A fake fiancée on the run. A decade of forbidden secrets. And the true crime podcaster determined to expose it all.
To the world, I’m Brogan Sinclair: a billionaire Pharmaceutical heir sitting on a throne built on lies. My high-profile engagement to a Media heiress was supposed to be the ultimate power move. Instead, she vanishes without a trace—and I become Prime Suspect Number One.
The police think it’s a crime of passion. They don’t know the truth. Our engagement was a sham, because I’ve spent the last ten years secretly in love with another man.
Declan Fitzgerald is my forbidden sanctuary. To protect him, I’d do anything. But when relentless true crime podcaster Enslee Byrne arrives in the city to tear my life apart, she stumbles upon the one secret that could destroy us both.
Then, a twist of fate changes the game.
Declan and I have a dangerous choice to make. We can let her discover the truth—or we can rewrite the story with a beautiful lie. But when a bloody piece of evidence brings the police to my door, our web of deception begins to strangle us. Now, the two people who hold my heart must race against time to prove my innocence... before the real danger catches up to us all.
I write stories about obsessive heroes & tortured souls finding strength, love, healing, and light in each other’s darkness. They are broken, flawed, but always brutally raw. My books are for those that crave stories with spice, dark themes, & the type of love that’ll completely wreck and ruin you. 💔
4 stars There are books that give you a mystery. The Lies That Bind apparently looked at that and said, "Not enough. Add a missing fake fiancée, a billionaire prime suspect, a secret ten-year relationship, a true crime podcaster, approximately seventeen lies and make it 671 pages." Okay then. Brogan's fiancée has disappeared and, inconveniently for him, the police think he might have had something to do with it. Which would already be a problem, except the engagement was fake and he's actually been secretly in love with Declan for TEN YEARS. Ten. Years. Babe, that isn't a secret anymore. That's practically a long-service award. Then Enslee arrives with her true crime podcast and starts digging around where Brogan would very much prefer, she DID NOT DIG. And honestly, putting a true crime podcaster anywhere near a suspicious disappearance and expecting her not to investigate is adorable. Enslee basically took one look at the situation and went, "Hmm. That's suspicious." And off she went. Naturally, I was right there with her because missing woman? Fake engagement? Secret relationship? Billionaire family? Lies absolutely EVERYWHERE? My suspicion didn't even knock. It just moved in. Every time another secret came out, I thought, "Right. NOW we know what's happening." Then the book would casually hand me another lie and suddenly I was side eyeing everyone again. Nobody was safe. Brogan? Watching you. Declan? Watching you too. Enslee? Girl, keep digging. Random person existing quietly in the background? WHAT DO YOU KNOW? The relationship between Brogan and Declan gave this more emotional weight than I expected. Ten years of hiding who they really were to each other isn't something you can just shrug off, and then Enslee comes crashing into the middle of everything and changes the whole dynamic. Because apparently Brogan's life wasn't complicated enough. Sir, you are already suspected of making your fake fiancée disappear. Maybe don't add "even more complicated secret relationship" to today's schedule? No? Excellent. The mystery was what really kept me reading. Once bloody evidence starts appearing and all those carefully constructed lies begin collapsing, I needed to know what actually happened and who was behind it. There were enough secrets floating around that my internal detective remained gainfully employed. BUT. 671 pages. Friend. I FELT those 671 pages. There were definitely sections where this became a slog for me. I was still invested in the mystery and the characters, but there were times where I wanted to gently take the book by the shoulders and say, "I promise I am coming with you. Could we perhaps get there slightly faster?" Because I liked the story. I wanted the answers. I wanted to see how Brogan, Declan and Enslee were going to get themselves out of this increasingly tangled disaster. I just didn't necessarily need every kilometre of the scenic route. And that's really what kept this at four stars instead of pushing higher. The mystery had me, the relationship had me, the secrets DEFINITELY had me, but the pacing occasionally had me checking how much book I still had left. Never a good sign. Still, when things were moving, I was absolutely in. Fake fiancée? Missing. Secret relationship? Complicated. True crime podcaster? Digging. Police? Suspicious. Bloody evidence? Oh. OH. Now we're having a DAY. By the end, I'd spent so much time buried in these people's lies that I wouldn't have trusted anyone if they'd told me the sky was blue without providing photographic evidence and three witnesses. Did I enjoy it? Absolutely. Did I need answers? YES. Did I occasionally feel like I had personally walked all 671 pages uphill? Also, yes. Four stars. Twisty, messy, romantic, suspicious and packed with enough secrets to keep my detective brain entertained. I just needed someone to take approximately 150 of those pages aside and quietly tell them their services were no longer required.
