Her name was Emme. Girl next door, thrill-seeker, open and eager for everything she could learn from my club, Command Performance. Everything she could learn from me. Sensations she could only imagine in her wildest fantasies. Acts of submission that would change her forever.

But she’s playing me. A level one candidate is playing me. A neophyte.

I might laugh except I’m intrigued. It’s been so long since anyone’s caught my attention.

Emme submits. Obeys.

Yet challenges me at the same time. Her brightness calls to something dark in my soul, shines light into a past best left unexplored.

But how is that even possible?

No one gets that close. My past is my past. Dark. Lethal. Hellish. I am what I am.

I warned her. The rest is up to her.

4 Stars for Nick J. Russo's Performance
Ace: The Club #2 is the second novel in the series, but I didn't read the first one and had no trouble following along. Jenna Elliot is a new author for me, and I've got to say they write mighty fine erotica. The D/s scenes in this one are really well done.

Emme is an interesting character. A combination of submissive and self-confidant woman, I really liked her. A strong friend, and a powerful self advocate, Emme is well done. Ace is pretty superficial, but if we meet him in the first novel of the series then I could be wrong about his character development and I apologize. There's a nice supporting cast of characters. Emme's family is great.

I listened to this one specifically to see how Nick J. Russo narrates an M/F romance (yes, I've never heard him do one so I was curious). Got to say, I'm really impressed. This is a side to him I haven't seen before, and I've listened to him perform over 50 M/M romance audiobooks. There's no mistaking it when he gets the characters.

an audiobook copy of Ace was provided to me for the purpose of my honest review

Received an ARC for review

It was good but lacked that intense sexual chemistry. Don't get me wrong the sex was good, but there was just something missing. I think part of my problem was that Emma was too happy at the club. You'd think part of the drama in her life would leak over into her while she was there. I do look forward to Jak's HEA, and maybe will go back and read her BFF's.

The Club: Ace, Book 2 of The Club Series, Jenna Elliot
Genre:  New Adult, Romance.
Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
I love the drama that comes with New Adult books, and this had it in spades. Emme, she’s had a knock back when she caught her ex cheating on her, but picked up threads of her old life, pre the ex, and re-joined a sex club. She was a level one, now she’s applied for level two in Ace’s club. He oversees her training for the first day, and there’s something about her that has him rearranging things so he can have the next three Fridays with her, training alone.....
He’s hot, seriously hot, but Emme tells herself its his job, and she’s just out for fun. She really is someone who’s full of the joie de vivre of life, sees the upside of everything, and she’s a real pleasure for someone jaded about life like Ace. He’s used to women throwing themselves at him, and though it’s all supposed to be fun for him it gets boring. He’s a real cynic, life is just for fun, serious relationships just drag people down, and he’s not interested in one. He doesn’t date, doesn’t need to with all the sex he wants at the clubs...he spends his year traveling round the world, seeking out hedonistic please all the while. There’s something about Emme though....
Somehow they end up very quickly in more personal sessions, with the second one taking place in one of his flats, the one above the club,  and the third on his yacht, after his colleague and Emme’s best friend get married there. Its clear to everyone they are kidding themselves when they say its just sex, nothing personal. Then something happens and bam – poor Emme is in danger, distraught and fleeing for her life. She’s  hiding from everyone for safety, but its a tough few weeks for her watching her back all the while, and very lonely with no contact with anyone. She’s frightened though, and its the best way she can think of until whoever is threatening her, who trashed her car and home is found. . Its time for decisions all round. That part worked really well for me, not one of those over in two pages moments, but one that’s treated as a major part of the story and given full length to play out.
Stars: Five, I thought this was going to just be a quick, erotic read, but in fact it is that – and so much more. The drama gives it a real feeling of danger, of suspense and makes it more than just the hot, sexy read it first appears.

After a painful breakup with her boyfriend Jason, Emme decides she is ready to take on a new, challenging adventure on the second level at the club. But fist she must pass a series of tests given by the oh so sexy club owner Ace.

