I loved when Mabel was introduced in the first book of this series - Rebel Heart. Kelly truly knows how to make each character stand out and so unique in their own ways. Mabel has been through so much in her life and this short book about her goes into so much depth and detail — I couldn’t believe it was only 163 pages. Kelly packed so much devastation / heartbreak, hope, strength, and character building into this book. I absolutely loved Charley and Mabel’s friendship. That right there is a real friend through and through!!! We all need a Charley in our lives!

Mabel is such an amazing soul and doesn’t deserve the crap life she has to get through.

4.75⭐️ Star Read for me!!
Okay well Kelly is another author that I found that write stories I can’t put down. DEVOURED this book in one sitting. I am it even going to mention how fast I read it.
I fell in love with Mabel’s character from “Rebel Hearts” which happens to be book one in this series. She is sassy, sarcastic, lovable, and freaking strong willed. Basically my kind of people, so when I was lurking 👀 to know more about the this series I was elated to find out Mabel got her own novella.
Let me just say that this story does not disappoint!!! I enjoyed Mabel’s back story and when I was done I was like…

I’m so happy Mabel from the Rebel Heart series got her own novella!
Getting Mabel's backstory added so much depth to her character. She's strong and guarded, but underneath it all she just wants to belong. Her story was raw, emotional, and honestly heartbreaking at times. I couldn’t put this down!
You do have to read Rebel Heart (book 1) before reading this novella.

A slice of Mabel's earlier years, I devoured this in a few days (would have been faster if I wasn't traveling). I love this character even more now, and hoping to see more of Charley.

Mabel, my girl! From the moment she appeared on the page in Rebel Heart, I knew Mabel was going to be my favorite. I’m
so thankful that we were given the chance to get her story and build a stronger connection because she’s such a strong, complex character! Even though she struggled to find her place in her story, she absolutely found it in my heart!

I could not put this one down!!!
If you haven’t already read Rebel Heart, go do that first and then come back and prepare yourself to truly understand Mabel.
This story was an emotional gut punch. It filled me with so much angst and heartache for Mabel and everything she endured in her upbringing.
Getting to know her younger self added such depth to her character. She’s sarcastic, quick-witted, and guarded… but underneath it all is a soft-hearted girl who just wants to belong.
And that? That’s what got me.
She made me fall in love with her and broke my heart at the same time…all in just 163 pages.
I am both excited and anxious to continue this journey and cannot wait to get to know more of the characters.

READ THIS BOOK IN ABOUT 4 HOURS!!! I could not put this book down!! Beautifully written to where I could see everything so vividly in my head and really feel the characters emotions!! I had so many tears in this book, sad, angry, happy it has all the tears! I am really hoping for revenge and for someone to get what is coming to them!!
I loved that there was a bonus chapter to see the reunification with Mabel and Olivia from Mabel’s point of view.
I LOVED the friendship of Charley and Mabel. It made me think of my friendships growing up and the fact that even the best of friends can grow apart as the years go by.
I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series.

This novella about Mabel? Pure emotional sabotage in the best way. It sinks its teeth in and doesn’t let go.
Mabel’s story hurts… the kind of hurt that lingers, because you feel how unfairly life plays her. She absolutely got the short end of the stick, but instead of breaking, she sharpens into something fierce. Watching her transform into that unapologetic, take-no-prisoners version of herself? Completely addictive.
And Tony? Yeah. No redemption arc needed. Just… no.
I’m already counting down to the next book because I need more of this world!

I adore Mabel and was so happy to get a novella of her back story! But be prepared because this entire Novella is a very emotionally charged book. They are very real, raw and sad experiences that she goes through. But there is a beauty in it all and a beautiful friendship that comes out of it.
