Six months ago, the most dangerous man in New York told me to disappear.
So I did.
New name. New state. New life in a town so small it doesn't even have a Target.
I traded penthouse views for scrubs at a dentist's office and a car old enough to vote.
I put Ransome Rozanov behind me, along with everything he showed me about himself—and about what I'd let him do to me.

I was doing fine.
Until I made one stupid, reckless mistake.
A late-night login for one teensy little peek at a system I should have forgotten—because I still can't get that man out of my blood.

Unfortunately, that ping told him exactly where I am.

Now, Ransome's men are circling my grocery store in blacked-out SUVs, and the Bratva pakhan himself just stepped out of a rental car in the middle of Montana.

He's looking at me like I stole something that belongs to him.
Which, technically, I did.

Because the secret I've been carrying for six months?
It's his.

And according to Ransome, a Rozanov heir doesn't grow up in a small town with bear locks on the trash cans.
He grows up in the family.

Which means I'm going back to New York.
Back to the world I barely survived, and the man who still owns every part of me.

There's just one small
He got married while I was gone.

VICIOUS INNOCENCE is Book 2 of the Rozanov Bratva duet. The story begins in Book 1, VICIOUS OBSESSION.

She was a doormat. He literally got married to another woman, put her pregnant a$$ in his other house and doesn’t tell her. She finds out from the wife visiting her and telling her. He comes over, faces no consequences, they have sex….that kinda tells you the rest of where this story is going. Complete trash. Not sure where all these great reviews are coming from. Pls don’t waste your time like I did.

Another messy half to the duet. I really should stop reading this author—I never seem to like her style. The Bratva men are weak and don’t have strategic bone in their body. Too many “well duh” moments.

2.5⭐️ this really didn’t need to be 2 books and felt it was dragged out. The characters weren’t overly likeable and most of the time the mml was a pr8ck and the fml was annoyingly frustrating.

• Spelling & grammar issues again.

• The fml has no sense of awareness, she sees a strange man hanging outside her bedroom window, (which is on the 2nd level of the house) And yet she never said anything to her bf the mml.

• The fml doesn’t seem to respect herself and is ok accepting scraps from the mml seeing as he has a wife.

• The fact that she can be distracted by sex when her sibling is having issues blows my mind.

• The FML is one of the most stupidest characters I’ve ever read about.
Knowing she is in danger, she leaves her secure house to go and buy Thai food with her friend and oh what a shocker, they get kidnapped!!

• I thought Tristan had 2 brothers? Yet later on he was a lone child. Then went back to having brothers again.

DNF @ 37%

just when you thought the FMC couldn’t get any more stupid (she literally created a new identity & disappeared from the MMC’s life only to log in to her old work account for no discernible reason, which led to the MMC finding her), she let the MMC convince her it wasn’t a big deal that he hid the fact that he married someone else while she was gone 🫥 and proceeded to have unprotected sex with him before even learning he hadn’t slept with his wife 🫥

First of all this title makes zero sense.
Docking one star for going soft where we could have had some spicy conflict.
One more for our MMC being a bit of a douche canoe. The redemption arc could have been better.

the worst Bratva book I have read

This book had so many inconsistencies in the story line. Things that would never happen in a Bratva story. The characters were annoying in the emotional maturity. And a lot of redundancy this story should have been one book! The story and development was dragged out way too long. And the ending was way too short and made no sense.

1/5 because I can't give a 0
Wtf did I just read? 🤢 This is the shittiest book I've read in a long time.
The MMC got married and is in a fu**ing the FMC because she's pregnant with his child.
I'm frustrated 😡😡because the first book was good until the author decided to ruin the story in the second book, also she doesn't know how to write about Mafia men. The MMC is a pakhan but doesn't act like one.

The second installment of the Rozanov bratva was equally as good as the first.

Amara is in a backwater town at the opposite side of America she's working in a dentists office and is now 6 months pregnant.... she's trying to move on from Ransome but it's hard and one night she caves and logs into her old work account expect that pings her location to him. When he finds out she's pregnant he goes to get her and find out if the baby is his heir, he's still angry at amara even though he never listened to her about what happened but when he sees her and she faints he starts to worry. He tries to force her to come with him but when she gets upset he relises he needs to try from her side so he explains his fear for her and the baby and how wants her to be safe and have the best care. He lets her believe that when there in New York again it will be them two together, he convinces her family and her it's for the best even though gianni is ready to beat Ransome up after the way he treated her. What Ransome forgets to mention is the small matter of his wife....jenica who knows he only holds a torch for amara and is not happy when she finds out that amaras back. They don't love each other in fact they can't stand each other but when amaras in danger, Tristan's circling and Jenica and Ransome want there own lives can they work together to get what they both want? Freedom to choose.
Amara finds out pretty quickly about jenica at first she's livid but she understands ransomes prediciment and they deal with it until amara starts feeling like the dirty little secret cooped up so they have it out and she ends up getting to have her job back a job she loves and starts going out with electra again. Electra has a new boyfriend and amaras worried he sounds like a walking red flag. I clicked pretty quickly who the boyfriend was and spent the remainder of the book practically shouting "open your eyes and connect the darn dots"

When trouble finds her will Ransome be able to save them? With jenicas help maybe.