Despite the instant chemistry between the two, Ace is a complicated man, shadowed by an secret past. He doesn't do relationships and after a painful breakup with Jason, Emme isn't looking for anything more than a good time.

Its all win-win for the first weeks until things get complicated... Now not only has ex boy friend Jason returned begging to be taken back but a stalker begins shadowing Emme's every move, disrupting her life.

So what happens to Ace and Emme when the shadows of both their worlds collide? Will life push them together or tear them apart?

I have to say, sometimes it is just hard writing reviews without giving to much away.

Anyway, this book was sizzling HOTT!! I surprisingly enjoyed Emme's submissive attitude, which was actually refreshing coming of the rebellious Mia in the previous book. I think Ace's playful side was also a nice change, since so many of these type of books are oh so serious.

I did feel this book was missing something though.. while it touched all the main points, its slow to start (dragging in some areas) and then quick to end.. Basically 0-60 about 75% into this book. Now that I think of it.. I guess that is how Ace rolls!

Overall this is a good read for anyone wanting a good, fun, lightly suspenseful, and yet steamy, read.
I've enjoyed this series and can't wait till Jax is released.

Wow! Hot hot hot.! This was a very steamy story. It was a very descriptive and through in every chapter. I love a book that keep going chapter through chapter and not wanting to put it down. It also had a great story line to go with all that steaminess. I believe this is book 2 in the series. Book one is out and 3 is not out yet. This can be easily read as a stand alone book. Although i am interested in going back to read number 1 and cant wait for the third to come out now. I would definitely recommend this book.

Jenna Elliot has a way with words, they pull you right into the story without a chance to look back.

Ace had me from page 1, emotionally stunted dominant playboy that knows his way around a can of whip cream. Throw in Emme, light and happieness, she doesn't let her issues bring her down and truly grasps the meaning of submission. This is a couple made for each other, even if there were a few bumps in the road.

Upside: Ace is an upside in every way! Masterful sexual scenes, deep emotional levels, and a little bit of intrigue thrown in.

Downside: there really are none.

Emme and Ace. He was a tawny lion. She was joy. He needed that joy. And remember crap happens. Even when you think it is covered. Yes. I would and will read more.

The Club: Ace by Jenna Elliot
Book #2: The Club Series
Source: Purchase
My Rating: 3/5 stars
My Review:
Yet again, I find myself on the fence with this series. Round two of Jenna Elliot’s The Club series features Ace and Emme, one tragically broken man and a woman who brings light to every single corner of his world.

When he’s at the club, Ace is the life of the party. He commands an audience each and every time he walks onto the floor of the club’s second level. He trains new initiates in the ways and rules of the club’s second level and without exception, he doesn’t get close to any of the people who adore him. In fact, Ace is well known for for both his sexual prowess and his ability to remain completely detached. Men and women alike want him, but those same men and women know they’ll only have Ace for a brief amount of time and then he will move on to his next lay.

Emme is the perfect sub and from the very moment Ace realizes this, he knows she is different than any woman he has ever encountered. Training Emme is pure pleasure and having sex with her is beyond anything Ace has every experienced. Given his career and lifestyle, that’s certainly saying something. Emme should have been just another trainee, but Ace can’t seem to get her out of his head and before he knows it, she is becoming involved in his life outside of the club. Ace can’t quite figure out how it’s happened, but he quite likes having Emme around and isn’t at all looking forward to the time when he must let her go. But, let her go he must because historically, anyone who has gotten close to Ace has met a tragic end. Yeah, Ace has a unquestionably awful past.

While she’s at the club, Emme can let go of all the fears, worries, and frustrations that populate her day to day life. She knows the club is temporary, a place she can sow some wild oats before implementing her “real” life plan. The “real” life plan includes not having to worry about money constantly, a husband who loves and adores her (and won’t cheat on her!), and an incredibly large number of children. Nowhere in her “real” life plan does it say, “Fall for a dom at a sex club who is without doubt unattainable and the best sex I’ve ever had in my entire life.” The “real” life plan has also left out “Be stalked and terrorized by a crazy person to the point I have to leave town without a trace.” While she tries to keep her real life and her club life separate, Emme finds the two overlapping with great regularity. She doesn’t want to drag Ace into her drama, but he doesn’t seem to want to go away either. That is, until the moment Emme drops the one bombshell that send him running for the hills and paying her off to disappear from his life for good.

