I had no idea what to expect and so I went into my first venture with Lilith Lo with an open mind. OH BOY! I was shocked by the 4th paragraph and had to reread and really focus on the words.
It's a really short read, but it packs an amazing punch. Clean, clear and vivid writing helps it feel like a longer story than it really is. A married couple that have hit a wall of sorts is faced with a choice. Well it's more of a dare really.
A smart and clinical woman has to choose to let herself go and venture into the darker side of sex with her husband. His desires fuel her bravery and let her finally loosen up. I held my breath through most of their encounter. I felt every edge of daring in his voice and don't even get me started on the heat that built between them.
Reading about the wife's heightened arousal and lust made it a tangible and delightful thing. This may have been my first Lilith Lo read, but it most definitely will not be my last. My only complaint...I wish there were more. I have to say that it's extremely satisfying to read about an established and loving couple that still want to venture into new and steamy ventures.