The alpha bosshole? He just needed the right woman let's hope he can keep her.

Ransome and Amara's Story

This is a very entertaining duet about a billionaire Pakhan in waiting in book 1/Pakhan in book 2 Ransome Rozanov and his personal assistant, Amara Parker.
Ransom is CEO of a major O&G company by day and Bratva leader after hours.
Amara is totally obsessed with Ransome as his assistant, with obsession growing into love. She agrees to fake date him but it isn't fake to her.
The Rozanovs have been at war for generations with another Bratva family. Lies, feared disloyalty causes Ransome to banish Amara from his life before she can tell him she is pregnant.
Book 2 picks up 6 months later with Amara and her siblings living quietly in Montana. Ransome finds her and brings her back to NY without telling her that he is married to the enemy's daughter for a truce.
The story gets very complicated but always thrilling. Amara's friend Electra is a nuisance and always gets her in trouble.
Through both books, I kept asking why Amara didn't have 24/7 security. Ransome was Pakhan - he certainly had the staff and he was extraordinarily rich.
This is an excellent duet, well written, and always entertaining for all 1,000 pages.
I did not particularly enjoy the extended epilogue. I was disappointed that Amara would keep her secret for so long from Ransome and then just blurt it out in front of the whole family and friends. I thought that their relationship was more special than that.

I loved reading this one. It starts out in Montana where Amara and her 3 siblings have not only started a new life, but with new identities altogether. However, it isn't long before their cover is blown and Ransome shows up to retrieve Amara and take her back to NYC.

It was a total page turner. I wanted to keep going to see what was going to unravel next. I loved that we saw more interactions between Ransome, Baron, and Maverick. I also loved that we finally saw the soft side of him!! I felt like Amara lost a little bit of herself in this book. She was no longer the uber confident, blantant disobedient, on top of everything girl we saw in book 1. She became emotionally dependent, less situationally aware, and made some really rash decisions. But I feel like that was important to show the impact of what Ransome's decision to send her away in the first place did to her.

There's not quite as much mystery as their was in the first book. The "big reveal" towards the end was pretty much totally obvious by the first 20% of the book. However, it didn't lessen my desire to keep reading to find out how this reveal would go and who it would impact.

Overall, I really liked it! Plenty of spice for those who want something with a little heat. And it will also cater to the mystery/suspense and slightly toxic romance lovers.

This conclusion proves some obsessions are meant to last forever!!

Just when you think the obsession might be over… it’s only beginning.

The second book in the Rozanov Bratva turns up the heat, the stakes and the danger.

Amara thought she started over, hid from the past, was living a normal life, but she’s been carrying a secret for six months.
Ransome doesn’t just want Amara he needs her and watching him claim what’s his while the world around them burns is deliciously brutal and now he will not let her go…even if his arranged marriage was supposed to bind him to another.

The chemistry between them? Filthy, addictive and completely unstoppable.
Amara is fierce, fearless and unbreakable, but Ransome is relentless, dominant and completely in awe of her.

Bratva politics, family loyalty and power plays collide with obsession and desire in a storm that leaves your heart racing.

Noami West delivers a finale that’s morally gray, dangerously sexy and impossible to put down.
If Vicious Obsession pulled you in… Vicious Innocence will consume you entirely.

Power. Obsession. Love. Loyalty.
A MUST READ conclusion that proves some desires and some secrets…cannot be denied.

lots of gaps…

In the first book, I complained that it needed some editing but in this book, it seems like big chunks of story were missing. How did Ransome know where Amara was just from her singing “Bohemian Rhapsody”? How did he get there so fast if the place was at least 45 min away ? How did he just repel from the ceiling like some superhero? What happened to his WIFE, Jenica? What happened to her siblings that she just left in some small town? Who were the mysterious men that her sister thought were looking in her window, causing her to have nightmares? We had to sign up for an extended epilogue..guess that would answer my questions? I didn’t bother…