The Bottom Line: I think I enjoyed this read. How’s that for certainty?? Without doubt, I liked Emme and I liked the naughty bits. Ace is the one character that has me on the fence. Emme really is light and fun, but her life is sort of a mess. She’s got an a%^hole of an ex, an apparent stalker, and feelings for a man she intellectually understands isn’t a long-term prospect. Until the moment she just can’t, Emme tries to make the best of her situation and go with the flow. It’s the moment Ace breaks her that is the most heartbreaking in this read. Ace isn’t all that complicated, he’s just stubborn and an absolute d*$k when he feels the need to retreat and protect himself. Most of the time I liked Ace, but there are few instances in which his behavior made me hate him with a fiery passion. To be sure, he redeems himself in the end, but his bad moments are incredibly bad and designed to hurt Emme, the one character I thoroughly enjoyed. Now you see my dilemma.  As with the first book, the naughty bits are steamy and exciting and the ending comes so quickly that one is reminded of a virgin’s first time. In all, I remain on the fence about this book and series, but there is nothing so significant to keep me from reading the third and final book, Jax.

This is the 2nd book in a series centered around 3 partners of a club. The first book about Ethan/Mia was more about the first level membership of their sex club (mild) and this story about Ace/Emme is the 2nd level membership (a bit racier). Ace/Emme were featured in the first story and I liked that Ethan and Mia continued their relationship in this one. In fact, I really liked how Mia appeared quite a bit in support of Emme and likewise. Sometimes series from the same world tend to drop the previous characters or you get a token scene or two. Their unconditional support for each other really comes through during this book.

I read a few of the other reviewers and most seem to like Ethan/Mia's story better. I actually like this one the most and was surprised I felt that way. Although I did like Ethan/Mia, I never felt emotionally connected to either as most of the book was them getting their frisky on. I felt much more connected to Emme and what she was going through with Ace and her predicament. The "predicament" or suspense/stalker/mystery story line kept me intrigued and helped to break up their Friday night encounters by adding a little more substance than their friskiness. It wasn't too hard to figure out the culprit, but it helped to drive the drama and intensity for Emme. One scene absolutely broke my heart and I couldn't stop myself from re-reading it .

Sure there was a bit of insta-love when you calculate the time they actually spent together (3 Friday nights, so approximately 24+ total hours with each other), but it didn't keep me from becoming emotionally invested with their outcome. The end felt a little rushed, but I'm hopeful it's similar to Ethan/Mia's story and we'll see a lot more of their relationship develop.

I truly was surprised how much I liked Ace's story since I didn't really like/dislike him from the first book. After reading that story, I was much more intrigued with Jax's story. It's up next and his heroine is introduced in this book. Interestingly, she appears to be a bit of a different heroine than Mia/Emme, so I'm interested to see how that plays out.

I received a copy of this story through NetGalley from the author/publisher for an honest review.

I just LOVED it - extremely ADDICTIVE escapism!!
I don't often read new adult romance but every so often one will reel me in and THE CLUB: ACE was one of those books I just couldn't put down!!
Even though this was the middle book in the series I became addicted. I will definitely be checking out the rest: the Club had me intrigued, the main characters had me itching to discover their stories too and well, I just plain like the author's captivating style of writing that allows you to get inside their heads.
Both Ace and Emme are intriguing characters with a wealth of emotional baggage and family dynamics where the topic of friendships vs acquaintances only helps to fuel their conflicting outlooks. Emme is grounded in practicality and emits positivity in waves thanks to the close support of family and the sweetest most loyal best friend ever. While Ace, oozing with charisma and confidence on the surface, is struggling not to drown in the dark secrets of his past as he forces himself to remain distant emotionally. Yet both are passionate, use hot, steamy sex as an escape, have electric chemistry and so much more going on beneath the surface that ultimately makes for an enjoyable read. Especially as sparks of fascination built to understanding, connection and much needed love.
The first half radiates heat, tension and steam from sizzling to whistling boiling point proportions yet it's the intense connection on an emotional level that kept me reading. Even despite the plot shift down a path I wasn't expecting, in the latter half of the book, I never lost interest. The drama became hyped up by betrayal, peril and unexpected consequences to pop the fantasy bubble and invade it with realities beyond the intense sexual attraction, exploration and unexpected connection the pair had in spades.
An extremely enjoyable read- LOVED it!!