Brogan Sinclair is the CEO of Sinclair Pharmaceuticals and under suspicion following the disappearance of his fiancée, Layla Harte, daughter of the Harte Media empire.
True-crime podcaster and researcher Enslee Byrne is shocked to learn she’s been granted an interview with the accused, especially considering he has yet to give a statement or even publicly plead for help finding Layla.
When she arrives at his office, she’s met with a caustic man who promptly sends her away. But when Enslee realizes she’s dropped her keys, she returns to the office and things change trajectory very quickly when she finds Brogan and his best friend, celebrity actor Declan Fitzgerald, in a compromising position.
The depth of this story was so much more than I expected. It’s a brilliantly unique storyline chock-full of twists, intrigue, suspense, spice, and so much emotion.
I especially loved watching Brogan and Declan reconnect and work through everything that’s kept them apart. But in doing so, it often felt like Enslee was the third wheel in their relationship rather than an equal part of the throuple.
With a book this long, I expected to see more of the full scope of their relationship and how the three of them came together as a unit. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed the premise and all the twists it brought with it, and I’m definitely excited to see what Skye brings us after this debut.

Brogan and Declan had me absolutely FERAL. The fact that Brogan has secretly been in love with Declan for TEN YEARS??? The longing. The tension. The history between them. Their relationship was easily my favorite part because you can feel how much they’ve wanted each other and how much they’re risking by finally letting those feelings come to the surface.
Then throw in a missing fake fiancée, a true crime podcaster determined to uncover what happened, bloody evidence, and a police investigation closing in, and suddenly I’m questioning EVERYONE.
And the spice? The chemistry between Brogan and Declan is absolutely lethal.
I came for the mystery, stayed for the relationship, and was personally victimized by the spice. This was messy, emotional, suspenseful, and completely addictive. Exactly the kind of book that has me saying “just one more chapter” at 2 AM like I haven’t learned my lesson.
My only reason for 4 stars is I did find quite a bit of repetition in the story and some of the language used, which made the story drag out at times.
Give me a romance where everyone has secrets and I’m immediately going to start questioning absolutely everyone.
The mystery pulled me in, but Brogan and Declan were the real reason I stayed invested. Their ten years of hidden feelings and history gave their relationship so much tension, and watching them finally confront everything between them was such a satisfying part of the story.
Then Enslee gets pulled into their lives, and I had so much fun watching the dynamic shift into MMF. She brought a completely different energy to the relationship, especially with her true-crime background and determination to figure out what happened. Add the missing fiancée, suspicious evidence, and endless secrets, and I was constantly trying to piece everything together right alongside her.
There’s a lot packed into this story, but the combination of romance, suspense, and complicated relationships kept me thoroughly invested. I especially appreciated how much emotional history Brogan and Declan had to work through while figuring out what their relationship could look like now.
This was a messy, intriguing romance that gave me plenty to sink my teeth into.

A sincere thank you to Skye Frost and Luna Literary for the ARC! 🥰📚
I’m so grateful for the early read. As always, all thoughts and opinions are completely my own. ✨
The Lies That Bind by Skye Frost had me completely hooked from the beginning. I kept telling myself just one more chapter and apparently that was a LIE because suddenly I was still reading and absolutely needed to know what happened 😂
The longing, the history, the secrets… I was INVESTED.
AND THEN ENSLEE ENTERS THE CHAT 👀🔥
I loved watching everything shift from MM into MMF and seeing the relationship between the three of them develop amongst all the absolute CHAOS happening around them. The chemistry was chemistry-ingggg 🥵 Brogan, Declan and Enslee together were just EVERYTHING.
But this wasn’t just romance and spice. The missing fake fiancée, Brogan being the prime suspect, the true crime investigation, all the secrets and lies piling on top of each other… I genuinely didn’t know who or what to trust. Every time I thought I had something figured out, NOPE 😂
The suspense had me absolutely flying through the pages because I NEEDED ANSWERS.