If I could give zero stars for both of these books I would.. the fmc has ZERO backbone when it comes to the mmc. She feels betrayed by him and yet when they see each other she completely forgets everything and goes back with him. Girl, what??! 😭 And the mmc is just an asshole, both the first book and this one, to the fmc. 🙄

The story picks up where it left off in book one and is six months later with Ransome now as the new pakhan. He's going through lots of trials and tribulations with several things going on and pulling him in all different directions with him cleaning up all the mess that he has inherited from his father after he pass. In the last book Ransome told Amara to leave New York City and never to return after he thought that she had betrayed him. She and her three siblings are now living in Montana, struggling and is six months pregnant with his heir. She as a new, living in a new state, and has settled in a small town that doesn't even have a target. She traded a penthouse view for scrubs at a dentist office and a car that is old enough to vote. It hurt at first to leave New York and her favorite obsession. She as finally managed to put Ransome Rozanov behind her, along with everything he had showed her about himself and about what she'd let him do to her. She was doing fine in the little small town. But she couldn't help herself with her obsession and then she one stupid and reckless mistake.
Because of her stalker tendencies late one night she decided to login for one teensy little peek to see what Ransome was doing at a system she should have forgotten because she still can't get him out of her blood. However, unfortunately for her that ping told him exactly where she was hiding. Although he told her to leave every day he misses and can't stop thinking about her. He misses her competence and her intuition and anticipation of his every needs. When Ransome found her he didn't gave her a chance on what to do. Her ping brought him to her little small town. And now his men are circling the grocery store that she works at in black-out SUVs, and the Bratva pakhan himself steps out of a rental car in the middle of Montana. He's now looking at her like she stole something that belongs to him, which technically she did. Because the secret that she's been carrying for six months is his heir. And according to Ransome, a Rozanov heir doesn't grow up in a small town with bear locks on the trash cans.
He grew up in the family and his child will do as well, which means she's going back to New York City. He dragged her back to a world in which she barely survived. And although months pass being with each other he still owns every part of her. They're still both hurting from the suppose betrayal. And both are keeping huge secrets, she's pregnant with his heir and he got married while she was gone. But everything is not what it seems and she believes. Because his wedding were in name only, he doesn't sleep with his wife and they share separate spaces. Ransome wants a DNA test to prove that the child was his since he still doesn't trust her. Will he picture out the true perpetrator before it's too late? And will Amara and her baby's life be in danger from his enemies now that she have come from the shadows? Will they reconcile? Will they get their HEA?

Just a quick note before getting into this review, this is book two of the duet, so definitely make sure you read the first book beforehand to avoid spoilers.

Six months into her exile from Ransome’s life, Amara is living a new life on the run with her family. With a baby growing within her, she’s trying to build some kind of stability away from the man she once loved and obsessed over. But when Ransome comes crashing back into her world, it becomes clear that their story hasn’t ended yet. But this time around, their love isn’t easy with secrets, lies, and outside forces constantly threatening any chance they have at happiness.

“You are mine and the world is going to know it.”

Overall I liked this duet a lot. Naomi West always delivers really engaging duets and this one was no different. Ransome and Amara were such a fun couple to follow and I had a great time seeing how their story finally played out.

Ransome…I’m not gonna lie, I struggled with him a little in this one. I completely understood that the weight of the world was on his shoulders and that balancing two lives wasn’t easy for him. But I did find myself wishing there was a little less “you belong to me” energy and a little more “I belong to you” from his side. Either way though, I still appreciated how his walls slowly melted whenever it came to Amara. At the end of the day he would do anything to protect her and her family, and that side of him was really nice to see. My man was possessive, sweet, caring…when he let himself be and his growth really made it worthwhile.

Amara was my fighter QUEEN in this one. She went through such a difficult time but never lost that strength that has always defined her character. Being put in the position of the other woman wasn’t easy and could have easily turned messy, but I really appreciated that she was never petty or whiny about it. Instead she was realistic about the situation knowing that Bratva politics were involved and focused on what actually mattered, building a life for her son. That’s the thing about Amara, she’s resilient and knows when to put others, especially her baby, ahead of herself and I loved her for it!

The plot itself definitely kept me hooked! I’ll admit I did wish there had been less physical contact with Jenica, but I also understood that Ransome’s hands were tied in many ways and it never went beyond surface level. I also REALLY REALLY loved Amara’s family, especially Gianni. Seeing him step up to defend his sister and watching that growth in him was such a great moment. Overall, it was a quick binge for me through both books in the duet and by the time I got to the ending? I loved it. Their happily ever after felt earned after everything they went through.

