When kings go to war, everyone bleeds.

Atlantic City has always belonged to Roman Giorlando—until the Vincinos decided it should belong to them. The Devil’s Aces are caught in the middle of a feud that doesn’t end with money… it ends with bodies. And the harder Blackjack fights to keep his people alive, the more the war demands a price he can’t afford.

After a failed abduction, it becomes Roman's turn for retaliation. But when that retaliation then leads to a bold and bloody attack, the Devil’s Aces are dragged further into a war that doesn’t care about rules, mercy, or collateral damage.

When hostages become currency, this stops being about territory and starts being about the people you refuse to lose.

The Vincinos don’t want a truce. They want a kingdom, and they'll burn everything to get it.

But when it comes to playing with fire, nobody dances closer to it than the Devil’s Aces.

Ride hard. Die free. Burn Forever.

In this war, survival isn’t victory. It’s just the beginning.

Blackjack, book two of the Devil’s Aces MC by William Joseph

5+⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3.3 🌶🌶🌶

Sir, the audacity to put me through so many emotions in so few pages is staggering...

Being the prez of a MC should come with some great benefits, but no one really talks about the flip side. How your brain never shuts down, you're always on alert and thinking about every possible outcome. Your brothers/sisters depend on you to lead them with the best plan and outcome. Knowing at any minute, any second, one of them might never come home is enough to send you to an early grave.

Blackjack is such a steady foundation in this book. He has seen far too much and dealt with even more. Guilt is a second skin, regret a cloak, constantly questioning if he is good enough to lead the Devils Aces, yet never once resenting that he is. This man is an incredible example of steady presence... But don't let that fool you, when the time calls for action, Alice will be the first to arrive, locked, loaded, and fueled by controlled chaos. Second chances are rare, he knows he's had more than his share to get them... And he'll do anything to keep them this time.

If Blackjack is the spine, Lady Liberty is the heart. She runs the Shore Vipers with enough brass to build a wall, and that's just what she's going to do. Protect her girls at all cost, bring them home and start all over again the next day... Her past hasn't been pretty, pain and heartbreak have never been one to skip out. Yet all this time, she's never forgotten him. She's watched him grow from the hot headed lit fuse to a steady and calculating force. Being drawn into this war was never part of the plan, but Vipers don't quit when it gets hard... If only certain parts of the past would stay buried.

Together, this pair is something ethereal. Strength beyond measure, knowledge and experience above anything you could ever imagine enduring. The unity they bring is not just in the clubhouses. Having history is not a fine line, it's razor wire.

I have never had a book tip me from one end of the emotional scale to the other quite like this one, and I am still not okay. The heat is fantastic, and it adds just the perfect little cherry on top of an explosive plot that has everything you need. The tension, the action, the build up... It's all so intense and fueled me to rip through the pages at an alarmingly fast pace. I'm beyond ready to see where book three takes us next!

With each book I delve deeper into this insanely detailed world, with all of its beauty and grit, highs and lows, love and hate... I have become quite attached to these characters. They love hard, fight harder, and Never. Back. Down.

Blackjack

OMFG! This book is terrifying in a way that shakes your very soul. What I loved about this book is that the author gives you chapters from all the key players in the book not just Blackjack, although the book is technically about him. There is a mafia/cartel fight going on and the Devil’s are in the middle of it siding with Roman Giorlando. After Tesauro Vincino kidnaps Roman’s wife and daughter in book 1, Roman retaliates by taking Sofia - Tesauro’s youngest daughter in book 2. All chapters are in first person and give you an insight into each persons psyche. This is not necessarily a good thing lol. But only because you get to feel all the angst, heartache, evilness and everything else that they are feeling. Now, that being said, I’m a completely devastated by this book! Almost from the very beginning, you don’t want to stop reading because there is such an underlying tension and suspense in the writing that has you chewing off fingernails and yelling at your husband to just let you finish this chapter!! This book is going to blow your mind and leave you breathless and heartbroken. But the writing is so good and the storyline is so intense and so after all of that, ya - I highly recommend reading this book!! I freaking loved it and simultaneously hated it at the same time — but mostly loved it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