Dark billionaire romance ✔️ Forbidden secret relationship ✔️ MM to MMF ✔️ True crime podcaster ✔️ Why choose ✔️ Mystery and suspense ✔️ Men completely gone for their people ✔️✔️✔️
Skye Frost absolutely sucked me into this one. I couldn’t put it down, I didn’t WANT to put it down and I was completely obsessed with Brogan, Declan and Enslee.
The Lies That Bind grabbed me by the throat and dragged me through a labyrinth of forbidden love, billionaire chaos, lies stacked like Jenga blocks, and emotional damage so potent I had to sit down and hydrate. Brogan is the kind of beautifully broken MMC who walks into a room and the trauma follows like a shadow, rage issues, PTSD, dissociation, conversion‑therapy scars, and a family that treats him like a stain on the Sinclair name. Yet even in the middle of his spiral, his love for Declan burns through every dark corner. Declan, meanwhile, is the protective, dominant actor who would set the world on fire just to keep Brogan warm. Their decade‑long secret relationship? Feral. Then Enslee crashes into their lives, crime‑podcaster, van‑dweller, Alabama chaos incarnate and suddenly all three of them are tangled in a web of lies, missing‑fiancé mysteries, and choices that fuse their fates together. Every twist felt like Maggie Rawdon personally slapping me across the face; every betrayal peeled back another layer of emotional carnage. If you crave stories where two men claw their way through trauma, make morally questionable choices, let a woman into their wreckage, and still find their way back to each other through all the WTF moments, this book delivers. It’s messy, dark, tender, and addictive.
This book had me hooked from the very beginning! Give me forbidden love, billionaires, fake engagements, devastating secrets, murder accusations, and a true-crime podcaster digging where she shouldn’t, and I am ALL IN.
Brogan’s life is basically one giant house of cards, and watching everything start to crumble was deliciously stressful. Her relationship with Declan brought all the forbidden-love angst, while Enslee’s investigation added a whole layer of suspense that kept me questioning who was telling the truth and who was hiding something.
The web of deception in this story is wild. Every revelation made me rethink what I thought I knew, and the twists kept coming at exactly the right moments. Just when I thought I had things figured out, the story pulled the rug right out from underneath me.
And that combination of romantic tension + mystery + danger + secrets? Absolutely addictive.
I loved how the story kept me guessing while still giving the characters emotional depth. The stakes continued climbing until I was completely invested in finding out who was behind everything and whether Brogan and Declan could make it out with their hearts, their freedom, and their secrets intact.
If you love forbidden romance, complicated relationships, morally questionable decisions, true-crime vibes, and twists that make you yell “WAIT…WHAT?!” this one needs to be on your TBR.
Skye Frost absolutely delivered a deliciously tangled story where love can be dangerous, lies have consequences, and sometimes the truth is the most terrifying thing of all.
I'm sorry, I just can't keep pushing through it anymore. 🥲 nothing is happening besides them getting it on every other chapter and it's reallly long scenes at that. It would probably be fine if I was liking the plot & the characters overall, but this is just not it for me like I hoped.
The Lies That Bind by Skye Frost is a story of love, deception, and the unbearable tension between truth and secrecy. Brogan Sinclair, a billionaire whose carefully constructed life begins to unravel when his fake fiancée goes missing. With his life under the microscope, things are set to take a more dramatic turn when a relentless true crime podcaster threatens to complicate things even more. At stake is his decade-long forbidden affair with Declan Fitzgerald - and that’s only for starters. And as the story unfolds, Ms. Frost intertwines MMF romance with suspense, drama, and a dose of angsty emotion. Happy Reading…
Thai was a spooky yet interesting read. have having a sneak peak to the next books at the end was a neat look at how two of the characters will continue to grow
I love a romance that starts with a lie and then keeps adding more reasons for everyone involved to be completely screwed. 😂
The Lies That Bind had such an interesting combination of romance, mystery, and deception that I was hooked by the relationship dynamics just as much as the suspense.
Brogan was a fascinating character because his entire public image is built around control, power, and the perfect billionaire façade, while privately he’s been carrying feelings for Declan for years. That forbidden relationship gives their connection so much emotional weight. There’s history here, but also all the things they've had to keep hidden.
And Declan? ❤️ I really liked the way his relationship with Brogan feels like more than a secret fling. He’s the person Brogan has been protecting and loving behind closed doors, which makes the pressure surrounding their relationship feel even more intense.