I received an ARC for an honest opinion.

I started reading this book earlier and didn't put it down until I finished...I guess that means I liked it. I loved it!

Having read Jenna Elliot's The Club:Ethan, I was very happy when the opportunity came up to read it.

I think this story was even better than the first. Ace is a very intense man and he didn't let on about anything personal. His parents were killed when he was young so he feels like anyone he loves dies. Emme was just the opposite. She loved life and saw good wherever she looked.

He knew Emme was different. He could see "her light", he could feel it. He would never admit to it though. From the minute he took on her training at the club, she changed his life.

Emme was being stalked. Her apartment had been broken into and trashed and her car destroyed. When he found out about the first incident, her apartment, he asked her why she didn't tell him about it and she told him "you don't want to know anything about my life" and I think that started the cracks in his armor...because he did want to know. Then at Ethan & Mia's wedding he meet her family.

Then something happens to really test them, a shock for both of them. Will they survive?

This book is a little over 200 pages but there is certainly a lot packed into it! The characters are awesome and the sex is wicked hot. Emme has a great family., so great that her mom and dad considered Mia (her best friend since grade school) their 8th child.

I would definitely would recommend this book! Ace is so intense that you can almost feel it but yet when Emme made him laugh a whole other person emerged. It's amazing what can happen in 3-4 weeks.

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review
Ace is a partner in the club Command Performance. He likes to break in new members to Level 2. The story starts with him starting Emme's trial into Level 2. Unlike other members, Emme seems to enjoy everything for the enjoyment of it. Not to appease a dark side like most of the members, including Ace. There's something about her and her enjoyment that sooth's Ace's dark side and makes him want more than just a play thing. Outside of the club, Emme is the girl next door. She just finished her schooling to be an Accountant. She attends Sunday dinners with her family. What she doesn't need is the complications that occur whenever she's been with Ace.
This book starts out very hawt. The scenes with Emme and Ace were very steamy and for most of the book, I liked the interactions and budding feelings between the two.
While at first I thought Emme was written a bit too naive, as the story progressed, I really liked that she wasn't and that she was actually strong-willed and willing to do what it takes to protect herself. Ace was a pretty standard bad boy with a dark soul. I really liked how the author wrote the growing irresistibility he had towards Emme. The only thing I didn't care for was the ending. It was fairly predictable and felt kind of rushed. Still, I'd definitely recommend this book and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

ARC provided by Netgalley in exchange for a honest review.

Ace and Emme have chemistry boiling off the page. While I liked the first book with Ethan and Mia, I didn't really feel a connection to them. The relationship with Ace and Emme is dynamic and inspiring both in the bedroom and outside of it. Though both of them have their own issues they are both able to be strong on their own and learn from their mistakes. The love they have for each other is page melting. Mixed in with some of the hottest erotic scenes I've read to date and you have the makings of a truly great book.

Jenna Elliot does a great job of starting with a broken shell of a man and letting us watch him grow and mature. Each additional supporting caste just brings more intrigue and life into the story. Being able to see the wedding between Ethan and Mia brings a really great closure to their story. We even get to see more glimpses of Jax and now I can't wait for his story to come out.

If you are a fan of erotica with an actual storyline and a great writing style I would definitely suggest that you pick up this book. Just don't make my mistake and try to read it at work. It might make for some interesting questions when your boss peaks over your shoulder!

I liked this book a lot more then the first. I loved Ace and Emme. They fit together just right. Emme is a carefree happy person looking to enjoy what goes on at the club. Ace caught her eye in the first book and she finally get a chance with him. Ace is extremely closed off. He lets himself start to fall for Emme with out realizing he is.