I really like Amara. She lands on her feet and takes care of her siblings, even when she’s not making a lot of money. After Ransome (why the heck didn’t the author just spell it Ransom? Ransome sounds like a bad ‘80s romance hero) banishes her and her siblings from the tri-state area, they end up in a tiny town across the country. Amara and her siblings don’t have a lot of money, but they have each other and they are all likable and smart-mouthed, which I loved. Amara is six months pregnant with Ransome’s son (Mazel Tov!), but he doesn’t know until she logs on to his company’s website. Which was lacking in the brains department, but I really think that she wanted to be found. Anyway, his spy sees she’s preggo, and the next thing she knows Ransome is all up in her business demanding a paternity test. Because he’s an Alphahole, emphasis on hole. So she was keeping a pretty big secret from him.
Not to be outdone, Ransome is keeping some secrets of his own. Like the fact that he’s married. Granted, it’s an arranged Bratva marriage, and he never touches his wife besides in public, but Amara still gets shirty about it. And with good reason, because she’s now the other woman, and his wife periodically visits to harass her.
Meanwhile, Electra is still dating her filthy-rich mystery boyfriend (and even a concussed lamb could predict who he turns out to be, which is the main reason why this book didn’t get five stars).
Ransoms is now Pakhan of his Bratva, because he turned thirty, and every heir becomes Pakhan when he turns thirty donchaknow. This leads to a number of headaches, as they are still running Peruvian marching powder at a very high volume, and because Tristian is still out there, hiring thugs and building an army.
The Tristian portion of the story is kind of flat. First he’s an invisible menace, then he’s suddenly there without his army and there’s no blood in the streets. He goes out with a whimper rather than with a show. I was disappointed in that.
However, Amara’s BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY trick was really clever, and Electra, as always, is a trip.
Cat’s Stats
Heat- explicit
Bechdel test? Passed
Safety? no! He’s cheating on his wife with the FMC!
Triggers- childbirth discussion and labor on page along with some medical details, violence, language in two languages, DV, and reality tv.
Tropes- marriage in name only, arranged marriage, pregnant heroine, surprise pregnancy, he ain’t heavy- he’s my bratva, second chance, workplace romance… and a partridge in a pear tree.

In Vicious Innocence by Naomi West, Ransome really said, “leave New York and never come back”...and then immediately turned around and kept tabs on Amara like his life depended on it.

Sir. Be serious.

He banishes her and the siblings she’s spent the last 15 years raising, but conveniently stays watching from a distance under the excuse of “making sure she stays gone.” Yeah…okay. Meanwhile, Amara slips right back into her old habits, because of course she does, and logs in to track him again. And what does that do? Hands him a direct line straight back to her. The man wastes zero time.

And when he finds her? She’s six months pregnant. With his son. He drags her back to New York (and by drags, I mean she goes very willingly)…but just forgets to mention one tiny, completely insignificant detail: He’s married...to his enemy’s cousin. Yes - that enemy. The one who kidnapped her brother.

Romance is alive and well.

It’s not a love match...they hate each other. It’s all strategy, a power move to try and create peace between warring Bratva factions and position Ransome to take over from his father. Both women know about each other. Neither are thrilled.

Now, given the level of threat hanging over literally everyone in this book, I was expecting full lockdown energy - guards everywhere, eyes on her 24/7, the usual mafia-level paranoia.

Instead?
She gets…one guard. Who's really a driver.

One.

And the communication issues? Still going strong. Amara is out here seeing the enemy lurking in the shadows and just…doesn’t tell Ransome. Please. I know you’re down bad, but at what cost??

That said...this book definitely brings more suspense than the first. The stakes feel higher, the danger is closer, and I was way more on edge. It still doesn’t hit that super intense, high-stakes mafia vibe you sometimes expect from the genre, but it’s a step up.

Finally, that HEA feels earned.

Across both books, I was rooting so hard for Ransome and Amara, and this is where it all comes together. For all his issues, it genuinely felt like he wanted to be better - for her, for their family, for everything they were building.

Messy. Toxic. A little unhinged.
But also…weirdly soft where it counts.

And honestly? That’s my favourite kind of romance.

Easy come, easy go, will you let me go?*

I had an entire review about volume 2 and LOST IT! Now I'm frustrated and won't be writing a 2-page gloating review.

It was good for a continuation. I liked it enough to finish out the duet. I had Electra's plot down from the get-go, our heroine missed. Jeneca actually was eventually amusing in her ending highlights. Amara turned airhead when it came to vital information. She wouldn't offer it up to her keepers when it was vital to her households well-being and sworn to secrecy but she had no issue with loose lips when it became dangerous for her livelihood and that of her family.
Speaking of, men are lurking at the Manhatten house, and she leaves that family behind to fend for themselves while jumping on a plane bound for Ransome?
Speaking of Ransome, he came and went to visit Amara. It seemed while he was only horney. Then he would return to his marital home? And she was good with that. Sucked up every story, and he told her that she was the one for him. I'd be so skeptical.