Then Enslee enters the picture, and I absolutely loved what she brings to the dynamic. A true-crime podcaster investigating a billionaire who suddenly finds himself at the center of a missing-fiancée case is already a fantastic setup. But having her stumble into a secret that completely changes the situation? 👀 Yes, please.
The MM-to-MMF why-choose dynamic was another aspect that made this stand out for me. I liked that the relationship doesn't simply become a matter of choosing one person over another. There’s a complicated emotional connection developing between all three, and the secrecy surrounding them makes every new development feel more dangerous.
The mystery was also a huge part of what kept me turning pages. The missing fiancée, suspicious evidence, police investigation, and layers of deception give the romance an almost claustrophobic feeling. Nobody can afford to tell the whole truth, but every lie creates another problem.
And that title is very appropriate. 😂 The more everyone tries to protect themselves with carefully constructed stories, the more tangled everything becomes.
Skye Frost does a great job blending dark billionaire romance, forbidden love, secret relationships, friends-to-lovers, why choose, true-crime mystery, and suspense without making the romance feel secondary. There’s plenty of emotional tension alongside the intrigue, and I especially enjoyed the question of whether these characters can actually trust one another when so much of their relationship has been built around secrets.
If you enjoy dark romance with a mystery woven through it, billionaire heroes, MM/ MMF dynamics, forbidden relationships, secret love, why-choose romance, true-crime vibes, and characters who are constantly one discovery away from everything falling apart, this is definitely one to check out. 🖤
Look, I tried to make this review as concise as possible, but sometimes you just gotta keep going! This was my first book by this author, and I wasn’t planning on becoming obsessed, but here we are, okay, no judgment. When I saw the page count clocking in at over 600 pages, I was slightly concerned it was too long and would drone on, and I'd lose interest. Y’all. That was so far from the case here. This author has done something that most can’t, which is to write quite a thick MMF romance book without filling it to the brim with nothing but spicy scenes. Don’t get me wrong, there is the perfect amount. But they don’t rely on steam to carry the plot, which I loved. Brogan is out here playing billionaire heir with a fake fiancée, a missing woman, and a decade-long secret romance with Declan, and somehow I’m supposed to read this like a normal person with a functioning nervous system. Then Enslee rolls into town with a microphone and the kind of curiosity that gets people buried in the first place, and suddenly everybody’s lies have lies. The chemistry, the criminal suspicion, the emotional baggage packed tightly enough to qualify as a weapon. I would be pacing my room trying to connect the dots like I personally had a warrant to serve. Okay, maybe I was actually pacing just reading it! I already know I’d be side-eyeing every character, accusing the wrong person at least seven times, and developing a personal grudge against anyone who interrupts me while reading. Enjoy dark secrets, forbidden love, suspiciously wealthy people making catastrophically bad decisions, and plots that send your brain into unpaid detective work? Good, please pick this up because I need someone else to spiral over this mess with me. Join me, will you?
The Lies That Bind Us by Skye Frost is a captivating novel that explores the complicated relationships between trust, secrets, and love. With its intriguing storyline and emotional moments, the book kept me interested while showing how lies can affect the people we care about most. One of the most interesting aspects of the novel is the way the characters delt with secrets and dishonesty. As the story unfolds, readers are encouraged to think about why people lie and whether the truth is always the best choice. The characters’ struggles made the story relatable because many people have experienced situations where trust has been broken or where telling the truth is difficult. Skye Frost did a good job of creating emotional tension and keeping the reader curious about what will happen next. One possible weakness is that some parts of the story may feel predictable to readers who are familiar with books involving secrets and complicated relationships. However, the emotional conflicts and the questions raised by the characters help kept the novel engaging. Overall, The Lies That Bind Us was an enjoyable read filled with emotion, mystery, and relationship drama.
I received an ARC copy from Luna Literacy. Thank you for giving me the chance to read this novel and share my honest review of the novel
I received this book as an advance copy and these are my honest thoughts.
