ride, pulling on your heartstrings, deciding who to cheer for and who not to like the lines were blurred.
I am a big dragons fan and there’s definitely more for that hunger in this book, but I am wholeheartedly sweet on the puppy dragons. I enjoyed this book, but felt like it was a little harder to keep my attention. But I needed to know how it ended and without giving a spoiler alert another cliffhanger so I will definitely be looking forward to reading the next book as I really do. Enjoy the characters.

Book Review⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you to @ellekishauthor and @bookedwiththeemilys for the #gifted book.
After that absolutely insane cliffhanger at the end of Traveler of Heart book one in this series, I couldn’t wait to dive into The Returned Prince—and it did not disappoint! I don’t think I’ve ever closed a first book in a series with my jaw on the floor quite like that, and this sequel had me hooked from the very first page.
One of my favorite moments came before the story even began with this quote from the author:
“It’s time to flip the script and start believing in the power of your own magic.” 💙 I absolutely loved that message, and it fit this story so perfectly.
I continue to love how unique this series feels. Blending romantasy with a contemporary setting makes for such a fresh and engaging read, and I found myself completely invested in the characters and the twists. I especially loved that the heroine is a 36-year-old single mom. It’s so refreshing to see a main character who isn’t a teenager or in her early twenties, and her life experiences added so much depth to the story.
The romance kept me guessing with the fated mates, love triangle, and prophecies woven throughout the plot, while the fade-to-black romance made this a great fit for readers who prefer closed-door stories. I also appreciated the ADHD representation, which added another meaningful layer to the characters.

Just to ground you, the book is the second book in the traveler of heart series and like most fantasy second books, this is heavy on world and plot building. It’s also heavy on political intrigue and per Elle Kish fashion will leave you on a killer twist.
I implore you to read the novella before this because the emotional rollercoaster that Elle takes you on with Wyatt is wild. I could not nail down my feelings for him. I love that we get to learn more about the world, the political intricacies between the families. I love where it leaves us with the relationship between the two at the end. Also that twist? Had me DMing the street team to spiral over it.
I did feel like the timeline felt long for the amount of days because it feels a lot long with how much happens. I also felt like the pacing in the first half was slower but by the 50% it hits full steam ahead. Elle is also continuously growing as a writer and I look forward to see what happens in book 3 👀
Thank you so much for the early ARC Elle Kish 🫶🏻

y’all. elle. damn girl, you cooked with this one!
the returned prince is the sequel to traveler of heart (and snapdragon, a sequel-prequel-in-between novella i highly recommend for the character lore!), about a widowed mother who falls into a fantasy realm at the cusp of war. the cliffhanger from the first book had me so exited to get into this one, and it did not disappoint. the world-building and lore gets deeper, i loved the three different povs, the character development for both old and new faces was so interesting to follow, it’s well written and an absolute page turner.
can’t wait for the next one, to get even deeper into these worlds, figure out the next cliffhanger (!!), and have another pretty book, this one with a phoenix on the cover..?

Will Daphne find her way home to her kids and bring them back to Threa? That is a great question. Read The Returned Prince to find out.
This story has so many twists and turns as many beings aren't what you expect. The lies and deceipt is so woven throughout. You don't know which characters to trust. It keeps you on your toes waiting for the other shoe to drop.
The bonds that tie Silas' family and friends to him are pronounced so when someone he feels is his family betrays him it cut deeps especially when they mean to harm Daphne.
Can't wait for Book 3 to see where the future leads them.

An excellent continuation of the Traveler of Heart series!
I loved having 3 POVs (thought I do wish we had more of Silas but that’s because he’s the best but I know we needed to let Wyatt speak a bit in this book lol). There were lots of twists and turns with lies and deception that kept me hooked throughout! And the last ~15% was !!!!!!!!!! I was so sat
I was excited to get more backstory on Daphne and Wyatt/Wyatt’s family. And we got so much more dragon time which I’m always here for!! And I’m so excited to see how the kids will handle Threa (so Elle if you’re reading this I need book 3 like yesterday)

Gahhh, the cliffhanger gets me every time!!!
•
It took me a while to get into this book with the slow start, but once I started to get a feel for the world again, the pace picked up! My favorite thing so far with this series has been the world-building for sure! Still unsure about how I feel about Daphne as a character, but she’s growing on me. This is advertised as a “love triangle”, but at least from the main characters POV, it’s pretty clear there’s not really a competition. lol! I really like where the plot is going, and am intrigued for the next book when it comes out!

This series is so good and you just don't want to put it down. I really feel like this wasn't an almost 600 page novel, it never got stale or slow for me. It was completely romance fantasy for this one and it was just amazing! The world building, character building, magic, mystical creatures, and politics are just FIRE!!! 🔥 Also who doesn't want puppy dragons?! I'm still not a fan of Wyatt and don't trust him at all. The love triangle between Daphne, Wyatt, and Silas had me feeling some way. The twists had me wondering what was going to happen next! That ending was completely shocking and I NEED THE NEXT ONE!!

Elle Kish’s series ‘Traveler of Heart’ is a true testament that woman can be more than just mothers, even when they are one. Daphne is real, raw, and still learning as she goes and there is something so incredible about going on this journey with her, watching her make mistakes, and learn what this new life has in store for her.
Now Wyatt. I truly thought I would would have stood 10 toes down on my dislike for that man, yet some how, Elle has changed my mind, showing us an entirely different side of him that makes you empathize with what he is also going through
Probably my favorite book in the series so far and I cannot wait to see what comes next for these characters

Thank you Author #@ElleKish for this advanced eARC of this book. I really enjoyed book one “Traveler of Heart” and the novella. I also enjoyed this story. No Spoilers. The FMC grew into such a likable woman. The FMC, Daphne grew strong and learned how to not doubt herself. She made a hard choice in Love and it was her choice. Daphne defeated her fears.
I do love all the magic in this story and the new word “Drefae”. “Returned Prince” has a cliff hanger. The cliff hanger is as good as the first books ending. Enjoy!!

It still has some cozy vibes but the stakes are much higher! I love the theme of nothing as black and white as we may think and perspective matters. Elle did a fantastic job at making me deeply feel things for all of the characters in one way other another. Many secrets and history of Threa were revealed but I am left with many more questions as the series continues! We got more dragons and other new revelations I won't mention as to avoid spoilers. Character development aligned well with the plot and political intrigue and set up for it to continue in the next book!

The Returned Prince is a high stakes, wonderfully romantic, richly detailed sequel that had me hooked from the very first chapter!
This novel tackles the love triangle trope in a unique and interesting way with longing, confusion, and raw emotions. Secrets are revealed, loyalties are tested, and readers will be left speechless with a mind blowing cliffhanger!
Elle Kish is a wonderfully talented writer with a real knack for blending fantastical elements with real world issues. I love this incredible series, and I'm sure other romantasy readers will, too!