Just after the half way part something happens and Ace turns into a real jerk. I wanted to slap him!I was happy when Jax and Ethan slapped some sense into him. He turned out to be an amazing guy. I was happy when he finally opened up to Emme about his childhood and what happened to his parents.

My only complaint is that the story ended a bit abruptly. I thought the same with Ethan and Mia's book and was happy to see we got a bit more of them in this book, so it helped complete the last book. I hope we see the same in Jax's story. I feel that Ace and Emme need a bit more of a send off then what they got. So far they have been my favorite couple in this series.

Look forward to reading Jax's story!

I have received this book as an ARC from Net Galley for my honest review and honestly if you liked the first book in this series you are going to love this one!

Jenna Elliot held nothing back in this book it is a very well written romance story packed with sexual tension, sexual frustration and sexual exploration. Ace brings Emme on an emotional sexually exciting roller coaster ride that any woman would love to jump on. Emme is 100% herself and Ace loves every second of it.

This is the 2nd book that I have read from this author and I find myself enjoying Jenna Elliot's writing style. When I read this first book I had a moment of hmmm I feel like one big question was not answered but in the beginning of Ace's book the answer about a decision that Ethan had to make was right there for all to see.

This book right now is selling on Amazon for 2.99 it is worth every penny and so much more. I recommend this book and this author. Great job Jenna Elliot!

I received this free eARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Ya know... These books are good. But they are just missing something, I think. It might be the characters and the way they act around each other. At least with Mia and Ethan there was tension and chemistry flying around when Mia was challenging Ethan.

But with these characters, Ace and Emme, it's almost like they are disconnected from one another and they are just thinking about each other when the mood strikes. They are so different from each other in the way of sexual appetites and it doesn't really mess well, in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong, the sex is hot and steamy and could set anyone's pants on fire. But the characters needed more of a connection with each other for me to get more involved in the story.

Ace, he's complicated and it's sometimes not in a good way, other times he's charming and gives mixed signals, "you just respond to me with total abandon." Another chuckle. "I'm good at what I do. But your trust, your passion, is amazing." Sometimes he gets so worked up and it's not the most convenient places, "the only thing I'm hiding is my hungry d***," he growls." Remember when I said he can be complicated in bad ways what I meant to say was he could be a total a**, "you forgot something." He growls, shoving the check into the neckline of my blouse. "Don't come back. I never want to see you again." This book had it's ups and downs but overall I enjoyed it, some scenes did make me uncomfortable but I kept on trucking.

I have to say I think Ethan and Mia a bit more. The sex scenes were great, but the relationship between the two sort of felt like it lacked chemistry a bit or something important from the story. We got to see Ethan's transition to falling for Mia, but with Ace and Emme...it sorta lacks a bit.

It is there I promise you can see Ace become possessive and want her more than he should but there is not really much else. Emme is a great character. No matter what she is going through, she still struggles to do it on her. From her feelings with Ace, to her ex, to her family, and her unsuspecting surprise, to Mia. There is so much and I honestly enjoyed it. I can't wait for Jax.

Ahh well I think I would have to agree with the other reviewers on Goodreads.
The first book was more, if you catch my drift. This missed the mark by a smidge.
The characters were good and I enjoyed reading it, but they still lacked the intense chemistry. Of course they had tons of sexual chemistry. The sexy scenes were sexy. The relationship between them isn’t like the emotional kind when we see that they fall head over heels of one another. Both were indecisive about what to feel for one another, but over all I like the book just wish it were more.

I really enjoyed this one. I was worried that not having read Mia and Ethan's story would get in the way, but I worried for nothing. Ace and Emme were completely perfect and perfect for each other. Their chemistry was off the charts and they were so adorable. I loved how much Mia looked after Emme and how the guys were able to get through Ace's darkness. I was a little confused about Audrey's role in this story...perhaps she is going to be the one for Jax? I will say that if this is the second level of the club, I'm already clutching my pearls at level three.