This book was such an emotional read. Pining and angst, tough subjects being broached, alleged murder and kidnapping, a true crime podcast, and so much love and spice. This book really has something for everyone. Some places have you in tears or so invested that you can't put the book down because what happens next could change everything. Some places you really may want to rethink reading this in public. Some are so incredibly sweet that you may end up with a Halloween-style stomachache. Enslee is so strong and more than willing to go to bat for whoever needs it. Declan just wants what is best for Brogan even if it's not always the best way to go about it. And Brogan is just trying to exist from day to day. Everyone in this story has demons and everyone is this story does their best to be redeemable, it's really up to you to decide if they do. Please be sure to check your triggers before starting this book because while I wouldn't necessarily call it dark, it does deal with incredibly sensitive themes.
A missing woman, her fiancé is the prime suspect- sounds pretty ordinary right. Wrong, there is nothing ordinary about this book ( in a good way).
This is my first MMF where the two males were the ones in a relationship before finding their girl! And let me tell you- what a love they had!
Enslee our podcasterFMC was at the wrong place at the wrong time and gets thrown into their world. She is determined to uncover the truth. Love was not supposed to part of it!
What happens when truths are revealed?
The spice is SPICING in this one! I did like how we got all three of them together but we also her her relationship evolve with each man as well!
If you like MMF, and mystery, and a whole lot of spice- this one is for you.
Wow! The lies, betrayal, deceit and spice in this were great!! All three of the main characters suffered from their own guilt, but my heart absolutely broke for Enslee and Brogran’s upbringing, the people they were supposed to trust and care about them were horrible. At times I did find this to be a bit repetitive and drawn out, but over all I enjoyed it. The twists kept me guessing and not wanting to put it down.
Thank you Luna Literary and Skye Frost for the opportunity to read and review this ARC
A crime podcaster, actor, and a ceo type who’s accused of harming his fiancé!
Makes for great storytelling. I like the relationship a lot between Brogan and Declan. Having to keep it a secret for 10 years is a travesty in itself. Enslee was okay for me she had trauma of her own from past events.
The mystery and plot twist was great I felt this was a tad bit too long and repetitive in places. I found myself being taken out of the story a few times. That’s why it kept me from giving it a 4. Otherwise the story itself was really good. Thanks Iris influencer society for the ARC
Two men, Brogan and Declan, in a secret relationship for years, Brogan has a missing fiancé, and Enslee, a podcaster that wants to offer Brogan a chance to tell his side of the story. But things get more complicated when she finds them in a compromising situation, outing their secret, and tries to leave unsuccessfully.
This is my first read from this author and I was thoroughly entertained. The mystery, the danger, the emotional connections, the twists and turns, betrayal, and reveals were all that and a bag of chips.
Wooow .... Amnesia mixed with manipulation..... And two MMCs?! I am loving this! This whole story was great it was the perfect mix of crazy I was looking for.
Usually why choose isn’t the FIRST thing I’m searching for but it doesn’t bother me… HOWEVER… this was insane. The tension between the MMF was delectable and I devoured this book in one sitting
Good crime dark romance. If you like these books, this book for you. Don't let the page count dismiss you from reading this good book, quick read, good characters, great storyline.
A little bit feral for this story! Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Forbidden love, a fake engagement, secrets, murder and some SPICE…basically all the good stuff packed in to one glorious book.
Brogan’s life is a balancing act, reading everything starting to fall down around her was full on anxiety inducing. In walks Declan and we have the beginnings of forbidden-love angst which perks her world up a little. In other news there’s Enslee’s investigation going on in the background which is giving all the suspense. I could not decide who was telling the truth and who was hiding things. We’re met with deception constantly! I could not keep up. I thought I’d figured it out and then by the end of the page I realised I was very wrong. It’s going to keep you guessing that’s for sure.
Skye Frost has gone and delivered us readers a story that’s webbed in danger, consequences but where the truth is the most frightening element of them all. Thanking Luna Literary and Skye Frost for the opportunity to read the ARC of The Lies That Bind
The Lies That Bind—Brogan, Declan, and Enslee. "The lies that bind us together had been exactly that—lies. A series of mistruths and manipulations." First book from this author, and I'll definitely read another! I’m mostly an MM/MM+ reader, but I venture every once in awhile. I’m glad I did! I was given the privilege to read as an ARC reader. I’m not the best at reviews, but I'm going to try. This book was so different from some of the things I've ever read, really unique.