It's a shame I lost my first review. It spoke of all the things I liked about this book because now I'm spitting out spoilers, sorry.
Once again , this review is my opinion.
I did like the book. Enough so that I followed to the end, engaged. Even though portions aggravated me. I wasn't grumpy the entire time!!
I always suggest you read the book yourself and form your own opinion!

(The errors that interrupted my flow, volume 1? They're still happening in volume 2. You write well, Naomi. You have a crap-ton of money. Hire adequate editors, proofreaders, ghost writers, etc. Get a new beta team. There's no excuse for not seeing the tiniest. These manuscripts go through several people.)

Amara and Ransome’s story

This is book two and the conclusion of the Amara and Ransome story. This book begins with about six months of time passing. We find Amara and her siblings together and making it work in a small town. On the other side, we find Ransome as Pakhan now. He is trying to put out many fires (figuratively) and bring about change to the Bratva that his dad had to pass down. I think Amara forgave him too soon for him not trusting her and sending her into exile. Amara should have made Ransome woo her, and make firmer commitments. Yet when Ransome showed up in Montana, Amara caved too fast. Plus these two are awful at communicating. The villain was off page until the final chapters. And again, like the first book, the epilogue is a link instead of being included in this book which is disappointing,

At the end of book 1 Vicious Obsession Ransom has been betrayed, he knows who's betrayed him or so he thinks. He banishes Amara from his life. He told her to change her name, run, never look back and never return to his city. Six months later and he still can't stop thinking about her, and then she makes a drastic mistake. Emotions are intense in this story, their connection is explosive, both are suffering feelings of betrayal, trust and a love that cannot be denied. Naomi West has out done herself with a great conclusion to the amazing story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I devoured this after being left on a cliff hanger. Amara disappeared as promised and made the mistake of logging into an Apex system and bank, Ransome found her and bought her home without mentioning he married Janica, in name only. Ransome and Amara settle back into their routine.
Electra ends up dating Sean who is actually Tristan. Started to feel a bit rushed and didn’t hear about some characters again, like what happened to her dad and Ransome’s dad? Would of liked a bit more of them
As a couple with a baby.

This was an entertaining dark romance and it kept my attention most of the way through. The chemistry between the main characters was strong and there were definitely some intense moments that made it hard to put down.

That said, parts of the story felt a bit predictable and some character decisions were frustrating at times. I also would have liked a little more depth in the emotional development between the leads. Overall it’s a decent read and enjoyable if you like darker romance, but it didn’t fully stand out for me.

I didn't see a bratva romance starting in Montana, but somehow that worked well with this book. Amara and Ransome find their way back together because Amara does what she does best, make bad decisions and stalk Ransome. The story ends with the bad guy generally hidden in plain sight. I was screaming at both characters to figure it out early on. After the battle when the potential costs became clear, Ransome's lightbulb moment was pretty brutal and you had to feel for the guy. This couple really stretched the miscommunication trope until the very end. It's a four of five for me for that reason.

Vicious Innocence is the final book in the Rozanov Bratva Duet which continues the dark romance between Amara and Ransome who have been separated for six months after he banished her based on a false allegation. He finds Amara living in a small town in Montana but she has been keeping a secret from him. Ransome takes her back with him, however, he has some major secrets which he is keeping from Amara. This intense finale has a steamy relationship, Mafia action, secrets, and a rocky road to a great love story.

Wow! I truly felt like Ransome was exactly what a real-life mafia man would be like—ruthless, complicated, and not always easy to love. Amara is exactly what he needs in his life, balancing him in ways he didn’t even realize he needed.
I’ll admit, I almost hated Ransome in book one, but by book two I completely loved him. Watching his character evolve and seeing the depth behind his actions made the journey so worth it.
This was such a great story, and the characters felt so different from the typical mafia romance. That uniqueness made it even more compelling. I absolutely loved it!.

Fabulous

In the second book Ransome feels betrayed but also is trying to rightfully take over as the leader and succombs to giving in and marrying Jenika - but he finds out where Amara is hiding and that she is pregnant so he does everything he must to bring them home- but with that comes more drama, more Bratva messiness and a truth that he never saw coming. With trying to not show vulnerability- with trying to weld power Ransome realizes there is more to life than power-

This book will grab you quick and with a vengeance- it is filled with all things Bratva and power but shows a vulnerability you don’t see often. I loved this dual series …..
