At Feral Academy, the most dangerous shifters in the system are sent to one place—Red House.
The feral ones.
The ones who can barely hold a human shape. The ones the academy isn’t sure can ever be rehabilitated.
And somehow… they’re reacting to me.
Gray is fighting the bond like discipline alone can break it. Leo lost control the moment we touched. RJ—the most unstable wolf in containment—barely speaks, but his eyes follow me everywhere.
Then I collide with a stranger in the lodge hallway.
The bond ignites instantly.
Turns out the new arrival isn’t another resident.
He’s the academy’s security consultant—the man brought in to watch me. The Review Panel is asking questions. And if they decide I’m destabilizing Feral Academy…
I won’t just be removed from the program.
I’ll disappear into a system designed for monsters that can’t be controlled.
The problem?
The wolves in Red House might be the only ones who can help me understand what I’m becoming.
If I can figure out how to bond with them before the academy decides I’m too dangerous to keep around.
Book 2 in the Feral Academy at Frosthaven series continues the dark paranormal reverse harem academy romance with feral wolf shifters, dangerous bonds, supernatural mystery, and a heroine discovering her power among the most unstable wolves alive.
Jaye Marellen has always believed Belle should have stayed with the Beast—because let’s be honest, the grumpy guy with claws was the best part of the story. She writes romances full of banter, heat, and a little bit of magic, where happily-ever-after doesn’t mean sanding off the rough edges. When she’s not dreaming up growly heroes and the women bold enough to love them, you’ll find her reading spicy stories, sipping too much coffee, and rooting for love stories with a twist.
Love the characters, love the pack she's building. Dislike the politics that weave into the decisions, thought Lumi and her pack would be more in charge than a board. Hoping she can save RJ and they can all recover together as pack. Waiting impatiently for the final book.
1 - She shifted and shifted back but she's not naked. Leo shifted and was naked when he shifted back. Why didn't it just mention a blanket? Or Leo giving her his shirt?
2 - In the first book she had 3 bonded mates. Now she's not really bonded to RJ??? Instead she instantly bonds with a stranger? In the last book she had 3 arcs on her wrist "almost making a complete circle".... but now her NEW 3rd arc is for the newest mate. Where did RJs mark go?
3 - She finds out she's an alpha and she's suddenly bossy. It's like her personality changed.
I'm just disappointed. It's like someone else is writing the story now. Way too many inconsistencies.
WARNING! CLIFFHANGER! This ends on a fairly traumatic cliffhanger, rating about a 4/5 on my trauma scale. You'll want to line up book three asap!
Alex has begun to bond with her mates, even as some new people arrive at Feral Academy. The powers in charge have no idea what to do with her, and the facility itself was never built to hold someone like her, which means they're watching her very closely.
This continues the story begun in the first book, and features appearances from Lumi, the heroine from Frosthaven North series and some of her mates. Alex is beginning to come in to her own, understanding more about who and what she is, and is getting to know her mates better. As a result, the reader too is beginning to understand these very enigmatic characters and where they are coming from.
It's an enjoyable story, and has a few spicy scenes in it- with several of Alex's bond mates. A fast read, it sets up the third story to bring everything together.
This book was really boring to read. It had no plot. People talked, insert sex scene, and then people talked again. You are telling me dalton didn't recognize his brothers face or scent? Even though he was 18 when he went missing. It seemed, and i could be wrong, that his brother was a part of the mountain pack. Yet theres nothing about how he went missing. And it is against the rules for them to break out and see eachother, it even risks being transferred, but they do it every night and they dont get caught? Even though they have having loud sex with security and security cameras around? There was no build up on any of their bonds. Honestly, it was written just like flat sex, no bond besides the marks. We dont even get to know the characters. I was bored skimming by the end. Like what is this book?
Finished the first book an hour ago and I'm already finished with the second. Although this book really is just way too short, this also shows how hooked I am.
I need more!! More of RJ himself, the bonds, figuring out what her designation means for everyone. I truly can't wait to read the next book and figure out what's next.
A good follow on with the relationships deepening and the bonds taking place. Alex learns more about herself and what happened when she was 14yo. It does feel like there isn't much happening though, its a slow pace. Everything is written very well, but the world outside of their pack doesn't seem to exist. I'm not sure if that's the point or not.
Frosthaven and the feral academy are not learning from their past mistakes. Bonds are strong! So why is Alex bonds being ignored? Stone has been where RJ is, where Lumi stabilize him, I believe Alex can do the same to RJ. She has 4 confirmed bonds and they are separating them.. ugh!!! Mistakes!!
The writing was a bit 'more' in this book. I don't want to say 'stilted' but that's kind of what it is. Maybe if I wasn't binging the series I wouldn't be as bothered. I'm still interested in the characters and moving onto the next book.
I thought the first book was good. Usually the second slows a bit. Nope. Intense. Powerful. Measured. The story becomes more with every breath. More is good. More is...more.
This second book in this series was so good. I love all the main characters and want more of them. The end broke my heart but I know there is more to come.
The tone of this book seems completely different than the first. There’s too much repetition within the story. Other than new unfinished bonds and smex nothing happens.
Oh this series has its claws in me... I never read any of the frosthaven books but I may just have to go backwards and read them because I really has me!