I wasn’t sure how to feel about Enslee at first, when the guys started showing feelings for her. (Especially with how the plot unfolded.) I feel for all of them in different ways; they have so many issues of their own to overcome. I love the way Enslee encouraged Brogan and Declan’s relationship and even helped them overcome some of their bumps in their journey. Brogan, that man went through it. I sort of want to hug him, but I don’t think he’d appreciate that. I think all of them deserve a good hug; they have all been through it.
The whole thing of taking her and pretending they were already together was iffy to me. Especially with all the people lying to her. I sort of wish they had just told her the truth, helped her get her memories back, and asked her to help them with Brogan’s case. I feel like they could have built a relationship that way.
BUT, I also loved this book, and it was written the way it was meant to be, so I wouldn’t change a thing. I wouldn't have even gotten my idea if the author didn't write these characters exactly how they did, and I believe no matter what my opinion is, the author's opinion is what matters most.
Some of my favorite lines straight from the story! I hope these ( even though some words are edited) will pull you in and give you a good understanding of the relationship they have! ;
It’s a deep-seated love… trust… soul-searing commitment. Most of all, it’s god d a m n fÜckiñg real. It’s ours. His and mine. Brogan’s not just another man, though. He’s the man, and more importantly, he’s my man. ' "Even if the two of us fûçking crashed and burned, I'd still want my ashes smoldering with yours. There’s nowhere else on the f*ckiñg face of this earth that I want to be other than with you." ' “Looking back now, all of us had lied to each other. Those mistruths were what we clung to because the lies were what bound us.”

The Lies That Bind is full of forbidden love, lies, secrets, betrayals, billionaires, spice, deception and tension that just keeps you turning the pages.
Brogan, 29, is the CEO of Sinclair Pharmaceuticals, he is dark, moody, angry, has uncontrollable rage issues, PTSD, dissociative, and is the survivor of conversion therapy but that still haunts his nightmares. He is a disgrace to the family name, something his father never lets him forget. Brogan's life is spiraling and falling apart around him, but his love for Declan still shines through even during his darkest moments.
Declan, is a hot actor at the top of his game. He is the dominant lover, he is very protective, the caring one, the people pleaser and will do everything for Brogan. Their love has been a secret for over a decade.
Enslee, is from Alabama, she lives in her van and travels the country interviewing inmates for her crime podcast. She heads to New York to interview Brogan as he is the number 1 suspect in the missing case of his fiancé.
Then one ultimate decision intertwines their fates.
The emotional depth through this book was top notch where you could feel the emotional damage and the love they felt for each other. As another layer was unveiled, I thought I knew what was coming, but then another twist would hit, a secret revealed and betrayals uncovered.
If you love a book where two men who have had the world against them, make highly questionable decisions, make room in their life for a woman to complete them, learn from their mistakes but will always find their way back to each other, then you will love this one even with all its WTF moments.
"Silence speaks much louder than mistruth. Now, are we done here?"
"That's not the point. When has anything ever been right for us? It's all been wrong, but it's helped. The two of you filled my empty lief, even if just for the briefest moment of time. I know what I'd always been missing, so if this is wrong, it's never felt right."
"It's because I need you, and I need for you to need me too."
"When you love somebody, you love all parts of them. That includes not only the good, but the bad... the beautiful and the ugly."
"The man you've become is broken, Brogan, but he can be fixed. He's also empty, but he can be made whole again."
Brogan Sinclair is the CEO of Sinclair Pharmaceuticals and under suspicion following the disappearance of his fiancée, Layla Harte, daughter of the Harte Media empire. True-crime podcaster and researcher Enslee Byrne is shocked to learn she’s been granted an interview.
Brogan and Declan had me absolutely FERAL. The longing alone had me frothing at the mouth and hot under the collar. The tension alone could have set the buillding on fire and they did not even have to touch each other. Thirsty did NOT even come close, you will need plenty of water nearby I swear. It is also heart breaking when you find out everything that could happen and all that they could lose if people found out about them. It made me so sad to think that this still happens in this day and age.
Trying to work out who was good and who was bad was thrilling and had me going through the book at breakneck speed, hoping that who I thought it was happened to be the culprit or if i was wrong. No one was above suspicion and the all the secrets had you pointing fingers left and right.
You get mystery, action, suspense, relationships and spice that had me frothing at the mouth. It was a great story and so addictive. I lost a couple of nights sleep getting to the end of this book. Just one more page and poof the sun was rising. The depth of this story was so much more than I expected. It’s a brilliantly unique storyline chock-full of twists, intrigue, suspense, spice, and so much emotion.
There was great characters, story and developments. Nothing was confusing nor boring and all very thrilling that I highly recommend.
I will definitely be reading more from this author. This is the first book I have read of theirs and I am hella impressed and happy.
Well, this was certainly one way to introduce myself to Skye Frost. 😂
First things first: The Lies That Bind is a BIG book. At 600+ pages, there is a lot of story here, so don't wander in expecting something you’ll casually knock over in an afternoon. But for me, the twists made the commitment worthwhile.
The setup alone gives you plenty to work with. Brogan Sinclair is the CEO of Sinclair Pharmaceuticals, his high-profile fiancée has disappeared and naturally suspicion lands firmly on him. What everyone doesn't know is that the engagement was fake and Brogan has spent the last ten years secretly in love with Declan Fitzgerald.
Enter Enslee Byrne, a true-crime podcaster looking for the story behind the disappearance.
And things get complicated VERY quickly.
What I enjoyed most was the way the romance and mystery were tangled together. This isn't simply a romance happening while a mystery plays quietly in the background. Secrets surrounding Brogan, Declan and Enslee become wrapped up in the investigation itself, so there is always another question sitting underneath the one you think you're trying to answer.
And there are a LOT of secrets.
The relationship also moves from an established MM connection into an MMF dynamic, which adds another layer to an already complicated situation. You've got years of hidden history between Brogan and Declan colliding with Enslee, who initially enters their lives because she's trying to uncover the truth about Brogan.
Totally uncomplicated circumstances for a relationship, obviously. 😂
This is definitely one you need to give some time to because there is a lot happening and a lot of pages in which it happens. But every time I thought things were beginning to settle, another reveal changed something. That was ultimately what kept me invested and why the size of the book worked for me. The twists were worth it
If you enjoy MM-to-MMF/why-choose romance with a hefty side of mystery, true crime, forbidden relationships, billionaires and approximately seventeen thousand secrets waiting to cause problems, this could be right up your alley.
Thank you so much to Skye Frost and Luna Literary for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book was a lot! Coming in at over 600 pages, be ready for a deep dive of a story, with the perfect mix of true crime, romance, and high-stakes suspense that kept me hooked from page one. Brogan Sinclair and Declan Fitzgerald are a unique couple, both rich in their own right but also both broken in different ways. Brogan comes with a lot of emotional baggage from his family. From the crushing expectations of his father, the need to maintain the Sinclair family image, and the pharmaceutical empire, his dark and twisty behavior was made that much more intriguing. While Declan, as a successful actor, needed to keep up a specific image for his adoring fans, he couldn’t seem to stay away from Brogan. Their relationship is full of passion and deep love, but it comes with secrecy and sacrifice as they try to have the best of both worlds. Enter Enslee Bryne, the true-crime podcaster who falls into their lives while trying to uncover the truth. Enslee comes into this situationship with a lot of her own baggage and twisted history. She travels the country in her minivan, interviewing inmates for her podcast, all while trying to figure out her own personal life. Deciding to do an episode about the disappearance of Brogan’s fiancée is meant to make Enslee’s podcast take off, but her success may just come at the destruction of Brogan and Declan’s love. As their relationship morphs into something that none of them imagined, the connection between them all is something they can’t deny either. Converging their personal struggles, emotional vulnerabilities, and differing needs into this new relationship brings its own struggles that they must learn through. Finding a way to trust each other and build their relationship into something lasting will take all of them working together. If you are looking for a big read with characters that embody the dark romance genre to a T and love character arcs full of emotional damage, then this is just the book for you. I enjoyed the mixture of the MMF romance angle, the complication of their broken histories, and the overarching suspense. Skye Frost is a new-to-me author, so this book was definitely an undertaking, but it was a good look at her writing style. I can’t wait to see what her other works look like.
*The Lies That Bind* pulled me in with a deliciously complicated mix of forbidden love, family secrets, deception, and murder.
Brogan Sinclair is living a life built on appearances and expectations. His engagement to a media heiress looks like the perfect alliance between two powerful families, but behind the scenes, the story is very different. When his fiancée suddenly disappears, Brogan finds himself at the center of a murder investigation while desperately trying to protect the secret he's kept hidden for years.
What really caught my attention was the emotional complexity of Brogan and Declan's relationship. They've kept their love hidden so long that protecting each other has become second nature, but now everything they've tried to bury threatens to come to light.
Then there's Enslee Byrne, the true-crime podcaster who arrives determined to uncover the truth. I enjoyed the added tension she brings to the story because she isn't simply investigating a mystery—she is digging into a world where almost everyone has something they desperately want to hide.
The combination of the missing woman, the suspicious evidence, the powerful families, and the layers of deception kept me guessing. When the characters seem to have a way out, another complication threatens to pull everything apart.
I also liked the central question that runs through the story: **How much are you willing to sacrifice to protect the person you love? ** Brogan and Declan are forced to make increasingly difficult choices, and every decision carries consequences.
Skye Frost has created a fast-paced romantic suspense novel filled with secrets, danger, complicated relationships, and twists that keep the story moving. With so many characters hiding pieces of the truth, figuring out who you can actually trust becomes part of the fun.
*The Lies That Bind* is an entertaining read for anyone who enjoys forbidden romance, LGBTQ+ romance, true-crime intrigue, wealthy families with secrets, and a good murder mystery wrapped around it all. 🖤📖
Sometimes the biggest danger isn't the lie itself—it's what happens when someone finally starts pulling at the thread.
I've been intrigued by this book from the second that I read the blurb. I absolutely knew that I had to pick this book up. I got into this story immediately. I enjoyed it so much!
Brogan, Declan, and Enslee's journey pulled me in right from the start! Brogan and Declan have been in love with each other for many years. The thing is though, Brogan has a fake fiancée and Declan and Brogan have to keep their relationship hidden. When Brogan's fiancée goes missing everyone wants to pin it on him. Enslee is a true crime podcaster on the hunt for answers. As Enslee collides with Brogan and Declan it forever shakes things up. Can these three find the truth? And could it lead to so much more between them?
Right from the start all of my attention was consumed by this story and it's characters. I loved how strong Declan and Brogan's relationship was from the very beginning. All of their feelings shined. I enjoyed seeing Enslee come into their lives and shake things up for all of them. There was so much to uncover from beginning to end and I was on the edge of my seat all throughout!
Brogan, Declan, and Enslee had my heart locked in and going through such a range of emotions! It was so great getting to dig deeper with each of them while reading. It was far from an easy journey and I felt for these characters in so many ways. From the chemistry that made me blush to the moments that had me holding my breath and everything in between, i thoroughly enjoyed Declan, Brogan, and Enslee's story!
With The Lies That Bind, Skye Frost has created such a gripping MM to MMF romance that kept me turning the pages with my heart completely locked in! I'm still thinking about Declan, Brogan, and Enslee.
Check out the author's note about the content/triggers.
I can't wait to read what this author brings our way next!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy this book from The Next Step PR / the author*
I went into The Lies That Bind not really knowing what to expect, and this book took me on a RIDE. There was so much happening between the romance, secrets, mystery, and suspense that I kept telling myself I needed to read just one more chapter.
I really loved Brogan, Declan, and Enslee together. Brogan and Declan already had so much history between them, and I loved getting to see that relationship while also watching Enslee slowly become part of their lives. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about the relationship changing from MM to MMF, but I ended up loving the three of them together. Their chemistry was SO good, and I liked that Enslee didn’t feel like she was just thrown into an already established relationship.
The mystery was probably one of my favorite parts. Between the missing fiancée, Brogan being accused of murder, Enslee digging into everything for her true-crime podcast, and SO many people keeping secrets, I genuinely didn’t know who I could trust. Every time I thought I had something figured out, something else happened that made me question everything again.
I also really enjoyed that there was more to the characters than just the romance. Brogan especially had so much he was dealing with, and there were definitely parts of his story that broke my heart. I loved seeing how protective Declan was of him and eventually how the three of them became protective of each other.
This book was messy, emotional, spicy, suspenseful, and full of secrets—which apparently is exactly the combination I need I was completely invested in finding out what actually happened and whether Brogan, Declan, and Enslee would make it through everything happening around them.
If you like forbidden romance, why choose, MM to MMF, billionaires, true-crime vibes, murder mysteries, and plenty of twists, I definitely recommend giving this one a try!
Thank you Skye Frost and Luna literacy for the opportunity to read The Lies That Bind! 🖤
